00:00:00.000It's looking like Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Donald Trump will get back to the trade negotiating table, as indicated by Trump, predicting that Carney and the Liberal government is going to be caving in the next couple of weeks.
00:00:13.780now that would explain a lot of the things that the liberals have been posting online recently
00:00:19.040because they're obviously moving away from talking about trump and the americans to attacking pure
00:00:24.960poly of and the conservatives and promoting all their little giveaway programs because i thought
00:00:30.240the trade war was a really good issue for the liberals and it is at the same time obviously
00:00:35.600they're not going to be you know stabbing at the americans until the very day that they end up
00:00:41.360caving, they're going to kind of slowly tone down the trade war rhetoric and then ramp themselves up
00:00:47.680into trade talks with the United States and try and figure out how to claim victory out of what
00:00:52.760is obviously a rhetorical defeat. Now, I want a good deal. I would not sign a deal with high
00:00:58.300tariff rates, but Carney has been screwing this up because, yes, while Trump was the person to
00:01:03.520put tariffs in place in the first place, he has been mismanaging this whole thing. Carney has.
00:01:10.260He claimed that he was like the Trump whisperer.
00:01:12.840He knows how to make a deal with Donald Trump.
00:01:14.820And he's been running away from the table at every turn
00:01:17.440while people like Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum
00:01:20.300have been playing a hardball at the negotiating table,1.00
00:01:23.640doing some horse trading in order to get the best possible deal for her country.
00:01:28.020We keep acting like somehow Carney is going to pull a rabbit out of the hat
00:01:31.600while just sitting back and waiting for Trump to approach him.
00:01:37.080But let's jump into this clip of Trump in the Oval Office predicting that Canada is going to be caving in the next few weeks here.
00:01:44.980Well, they want to have a deal with us. They call us all the time.
00:01:47.840The problem is that they've treated the United States very unfairly.
00:01:51.320They have been one of the worst countries in the entire world.
00:01:55.380You know, we get along with China, we get along with the people, and we make good deals.0.77
00:01:59.460But Canada's been really very difficult to deal with, actually.
00:02:03.640and they've charged our farmers 400 percent tariffs and more and they uh they take advantage
00:02:10.920of us they feel entitled now obviously i disagree with a lot of trump's points on trade and the
00:02:19.320tariff situation sometimes the justifications for tariffs are not very good and in fact i just think
00:02:24.920that tariffs are a really bad economic tool unless you're using them for national security reasons
00:02:30.040But something he always says that I think should resonate more with our own negotiators and general public is he always highlights the American farmers and the 400% tariffs on things like poultry, dairy, and other products that are related, eggs.
00:02:45.600Now, you can say whether or not it's good for us to have these supply management tariffs on the United States and it protects our own market and maybe their market's more subsidized than us, so we need to do this.
00:02:56.020that's a bag of cats that we can untangle another day the thing is that over time we have never been
00:03:03.740willing to touch supply management when it's the main thing trump always mentions how can we not
00:03:09.680find a creative solution to wind down our supply management system protect our farmers until they
00:03:16.260get used to the open market and get lower tariffs on everything else that's the thing i always
00:03:21.720notice he always brings up this thing more than anything and it's the one red line that most of
00:03:26.880our politicians draw we're never touching supply management it's like guys supply management isn't
00:03:31.660even good for canadians it artificially raises prices to benefit a small group of farmers that
00:03:37.740actually excludes a lot of other farmers so that they can maintain a sort of semi-government
00:03:42.600enforced monopoly and you know they get 95 95 of the business they do they do with the united
00:03:49.800states with us it's a tiny fraction of that number it's not a big number at all and yet uh
00:03:56.120you know we give them military we give them icebreakers they want icebreakers we work with
00:04:02.440them we buy icebreakers we have a lot of we have 11 of them right now under construction and they
00:04:08.680want to know if they can use icebreakers so many things and they feel entitled and you know they're
00:04:14.140not a state there's nothing they have that we need we have more energy than they had we have
00:04:21.040all the lumber you could possibly use we have everything we have we don't need and they have
00:04:27.760to treat our country with respect they've been very very bad to our farmers in particular so yeah
00:04:33.460I want to get back to the crux of that by moving to the comment of him talking about the three weeks
00:04:37.780because that's where I think what why this is all coming to a head in my opinion is because
00:04:44.080the Carney liberals had this idea that as they get closer to the midterms, Trump is going to
00:04:50.120cave in some way. And that so or he's going to lose the midterms, then he's going to want to
00:04:55.280like have a peace deal and give you like a big concession on trade. It's like, it's not going
00:05:00.460to happen. And I think what's going on is that they realize that if you get past the midterms,
00:05:05.120and this hurts Trump in many states, as it probably should, again, tariffs are not good
00:05:09.460for local economies oftentimes people don't really like them but if this hurts trump in the midterms
00:05:14.820because you didn't make a deal with them he's definitely never going to make a deal so i'm
00:05:18.700wondering now the canadian government's realizing they're not going to be able to play chicken with
00:05:22.140trump and get him to just move off all the tariffs so we do need to hammer out an actual deal at the
00:05:27.840table well let's get back to that three weeks comment i think what's going to happen is over
00:05:32.720the next three or four weeks they're going to come to us and they're going to say we need to get rid
00:05:38.380of all the tariffs. We're going to win everything. We even have Lake Ontario is now Lake America.
