00:00:00.000 Hands down, Nahid Nenshi, the leader of the Alberta NDP, is the most incompetent NDP leader in the
00:00:07.780 entire country. And I include the maritime NDP leaders when I say that, who mainly run parties
00:00:14.260 with absolutely zero seats. At least they probably somewhat understand the provinces that they're
00:00:20.600 running a party in. They just aren't part of the political zeitgeist and so don't really have the
00:00:25.280 opportunity to win a seat. Nahid Nenshi doesn't understand Alberta at all. He thinks he can become
00:00:31.700 premier basically by just getting the votes of hyper-progressive people in downtown areas
00:00:37.500 and public sector union workers, which maybe puts his party at 30% of the vote. 30% isn't even that
00:00:45.160 unrealistic at this point for the NDP to get in the next election. This was the last pullout from
00:00:51.440 Leger which mind you has a very left lean to it they tend to over pull people in urban areas and
00:00:58.180 it's no different in this poll and even then they have the Danielle Smith UCP leading by nine points
00:01:04.540 49 to 40 with another 11 percent of people undecided and that 11 percent is going to become
00:01:11.660 relevant very quickly here because the NDP are going to be even more challenged in the next
00:01:16.860 provincial election on their left flank. And it's actually because, or actually somewhat to their
00:01:22.580 right flank, because the NDP is way too far left for this province, and Nahid Nenshi doesn't seem
00:01:28.240 to understand. This is something that he thought was a good idea to do. So he was in Vancouver the
00:01:34.400 other day because the Ajikan was in town. He's an Ismaili Muslim, so he wanted to go see him.
00:01:39.780 Whatever, he can go fill his boots. That doesn't bother me. It's like Catholics going to see the
00:01:43.760 Pope. As a Baptist, I don't understand it, but whatever. Do what you want. He posted this.
00:01:49.500 It was great to catch up with Premier Eby in Vancouver over the weekend. We both attended
00:01:54.400 an event with HH the Ajakon. Why in the world, why in the name of Chekhov would you post that? 0.89
00:02:04.800 He has an approval rating, David Eby, of only 28% in his own province. And by the way,
00:02:12.680 he is extremely anti-Alberta oil and gas. That was ostensibly the reason why Nahid Nenshi had
00:02:20.900 distanced himself from the new federal NDP leader Avi Lewis, because Avi Lewis is just a full-on
00:02:26.400 anti-oil and gas activist. What do you think David Hebe is, man? Yeah, he's the premier and he acts a
00:02:32.700 little more professional than Avi Lewis does, but Avi is running a party of five seats at the moment
00:02:37.920 or so, five or six seats. So, of course, he can kind of be a little bit of a hair-on-fire activist.
00:02:44.000 David Eby is the same guy. He used to be a hair-on-fire activist, and now he just has
00:02:49.080 professionalized his opposition to energy resources. He absolutely opposes them, too,
00:02:54.860 but Nahid Nenshi, I guess, is trying to, like, associate him with success by taking a photo with
00:02:59.860 an NDP Premier. Dude, I don't like the guy, but go to Manitoba and take a photo of the Wab Canoe.
00:03:05.680 At least the grassroots NDP types kind of like him, you know, not in the way that they seem to despise Nahid Nenshi.
00:03:13.640 But here is the problem that they are going to have.
00:03:16.620 Because there are a lot of NDP voters from the 2023 election who maybe they'll never vote conservative.
00:03:24.100 But they also understand this province kind of does run on oil and gas and you can't just run against that.
00:03:30.400 And they're probably going to be going over to more moderate left parties that at least understand that we shouldn't burn down our own industries.
00:03:40.200 So, you know, Bonnie Critchley, the woman who came in second place in Battle River Crowfoot when Pierre Polyev was running for that seat in Alberta in the by-election?
00:03:50.660 She only got like 17% of the vote or whatever, mostly because left-wingers all voted for her, even though she was an independent.
00:03:56.880 but she is now going to be running for the progressive Tory party. It used to be the
00:04:02.180 Alberta party. They changed their name to whatever they could get as close to the progressive
00:04:06.820 conservative brand as possible with. But the thing is, although I know a lot of conservatives in UCP
00:04:12.200 politics are very scared of the appeal of the progressive Tories splitting their vote,
00:04:17.300 it's not going to happen. One, vote splitting doesn't matter. There's no such thing as vote
00:04:22.040 splitting unless you're doing a crappy job and the NDP are doing a really crappy job. That's why the
00:04:27.680 progressive Tory party is not going to take a single vote away from the UCP relative to the NDP.
