00:00:41.660 it's already been deleted just as a few minutes ago this morning. It's Monday morning now. But on

00:00:46.560 Sunday, the Lord's Day, the day that Christians go to church, it was posted. I believe it also

00:00:51.560 yesterday was Eastern Orthodox Easter, so the Orthodox Easter. And Trump posts not a picture

00:00:58.580 of Jesus standing behind him benevolently or helping him or something like that, but a post

00:01:04.120 of Trump himself as a messianic figure, as though he is Christ. And this is posted by

00:01:11.980 probably one of his staffers, but regardless, it's from his Truth Social account. This was

00:01:18.520 posted on Sunday. I'm going to show you the image. There it is. Yes, it's blasphemy. This is

00:01:23.580 blasphemous. Trump looking like Jesus, healing some Jeffrey Epstein looking dude sitting there

00:01:28.960 on the bottom. And yes, for the record, we're not going to go deep into it, but the angels in the

00:01:34.280 clouds that are supposedly fallen soldiers who are kind of standing in affirmation in support of

00:01:40.880 him. One of them in the middle, if we can pull the image back up for a moment, you'll notice that one

00:01:45.640 of them in the middle. It's like they were trying to go for this cross between a fallen soldier

00:01:49.980 slash angel slash Statue of Liberty, but it turned out pretty bad. It actually turned out to be

00:01:57.360 a known demonic figure that has several implications. It's not the Statue of Liberty.

00:02:03.160 I think that's probably an accident. We can give the benefit of the doubt, but it's not a good

00:02:08.220 look. No matter how you slice it, the President of the United States does not need to be posting

00:02:13.120 images from his social media account where he is taking upon himself the image of Christ. Trump has

00:02:20.760 lost his mind. Okay, so all that being said, we're going to talk about the Antichrist because I'm

00:02:26.620 seeing a lot of posts going on, and this isn't the first time, but it's kicked back up. Certainly,

00:02:31.240 it's flared back up because of this post on his true social. But for a decade now, people have

00:02:37.880 asked the question again and again and again, is Trump the Antichrist? Is Trump the Antichrist?

00:02:44.520 And so I want to give you guys a little bit of doctrine in regards to the Antichrist,

00:02:48.620 because there's actually some stuff about the Antichrist that a lot of Christians do not know.

00:02:52.980 And so we're going to be here in the second half of our live stream today. We're going to be

00:02:57.680 talking about the Antichrist and that doctrine, how it's formulated from Daniel chapter 9,

00:03:02.600 Matthew 24, as well as the book of Revelation. Not Revelations, but Revelation. That's how you

00:03:10.480 know right now. A lot of people are going to be posting about the Antichrist. If you see a

00:03:14.640 podcaster and he says, let me talk to you about the book of Revelations, and he puts an S on the

00:03:19.600 end, makes it plural, feel free to turn off that podcast right there. He's never read the Bible

00:03:23.920 a single time in his life. He doesn't know what he's talking about. That's not even the name of

00:03:27.820 the book. It's the book of Revelation. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ. So we're going to be

00:03:32.920 breaking down what Revelation says about the Antichrist. Spoiler alert, the word Antichrist

00:03:38.660 is not in the book of Revelation, nor is it in Matthew, nor is it in Daniel. It only appears

00:03:44.060 in one place, and that's what I'm going to break down first. Right now, without any further ado,

00:03:49.140 Antichrist, as a term, only appears in 1 John. And I'm going to show you two different portions

00:03:55.460 of Scripture, 1 John 2 and 1 John 4, and see if it lines up with Donald J. Trump. So I'm going to

00:04:02.220 do that in just a moment. Second half of the episode, we'll look at Daniel 9, Matthew 24,

00:04:07.720 and Revelation, and we'll talk about the concept of an Antichrist and where that doctrine kind of

00:04:14.260 formulated predominantly from dispensational, premillennial evangelicals. So we're going to

00:04:20.960 be doing that in the second half of the live stream today. But let's start where the word

00:04:25.040 Antichrist actually shows up in the Bible, the only place that it shows up, in the book of 1 John,

00:04:31.600 okay? Chapter 2 and chapter 4. We'll start with chapter 2. This is 1 John chapter 2, verses...

