The Saad Truth with Dr. Saad - My Chat with George Simion, Leading Candidate for President of Romania (The Saad Truth with Dr. Saad_815)

00:00:00.000 Hi everybody, this is Gad Saad for The Sad Truth, a rare weekend edition because I think it is a

00:00:05.960 time-sensitive issue. Today I've got a leading contender for the presidency of Romania, George

00:00:11.820 Simeon. How are you, sir? Hello, as good as it gets considering we are facing an ongoing coup

00:00:19.640 d'etat here in Romania. Thanks for the invitation. The sad truth or the sad truth?

00:00:27.360 That is the sad truth indeed. I was, by the way, just for full disclosure, I was contacted a few

00:00:36.120 weeks ago by, I don't know if you'd call him your mentor, by the people of Colin Georgescu to come

00:00:42.940 on the show. Of course, the invitation is still open to him, but maybe talk us through what happened

00:00:48.300 to him and then how you found your place in this position, which you didn't necessarily choose to

00:00:53.980 be in this position. Yes, Colin Georgescu is our leader, the leader of the movement Romania First.

00:01:02.660 He was the most voted Romanian at the presidential elections we had at the end of last year,

00:01:11.080 but our establishment doesn't like him too much and they annulled the presidential elections.

00:01:19.360 Yes. Actually, in the first round, I also was a competitor. I finished fourth with 14% of the votes,

00:01:29.780 1,300,000 votes. And immediately after the first round finished, I told my voters to support

00:01:43.920 Colin Georgescu because he was the only sovereign left for the second round. We were supposed to have the

00:01:52.300 second round between Colin Georgescu and a lady from the globalist hemisphere of this country. And Mr. Georgescu

00:02:05.940 was supposed to win under our predictions with 70% of the votes. So the vote started for the Romanians 0.84

00:02:17.120 abroad on the 6th of December. The Romanians inside the country were supposed to vote on the 8th of

00:02:23.860 December. And on the 6th of December, when 50,000 people already voted, and the score was,

00:02:33.640 like I told you, 70% for Colleen and 40% for this lady, Elena Lasconi, the constitutional court 1.00

00:02:41.420 suddenly convened and they annulled the elections. This is the short version.

00:02:50.060 What is the...

00:02:51.360 Sorry, go ahead. Finish your point.

00:02:53.220 Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Please ask and then I will...

00:02:56.640 Okay. So what is the evidence... So, you know, when you're sitting on the outside,

00:03:01.580 as we are saying, I'm in Canada right now, we hear these stories, but it's very hard for us to gauge

00:03:09.660 whether there is any veracity to the fire, whether it's completely made up. So what is the burden of

00:03:16.700 proof that is presented to, quote, legally nullify the process?

00:03:25.700 Very good question. None.

00:03:28.620 No shred of evidence.

00:03:30.020 Literally zero.

00:03:31.320 Zero. They made like an essay, the Secret Service is in Romania. They made an essay about,

00:03:39.060 without naming any competitor, about a state elector that was involved. They didn't name Russia. They

00:03:47.400 didn't name Kalin Georgescu. They didn't bring any proof about money. Like J.D. Vance said in his

00:03:56.620 Munich speech at the Munich Security Conference, about hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in

00:04:06.200 Russia for publicity ads. No publicity ads. The only publicity ads and money were not by

00:04:13.080 Russian involvement, but by one of the political parties here in government, the National Liberal Party,

00:04:20.680 who invested lots of money just to smear me and to raise Kalin's chances. But they didn't know

00:04:29.860 they will raise Kalin that high. Actually, the situation and the reality is that we have

00:04:38.020 Romanians that are disappointed in the current political establishment.

00:04:44.580 And they chose to vote an anti-establishment guy. It could have been anyone, but Kalin Georgescu is

00:04:54.340 a fighter and is opposing this system for many, many years. So he won fair and square and he is entitled to be the

00:05:08.260 Romanians, elected by Romanians. He is entitled to be president. He is not president because he is anti-establishment,

00:05:17.620 he is anti-globalist, anti-woke, anti-war. So they decided to announce these elections and the only

00:05:30.420 person then others followed, but the only person that said it was a Russian collusion, Russian intervention,

00:05:39.220 was Anthony Blinken. And you can imagine, on his last days of office, he said it. Then our new master wannabe,

00:05:52.020 Mr. Emmanuel Macron, repeated this idea, but nobody presented any evidence. They said something about

00:06:02.900 bots, fake identities on TikTok. But the people were real. Two million, one hundred thousand votes for

00:06:12.660 Kalin Georgescu. And we made big rallies, big demonstrations to protest against the annulled

00:06:19.700 elections and hundreds of thousands of people went into the streets. So there are real people

00:06:28.260 that want a change in Romania. And the change is not a colored revolution like the Soros network like to do.