00:04:34.120 On net, yes, the UCP might lose a few votes here and there. The vast majority of votes being lost
00:04:40.240 from the NDP are going to be coming, or the vast majority of votes being gained by the Tories are
00:04:45.400 going to be getting taken from the NDP. And the Alberta Liberals are probably also going to be
00:04:50.520 taking votes from the NDP because Mark Carney's brand is quite good right now. And even though
00:04:55.400 it's the incompetent provincial liberals, they will start siphoning off votes. So I'm having a
00:05:01.120 fantastic time because as you may know, I'm actually going to be running for a UCP nomination
00:05:06.100 in the riding of Calgary Curry. If you want to vote for me in that riding and you happen to live
00:05:10.140 there, sign up at my website, pinned at the top of the comments, WyattClayfool.com. But let's get
00:05:15.800 back to this polling result, because check this out. When you ask people who they voted for last
00:05:21.160 time and who's considering another party or an independent candidate, which is mostly probably
00:05:26.520 made up of liberal voters and progressive Tory voters in terms of what they're choosing, maybe
00:05:32.160 some Alberta Republicans, but that's pretty small. When it comes to the federal vote, federal liberals
00:05:38.740 are going to be voting 15% for another party, which probably means they're going to be voting
00:05:44.240 for the Alberta Liberals or the Progressive Tories. Right now, the Conservatives, yes,
00:05:51.120 they're only capturing 7% or they're capturing 13% of federal Liberals, but that's a lot
00:05:57.300 considering they're holding on to 87% of federal Conservatives who are by far the most popular
00:06:04.040 party in Alberta. The NDP is only capturing 72% of federal Liberal voters. And remember,
00:06:11.460 although they're getting 96% of federal NDP voters, there are no such thing as federal NDP
00:06:16.600 voters in Alberta. There was a single seat that the federal NDP holds in Alberta, and it's Heather
00:06:23.940 McPherson's crazy Hamas riding of Edmonton Strathcona. So what is the actual benefit of 0.99
00:06:32.440 Nahid Nenshi leaning so left going into the next Alberta provincial election? His strategy seems to
00:06:38.820 be that if he can smear danielle smith as secretly being a separatist that somehow he will win but
00:06:44.920 the problem is at sometime in october if you support independence i absolutely get it i understand a
00:06:50.840 lot of the arguments the support is just not there and and frankly too many people in the movement
00:06:55.540 are kind of disorganized and they're not really good at connecting with people who don't already
00:06:59.860 agree with them it's probably going to get in the ballpark of 25 at the low end up to the high end
00:07:05.220 maybe 32 33 percent but it's going to be a dead issue when the next provincial election rolls
00:07:10.740 around in fall of 2027 and but at the same time as that the ndp have actually been embracing a
00:07:19.460 referendum question that will stick with them into the next election because they have been backing
00:07:26.820 this ridiculous petition for a referendum question by corb lund a washed up old country singer
00:07:33.700 trying to ban coal so courtney thoreau here from i believe it's a global news or ctv or something
00:07:40.740 like that he says coreblund officially files a judicial review challenging the chief electoral
00:07:46.500 officer's decision to deem the water not coal citizens initiative unsuccessful the reason he
00:07:52.740 argues the decision was unreasonable procedurally unfair and inconsistent with the purpose of alberta
00:07:58.980 Citizens Initiative Act. Now, do you know why this is so funny? It's because the Alberta NDP
00:08:05.520 have basically been arguing that the judge's decision blocking this petition should be
00:08:10.480 overturned, even though he was late with his signatures, he had a high number of people who
00:08:16.020 whose signatures were not valid, and it was thrown out. But the thing is, the Alberta NDP at the same
00:08:22.040 time was trying to invalidate the pro-independence uh forever stay free alberta petition they were
00:08:29.480 saying that one was wrong and the the original judge was right for shutting it down because it
00:08:33.720 could violate indigenous rights somehow so nahit nenshi was backing shutting down a citizen's
00:08:40.120 petition based on a ridiculous ruling by a judge that was later overturned but he has been backing
00:08:46.440 Corb Lund openly trying to violate the already fairly easy standards to getting a referendum
00:08:52.340 question put on the ballot because he's an ideological radical who hates coal.
