In this episode, Pastor Ken teaches us that sin is not only a consequence of sin, but it is also the result of sin itself. God's laws are not arbitrary or capricious. They are based on the nature and character of God, who is our heavenly father, the true and perfect parent. What he deems is morally right is also good, and sin is its own punishment.

00:00:00.000 All right, listen, guys, I get it.
00:00:02.080 Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry
00:00:04.780 because you're spending your cash and your lives
00:00:07.080 on raising young children
00:00:08.680 in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
00:00:10.720 Praise God for you and that endeavor.
00:00:13.840 However, algorithms are a thing.
00:00:16.360 Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
00:00:18.580 And one major way that you can help to expand
00:00:21.760 the reach and effectiveness of this ministry
00:00:24.160 that doesn't cost you a dime
00:00:25.880 is by spending just a few moments
00:00:28.220 leaving us a five-star review. Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share
00:00:34.780 our podcast with a friend. We hope you'll take the time to do so. Thank you so much. God bless.
00:00:42.340 Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the
00:00:47.040 mouth of God. You're listening to Daily Truth. There are earthly consequences for sin as well.
00:00:54.980 And one of the earthly consequences for sin is sin. There is a sense in which sin is its own
00:01:03.060 punishment. That sin is by nature destructive. God's laws, to state that in the positive sense
00:01:11.380 now, God's laws are not capricious. They are not arbitrary. The thing that God deems as being
00:01:19.240 lawful, that is morally right, is also the thing that is beneficial, prosperous, good. What God
00:01:29.200 says is right, we must trust that that thing which is morally right is also good. The thing that is
00:01:37.840 morally right for mankind is also the thing that brings life for mankind. The thing that is good
00:01:44.920 for mankind just like a godly parent now we're not god so we sin we're fallen and so even our
00:01:51.820 parenting parenting is fallen and sinful but you and i seeking to be good parents seeking to
00:01:58.720 exemplify the nature and character of god as our heavenly father the true and perfect parent we
00:02:06.440 in our parenting seek to have laws and rules for our children that are for their good so we're
00:02:13.200 saying, you can't do this. And it's not because we're trying to steal the child's fun, right?
00:02:20.420 We're not saying, now I know that if you did this, it would be a blast. And I just, there's
00:02:27.500 something about when my child giggles and smiles that I just can't stand. And so I want to take
00:02:33.280 that away. No, right? It's not, you can't play in the street because we all know the street
00:02:37.440 is the most fun place for a child to be.
00:02:41.300 And we just don't want to see our children happy.
00:02:44.040 No, you can't play in the street
00:02:46.240 because it's dangerous.
00:02:47.820 Because it's dangerous.
00:02:49.160 And so it is with God, our Heavenly Father.
00:02:51.640 What he deems is morally right,
00:02:54.100 we can trust that that's merely one side of the coin.
00:02:57.000 The other side is that that is also good.
00:03:00.620 Therefore, on the flip side,
00:03:02.100 now going back to sin,
00:03:03.780 that which is lawless,
00:03:05.060 outside of God's standard of morality, of rightness, we can say that sin is not only wrong,
00:03:13.340 but also harmful. So God's law is right and good. Sin is wrong and bad. Not just wrong,
00:03:23.880 but destructive, harmful, hurtful. And in that sense, we can say that sin is its own consequence.
00:03:33.940 Sin is its own punishment.
00:03:36.580 All right, hold up.
00:03:37.280 You're not going to want to miss this.
00:03:38.280 I'm going to tell you exactly how our spring 2024 conference is going to go down.
00:03:42.880 Here's the title of the conference, Blueprints for Christendom 2.0.
00:03:47.280 Subtitle, Seven Doctrines for Ruling the World.
00:03:50.580 We're going to have seven primary sessions covering each of these doctrines for ruling
00:03:56.140 the world righteously.
00:03:57.620 Number one, Reformed Confessionalism.
00:04:00.360 That's going to be Pastor Doug Wilson preaching on that topic.
00:04:03.440 Then we've got Covenant Theology with Pastor Brian Sauve.
00:04:06.880 Then we've got Biblical Patriarchy with Pastor Michael Foster.
00:04:10.560 Then we've got Presuppositionalism with Dr. Joseph Boot.
00:04:14.640 Then we've got Kuyperianism, All of Christ for All of Life, where we're going to welcome
00:04:19.600 Pastor Doug Wilson back for a second session.
00:04:22.420 Then we've got General Equity Theonomy.
00:04:25.240 We're going to have Dr. Joseph Boot come and do a second session on that topic.
00:04:29.040 And then lastly, we'll have Pastor Dale Partridge on Post-Millennial Eschatology.
00:04:34.140 In addition to these seven sessions, we're also going to have not one, but two live podcasts.
00:04:40.540 On the first day of the conference, that's Friday, March 1st, we're going to have a live
00:04:44.820 Theology Applied podcast.
00:04:46.900 I'll be on the stage hosting the discussion with Douglas Wilson, Michael Foster, and Eric
00:04:52.360 Kahn from It's Good to Be a Man.
00:04:54.380 The topic is going to be all about biblical patriarchy.
00:04:57.520 We're going to specifically be parsing out, distinguishing the biblical doctrinal differences
00:05:03.080 between patriarchy and complementarianism.
00:05:06.220 Again, that's Friday, March 1st, the first day of the conference, a live Theology Applied
00:05:11.140 podcast on biblical patriarchy.
00:05:13.460 Then we're going to have the next day, that's Saturday, March 2nd, a live Haunted Cosmos
00:05:19.340 podcast.
00:05:20.280 I'll be hosting this discussion with Brian Sauve and Ben Garrett.
00:05:24.300 We're going to be talking about the Nephilim.
00:05:25.820 We're going to be talking about the Watchers.
00:05:27.620 We're going to be talking about what creatures currently are living underneath the surface
00:05:31.740 of the earth and chasms of the deep.
00:05:33.720 It's going to be wacky.
00:05:34.780 It's going to be weird, but it will also be thoroughly biblical and incredibly unhinged.
00:05:40.240 So you're not going to want to miss these two live podcasts, Theology Applied, on Friday,
00:05:45.100 March 1st, the first day of the conference on biblical patriarchy with Doug Wilson, Michael
00:05:50.200 Foster, Eric Kahn, and myself.
00:05:51.800 And then the next day of the conference, Saturday, March 2nd, a live Haunted Cosmos podcast with Brian Sauve and Ben Garrett and myself on the Nephilim, the Watchers, and what lies under the surface of the earth.
00:06:05.540 And then the conference will hold over for one final, the third and final day.
00:06:09.640 That's going to be the Lord's Day, Sunday, March 3rd, where one of our speakers will be holding over to preach the Lord's Day sermon, and I'll be leading us in worship through the liturgy.
00:06:20.200 So we've got three days, a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of 2024,
00:06:26.780 blueprints for Christendom 2.0, seven doctrines for ruling the world.
00:06:31.760 You're not going to want to miss this conference.

00:06:38.860 We are ending the early bird rate on August 31st at 1159 p.m.
00:06:44.220 That will be the final chance to get into this conference at an affordable, cheap rate.
