The National Telegraph - Wyatt Claypool - Justin Trudeau is digging himself a deep hole in Durham

00:00:00.000 If you watch this channel with any regularity, you're not going to be shocked by the news I have

00:00:05.500 for you today that the Liberal Party of Canada has made yet another embarrassing strategic mistake.

00:00:11.200 But it's not just a regular embarrassing strategic mistake. Like I have mentioned in the past,

00:00:16.180 it is something truly special. Justin Trudeau, for some reason, is throwing all of his resources

00:00:21.620 behind the Liberal campaign in the Durham riding since Aaron O'Toole stepped down. There's going

00:00:26.420 to be a by-election. And for some reason, they picked a Conservative nomination candidate

00:00:32.080 to be their actual Liberal candidate in this riding. It's so embarrassing, I love it. But

00:00:39.900 for some reason, they are fanatically behind this man, Robert Rock, who in articles literally

00:00:45.240 describes himself as a fiscal Conservative, who criticizes Justin Trudeau as an incompetent leader,

00:00:50.240 but is now here a couple months later after losing the nomination to Jamil Giovanni for Durham,

00:00:56.420 is here running as the Liberal candidate in Durham. I don't know what it is about the Liberals

00:01:01.600 that have made them seem to stick all of their money behind him in this race. He's not going to

00:01:06.740 win. It just looks silly and embarrassing. This is a riding the Liberals have not won since 2000. 0.97

00:01:12.400 And yet, Justin Trudeau is fanatically acting like this is their moment to win. I'm going to play you

00:01:17.480 the clips that they've been uploading. It's quite amazing.

00:01:19.560 The basic, most basic element of politics is choosing someone to be your voice in Parliament.

00:01:29.820 Making sure that the person you send to Ottawa to represent you, to stand for you, to fight for you,

00:01:38.860 knows you.

00:01:39.740 The guy you are running, you don't even seem to know him. He literally ran ads against you when he

00:01:47.020 was the Conservative nomination candidate. He was talking about how awful you are. And for some 0.98

00:01:51.640 reason, you were dumb enough to make him your candidate because you have no standards. Because 1.00

00:01:55.420 the Liberals only want power. And if Robert Rock maybe has a better list than another Liberal local

00:02:01.160 candidate might have, they're going to use him because he might have more data for them to use. 0.97

00:02:05.080 It's so transparently pathetic. 0.83

00:02:09.040 Shares your values, shares your perspective, understands the responsibility. 0.97

00:02:14.520 Is the Liberal Party a fiscally Conservative Party now? Robert Rock seems like a very, very big

00:02:20.680 red Tory. But he's at least Conservative on some issue. So if anything, he's out of step with the

00:02:26.460 voters in Durham who are supporting him.

00:02:28.120 He's literally not here to fight for you. Spoiler alert, Justin. Robert Rock would have run against

00:02:50.080 you as the Conservative nomination candidate if he beat Jamil Javani. Because Jamil Javani stomped him

00:02:56.160 because Jamil is an actual Conservative and Robert Rock is one of these half-y fake

00:03:00.740 red Tory Conservatives. That's why he is now running for you guys. You are literally his second pick.

00:03:07.260 He was rejected for the prom by the Conservatives. And now he is here with you guys as the

00:03:12.280 consolation prize. This inspiring speech just makes the whole thing sadder. Oh, goodness.

00:03:18.120 A challenging world. That's what you have here with Robert. Someone who's lived and worked and

00:03:25.600 served this rioting in this community for 20 years. Someone who knows what it is to walk these

00:03:31.380 streets, to engage here, to lead in communities. Guys, guys, Robert's a great liberal candidate.

00:03:36.740 He's walked these streets before. I don't know why. It was so weird when he put his hand on his

00:03:40.900 shoulder and like, you have a great candidate here in Robert. It's like he was like speaking way too

00:03:45.780 intensely. And then he had to say a name like Robert. And it just didn't connect at all.

