00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:06.280 Great news, everyone. We have a brand new stupid controversy to talk about on the show today 0.91
00:00:12.240 between the Carney liberals and the Trump administration in the United States 0.99
00:00:16.880 over Canadian forest fires sending smoke over the border into major American cities on the East
00:00:22.980 Coast. Now, right off the bat, I want to say that pretty much everyone's sounding off in partisan
00:00:29.380 and ways on this issue are mostly wrong. The Trump administration is mostly wrong. The Carney
00:00:35.820 liberals are mostly wrong. And then there's also this faction of like red Tory opponents of pure
00:00:42.200 poly of attacking conservative creators and influencers in Canada for taking a middle ground
00:00:48.120 approach on this issue and refusing to just say that Trump is only wrong and we all must back the
00:00:53.440 Carney liberals. Guys, I stand for the truce. Trump's wrong. Carney is wrong. And I will explain
00:01:01.140 why in this video. But before we get into the post that Trump made yesterday that kicked off
00:01:06.780 this whole controversy, I just want to remind you guys, if you like the show, make sure to leave a
00:01:10.720 like on the video. Subscribe if you're not yet a subscriber. Hit the join button below the video
00:01:15.540 if you want to become a member of the channel and better support it. And also, if you live in the
00:01:20.520 riding of Calgary Curry, which is a provincial Alberta riding, consider signing up on my website
00:01:26.680 pinned at the top of the comments because I am considering running for the UCP nomination
00:01:31.740 for this particular riding in Calgary. If you live within the borders of that riding,
00:01:37.620 sign up at wyattclaypool.com pinned at the top of the comments because I am considering taking on
00:01:43.060 the incumbent NDP MLA, Janet Aramanco, an insane drug site advocate to try and win back the riding
00:01:50.000 for the UCP in the upcoming provincial election in 2027. Anyways, all that out of the way. Now
00:01:57.260 let's get into the post by Donald Trump. And again, prefacing, I think he's mostly wrong about
00:02:02.420 this. He makes some good points. He is correct about some things. But overall, I think he's
00:02:07.860 taking a hyperbolic position in order to basically just score points against Canada here. So yesterday,
00:02:15.440 Trump said, we are holding Canada responsible for the fact that they are not properly maintaining
00:02:22.060 their forests and brushed therein, and the United States is being unnecessarily invaded by filthy,
00:02:28.900 polluted, and unhealthy air, the quality of which is dangerous and totally unacceptable.
00:02:34.140 I will call the Prime Minister during the day to find out what they are going to do about it.
00:02:38.560 The cost is incalculable. Canada has refused to engage in basic forest management and debris
00:02:43.720 removal, knowing that such refusal will lead to exactly this result. This is willful negligence
00:02:50.800 and becoming a yearly occurrence, costing the United States billions of dollars, which cost
00:02:55.680 of this pollution must of necessity be added to the tariffs Canada is currently paying.
00:03:01.800 Thank you for your attention to this matter, President Donald J. Trump.
00:03:05.300 Now, Trump said some things that are incorrect here and some things that are correct. Incorrect
00:03:10.880 is that you can just stop smoke going over the southern border with forest management.
00:03:16.480 It's Canada. We're the second biggest country on the planet. Our boreal forest area is massive.