00:06:38.980 Is there a mechanism through, you know, I'm sure that there are all kinds of shenanigans that happen

00:06:46.100 within the court system, but is there a process by which this can be appealed so that it can be reversed,

00:06:53.220 or it struck down, it's the king has spoken, it's unilateral and we move on?

00:06:59.940 This is without any precedent. The constitutional court actually is not formed of judges. It is

00:07:09.380 formed of nine members politically appointed by the former president and the current government.

00:07:16.820 Some of them are politicians, not people with judicial background. So nobody could appeal, nobody could do

00:07:28.340 anything through the internal judicial system because the constitutional court is outside the judicial

00:07:37.220 system. And then what happened is they continued the coup d'etat. They said we must have repeated elections.

00:07:49.620 We raised the signatures for Mr. Georgescu. You need 200,000 signatures in Romania to be a candidate

00:07:58.660 for the presidential race. We raised them again. And at the end of March they banned him again. It's like Iran,

00:08:10.260 where you have the Mujahideen, you know, the Ayatollahs who say who can compete for public office

00:08:17.780 and who cannot compete. And because the Venice Commission, who is in charge of democracy and in

00:08:28.980 organizing elections and observing elections, said it's not possible in these elections not to have

00:08:37.220 the possibility to appeal. They rejected Mr. Georgescu since the electoral bureau, that electoral bureau that

00:08:46.660 is composed of representatives from the political parties and five judges and doesn't have the ability to reject

00:08:54.580 anyone, per se, if that person has all the paperwork, all the signatures in order. So Mr. Georgescu had

00:09:05.060 the paper works and the signatures in order. No judge, no jury convicted him and said he cannot be a candidate in elections and he cannot be a member of the parliament, a president and so on. But the electoral bureau with 10 votes against,

00:09:32.100 10 persons against, 10 persons against four said, no, you are banned, you cannot participate in elections.

00:09:41.780 This is our decisions. We voted through our conscience.

00:09:45.700 So if, so sorry, so if, if, if there was no precedent to this process, but now there is a precedent, you now run and you'll tell us in a second how you are in the position that you're in now.

00:09:57.700 What stops them if you win in this new process of exactly pressing the repeat button. And again, you were under Russian interference or Moldovian or whatever other country, what stops it from being an infinite loop?

00:10:12.340 Nothing. Very good question, Professor Saad. This is why I'm doing this interview with you to spread the word, the word to get some, some international attention towards the crisis in Romania, because this is only arbitrary.

00:10:36.340 And they simply don't agree with the democratic transition of power.

00:10:41.380 But actually we are in a tough position. We are a country inside the European Union.

00:10:47.320 So they will not dare to annul elections again.

00:10:50.820 And if important rulers, important leaders in the free world take a stance.

00:10:58.640 And I'm very glad that until now we have some important persons like J.D. Vance and the conservative leaders across the Europe who spoke out in defense of democracy and in defense of liberty or freedom here in Romania.

00:11:21.460 I'm presuming that Interim Prime Minister Carney has not sent in his support for you yet, right?

00:11:29.800 You are presuming right.

00:11:31.900 We know the Canadian society, many Romanians living in Canada participated in the freedom rallies during COVID, especially truck drivers who participated in the protest.

00:11:53.900 So we also see from day to day to day life, many Romanians that worked in Canada returning home and saying the wokeism is too bad. 0.77

00:12:09.500 It's impossible to live nowadays in Canada.

00:12:13.160 And even if we are a country that is poorer and is doing worse from the economic point of view, they come back to Romania because we are still a free country.

00:12:27.300 Now there's a contradiction in terms because we are a free country which cannot have free elections from what it seems like.

00:12:38.020 We were in the first lines of protesting against the COVID restrictions and mandatory vaccination.

00:12:46.480 And we had a rate of 40% of the population that was vaccinated with mRNA anti-COVID-19 vaccine.

