The more you become like Christ, the more aware you become of the ways in which you still need to improve. The more you are becoming like Christ in progressive righteousness, in sanctification, the worse you feel. But as you become more like God, you are also becoming painfully aware of all the ways that you are not like Christ. What sin are you trying to mortify? What sin do you are trying to put to death? What idols do you seek to snuff out? What areas of the flesh are you mortifying?