00:04:38.080 We're going to be looking at verse 18, and then skipping forward to verse 22 and 23. So three

00:04:43.720 verses here. 1 John chapter 2, verse 18, verse 22 and 23. This is what the Bible says. Children,

00:04:50.960 It is the last hour. And as you have heard, that Antichrist is coming. So now many Antichrist

00:05:01.620 have come. Past tense. They've already come. Therefore, we know that the hour is late.

00:05:08.920 This is 2,000 years ago. This is the Apostle John writing Scripture underneath the inspiration of

00:05:15.240 the Holy Spirit, and he's saying, the hour is late, you know that the Antichrist is coming.

00:05:21.300 But many Antichrists, plural, have already come. And the fact that many, not just one,

00:05:27.840 but plural, many Antichrists have already appeared and already come, that's one of the things that

00:05:33.060 signifies that the hour, even 2,000 years ago, as John is writing, is already late. Now, skipping

00:05:39.640 forward. What is the Antichrist or Antichrist? Poor, what do they look like? This is verse 22

00:05:45.560 and 23 now. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist.

00:05:54.220 He who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father, and whoever

00:06:02.000 confesses the Son has the Father also. Now, I want to cross-reference. Keep that in mind. That's 1

00:06:08.760 John 2, verse 18, 22, and 23. Now skip over two chapters later. This is 1 John 4, and we're going

00:06:17.220 to be looking at the first three verses, 1, 2, and 3. 1 John 4, verses 1 through 3, the Bible says

00:06:23.300 this, Beloved, do not believe every spirit, right? You got to have discernment, but test the spirits

00:06:30.560 to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets, it's not exactly the term antichrist,

00:06:38.200 but we're going to get there. Many false prophets have gone out into the world. Many, not just one,

00:06:45.120 but many. Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, John Hagee, Paula White, right? But it's not just one,

00:06:53.120 to be fair, but they are evil, wicked, demonic, false prophets. They are wolves in sheep's clothing.

00:07:00.700 Paula White is not a pastor. She is a wolf. She hates the Lord Jesus Christ. She hates the truth

00:07:06.740 of Scripture, and she is leading millions of people to hell, including the president of these

00:07:13.280 United States. She is a false prophet, but she's not the only one. There are many. Just like many

00:07:19.840 antichrists, that's 1 John 2 that we just read. Now 1 John 4, many false prophets have gone out

00:07:27.400 into the world. By this, you will be able to discern and test and know the Spirit of God.

00:07:35.040 Here it is. Here's the test. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ, right? 1 John 2 said

00:07:41.560 that Jesus Christ is God's Son. If you receive the Son, then you have the Father. And if you truly

00:07:47.040 know the Father, you'll recognize and accept the Son. But now it gets, in 1 John 4, a little bit

00:07:53.020 more specific. By this you will know the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses not just that

00:07:59.360 Jesus Christ is God's Son, but that He has, past tense, He has already come in the flesh.

00:08:07.940 Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is a trustworthy spirit

00:08:14.700 from God. And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit

00:08:23.160 of the Antichrist. So not just false prophets, but again, here's the term, Antichrist. What is

00:08:30.040 the spirit of the Antichrist? Any spirit that denies that Jesus is the Son, rejects the Son,

00:08:37.460 and therefore rejects the Father, and more specifically, that denies that Jesus has not

00:08:42.920 coming, not a future Messiah that we're still waiting for, but that Jesus is the Messiah,

00:08:47.480 and that he has past tense already come in the flesh, the incarnation.

00:08:52.940 Any spirit that denies that, that denies the past tense incarnation of Jesus Christ

00:08:59.180 as the divine Son of God, any spirit that denies that is the spirit of the Antichrist,

00:09:06.200 which you heard was coming, future tense, and now is in the world already.