00:08:57.240 Do the NDP think they're going to win more seats running against coal?
00:09:02.380 It turns out there's a lot of constituencies in Alberta who rely on coal as a form of power
00:09:08.040 and industry.
00:09:09.600 We export a lot of coal.
00:09:11.240 These people don't understand what coal actually does.
00:09:14.200 they simply live in cities and they don't understand it, so they want to shut it down.
00:09:19.120 We have the NDP literally running in favor of safe supply drugs. You know the thing that ruined
00:09:23.920 places like Vancouver? Yes, let's run on safe supply drugs and banning coal and reopening
00:09:29.740 the Schumer Injection Center. Yeah, that's a good idea, guys. How about we run against parental
00:09:35.180 rights? Oh, and also, let's make sure to also imply that we're going to defund charter schools
00:09:42.200 Because apparently the public schools are underfunded, even though the charter schools only get a small portion of what public schools get per student.
00:09:51.240 No doubt, I can see a winning coalition coming here, guys.
00:09:54.720 No, don't worry. The progressive Tory party and the Alberta Liberal Party is not going to dull Nenshi's momentum to winning the premiership of Alberta.
00:10:05.320 I have no clue why he was able to stay in as leader after the water main break story started coming out.
00:10:13.760 So he was mayor for 12 years, and then his protege, Gondek, was mayor for another four years in the city of Calgary.
00:10:20.520 And over that time, he put in basically no money to fixing water infrastructure in the city and keeping it maintained.
00:10:28.140 Gondek got in, and she actually somewhat started fixing it because some of the issues started coming out when she was mayor, but not nearly enough did she do.
00:10:35.320 And now we have almost every other month a major water main break, basically preventing people from using their showers or having water in their homes at all.
00:10:46.860 And this guy is going to decide to move seats from his current Edmonton Strathcona provincial seat that he took over from Rachel Notley.
00:10:54.960 and now he's going to run in the city of Calgary reminding everyone that he is the water main
00:11:01.620 bandit who made you have to go without showering for a week or you had to go and borrow a shower
00:11:06.940 from a friend's house like good I am so happy he's doing these things it's like he's trying to lose
00:11:15.860 but now I want to move on to some other things the NDP are saying right now because again their
00:11:21.000 their ability to not understand this province is quite something. And then I need to move on to a
00:11:26.600 pro-independence complaint of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith that's kind of popped up in the
00:11:31.100 last day or two. And I'm not trying to do apologetics for her. Even though I'm running
00:11:34.540 for a UCP nomination, I'm critical of a lot of elements of the MOU with Liberal Prime Minister
00:11:41.380 Mark Carney. There are aspects of it where Carney's getting way too much of what he wants
00:11:46.040 in exchange for kind of a vague promise that he's going to follow through with a pipeline.
00:11:51.000 which he doesn't really even need to do anything for until his next term just way too many ways
00:11:56.680 where he can kind of drive a truck through gaps in this agreement so that he doesn't actually have
00:12:01.080 to give alberta anything so that's to preface it's not like i'm just going to make excuses for her
00:12:05.940 but there were some alberta independence guys attacking her in ways that i just did not think
00:12:12.200 were fair because social context really determines what a premier will sometimes say on an issue at a
00:12:17.980 time. And it's not because they're lying. It's because you aren't always in attack mode when it
00:12:22.260 comes to your political opponents when you're doing a press conference with them. But here's
00:12:26.620 something the Alberta NDP are trying to attack Danielle Smith with. And from my own insights
00:12:33.340 into the riding I'm running in, Calgary-Curry, again, if you live in southwest Calgary in that
00:12:38.520 area, sign up at my website, whiteclaypool.com, pinned at the top of the comments. But Sharif
00:12:44.280 Haji here says, who's from the Alberta NDP. Yeah, he's an MLA. I was wondering if he's a
00:12:50.240 communications director or an MLA up in Edmonton, no doubt. He said, today's announcement of private
00:12:56.400 pay preventative services won't solve wait times. It will make them worse. Daniel Smith and her UCP
00:13:02.780 government have given up on fixing public health care. They have thrown in the towel and are asking
00:13:07.660 us to pay instead no they are not i watched i was i was doing something really boring and decided to
00:13:14.700 watch an announcement on cpac the announcement is is that if you go in for a breast cancer screening
00:13:22.140 or colon cancer screening or some other cancer screening or other you know screenings for
00:13:27.980 diseases and whatnot if it is positive if you find out you do have something because you suspected it
00:13:34.940 they will pay for the costs of the screening that you got it is to encourage people to go to private
00:13:40.460 clinics and get some of the initial consultations of the doctor done on their own time rather than
00:13:47.340 burdening the public health care system with it this will reduce wait times and by the way she's
00:13:53.420 already been reducing wait times the alberta government has actually been doing a fairly
00:13:58.620 decent job from reducing wait times since she became premier in 2023 the wait times for things
00:14:04.300 like knee surgeries and other sort of like hip replacements the things that are typically used
00:14:09.180 as bellwethers for how the system is operating they've been getting better over time and i know
00:14:14.460 a lot of people from surveying people in the riding i'm planning on running in and elsewhere
00:14:19.740 privatized health care options are actually startlingly popular with people that you would
00:14:25.340 assume would be like an elbows up liberal type even mark carney is somewhat embracing it now
00:14:31.020 Now, health care is a responsibility of the provinces, but there was an announcement from the federal government that they're going to let provinces experiment far more when it comes to how they plan on delivering health care rather than trying to strictly enforce the idea that you can't offer pretty much anything but the most basic clinic services outside of the public health care system.