00:12:57.220 Are you in Romania having as difficult a time navigating through the very difficult conundrum of knowing what is a man or woman?

00:13:07.720 Because in Canada, we're no longer able to determine what's male or female.

00:13:11.060 Are you as woke and progressive as we are?

00:13:14.700 Or are you sort of more towards the Hungary line on the continuum of wokeness?

00:13:20.920 Oh, actually, we learned very well in school.

00:13:28.280 And we learned biology, of course.

00:13:32.080 And in biology, you know, there is no binary, non-binary gender and 70 other genders that we have only male and female.

00:13:45.060 So this transhumanism and this transgender and wokeism didn't succeed still in Romania. 0.60

00:13:53.240 And I am very grateful that the Trump and the MAGA movement won the elections in the United States.

00:14:02.460 Now all the Soros agents must go back home for taking new orders or for fighting there, not for the brains of our children.

00:14:15.680 It's really upsetting for me.

00:14:20.900 I'm born in 1986.

00:14:24.740 So I always aspired to be part of the free world.

00:14:32.860 We are the post-communist kids.

00:14:35.340 We're looking towards Canada, United States, Western Europe, for democracy, for freedom.

00:14:45.300 And we are disappointed that now a new form of Marxism took over, first through your universities, through your culture, organizations, then through the judicial system.

00:14:57.400 And now they invested the political spectrum, what was once in Europe, right wing, for example, Christian Democrats and conservative parties lean very much to the left.

00:15:14.080 And the political spectrum has changed.

00:15:19.980 You cannot say a party is left or right, but there's a new separation here in Europe between globalists and patriots.

00:15:28.600 And this is why I co-founded the mega movement to put the MAGA wave and to spread it across Europe and to spread the freedom.

00:15:41.400 And this is essential to us because if we will not fight it, we are living like in the novel of George Orwell, 1984.

00:15:55.360 Of course.

00:15:56.120 Do you think that to the extent that countries like Hungary and Poland and Romania have gone through another earlier wave of parasitic ideas called, you know, Marxism and communism, that somehow that builds somewhat of an inoculation against the current parasitic ideas of wokeism? 0.98

00:16:19.000 Because, you know, it takes a country that has everything to be able to afford the luxury of the stupidity that we see coming out of our universities, right? 0.93

00:16:31.280 Whereas if you've gone through the harshness, the ecosystem of Romanian dictatorships, then maybe you're not as open to believing all of this nonsense. 0.96

00:16:40.640 Do you think there is a bit of that inoculation that exists in Romania because of your very difficult recent history?

00:16:46.900 We lived under the marxist teachings. 0.98

00:16:54.220 We lived in an authoritarian regime that was imposed through the Soviet occupation.

00:17:04.020 So we are well aware of censorship, of dictators, and we know that the state doesn't want what's best for you.

00:17:16.300 And we know that they are lying through their TV channels.

00:17:20.800 It's a good expression, the one that you used, the parasitic, I tried to order, it's not so easy, your Romanian, the Romanian translation of your book, Parasitic Mind.

00:17:38.900 So, yes, we live under harsh times and we don't have the problems that Western countries that don't have any real problems anymore.

00:17:57.040 So, inventing new types of gender or allowing the mutilation of children with gender change.

00:18:09.800 This is incredible for us.

00:18:12.060 We are socially conservative.

00:18:13.500 We still believe in God.

00:18:15.100 We go to church.

00:18:16.140 And because of this, some people in the West consider us savages, uncivilized, because we keep our ideas, because we keep our traditions.

00:18:33.300 And because tomorrow, when it's Sunday here, tomorrow morning, I'm going to church.

00:18:39.500 I agreed, and we all, the Romanian population is very pro-European and pro-Transatlantic.

00:18:47.480 We agreed to be part of the free world, but we didn't sign up to be changed under cultural aspects.

00:18:59.960 We believe that diversity creates the beauty of the world.

00:19:04.800 Right.

00:19:05.800 Right.

00:19:06.120 Okay.

00:19:06.480 So, maybe Justin Trudeau was right when he kept uttering the word, diversity is our strength.

00:19:12.500 Should we be letting in more Islamic immigrants to enrich us in Canada? 1.00

00:19:19.200 I believe in diversity, that God intended that we are different.

00:19:26.500 But also, I believe in not mixing and ruining all that God created, because it's not normal that some of our political leaders, like Justin Trudeau, want us to be all the same.