00:09:13.440 So even at the time of John, the apostle, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

00:09:18.820 writing infallible scripture 2,000 years ago, even at that time, he's saying the Antichrist,

00:09:24.740 that is a spirit, a collective ethos that embodies the Antichrist, the spirit of the Antichrist,

00:09:31.940 is not something that we're waiting for 2,000 years later at some future time,

00:09:36.160 but has already entered into the world and possessed many individual people,

00:09:41.140 so that many have been false prophets and many have been plural, not singular, plural, antichrist.

00:09:47.660 Many antichrists have already at John's time come out into the world,

00:09:53.280 all embodying the one collective spirit of the antichrist.

00:09:58.860 And what is the specific defining qualities, characteristics of that one spirit of the antichrist?

00:10:09.500 it denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but even more specifically, it denies that Jesus

00:10:15.680 Christ has past tense, not just we're still waiting for a Messiah, a future Messiah, but that

00:10:21.460 He has already come into the world and taken on flesh. That the Son of God has come into the

00:10:29.080 world, the incarnation, and taken on flesh. Any spirit that meets that criteria is the spirit of

00:10:39.880 the Antichrist, and that spirit, collective spirit of the Antichrist, can possess many, not just one,

00:10:46.600 but many individual people. And there were individual people who possessed that spirit of

00:10:52.300 the Antichrist at the time of John, and for these past 2,000 years, since then, there have been many

00:10:58.400 more, and there are many still to this day. Now, I'm going to make one final point. Here's the deal.

00:11:04.920 Do I think that Donald J. Trump is the Antichrist? No. Do I think that he is an Antichrist? Many

00:11:13.260 Antichrists have gone out into the world. Maybe. But even then, probably not. And here's why.

00:11:19.080 Because he's not bad? Because he's not blasphemous? No, no, no. He's blasphemous. He's a narcissist.

00:11:25.440 he's arrogant, and in his second administration, he is doing a terrible job. Okay, that said,

00:11:33.440 the Bible is specific. You don't get to generalize and just make it whatever you want it to be.

00:11:39.100 And the only book of the Bible, namely 1 John, that actually uses the term Antichrist and plural

00:11:45.400 Antichrist defines what the spirit of the Antichrist is. And if we're going to go with the

00:11:51.060 Bible's clear, specific definition of the Antichrist or the spirit of the Antichrist that

00:11:56.980 can possess many individual people, men and women alike, and did at the time of John and still does

00:12:02.460 today in our time as well. The specific criteria for an Antichrist spirit is someone who denies

00:12:10.420 that Jesus has come in the flesh. There are many people today who deny that Jesus has come in the

00:12:15.320 flesh, and that he is the Son of God, and who are deceiving and teaching others that Jesus has not

00:12:21.300 come in the flesh, that he is not the Son of God. In that sense, Paula White would not be one of the

00:12:26.800 Antichrists. She would be a false prophet and a false teacher, but she wouldn't technically be

00:12:31.660 one of the Antichrist because she is not denying that Jesus has come in the flesh. She's denying

00:12:36.760 a lot of other things. She's teaching a lot of terrible, heretical, garbage doctrine, but she

00:12:42.540 does not deny the incarnation and the deity of Jesus Christ. There are a lot of people who do.

00:12:49.600 They're called unbelievers. But as far as I know, if we're thinking of national collectives,

00:12:58.440 there are many unbelievers, and all unbelievers, to some extent or another, deny that Jesus

00:13:05.340 is God, deny that He's the Son of God, and deny the incarnation, that Jesus was born of the

00:13:12.300 Virgin Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit, pretty much every non-Christian would deny those things.

00:13:17.800 And therefore, every non-Christian, to some extent, does embody the spirit of the Antichrist.