00:14:53.500 Like, guys, I don't know what to tell you. Find a winning issue. Because right now, the Alberta NDP's issues are like $15 off, you know, we're going to raise our $15 minimum wage to $17. Okay, like, I don't really get it. But that's really it.
00:15:11.720 And they're also running on stuff like this. Here's another post from Courtney Thoreau here saying, Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta changes name to Treaty 8 Sovereign Nations in response to what they call unprecedented political climate, the climate being fostered by the current Alberta government.
00:15:29.260 oh my goodness all of the just reconciliation industry aligned bands in Alberta are just
00:15:37.160 coming after Danielle Smith for having let the referendum go forward but it's not because they
00:15:42.640 actually think the referendum is going to succeed it's not and if anyone's claiming that it's going
00:15:47.860 to succeed guys they're lying to you it's just not popular it's not that it will never be popular
00:15:53.740 again I don't support independence but I'm not here to just poo-poo people and say that it's
00:15:58.320 not going to work i'm saying that the movement itself hasn't won any battles yet and going for
00:16:03.880 full independence vote right away is kind of a bad move you haven't won the pension fight yet
00:16:09.520 you haven't won any other sovereignty fights yet so why try and stretch people by getting them to
00:16:15.580 vote for independence which is obviously going to be a non-starter and is too big of a concept for
00:16:21.300 people to understand when you haven't even taken other moves towards it alberta doesn't even collect
00:16:25.580 its own taxes yet. So you can't just jump from the top of the stairs to the bottom and hope you're
00:16:30.660 going to win. But all of this stuff is like the only thing the Alberta NDP is truly running on
00:16:35.460 right now. The fight against Danielle Smith and the separatist referendum implying that somehow
00:16:41.000 she's some secret separatist. Oh, Danielle Smith's trying to secretly take us out of Canada. No,
00:16:47.100 none of these people actually believe that. The reason why they're attacking her so much is they're
00:16:51.460 mad the referendum is going forward because it will kill off the issue for 2027. And then they
00:16:57.240 will actually have to find a real issue to run on. And no, you can't run on just spending more
00:17:02.740 money on services in a province like Alberta. This is not Ontario. This is not British Columbia.