00:03:50.540 Uh, yeah, this, this is, this is not an inspiring moment. He understands how important it is to get

00:03:57.240 out there and meet with as many people as possible, not just to introduce himself, to try and convince

00:04:03.960 them to support him as every candidate is doing. Yeah. He also did it when he was a Conservative

00:04:08.820 nomination candidate. He has a lot of experience trying to convince people to vote for him. He'll do

00:04:12.700 it in any party that will let him in. But to understand, to reflect, and to make sure people

00:04:20.080 know that he is there to be their voice in Ottawa, not Ottawa's voice here in Durham.

00:04:28.260 You're literally, you literally represent Ottawa, not in the sense that he's like an Ottawa MP,

00:04:33.720 but you are literally the government. And your government is a very big government style

00:04:38.720 government. So he is very much going to be, if he wins, if something crazy happens, and somehow

00:04:44.880 Robert Rock wins, he's not going to win. If he wins, he's obviously going to just be a stooge for

00:04:50.360 the government in Ottawa, because that's pretty much what your government's done this entire time,

00:04:55.200 Justin. It has been pushing policies that nobody really likes, but enough activists are able to sort

00:05:00.780 of turn out and vote for that you're able to stay in government, even when you pull people on the

00:05:05.180 carpet tax, when you pull people on all the different social issues the liberals have been

00:05:08.980 pushing, the tax system that they've been sort of like building up themselves, like raising taxes,

00:05:14.920 the different sort of nickel and diming of people on little tiny, small transactions. It's a very tax

00:05:20.640 heavy government. It's not a popular government in a place like Durham. So unless Robert Rock becomes a

00:05:26.120 liberal MP, and then immediately just resigns from the caucus and becomes an independent and truly

00:05:31.680 starts representing his riding, he doesn't represent them. But anyways, this is where I want to talk a

00:05:38.260 little bit about the issue of red Toryism inside the Conservative Party. This is why I maintain that 1.00

00:05:44.360 red Toryism is very dangerous to the health of the Conservatives. I think Pierre Polyev has put the

00:05:50.120 Conservatives on a much better path than we were with Erin O'Toole or Andrew Scheer. We're on a much more

00:05:54.600 conservative path, but there are a lot of people trying to win nominations for the Conservatives,

00:05:59.360 like Mr. Robert Rock, who are not conservative in any way. If the Liberals had a better chance of

00:06:04.480 winning in that riding, he would have jumped into their nomination first. And then if he lost that,

00:06:09.060 maybe he was going to go run for the Conservatives. Even in my riding, I'm running, again, my name is

00:06:13.960 Wyatt Claypool. Even in my riding of Calgary Signal Hill, there's like 14 candidates that are going to be

00:06:18.560 trying to go for the nomination. I'm running for it because I'm an actual conservative. I live here locally.

00:06:23.700 Tons of these other people do not live near the riding. They are very liberal in their views,

00:06:28.360 but they're saying, I'm with Polyev. No, you're not. You literally were with O'Toole very strongly

00:06:34.020 five minutes ago, and suddenly you're like, I'm an anti-woke politician. No, you're not. I know all

00:06:39.200 you people. You're actually all very woke. There's people who voted against conscience rights for

00:06:43.080 doctors running in this nomination, pretending that they're now against MAID procedures, when they

00:06:47.740 were totally fine with making doctors refer people to MAID. That's insane. These people are liars.

00:06:52.900 And that's the problem with red Tories. They are in the conservative party, but when the chips are 0.99

00:06:58.600 down, they are liberal first, they are liberals first, and conservatives second. If there's an

00:07:03.620 opportunity for them to be a liberal candidate, they will be. But if they're in an area where the

00:07:07.900 liberals cannot win, they will run for the conservatives first. This is the issue that we

00:07:11.960 have. Leela Ayer is in my riding, trying to run. She's a former MLA for Chestermere Strathmore,

00:07:17.060 a pretty awful former MLA for Chestermere Strathmore, completely out of sync with the actual views of

00:07:22.060 her own community. I'm happy Chantal de Jong is now the MLA for that area. She's trying to run here. 0.98

00:07:26.960 I've heard in the background that she was threatening to run in Calgary Centre as a liberal

00:07:30.320 if they didn't let her into this nomination. That's from someone pretty high up in the party.