00:03:23.420 You can't do forest management for all of it. It's just not possible. Now, there is a nugget
00:03:29.300 of truth here that Canada does, in fact, on top of the fact that we have a lot of forest,
00:03:34.040 also has trash forest management. We have lots and lots of fires in places like British Columbia
00:03:40.860 specifically because of the ability for the inability to for logging companies to actually
00:03:47.080 access forest areas and actually harvest trees out of it. We just let forest sit for decades and
00:03:54.120 decades with not one logging company allowed to enter the area to harvest anything. And naturally
00:03:59.860 over time, you get a lot of deadwood built up. And it's not just the fact that the forest sector
00:04:04.800 isn't able to get in there and harvest logs that kind of create fire breaks naturally from their
00:04:10.040 activities, but also when the liberals are informed about problems with forest management,
00:04:15.860 with Deadwood building up, they ignored it. Remember this from a few years ago when there
00:04:21.500 was a wildfire risk to Jasper that then Environment Minister Stephen Gilboa completely ignored,
00:04:28.040 resulting in a lot of the town burning down because he decided that he was more focused
00:04:32.880 on opposing the oil and gas industry than actually dealing with the fact that there was a large fire
00:04:39.220 risk because of all the deadwood building up close to populated centers. So, no. Can Canada
00:04:45.220 stop wildfires from sending smoke into the United States? No. Just as there are parts of the United
00:04:50.660 States that are going to have wildfires pretty much every year just because they're remote.
00:04:54.900 Fair enough. There are excessive amounts of fire in Canada because we don't do forest management,
00:04:59.700 because our forest sector is so held back. But again, the truth is somewhere in the middle.
00:05:03.840 Trump is wrong here, mostly, and no, he shouldn't be tariffing us for smoke, just as Canada shouldn't tariff the United States because of wildfires that come out of California, in part also because of bad forest management around there.
00:05:18.620 But now I want to move on to how the CBC is covering this issue, and then I want to jump
00:05:25.440 into the hypocrisy of the Liberals. Now, the Liberals are already partly wrong because, yeah,
00:05:31.160 they do do bad forest management. That's also a provincial issue as well. So Trump has partially
00:05:36.000 caught us out. He's being hyperbolic about it, which makes him then in turn wrong in a lot of
00:05:41.820 ways. But Canada is also deeply hypocritical when you actually look at the record. So let's 0.98
00:05:48.120 We're going back to X here, and I want to show you how Canada has been, how the CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, has been covering this issue in their coverage.
00:05:59.980 Sorry, I was falling all over myself rhetorically there trying to queue up the clip.
00:06:03.680 We don't need to watch from the very start here.
00:06:05.760 Let's just start from where they're talking about the spread of smoke, which you can see in red on screen there.
00:06:10.340 Ontario and into the Great Lakes region,
00:06:13.280 blanketing more than a dozen states,
00:06:15.260 causing some of the worst air pollution on record in many U.S. major cities.
00:06:21.200 And as Karen Pauls explains,
00:06:23.240 Trump is joining a chorus of Republicans blaming Canada.
00:06:27.740 Thick smoke from Canadian wildfires hanging heavy over American cities,
00:06:32.720 including Washington, D.C.
00:06:35.820 It's just because it's so smoky. I don't like it.
00:06:38.620 I don't know. It's just very concerning.
00:06:40.340 In Philadelphia, a pilot told Air Traffic Control they're losing visibility.
00:06:45.860 We are starting to pick up some ash on our windshield.
00:06:48.680 Republican lawmakers writing letters to complain.
00:06:51.760 Trump's administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency is also concerned.
00:06:56.480 They should be preventing these fires as best as they can.
00:06:59.560 Now, U.S. President Donald Trump is slamming Canada's response.
00:07:03.740 After departing D.C. through smoke, he posted online,
00:07:07.380 Canada has refused to engage in basic forest management and debris removal,
00:07:12.640 calling it willful negligence and vowing to add the cost of this pollution
00:07:16.860 to the tariffs Canada is currently paying.
00:07:19.920 In Ontario...
00:07:21.320 If there's some politicians out there chirping away,
00:07:24.560 well, maybe what you should do rather than complain is send support, send help.
00:07:29.340 I think a lot of these folks are a little bit misinformed
00:07:31.860 and are trying to score some cheap political points.
00:07:33.820 Some experts frustrated by American claims Canada has not invested in forest thinning, fuel reduction and prescribed burns.
00:07:42.820 Some of these fires are literally thousands of kilometers away from the nearest human settlement and road.