00:17:09.400 The NDP cannot hope to get close to the seat count they need to win by simply saying we're
00:17:13.860 going to raise minimum wage and give you more benefits and, you know, hire more teachers and
00:17:18.260 build more schools. Plus, the Alberta government's already doing those things. So what? Open drug
00:17:24.520 sites in people's communities? I'm going to tell you that that's not very popular. That is actually
00:17:29.440 why I probably have a decent advantage of going into Calgary Curry, because the east side of the
00:17:34.060 riding is where Janet Aramanco, the incumbent NDP MLA, won like by 25% points. Like on the east
00:17:41.640 side of the riding, she was really running the score up. And then on the west side of the riding,
00:17:44.960 she only won by like a couple points in those polling areas and actually the UCP candidate
00:17:49.540 even won a couple of the polls but the problem is the east side of the riding she was able to
00:17:55.260 make a solid pitch because the drug crisis was really bad there and she could like show up and
00:17:59.440 act like well you know you can trust me because I'm a drug site advocate and I know how to reduce
00:18:04.040 the amount of I can I can deal with the addictions issue in this province but now that UCP has a deal
00:18:09.600 dealt with the addictions problem and it's way better in that part of town and so the there's
00:18:14.660 no pitch left for the NDP anymore. I actually don't know what they can even run on at this
00:18:20.160 point other than they don't like Danielle Smith. But there's a lot of people now criticizing
00:18:24.320 Danielle Smith for this moment at a recent press conference with Prime Minister Mark Carney
00:18:29.720 claiming that she has now given up the fight against equalization. I'm going to let the clip
00:18:34.940 play first, then I'm going to get into the content of it in a second. We move towards the referendum
00:18:39.580 in October, some of the separation angst, if you will, is driven by concerns over equalization
00:18:45.220 payments and the feeling and the belief that Albertans are being taken advantage of. Certainly
00:18:49.320 there's some disinformation when it comes to equalization, but do you think that the
00:18:53.420 program should be reviewed before its renewal in just a few years? Well, thanks for giving me the
00:18:59.080 opportunity to lobby the Prime Minister on this. I've lobbied my fellow premiers. If the economy's
00:19:03.720 growing and everybody's doing better, they should be less reliant on the equalization program. I
00:19:08.080 pitch to my fellow premiers and not my pitch to the prime minister is let's just uh get rid of
00:19:13.000 that escalator let's equalize to the point of need and then let's take the excess that's in
00:19:19.420 that fund and distribute it back to the provinces on an equal per capita basis that'll help us with
00:19:23.680 our funding pressures and i think it will be a demonstration that just because there's extra
00:19:28.200 money you don't just cut a check to ontario who clearly doesn't need it they're a powerful
00:19:32.580 economy they shouldn't be getting equalization from smaller provinces so that's been my
00:19:37.620 consistent position we think ultimately we should change the equalization program so that we look
00:19:43.780 at per capita spending as well we shouldn't be over equalizing provinces so they can pay for
00:19:48.980 more generous social programs that we're able to afford here ourselves i haven't made much headway
00:19:53.620 yet with my fellow premiers on who are the recipient provinces but i can tell you that the
00:19:58.340 the ones who are kind of the net contributors i feel as well that we've got to get a bit more
00:20:03.060 fairness into the program so apparently this answer is driving a bunch of anti-daniel smith
00:20:09.540 hysteria because apparently within this clip there is some line that people are misconstruing
00:20:16.260 as her being in favor of equalization her point yes she basically says that equalization should
00:20:23.700 effectively be bringing up provinces to a minimum standard of public financing for their programs
00:20:31.220 and for their health care system and education systems and public transit fair enough because
00:20:35.620 the whole original idea of equalization is that there are some provinces that just because
00:20:41.700 the industry isn't very robust there and the economy is sluggish that maybe the canadian
00:20:46.420 government when it redistributes the taxes that people pay to the provincial and federal governments
00:20:51.140 that they can give a little bit more to pi or they can give a little bit more to nova scotia
00:20:56.900 or to manitoba when it's not doing very well and what danielle smith there said is that we have to
00:21:02.420 stop this from being an escalator where you just keep getting more money because you simply have 0.66
00:21:07.700 less than what alberta has because we have this stupid formula now where it's like what what is 0.81
00:21:12.580 the average province have for social spending well that's how much equalization that we're
00:21:17.220 going to bring the other provinces up to after that so basically they take what the current
00:21:22.180 provincial public funding is or per capita funding is for public services, what the average before
00:21:30.420 redistribution is. And then it redistributes all the other provinces who are below the average
00:21:34.980 up to the average. But that's stupid because obviously Alberta is a very rich province and 0.98
00:21:39.780 it artificially makes the average far higher. And so now we're like paying PEI and New Brunswick 0.99
00:21:46.000 and we're paying Manitoba and Quebec massive amounts of money that they really don't need.