00:07:34.660 These people are not conservatives. They're just running for whatever party is expedient for them.

00:07:39.680 Do not assume that because they have a blue banner behind them and they're running for their

00:07:43.880 nomination that they must be on Team Polyev. A lot of these people are willing to lie

00:07:48.220 because leftists, liberal people just want power so that they can later push their liberal views

00:07:54.260 onto the public through legislation. Even if they've got to pretend to be true blue for the

00:07:58.080 moment, they will do it for the moment and then flip on you later and you'll be caught out of sorts

00:08:03.220 like with O'Toole and think, why would he do this? He promised to be true blue because he was never.

00:08:07.500 Look at his voting record. I've been having people say, well, you're being rude, Wyatt,

00:08:13.000 in your mind because I'll bring up people's voting records. Well, don't bring up people's voting

00:08:16.300 records. That's not how we do politics. We do politics by just saying everyone's a good guy

00:08:21.280 and that whoever wins, that's the right candidate. No, they're not. They might not be the right

00:08:25.100 candidates. We actually need good people in our ridings. So this is why, regardless of what

00:08:31.080 riding you live in, if you live in my riding, buy a Conservative Party membership. If you don't buy

00:08:36.800 a Conservative Party membership, make sure that you get on your board if you already have an incumbent MP

00:08:41.640 and if there's a nomination race in your area, go and vote for the bluest person in that riding.

00:08:46.620 We actually want government to change, not government with slightly more Conservative

00:08:51.540 versions of Liberals who are not actually going to get anything done. I think Polly was a very

00:08:55.500 good Conservative. Jamil Giovanni is a fantastic Conservative. Aaron Gunn is a great Conservative.

00:09:00.320 But I want to make sure that we don't sort of get complacent and we get a bunch of people

00:09:04.420 sneaking in here or there who they would have run for the Liberals if it was a better option for them

00:09:09.080 at the time. Anyways, rant over. So again, if you live in my riding, Calgary, Signal Hill here,

00:09:15.860 this is what the boundaries look like. Buy a Conservative membership. Go check out my website

00:09:19.560 in the description below, wyattclaypool.com, or donate to my legal fund if you want. We have this

00:09:25.500 silly developer suing us, some billionaire, on a really dumb defamation case. He hasn't even submitted 0.99

00:09:31.300 any evidence to prove we defamed him. He's just doing this to try and bully us. The things that we've

00:09:35.800 said about him were already reported by much larger publications years before, but he thought that we

00:09:40.720 couldn't pay to defend ourselves. So he was trying to extract a fake apology out of us to pretend like

00:09:45.280 he's some big powerful guy and we're not going to bend to him. Or you can also donate to my campaign

00:09:50.060 directly if you live in Canada in the donation tab of my website. Basically, it's an e-transfer.

00:09:55.580 You got to give me more information though. You got like in the message, send your full name,

00:09:59.540 address, email, and phone number so that we can verify also postal code just so that Elections

00:10:04.460 Canada can actually verify donations to me. But anyways, that's it for me today. Been a lot of fun

00:10:11.180 watching Trudeau embarrass himself in Durham. I am looking forward to that March 4th election day for

00:10:17.460 Durham. I'm going to be watching it live because it's going to be hilarious to watch how badly the

00:10:22.280 liberals are going to do. If you live in Durham, make sure to come out and support Jamil. He's a great

00:10:27.280 fiscal and social conservative, someone who actually cares about making deep reforms to the government

00:10:32.520 once the conservatives win power. Anyways, that's it for me today and I hope everyone has a great afternoon.