00:07:49.820 Even if we were to try to get to these fires, we wouldn't be able to airlift enough equipment and enough people to be actually able to manage them.
00:08:02.820 Now, I'm going to cut off here because in part, many of these people like Doug Ford and the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources, or I think it was something else about like, you know, natural management, I don't really know.
00:08:15.360 They're partly right. They are partly right. You can't really deal with all the fires in Canada. It's just a consequence of how big the country is.
00:08:23.320 But the Americans are not wrong when they say we basically do no debris removal and no forest thinning. That would actually help.
00:08:30.880 And by the way, after the really bad forest fires that were in British Columbia a few years ago, I actually noticed, because I drive through British Columbia all the time, in places like Sparwood, you can tell that they are doing a lot more controlled burns around the area to make sure if wildfires broke out, they wouldn't actually approach the city of Sparwood.
00:08:49.380 It just wouldn't be enough fuel to actually get there, and it would make sure to reduce the intensity of the fires.
00:08:56.080 Now, with all the increased military spending that we should have been doing over the years, and we're finally doing it, in a lot of ways, if we could, because a lot of the infrastructure money that we invest in can be both classified as normal domestic infrastructure as well as military spending, we should be investing way more in water bombers.
00:09:13.360 We should be doing more forest management, just like we neglected to do before the Jasper fires that basically burnt down the entire city, including a historical hotel.
00:09:22.720 We should. We should do this stuff. It's not wrong for the Americans to say we should.
00:09:27.600 Now, they are also then taking it to the next level by acting as if somehow there's a way for us to make sure no smoke is going over the border.
00:09:34.420 At the same time, we can't just say, oh, it happens. This is an incredibly large amount of smoke, making it, creating record pollution problems in places like New York City and Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
00:09:48.560 So, you know, it's one of those things that everyone's wrong. Everyone's not being cooperative. Everyone's trying to score points.
00:09:55.540 Even Doug Ford there, in a lot of ways, is trying to score points rather than just getting to work.
00:10:00.320 Now, they're saying the Americans should be sending support up north. Should they be? Yes. Yes, they should. And guess what? Shame on them if they don't send support. We sent support down to the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles to help fight the fires out in California. Now, maybe the Americans are going to send it up north. That is yet to be seen. The fires are kind of still early on right now in terms of the fire season.
00:10:22.520 but my goodness people somewhere in the middle lies the truth but the way that what you get from
00:10:28.040 the cbc is basically canada can't do anything and i'm out i'm about to get into the hypocrisy
00:10:33.200 element of this when it comes to the liberals indigenous communities among the worst hit
00:10:37.740 and some say the americans actually have a point indigenous people have always known that it's
00:10:43.320 important to have a relationship with fire this metis fire keeper says government should enable
00:10:49.120 indigenous people to manage the forests like they always have not only in response now it is a little
00:10:55.820 bit silly to say like they always have i don't think back you know 400 years ago indigenous
00:11:00.660 people were exactly managing forest fires because nobody nobody back then really was uh you know
00:11:06.380 people always did controlled burns maybe near their area but i always hate when the media makes