00:13:25.660 But there's not a whole lot of countries, entire nations, that are literally founded

00:13:32.680 on an Antichrist spirit. Brazil is not founded on a rejection of Jesus Christ coming,

00:13:42.020 past tense, not awaiting a future Messiah, but past tense that Jesus is the Son of God and that

00:13:47.720 He has already come into the world in the flesh. That wouldn't characterize Brazil. That wouldn't

00:13:53.700 characterize America or England or Spain or France or Canada. It really only characterizes

00:14:01.660 one country. There's only one country that at a national level has embraced as a foundational

00:14:10.540 principle, the rejection of the fact that Jesus is the Son of God and that He has already come

00:14:19.120 into the world in the flesh. And that's Israel. So is Donald Trump the Antichrist? No.

00:14:28.820 Are there plural, many Antichrists that have already gone out into the world? Yes.

00:14:34.600 has Donald Trump, who is not the Antichrist, has he, in his narcissism because of being flattered

00:14:43.300 and just appointing and exalting everyone who tells him what he wants to hear, has Donald Trump,

00:14:49.000 who is not the Antichrist, surrounded himself by many Antichrists, by many Zionists, by many Jews,

00:14:59.120 by many individuals, by Laura Loomer, by Mark Levin, by Lindsey Graham? Has Donald Trump replaced

00:15:07.960 all of the Christians that have supported him historically and given precedence to Jared

00:15:17.340 Kushner and all these individuals? Has Donald Trump and Susie Wiles, because we actually have

00:15:23.900 guys who we know inside the Trump administration who can vouch for this. Susie Wiles has basically

00:15:31.360 banned for months now anyone from like a 200-foot radius from the Oval Office speaking to Donald

00:21:04.260 but it's a collective spirit. And it's specifically defined as a rejection that Christ is the Son of

00:21:11.820 God and that he has already, past tense, come in the flesh, the incarnation. And the next big idea

00:21:19.460 is that this spirit can embody many individuals, many antichrists, plural, have gone out into the

00:21:25.640 world. To a lower degree, the spirit of the antichrist does actually embody all unbelievers

00:21:32.240 because all unbelievers reject that Jesus is the Son of God and that he's come in the flesh.

00:21:36.740 but at a higher level the spirit of the antichrist certainly embodies those who have built their

00:21:43.680 entire existence or we could even say an entire nation's existence on that fundamental principle

00:21:51.680 that jesus is not the messiah he's not the son of god and the incarnation is a lie

00:21:57.020 that doesn't really describe any nation except for israel and people from israel or who are

00:22:05.160 beholden to Israel or are obsessed with Israel seem to be the only people who have any proximity

00:22:11.960 to Trump. So is Trump the Antichrist? No. Is he surrounded by many Antichrists? Yes. Let's go to

00:27:44.160 And Trump, this is someone who makes peace, and specifically, peace in the Middle East.

00:27:54.380 That's a key portion of, again, dispensational end times prophecy,

00:28:06.980 And then he breaks that covenant.

00:28:12.900 And you can kind of see if someone grew up thinking that.

00:28:24.920 Trump, we know, he restored the embassy to Jerusalem as a recognition of Israel's sovereignty.

00:28:29.760 So there's something there to say, hey, if we're really expecting at the end of time for someone to come in and to influence world politics and be seen as this incredible personality that somehow made all of these wars go away, there's actually something to be said there.

00:28:44.280 And they're going to have a focus on Israel.

00:28:45.740 I mean, that's Donald Trump.

00:28:47.500 But here's the deal with Antichrist.

00:28:49.160 Joel mentioned he expounded 1 John.

00:28:51.620 That is the only book in the Bible that explicitly mentions the word Antichrist,

00:28:56.660 where we have this concept of someone brokering peace, restoring sacrifices,

00:29:01.260 requiring the mark of the beast to buy and to sell.

00:29:03.900 We're actually combining about four to five different concepts from across the Old Testament,

00:29:08.280 from Jesus' prophecies in Matthew, from John's vision, the apocalypse in Revelation,

00:29:12.860 and the book of 1 John.