00:21:51.780 we should be covering basic services and that's it and that's what daniel smith's point there is
00:21:56.680 by the way equalization exists in every single country now the way canada does equalization
00:22:02.700 is terrible and that needs to end if more more economically destitute parts of the country
00:22:09.820 are given some money to get on their feet to try and bring back industry maybe even giving them
00:22:15.640 ability to lower their taxes to try and bring business back that's a good idea this happens
00:22:20.860 everywhere, even within your own province. Do you think that Calgary pays more in taxes than
00:22:27.160 Edmonton does? I can guarantee you Edmonton gets a higher share of the money of this province. It
00:22:34.120 gets a disproportionate amount of money compared to how much their taxpayers pay compared to what
00:22:38.500 the average Calgarian is paying. At the same time, I'm sorry, but we're not going to run an
00:22:44.600 anti-equalization within Alberta petition demanding that somewhere like Pincher Creek
00:22:49.680 doesn't get so much money handed to it because they're not paying enough taxes to justify it.
00:22:53.660 That's what the system should be. But the problem is it's become like some equalization platinum
00:23:00.000 plus program where it doesn't matter how much Quebec's economy grows or it doesn't really
00:23:05.140 matter what's going on in the economy. They are always going to get another like $950 per person
00:23:10.440 per year from Alberta simply because we have better services than they do. It's like, well,
00:23:16.020 in part, we have better services, not just because of our oil and gas industry, but we have better
00:23:20.460 services because we actually have lower taxes and regulations. And we bring businesses, we bring
00:23:27.480 business and investment into the province. That's why. But there were content creators and other
00:23:32.980 sort of media figures who I even like. I really like Alberta Proud debt, really great guy. I like 0.96
00:23:37.860 Marty up north. I like Derek Fildebrandt, who runs the Western Standard. But Fildebrandt made a video
00:23:42.720 about saying, well, where'd the real Danielle Smith go?
00:23:45.400 And other people are saying that Danielle Smith's betraying her base 0.67
00:23:48.100 and all this stuff over that clip.
00:23:50.960 I'm sorry, she wasn't going to tackle Mark Carney
00:23:53.680 and start beating him up over equalization.
00:23:55.980 It just wasn't going to happen.
00:23:57.640 She didn't say anything exactly pro-equalization.
00:24:00.460 She basically said that this has to stop being a full-on equity welfare program.
00:24:05.240 It can be a program to help provinces that are having a hard time
00:24:09.420 paying for certain basic services.
00:24:11.500 okay, you can have a little bit more money transferred to you out of the collective taxes
00:24:16.900 over to you. This happens everywhere. Not everywhere in a country gets a proportionate
00:24:22.520 amount of the tax benefits in public services. And they're basically saying, hey, this province
00:24:27.960 has a hard time raising money. So some provinces that have a lot of money will give them a little
00:24:32.520 bit more. Now, if it's just a little bit, I'm okay with it. Nobody has a problem with some amount of
00:24:38.020 money to make sure that an area of the country is not just having its hospitals and bridges and
00:24:43.900 roads and schools fall into disrepair. But the way the program has turned into is we're giving
00:24:51.160 hundreds to sometimes thousands of dollars more per person that is really required to give them
00:24:58.100 the things that they need. You're not supposed to have premium plus public services. Alberta's not
00:25:03.440 supposed to be paying for that. We should be paying for and the other provinces that pay a
00:25:07.220 little bit into it too, depending on the year, sometimes BC does, sometimes Saskatchewan does,
00:25:11.760 sometimes Newfoundland does, is that we're supposed to be paying so make sure the buses are running
00:25:16.020 and the bridges are being repaired because it helps the entire country's economy if, you know,
00:25:20.400 things are crumbling in one of the provinces. But there's nothing in that video to suggest that
00:25:25.880 UCP members should be organizing against her. And I literally see people saying that they should be
00:25:30.100 organizing against her at the next AGM. I'm sorry, that's delusional. That's just dumb.
00:25:36.980 She didn't say anything there that was worth rebelling over. 0.96
00:25:40.060 I criticized certain elements of the MOU and that maybe she should be pushing back more on Mark Carney
00:25:45.500 when he just shut down the northern route for a pipeline without really consulting her,
00:25:49.580 just kind of did it unilaterally because David Eby didn't want it.
00:25:54.080 That was maybe a moment where she should have pulled back and said,
00:25:56.360 hey, you have to justify why that suddenly got shut down when it was part of the original MOU
00:26:00.600 that we might be able to build a pipeline up there.
00:26:02.800 Good moment.
00:26:03.880 That's a mild criticism, but I don't critique her actual wanting to build a pipeline.