00:05:47.340And that's been done, by the way. It actually just got done. It was just completed. But
00:05:54.060they're going to come in and they're going to say, sir, we are sorry. They've treated
00:06:00.380the united states very very badly and so what at this time is mark carney posting about well i kind
00:06:09.500of already alluded to it earlier but this is the sort of thing that mark carney right now is posting
00:06:14.780on his own social media canada's building big again and some of the biggest payoffs will take
00:06:19.940time that's why we're giving canadians a boost right now i love how basically the first part
00:06:24.420is him trying to brag about something that he hasn't done acknowledge that it will take a lot
00:06:29.420time and now he's going to give you a check for some he's going to give you some cash going on he
00:06:33.720says the canadian grocery and essentials benefit is delivering up to 1890 this year to help families
00:06:39.420with the essentials a week from today more than 12 million canadians will see receive their next
00:06:44.380payment the idea and like they have a picture kind of symbolizing this policy of mark carney
00:06:49.660talking to families and whatnot let's be clear families who probably make too much money that
00:06:53.980it does not apply to them at all. The thing about the groceries and essentials benefit is that it
00:07:00.180only gives you up to $1,800 if you have a certain sized family and you are not doing very well at
00:07:06.720all. You have to be kind of struggling in order to get that much money. Struggling in part because
00:07:12.700the government's taxes and regulations are too high on the economy. But the liberals will never
00:07:17.840just take their foot off your neck and let the economy actually breathe because then they don't
00:07:23.860get to take credit for all the things that they're giving you. The Liberal Party loves to take your
00:07:28.820money and then give you back portions of it and pretend to be heroes for having done so. And I
00:07:35.260just kind of love all of the coping that's going on with Liberals simply because, well, you know,
00:07:41.860the Liberals are doing really well in the polls right now. And it's like, well, sure, but did you
00:07:46.380see David Eby in British Columbia? Mark Carney can't actually cash in on his large polling leads
00:07:53.580at the moment one of course he has a large lead he got into a fight with donald trump again that
00:07:57.940always helps him out but if he ever called a snap election he would plummet just the way that david0.97
00:08:03.520eby did even as david eby's main opponents the bc conservatives are completely pathetic and are not
00:08:09.780running on anything conservative again i you know a bias showing here i do work for the one bc party
00:08:14.900the conservatives are not even running on a tax cut in british columbia they said they will not
00:08:19.400touch taxes. They will not touch spending in government. And effectively, so far, the entire
00:08:24.740campaign is all the things that they're not going to do anything about. And they're still potentially
00:08:29.120going to beat the BCNDP simply because people hate snap elections like rat poison. If you just say
00:08:36.300Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump to justify a snap election well before the actual election
00:08:41.080supposed to take place, people will reject you hard. What else is the current Liberal Party
00:08:46.420posting right now oh let's check it out are they attacking the conservatives again that would not
00:08:51.840shock me at all let's let's check it out so we have this one from two hours ago six new laws and
00:08:57.64080 changes to the criminal code to make communities safer from coast to coast so another non-trump
00:09:02.680thing another indication that they're trying to get off the trump issue mr speaker my colleague
00:09:07.600asked a direct question when are we going to adopt laws to get tough on uh car thefts the answer was
00:09:13.000june of this past year mr speaker we develop these laws not in isolation behind closed doors
00:09:18.880they're trying to he's trying to sean frazier here's trying to take a jab at the conservatives
00:09:24.280they asked what are these changes on car thefts going to be made and it was actually june of this
00:09:30.460year or last year as he said it's like and nothing's happened that's the conservative's
00:09:34.980point is that every change that they've made is like an extra bureaucratic tool in a prosecutor's
00:09:40.680toolbox that doesn't actually do anything when it comes to stopping the automatic release of
00:09:46.920repeat and violent offenders they have more tools to try and hold them but they still have to jump
00:09:51.380through hoops to be able to hold them that's why our crime rate has pretty much remained pretty