00:29:14.040 So you're taking five different concepts everywhere, you're combining them into one person

00:29:18.400 and saying, this figure, he'll do these things

00:29:20.440 that are all prophesied back in Daniel.

00:29:22.080 He's the abomination of desolation, Matthew 24.

00:29:24.880 He's the Antichrist in 1 John.

00:29:27.000 And he's the beast that exalts worship of himself

00:29:29.480 as worship of God, requires a mark, requires allegiance,

00:29:32.860 even to be able to buy a loaf of bread.

00:29:35.100 But when you get into each passage,

00:29:36.860 when you look at all of them, you say,

00:29:38.340 well, actually, no, here in Daniel, it's talking about this.

00:29:40.980 And here in Matthew, Jesus is talking about this.

00:29:42.780 And here in Revelation, we're talking about this.

00:29:45.140 And so we're not gonna do a two-hour lecture on this,

00:29:46.880 but I want to go to Daniel chapter 9. We talk a lot about Matthew 24, but Daniel chapter 9,

00:29:51.660 for one, first of all, is an incredible apologetic for the Bible. In the book of Daniel chapter 9,

00:29:56.660 Daniel's in prayer, and he's visited by an angel. And remember, the people of Israel are in exile

00:30:01.380 at the time. They're in Babylon. They're without the temple. They're without Jerusalem. And an

00:30:05.640 angel comes to him, and he says, 70 weeks have been apportioned for you and for your people.

00:30:10.280 And he actually predicts, he says, there are seven sevens, so that's going to be seven weeks. That's

00:30:14.980 going to be 49 years. Each of these weeks is considered as years. 49 years, and then 62 sevens,

00:30:21.540 62 times seven, 434 years. Those first 49 from the decree is rebuilding of the temple. 434 years

00:30:29.420 is the period of time after this. This maps to 483 years. Well, it actually turns out from the

00:30:34.760 decree of Xerxes to rebuild the temple to the public ministry of Jesus is 483 years. So you

00:30:40.980 have an incredible prophecy. I mean, the United States has only been around. We're just coming

00:30:44.560 up on 250 years. So this would be another 250 years prior to the declaration of the independence

00:30:50.020 that someone prophesied someone's going to come. The prince is going to come to his people. He's

00:30:55.560 going to make a covenant. He's going to die in the holy city. And that prediction coming true to just

00:31:01.160 about the year. So first of all, when you read Daniel 9, it's highly debated. There's lots that's

00:31:06.220 in there. But the first thing is it's a strong apologetic for biblical prophecy, strong apologetic

00:31:11.980 for the inerrancy and the inspiration of Scripture that all the way, hundreds of years prior to

00:31:17.660 Christ, Daniel was looking ahead to the prince that was coming, the one who's going to renew

00:31:23.280 the covenant in the climactic end of the old covenant that was made with the Jews. Now, if

00:31:28.620 you read Daniel chapter 9, you have the seven sevens, and you have the 62 weeks, and in this

00:31:33.120 final week, this is where all dispensational theology hinges on, you have these last seven

00:31:38.440 years. And in the middle of these years, you have this figure, you have this prince

00:31:42.360 that it says is cut off and has nothing. And then he makes a covenant with many

00:31:46.360 and he puts an end to sacrifice. Now what figure is cut off?

00:31:50.820 Puts an end to sacrifice and makes a covenant. Well, that figure

00:31:54.600 is, historically the church has taught, it's Christ. It's not the Antichrist.

00:31:58.860 Daniel chapter 9 does not mention the Antichrist.

00:32:02.220 What Daniel chapter 9 does mention is the king. And then it mentions a second

00:32:06.360 element, which is the abomination of desolation. And the abomination of desolation is referenced

00:32:10.880 by Jesus himself in Matthew chapter 24, as well as Luke chapter 21. So in Matthew 24, Jesus is

00:32:17.640 saying the temple is going to be destroyed and not one stone is going to be left upon another.