00:11:10.960 it seem like it's something unique to indigenous people no it's a human thing if you live near a
00:11:15.160 forest. But know what? One credit to the CBC. Of course, it had to be an Indigenous angle,
00:11:20.400 but they're right. They're basically saying, hey, wouldn't it be great to have some local 0.99
00:11:24.420 forest management in these remote areas? Know what? I'm actually fine having government forest
00:11:29.520 management jobs, especially for Indigenous communities. You're already up there, and so
00:11:33.780 we can now have basically an industry of people who help thin forests in remote areas, who help
00:11:38.800 basically clear up deadwood. That's your job all year round, and it could save the country billions
00:11:43.200 of dollars in damage. Fantastic idea, actually, here. But again, we're going to get to the
00:11:48.920 hypocrisy element here in just a little bit, because the Liberals cannot claim, well, this
00:11:53.580 happens every year, and you can't, there's no way of stopping it, and the Americans are being
00:11:57.500 unrealistic, because I'm about to get to what the Liberals would constantly say about forest fires
00:12:01.580 back in the day. But in those prevention and mitigation activities, before these fires even
00:12:06.680 happen and then recovery afterwards the canadian embassy in washington says it and the ambassador
00:12:13.480 are engaging directly with the trump administration and state officials on the wildfire emergency and
00:12:20.040 its effect on americans karen pauls cbc news winnipeg now the element of hypocrisy here
00:12:28.440 kind of goes back to stephen gilbeau and the jasper fire not the fact that they didn't do
00:12:32.840 anything with forest management to try and prevent the fires but the element here of what
00:12:38.360 stephen gilbo did instead of managing the forests around jasper what were they doing green policies
00:12:45.640 anti-oil and gas policies every single flipping year up to this point up until carney took over
00:12:52.520 and trump started blaming canada for forest fires we would always say because remember it was a
00:12:56.760 press conference just the other day that when the forest fire smoke started going to the united
00:13:01.160 States. And Carney was asked about Trump and Americans basically having a problem with Canadian
00:13:07.500 forest fires and the lack of the air pollution it's causing. Carney shot back when saying,
00:13:12.420 well, you know, the Americans haven't been investing a lot in fighting climate change
00:13:15.680 and green stuff, unlike us, because that actually mirrored what the old liberal position was.
00:13:20.580 The whole idea was that forest fires spawn out of the ground simply because the Alberta oil and gas
00:13:26.220 industry exists. And shouldn't we shut it down? Because then all the forest fires would go away
00:13:30.380 if we just got rid of our oil and gas industry.
00:13:33.840 Even though if you go back to times like 1821,
00:13:36.860 one-sixth of all of the land of New Brunswick burnt down a forest fire,
00:13:40.580 I don't think it was because of the burgeoning oil and gas industry of New Brunswick in the 1820s.
00:13:46.020 This is the thing that is maddening.
00:13:48.160 The liberals always used to say,
00:13:50.080 well, forest fires are just what we get for having an oil and gas industry.
00:13:54.260 So is Trump technically right based on old liberal rhetoric?
00:13:57.340 not factually right, but rhetorically right, based on old liberal rhetoric, that forest fires are
00:14:02.840 caused because we're not doing enough for climate change. We're not anti-oil and gas enough. We don't
00:14:06.460 have enough green energy policies. We're not investing enough in solar. That's why forest
00:14:10.860 fires exist. Because that was what they always used to say and claim, is that this just demonstrates
00:14:16.960 we need the carbon tax more than ever, that we cannot build a new pipeline and all this stuff.