00:09:57.300steady we have not fallen below our 2019 2022 levels yet uh and but the liberals are trying
00:10:04.340to declare victory simply because like crime went down like two percent or three percent in a year
00:10:08.900but it went down in alberta by eight percent and everywhere else it's like one percent half a
00:10:15.180percent or it's even up by a little bit the liberals live vicariously through alberta right
00:10:20.800now by meeting with police it's garnered the support of the canadian association of chiefs
00:10:25.400of police the ontario police association even the cops in his own community are supporting the
00:10:30.940bail measures that we put in place and guess what mr speaker after we put these laws in place they're
00:10:35.600not gonna bite the hand that feeds them oh look at all these endorsements we got from police
00:10:40.340uh organizations i'm like yeah you're the majority government if you give them anything they would
00:10:45.860take the tip of your shoe at this point when it comes to changes to the current uh like laws on
00:10:51.880bail of course they'll take anything it doesn't mean it's actually that substantial compared to
00:10:56.500what the conservatives would do we are starting some statistics to see the crime coming down
00:11:01.060specifically including auto thefts and home invasions in his province he tries to block
00:11:05.540progress every step of the way with or without his help we will build a stronger and safer
00:11:10.100so you know that's all very inspiring don't worry guys they made changes to criminal justice policy
00:11:17.920last year and um apparently it's supposed to be doing something at this point i think mark carney
00:11:24.320also posted another old clip of him talking again so much of this is just nothing about trump nothing
00:11:30.400about the trade war even though it is absolutely the hottest topic out there right now. Check out
00:11:35.880this one that they posted just two hours ago. We know in Canada that rail is more than a means of
00:11:41.460transportation. It's part of our country's story. It's a thread that's always connected us. The
00:11:48.300iconic via service that runs between Toronto and Vancouver over four days and four nights
00:11:53.320covers 4 000 kilometers thus far it's journeyed more than 150 million kilometers
00:12:00.220equal to almost 200 round trips to the moon every year 750 liters of maple syrup are consumed0.98
00:12:08.140on board she's so lame i hate this sort of like dumb canadian signaling you know that a lot of0.94
00:12:14.460maple syrup is concerned consumed on via rail and it's like ah isn't that funny i can't pay for0.97
00:12:20.920groceries food inflation is really bad you have not actually lowered taxes in any substantial way
00:12:27.100so what now but they're doing only this only talking about anything that isn't about donald
00:12:33.560trump and trade when just five days ago he was fear-mongering about the united states potentially
00:12:39.780invading canada coming over the border with jets and tanks in order to take our country that was
00:12:46.660obviously a bad play and that's why when we saw the intensity of the of the sphere mongering
00:12:51.540that peaked right there we then saw it quickly drop off and nothing else is being said conveniently
00:12:57.220around the time that trump through information that he's getting apparently predicts that the
00:13:01.960canadians are going to be back at the table in two or three weeks to try and hammer out a deal for
00:13:06.740no for no tariffs on trade and again he keeps mentioning the main issue everyone knows the
00:13:12.400americans have it's all about supply management mostly yes they threw out stuff about fentanyl
00:13:18.180they threw out stuff about illegal immigration over the borders and some other things like that
00:13:22.660but we need to deal with the supply management thing we could find some other way of incentivizing
00:13:28.200farmers to not freak out about it but how about we get the tariffs off of people when it comes to
00:13:33.800steel and aluminum and softwood and autos so our economy can function i know that his main base of
00:13:40.880people are people like laura babcock from the laptop class who do not care about the economy
00:13:45.860because they don't actually exist in the real economy but at some point the liberals are going
00:13:49.840to have to get real and try and play hardball for the things that canadians need we need lower0.97
00:13:56.000tariffs on those major sectors we do not need bill c11 bill c18 our stupid china ev dumping deal0.68
00:14:02.780and supply management those are wants if anything many of those are in fact things that are already0.79
00:14:08.420detrimental to us that we should be getting rid of anyways. Anyways, that's it for me today, guys.