00:32:22.000 And when you see the abomination of desolation, Luke 21 records it as when you see the armies

00:32:28.020 drawing close, flee to the hills. And Jesus himself explicitly says, when you see the

00:32:32.740 abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel. Now, if you've been listening to our show

00:32:37.220 for any length of time, you know that we view Matthew 24 as largely having been fulfilled.

00:32:41.960 Jesus made an incredible prophecy. He said this temple, Jerusalem, is going to be sacked. It's

00:32:47.940 incredible as the fires burned and the temple was destroyed, the gold ran down all of the stones.

00:32:53.240 So the Romans, to extract all of the stones or all of the gold, took every stone off. And so not a

00:32:59.800 single stone was left on top of one another. And the Christians that were in Jerusalem,

00:33:04.080 they actually, because of Jesus' words, had the foresight and the warning to escape. So it's this

00:33:08.860 incredible prophecy, and Jesus directly connects this event, the sacking of Jerusalem in 70 AD,

00:33:13.980 with Daniel chapter 9, the abomination of desolation, the Roman emperor Titus who came

00:33:20.440 to the temple, who sacked it and destroyed it, who took the place where God used to dwell,

00:33:25.900 where his presence used to reside, the holy of holies, and tore it all down. And so what Daniel

00:33:31.120 chapter 9 and Matthew 24, as these two passages are talking about, is Christ coming, sacrificing

00:33:37.220 himself, the sacking of the temple. That's not what 1 John is speaking of. Nowhere does 1 John

00:33:42.660 speak of confirming a covenant, brokering world peace. Nowhere does 1 John talk about the resume

00:33:48.980 of sacrifices. 1 John is about denying that Jesus has come in the flesh. Now the last piece people

00:33:54.260 connect this with is Revelation, Revelation 13, 16, and 20, where you have actually two figures.

00:33:59.640 It's the beast and the false prophet, and these characters emerge after you have the one who

00:34:04.080 rules the nations with a rod of iron, that being Christ. You have the anti-type to him. Now, how

00:34:09.400 we interpret Revelation is also saying a partial preterist hermeneutic, as in most of this is

00:34:15.540 describing the end of the old covenant in the first century, that Jesus is describing, a Hebrew

00:34:21.240 speaks of this, that which is growing old and getting ready to pass away. So the old covenant

00:34:25.880 is closing, and you see, true to the dispensationalist instinct of this anti-Christ, this negative

00:34:31.720 archetype character, you do see a beast and a false prophet come, and they require worship of

00:34:37.160 themselves. Now, what that likely refers to, the way we read that as inferring to, is the Roman

00:34:42.520 state. In the first century, they persecuted Christians tirelessly, and there was a point

00:34:47.680 where you even had to buy and to sell, pledge allegiance to the Roman emperor,

00:34:52.240 to say, he's supreme, emperor worship, he is lord.

00:34:55.900 And so if you were a Christian during that time, so many Christians were put to death

00:34:59.300 because they refused to acknowledge the Roman emperor as a deity.

00:35:03.020 They refused to engage in worship of him.

00:35:06.560 And so what you have, instead of these five passages describing a figure that's coming at the end of time,

00:35:12.280 what you have is different passages that in some ways point to Christ,

00:35:14.780 in some ways point to the desolation of the temple,

00:35:16.500 in some ways point to the Roman state that persecuted Christians in the first century.

00:35:20.760 What you don't have is the expectation of someone who's coming, who brokers peace in

00:35:25.280 the Middle East.

00:35:26.080 No, we're in the gospel age now.

00:35:28.180 We're in the rule and reign of Christ.

00:35:30.580 It says in Revelation that Christ rules and reigns for a thousand years.

00:35:34.200 It also says in 1 Corinthians 15, he must rule until he has made every enemy a footstool

00:35:38.580 for his feet.

00:35:39.780 That is the gospel age.

00:35:41.900 That's what we're in now.