00:14:21.560 And that was factually wrong. But it's deeply hypocritical now when you have liberals saying,
00:14:25.500 well you can't say that you can the trump can't say that this is a canadian problem look how much
00:14:31.020 force we have we couldn't possibly manage all that okay so are we in agreement that there's
00:14:36.280 no way of really stopping forest fires it's not about oil and gas it's not really about forest
00:14:40.700 management although it is about forest management let's be clear yeah you can't stop all fires but
00:14:45.160 you can reduce the severity by doing some forest management just as the indigenous woman who's the
00:14:49.640 fire advisor said. Good point from her. That was a really solid point. But yes, we can't stop all 0.98
00:14:56.140 the fires. But is it about oil and gas? Or is it about force management? Or is it the new liberal
00:15:02.160 position that you just can't help it at all? I'm actually wondering what Stephen Gilbeau is going
00:15:06.660 to say about all this, because he'll probably be the one guy still saying, no, no, no, it's because
00:15:10.080 we have not yet nuked the Alberta oil and gas industry from orbit. That's why these forest fires
00:15:15.200 are breaking out. But now I need to jump over to something else, because we have some liberals
00:15:21.500 coming out of the woodwork to basically say that conservative creators and influencers are betraying
00:15:27.600 Canada by not jumping on board with Mark Carney and the liberals and opposing everything Trump
00:15:34.120 is saying entirely. By the way, I mostly disagree with them. I just happen to mostly disagree with
00:15:39.340 the liberals as well. So friend of the channel, and when I say friend of the channel, I just mean
00:15:43.920 i like pointing and laughing at them gator gum here says is modern canadian conservatism seriously
00:15:49.320 blaming the prime minister for fires and siding with trump for tariffs while the u.s has more
00:15:54.600 fires in canada is modern canadian conservatism seriously pretending that the federal government
00:16:00.440 is responsible for the premier slashing their fire budgets well as we saw before it was actually
00:16:06.140 the federal government at times that was slashing the fire budgets and i don't believe actually is
00:16:12.200 that true? If anything, I think probably the premiers, because of previous bad fires, have
00:16:16.820 been increasing them. But nobody's blaming the prime minister for fires. I'm not. I can't blame
00:16:24.360 Carney for bad forest management specifically, because he hasn't really been around all that
00:16:27.780 long. It has been a problem with liberals and with certain premiers that they have not been
00:16:32.980 actually engaging in good forest management, that they have been stymieing the forest sector. In
00:16:37.960 British Columbia, they're decimating their forest sector for no reason, basically because green
00:16:42.720 activists don't like it, and every tree is apparently old growth, and you're not allowed
00:16:46.600 to cut anything down. That is causing fires to be worse. It's a bad thing. But nobody's just
00:16:52.560 blaming Carney and siding with Trump. We're saying, you know, some of his points are fine,
00:16:57.760 some of them are definitely not good, but to just blindly agree with Carney, because he's
00:17:03.560 the Canadian prime minister is deeply unprincipled. And guess what? I'm about to disagree with some
00:17:10.860 conservatives on this issue, because there are conservatives around basically saying that other
00:17:15.520 conservatives should not actually side with Trump, but not even give even like the slightest bit of
00:17:22.820 credence to the position of the Americans here. We have this guy, Matt Spoke, who's actually one of
00:17:28.080 the people who manages the can to strong and free uh organization they put on a lot of conferences
00:17:34.020 around canada a lot of supposedly conservative conferences i've always seen them as like a
00:17:39.320 bunch of red tories mostly a lot of people just engaged in fiscal issues and they're kind of
00:17:44.280 rebranding themselves as cultural conservatives a lot of these guys who like kind of label
00:17:48.480 themselves as like the new right are really just relabeled red tories who say that they like john
00:17:53.960 a mcdonald's and they don't like immigration it's like cool that's where every other conservative
00:17:58.500 was already at but they call themselves cultural conservatives because you know they're not social
00:18:03.080 conservatives they're not usually fiscal hawks and they're not even really foreign policy
00:18:08.140 conservatives or freedom conservatives so i don't so they're just kind of like vaguely culturally
00:18:12.780 conservative but then they actually tend to be very big government canadian nationalists
00:18:17.400 and when i say canadian nationalists i say that as opposed to canadian patriots who are willing
00:18:23.240 to disagree with our own government when they're wrong. That's always been my ethos. This is a
00:18:28.880 patriotic Canadian channel, not a nationalist Canadian channel. I believe that Canada can be
00:18:34.420 wrong sometimes. We're not just right because we're Canadians. We're right when we're right,
00:18:39.500 and we're wrong when we're wrong, and I want Canada to be better and more right every day.
