00:00:43.200 Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone,
00:00:46.080 but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
00:00:49.080 You're listening to Daily Truth.
00:00:50.880 i think it's also worth mentioning that not only is work not a result of the curse but we could
00:00:59.520 also say that that difficult work or hard work is also not a result of the curse when we're careful
00:01:08.680 and we look at genesis chapter 3 as we will in the coming weeks and we see the curse that god
00:01:14.760 prescribed even to the ground, to the earth itself, the curse is that the earth would work
00:01:20.560 against our work. There would be a sense of opposition. Now, that doesn't mean that work
00:01:27.960 is good, which it is, and that hard work is the result of the curse. No, it means that hard work
00:01:36.520 paying off less, hard work producing less, that's the result of the curse. See, to be in an
00:01:46.980 environment, to be in a vocation, if you will, where you're very gifted, and perhaps for whatever
00:01:53.140 reason, the variables are just lining up to where there's just not a lot of opposition. There's not
00:01:57.320 a lot of hindrances in that field, or at least at that time, as it pertains to you. That means
00:02:03.220 there's not, your work is not working against you. And so what's the result of that? The result
00:02:10.400 is that you don't have to work very hard. No, the result is you can work really hard and your hard
00:02:15.820 work will really pay off. I think of prodigies. Think of Mozart. The fact that he was a prodigy
00:02:23.660 and that in many ways music came naturally and easy for him doesn't mean we shouldn't look to
00:02:29.520 someone like that and say Mozart never worked hard a day in his life. What we would say is Mozart
00:02:35.680 worked just as hard, if not even harder, than other people in the field of music, but his work
00:02:42.120 paid off immensely more. You see? So Adam was called by God to work, and he was called by God
00:02:48.840 to work hard. The curse is not work. The curse is not hard work. The curse is that work and hard
00:02:56.620 work pay off less. There's a vexation to our work. There is a frustration to our work. That our work
00:03:04.940 is not as fruitful as it otherwise would have been if sin had never entered the world.
00:03:11.560 Thanks so much for listening. But real quick, before you go, do us a small favor, take a moment,