00:35:43.200 And so Trump may have resemblances to someone who makes peace and someone who sets this up

00:35:47.820 and maybe even allows some of the foundations of the third temple to be built.

00:35:51.960 But from biblical prophecy, we're not expecting any of that.

00:35:57.900 What we look forward now to is the final return, not of a dark prince, not of an antichrist,

00:36:03.540 but the Christ, physically returning the resurrection of the dead as he places all of his enemies under his feet.

00:38:47.760 some some good uh commentators and theologians that say that the man of lawlessness in reference

00:38:53.840 in second Thessalonians is actually the high priest at the time of Jesus, his trial and

00:39:01.280 crucifixion. And that it's basically, it's an indictment, like a strict, severe indictment

00:39:08.680 and play on words that the man who is supposed to embody the high priest in Israel, the law of God,

00:39:15.740 that Israel and the priestly system by that point was so far derailed from what God intended

00:39:24.180 and so rebellious to the actual law of God and had added so many commandments of men,

00:39:31.640 traditions of men, and overrided the law of God that the very man, the high priest of the priestly

00:39:37.920 sacrificial system in Israel who should have embodied the law of God had become so degraded

00:39:45.100 that he was referenced the man of lawlessness.

00:39:47.300 So I think the man of lawlessness is the high priest in Israel.

00:39:51.860 It's a Jewish high priest who was lawless at that time,

00:39:55.560 and modern Jews today are even more so.

00:39:59.100 So there are many men and women of lawlessness all over the world,

00:40:02.380 not just Jews, but especially Israel and its rejection of Christ.

00:40:06.860 And then, again, the beast, I think, is a reference of Nero.

00:41:08.580 And he stood out, and he spoke out, and he said, I'm for you.

00:41:18.320 He was beholden to one group, and it was those voters that loved him and loved what he was saying.

00:41:58.600 And so when it comes to throwing our hat into the ring, who is it going to be next?

00:42:44.020 He is, at the end of the day, in terms of his ideology, he has a few convictions on economic policies with tariffs and things like that, because he's a business guy.

00:42:52.540 But in terms of moral convictions, I mean, he's a 1990s liberal Democrat from New York.

00:43:00.560 He looked good for a while because you had guys with conviction, but they never got anything

00:43:07.420 Then you get a guy with courage, but it turns out he doesn't have much conviction.

00:43:27.500 So in one sense, we should live our lives as though He's going to return any moment.

00:43:34.200 And in the same breath, we should also live our lives as though He may tarry.

00:43:49.980 I mean, there have been entire generations of Christians that have sold their homes and their 401ks and all these things

00:43:55.900 because they thought Jesus was coming back, and they left their children destitute. And so we want

00:44:01.080 to live with zeal, knowing that Christ could return at any moment, and yet at the same time we want to

00:44:06.480 live with wisdom, knowing that he also could tarry, and it could be multiple more generations before

00:44:13.060 he comes. So we know that Jesus is the only true figure who has perfect conviction and perfect

00:44:20.180 courage, but what we're talking about is we're talking about a man who is not the Antichrist,

00:44:25.580 And, of course, he's also not Christ himself.

00:44:27.880 He's a man who will be fallible.

00:44:29.700 He will be flawed.

00:44:30.600 He'll be a sinner.

00:44:32.020 But there is such a thing.

00:44:33.540 I refuse to believe that Jesus is the only good man.

00:45:03.100 know i the reason i'm mentioning this right here at the very end is because i see people every week

00:45:07.340 you know and i see them now in the chat it's like the person that you're describing who has both

00:45:10.760 conviction and courage that's jesus he's the only one like that's just not true guys it's not true

00:45:16.340 King Alfred was a great man. He was a sinner saved by grace, right? He's not the perfect man,

00:45:22.960 but he had conviction and courage. People, human beings, flawed, albeit, but saved by grace and

00:45:31.080 who love the Lord Jesus can make a difference, especially when they're appointed to civil

00:45:36.140 authority over a nation. And so, yes, our ultimate hope is in Christ alone, of course.