00:18:44.660 But Matt Spoke here said, Canadian Conservatives, remember that you owe your loyalty first to other
00:18:50.780 canadians even those you disagree with before giving it to conservatives in other countries 0.95
00:18:55.640 no matter how much you might share ideology can i say that this is the most wimpy pathetic thing 0.95
00:19:03.160 to actually base your ideology on base what you wear what positions you take i am you're simply 0.81
00:19:09.140 going to be loyal to other canadians because they're not americans or they're not brits or
00:19:14.960 they're not australians or they're not you know they're not like i don't know people from the
00:19:19.060 Bahamas. Depends on who's right. In this situation, I'm saying nobody's right. I'm saying everyone
00:19:24.720 looks like an idiot, including the red Tories trying to, like, wag their finger at Canadian 1.00
00:19:29.400 creators for covering the fact that, once again, Carney looks really rhetorically bad up against 1.00
00:19:35.220 Trump. Because Carney really can't argue back against Trump based on his previous rhetoric.
00:19:40.680 Now, again, is Trump factually not right? No. Carney isn't factually right either. And Carney
00:19:45.640 sucks at playing hardball on trade. 1.00
00:19:48.500 I've been bringing her up a lot recently. 0.99
00:19:50.500 I used to call her Gloria because I'm bad with names.
00:19:53.360 But the Mexican president, Claudia Scheinbaum, 1.00
00:19:56.620 has been very good at playing her cards right. 0.99
00:19:59.140 And she has less cards to play than Canada. 0.86
00:20:01.280 Weaker economy. 1.00
00:20:02.480 She is on a rhetorical deficit 1.00
00:20:04.080 because Mexico does definitely pose 0.91
00:20:08.540 a border security threat to the Americans
00:20:10.440 based on all the crime that comes over the southern border,
00:20:13.020 all the drugs and whatnot.
00:20:14.060 but she's doing a better job negotiating on trade with Trump. Trump keeps bullying Carney
00:20:21.320 because he knows he can get away with it, because Carney is scared of him. But this is what I said
00:20:26.940 in response to Matt's spoke, and I thought it was a good response, you know, narcissist that I am,
00:20:32.000 I think I'm right here. I said, I owe my loyalty to God and the truth first, and patriotic loyalty
00:20:38.960 to other Canadians means sometimes strongly disagreeing with some fellow citizens. Every
00:20:44.120 true conservative is okay with sometimes being on the opposite side of an issue to fellow Canadians
00:20:49.060 and we contend for what we think is right even if it is a minority position at the time. And that
00:20:55.380 is where I so vehemently disagree with the worldview of red Tories and cultural conservatives.
00:21:02.620 I'm not just going to be on Team Canada because I'm Canadian. I'm going to be on Team Canada when
00:21:07.460 we're doing the right thing. Sometimes you have to leave your own army's camp and force them to
00:21:12.420 actually take the right position. You have to fight your own people a little bit in order to
00:21:16.580 get them to go back in the right direction. It's rhetorically stupid of us to get into a 0.99
00:21:23.320 naysaying fight with Trump over who's right about the forest fires. No one's right. So let's move 0.98
00:21:28.000 on. Let's just agree with forest management. Say that the U.S. is kind of being ridiculous with
00:21:33.640 the tariffs. We sent our water bombers down to California. That'd probably be the best thing for 0.70
00:21:38.340 Carnia to do here. Hey, we've been good neighbors on fires. We apologize for this. We're going to
00:21:44.440 engage in better forest management just as America at times has had deficits of forest management.
00:21:48.740 This is something that we need a new North American strategy on. I think that would be
00:21:52.160 the best way of doing it. Disagree strongly that this requires any forest fire tariffs considering
00:21:57.340 we could tariff California over the exact same justification. But generally speaking, guys,
00:22:03.640 I really don't think it's a smart idea to get into the mud on an issue where nobody really looks good.
00:22:09.640 Because again, the liberals have been blaming our own oil and gas industry for wildfires for years.
00:22:15.220 Now they're doing an about face just because they want to disagree with Donald Trump,
00:22:18.680 when usually wall-to-wall coverage after a fire in Canada would all be about how Canada is basically burning itself down
00:22:26.320 because we refuse to get away from the demon that is oil and gas.