00:26:08.580 In a certain sense, she's playing a bit of a game because she knows as soon as she becomes 0.75
00:26:12.940 the person naysaying the pipeline agreement, then the media and the liberals are all going
00:26:16.640 to be like, oh my goodness, see that that's why a pipeline is not being built because
00:26:19.780 Daniel Smith is naysaying the project.
00:26:22.600 That doesn't mean you can't criticize it.
00:26:24.200 There is moments for pushback here.
00:26:25.900 Definitely there are significant moments where she can jab at the federal liberals for not
00:26:30.560 for not sticking to what they're saying exactly. And that's what you're going to have to do if you
00:26:34.840 even want Carney to ever follow through on a pipeline. You've got to get tough on him because
00:26:38.900 the guy's a bit of a weasel. He'll get away with doing as little as possible. And if Alberta's
00:26:43.220 giving him a lot and he doesn't have to build a pipeline for like, you know, he doesn't have to
00:26:46.920 start building it for like five, six years, and he doesn't have to complete it for maybe 10 or 12,
00:26:51.600 he's going to take the maximum amount of time he wants because he's a fundamentally not pro
00:26:56.240 oil and gas guy but going back to the NDP in the midst of all this again what are these people's
00:27:03.760 pitches it's like Nahid Nenshi wants to lose because once the referendum is dead and buried
00:27:09.820 not that I'm trying to like dance on the grave of the referendum and say see guys it didn't pass
00:27:14.420 30% of people supporting independence is highly highly significant but it's still a far cry from
00:27:22.020 majority the ndp are are spinning themselves into a hole they are like drilling themselves the other
00:27:28.180 side of the earth spinning trying to make danielle smith look as bad throughout this process as 0.97
00:27:32.100 possible when all she's doing is basically standing up for democracy and give like she's allowing 1.00
00:27:38.740 people to have the vote that they want and proving that the support really isn't there for this
00:27:43.220 movement but the ndp oddly enough are the biggest cheerleaders in the entire province for independence
00:27:48.900 because they need a boogeyman to run against.
00:27:51.480 Daniel Smith was their boogeyman in 2023,
00:27:53.940 and it almost worked.
00:27:55.200 They were almost able to fearmonger enough against her that they won.
00:27:58.600 It was, like, very tight in the city of Calgary.
00:28:00.460 That's partly why Calgary Curry went, like, plus 13 NDP.
00:28:05.080 And this time around, Daniel Smith is a normalized political figure.
00:28:08.860 She's a very normal conservative.
00:28:10.480 They can't fearmonger against her. 1.00
00:28:12.400 They can't really attack her economic record.
00:28:14.760 She's the only reason Kearney is even able to somewhat brag about job numbers and like crime numbers once in a while.
00:28:23.560 Because all the jobs are being created in Alberta and all of the crime reductions are mostly happening in Alberta.
00:28:29.640 Like Ontario will have like a 2%, 1.5% reduction in crime one year.
00:28:34.940 Manitoba may even go up a little bit.
00:28:37.160 Some of the maritime provinces go down slightly, go up slightly.
00:28:39.900 and then Alberta's crime rate goes down 8% in a single year
00:28:43.900 after having previously gone down the year before that and the year before that.
00:28:48.400 The federal government lives vicariously through Alberta.
00:28:52.480 And to make one pitch to people who are pro-independence on why I'm not pro-independence,
00:28:57.960 I'm not pro-independence because I don't do what Quebec wants me to do.
00:29:01.700 And you have to realize Quebec would kind of like nothing better than for Alberta to leave.
00:29:06.680 They want to bully you out because they're better than you.
00:29:09.900 Yes, would Quebec suffer if Alberta left? Sure. The polling really isn't there anyways. But the thing is that Quebec has a crappy economy overall. They don't really care if the economy gets worse. Their province is being run by communists who simply hate the West.
00:29:24.660 They simply hate Western conservatives, and they would rather have Alberta leave so that they get to be even more important.
00:29:31.260 I'd rather Quebec leave.
00:29:33.060 I would rather we stay in the country and eventually turn the federal government into a vehicle to force Quebec to become like Alberta.
00:29:43.160 I think that is something that should happen.
00:29:45.080 They can keep the French language.
00:29:46.260 They can keep their French cultural policies. 0.94
00:29:48.740 But let's force them to become cowboy hat Quebec. 0.91
00:29:52.160 that is why I want to stay in Canada because that revenge is far sweeter than leaving and letting
00:29:58.460 them win the day anyways with all that being said thank you guys for watching make sure to like