00:45:43.980 and we're going to live every day as though he may return at any moment. And at the same time,

00:45:50.320 wisdom demands that we also, we live with zeal as though Christ may return this afternoon. But we

00:45:57.160 also live with wisdom for the sake of our children and our children's children, knowing that Christ

00:46:02.020 may not return for many generations. And so we hope and pray and work towards there being a

00:46:08.800 flawed human man, but better than Trump. There are people in the world besides Jesus who are

00:46:17.080 better than Trump. You can't have, you can't have it both ways. So you can't say, well,

00:46:20.660 the person you're talking about, the only person who fits the bill is Jesus. And then also in the

00:46:25.060 same breath say, and Trump is the worst person. If Trump is the worst person, then that means if

00:46:29.320 this is Jesus and Trump is the worst person, then every single person in the world is worse than

00:46:34.920 Jesus, but still better than Trump. So I would like for one of them, right? So this is not

00:46:39.360 ridiculous. We're saying Jesus is our only true hope, our ultimate hope. He may come back tomorrow,

00:46:46.440 so let's live with zeal, but he may also wait for a hundred years, and I'm going to have kids who

00:46:52.100 have to live for decades in America until Jesus returns, and I would like for their lives not to

00:46:59.840 be miserable. So let's live with zeal because Christ may return tomorrow, but also wisdom

00:47:04.660 because he may return in a hundred years. And wisdom, I think, dictates that we work towards

00:47:12.200 an imperfect man, but still an improvement from what we've had so far. There have been people

00:47:18.080 over the course of the church age, the gospel age of the last 2,000 years, who were flawed men,

00:47:24.760 sinners. They were not the antichrist, and they also weren't Jesus Christ, but they were good

00:47:29.280 men. They had both courage and conviction. We've had George Washington. We had King Alfred. We

00:47:34.940 have had men like this, and I believe that it's possible if we don't just throw in the towel and

00:47:41.160 give up. Part of the reason we're in the problem we are today is because evangelicals surrendered

00:47:46.480 authority, surrendered responsibility and power, and gave it over to Jews, gave it over to atheists,

00:47:54.080 gave it over to fill in the blank. I think that we should not abdicate our duty, but we should

00:48:00.200 work with humility, with courage and conviction that we might actually have one day a decent

00:48:07.380 president. It is possible. It may not happen. It's not guaranteed, but it is possible. And because

00:48:13.020 it's possible and because I'm a father of five children, I'm going to work towards it. All the

00:48:17.460 great men too are not locked in the past and history. Like we've used to have great men,

00:48:20.960 but we no longer have them anymore. The president of El Salvador, in just seven years, since 2019

00:48:25.780 when he was first elected, has radically transformed them from one of the most dangerous countries on

00:48:30.300 earth to beautiful, pristine, safe. He has something like a 95% approval rating. And you have to

00:48:36.980 realize this, it is going to be a single man at some level that stirs up the hearts of the people

00:48:42.020 to revolution, that stirs them up to desire greater things. And those great men are not just locked

00:48:47.220 away in the past and we used to have them, they're here now. And the great man that might come to the

00:48:51.460 United States and ascend to presidency or serve in office, he may be alive right now. He's learning,

00:48:57.500 training, being prepared. He exists. God has always sent men to rescue the people as they languish in

00:49:04.060 their sin, languish often too in the consequences that they earned for themselves. But if the people

00:49:09.380 humble themselves, call upon the Lord and say, we're wrong. We repent. God has been merciful over

00:49:15.120 and over and over again, not just in the Bible, in the church age. I mean, Islam had conquered 90%

00:49:21.580 of Spain. It took hundreds of years, but all of Spain was reconquered for Christendom. It can be

00:49:27.680 done. The odds are worse, have been worse in the past. The great men have come when things have

00:49:32.680 been all the more dire, and we have the hope, the optimism to say, and we think it could happen here.