00:22:31.420 But what are you going to do, guys?
00:22:32.520 But it's very telling that that Matt Spoke post was being shared around by people like Jason Kenney. Jason Kenney posted exactly into what Matt Spoke said. You can really tell that Jason Kenney is trying to run to be the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada right now.
00:22:52.440 All these people, all of these red Tory cultural conservatives, the guys like Matt Spoke, Ben Woodfindon, Anthony Koch, Corey Tonight, Nick Kuvalis, Adam Beattie, all these individuals are coming out of the woodwork to constantly naysay basically allies of pure poly of all the creators tend to be very friendly with the poly of conservatives right now.
00:23:16.280 Now, I've never really spoken that much to Paliyev before, never came on my show. I've never had a sitting conservative MP on my show. But generally speaking, I think they're doing a pretty good job. And I force them to try to be more conservative in areas where I think there's a big conservative deficit in terms of their policies.
00:23:33.700 You've heard it a thousand times from me before.
00:23:35.940 We need a 20% tax cut across the board to run on the next federal election,
00:23:40.560 because I don't like conservatives playing Price is Right politics,
00:23:44.060 where we just run a little bit to the right of the liberals on issues.
00:23:47.180 Not good enough. You need more stuff.
00:23:49.000 But this is to say, I'm not some fanboy of the conservative party under Polyev.
00:23:53.520 There's some good stuff. There's some bad stuff that I want them to improve on.
00:23:56.800 But all of these guys are currently basically trying to create a wedge right now
00:24:01.600 between Polyev and the base.
00:24:03.660 And in order to do that,
00:24:04.900 they're trying to attack creators
00:24:06.580 as being like unpatriotic,
00:24:08.500 people like Jasmine Lane
00:24:10.340 and Josh Udall at the Elevate
00:24:12.540 and, you know, people like myself
00:24:14.800 and Mark Nixon and all of those.
00:24:16.700 We're not siding with Trump here.
00:24:18.540 I'm not.
00:24:19.660 We are basically saying
00:24:20.760 that there's no clear person
00:24:21.980 who's correct here.
00:24:23.140 And in fact, the Canadian government
00:24:24.400 has painted themselves
00:24:25.440 into a corner a bit
00:24:26.400 based on their past rhetoric
00:24:27.760 and partly crappy forest management
00:24:30.020 because it's notorious.
00:24:31.160 We're notorious for bad forest management.
00:24:33.560 Doesn't mean that there would be no smoke going over the border if we had good stuff.
00:24:36.760 Something's wrong about that.
00:24:38.140 But, kind of right in terms of the fact that a lot of local cities and towns and villages are under fire threat 0.80
00:24:45.320 because we don't give a crap about actually managing our forests
00:24:49.160 because environmental red tape prevents us from doing anything about it.
00:24:53.200 Anyways, with all that being said, thank you guys for watching this video.
00:24:57.140 Make sure to like, share, subscribe.
00:24:58.700 And of course, if you live in the Calgary-Curry area of Calgary for the provincial election, consider signing up at my website link in the description below, wyattclaypool.com.
00:25:10.620 If you want to become a UCP member and potentially support me in the nomination race for this riding, it would be an extremely difficult riding to win in a provincial election, but that's specifically why I might want to run in it.
00:25:23.800 I think it's fun to try and actually claw back a riding that the NDP currently hold, rather than just trying to run for easy ridings and take a seat in the legislature.
00:25:33.400 I do not want a seat in the Alberta legislature unless I can win it away from the NDP, which is, I think, the correct position to take as a conservative.
00:25:41.720 You don't want simply a free ride. You want the tough slog and winning it back from the hard left.
00:25:47.800 Anyways, with all that being said, thank you guys for watching.
00:25:50.580 Like, share, subscribe, like I already said.
00:25:52.680 Ugh, repeating myself.
00:25:54.580 See you guys next time.