00:19:48.120 It's not possible.

00:19:49.040 God created us different.

00:19:51.460 So, if Justin Trudeau accepts diversity, he must accept that in countries like Romania, Hungary, Poland, we pray to God, we are Christians, and we do not accept to have other civilizations, because this will only create problems like it creates in Western Europe.

00:20:16.880 So, we are peace-loving nations here in Eastern Europe, but we don't want to accept the movement, intentional movement of other populations, because we are different in this planet, and we all must live together.

00:20:43.260 We must be tolerant, but you cannot bring intolerant people to your home, which impose another belief and another cultural type.

00:20:56.440 In Eastern Europe, in Eastern Europe, we don't have on the streets, terrorists, bombs, and I think the reason for this is that some of the Islamic people who do not read their scriptures, 1.00

00:21:15.640 and they don't learn that God, or Allah, or how do you want to say, doesn't want us to kill each other.

00:21:29.000 Jesus Christ talked about love, and we should all speak the same language.

00:21:36.320 Amen. So, tell us a bit about your, you know, you've kind of stepped in now, and I think the polls are showing that you're leading, if I'm not mistaken.

00:21:46.600 How did you get into it? What's the trajectory?

00:21:49.580 And maybe just give us, you know, the few key items of your platform, you know, you're against open borders, you're, whatever it is, the key points, so that people who are not very familiar with Romanian politics get a sense of what is that your party stands for.

00:22:07.140 Okay, so, after Colleen Georgescu was banned, me and another political party leader, Ana Maria Gavrila, a fine lady, talked with Colleen Georgescu, and we agreed to raise signatures, and us two to be candidates in the new race.

00:22:35.460 It was like a miracle. It was like a miracle. We raised the signatures in 48 hours. People were standing in queues in the rain, only to sign for us.

00:22:47.280 We were both accepted by the Electoral Bureau and the Constitutional Court, and Ana Maria Gavrila withdrew from the race in order to support me.

00:22:58.460 So, now I'm the only sovereignist candidate, and all the movement is behind me, and behind Mr. Colleen Georgescu, because we want him as a leader, as a leader for our nation after these elections.

00:23:16.260 So, of course, I am leading. We are hoping to have record attendance at the ballots, and we are hoping that this time the elections will be fair and free, and we are hoping that they will let the Romanian people decide.

00:23:38.140 And the final casting of the ballots happens when?

00:23:45.000 The 4th of May will be the date of the first round of elections. If needed, there will be a second round on the 18th of May.

00:23:56.120 So, by mid-May, the whole thing will be known?

00:23:58.920 Yes, and I am inviting you, Professor, to the inauguration.

00:24:04.180 Oh, my God willing.

00:24:06.240 God willing. That would be very exciting.

00:24:09.660 Okay, and so what are some of the key positions that your party holds?

00:24:15.660 I mean, I think I already know the answer, but for some of our viewers who may not know, that is different from some of your competitors.

00:24:22.520 There is an extraordinary campaign and fight these elections. We are not living normal times.

00:24:34.240 So, our main focus is bringing back common sense, bringing back democracy.

00:24:40.340 The key words for us is peace, democracy, and freedom.

00:24:46.900 Ideologically speaking, we are a political party that has four pillars at its basis.

00:24:58.300 Nation, family, family as in natural family between a man and a woman, Christian faith, and freedom.

00:25:08.900 We, as governmental plans, plan to reduce red tape, plan to reduce bureaucracy, to reduce taxes, and to put the Romanians as the primary beneficiaries of Romanian wealth. 0.66

00:25:30.060 We are a very rich country from the point of view of natural resources.

00:25:35.780 We have oil, we have natural gas, both onshore and offshore in the Black Sea, salt, copper, and I think all the elements in the Mendeleev table.

00:25:48.980 But, unfortunately, this rare earth and many other things are not exploited or we are not benefiting from this.

00:26:03.420 Hopefully, hopefully, we will escape the state of a real colony and we will be sovereign, independent, and we will be equal members in our alliances in the European Union and in NATO.

00:26:21.060 Do you feel that there is an awakening that's happening in Europe that is akin to Orban in Hungary, your party in Romania?

00:26:31.540 You know, Marine Le Pen has gone through the same difficulty as Mr. Georgescu went through.

00:26:37.660 I mean, using a slightly different process, but the end result is that our globalist overlord decide that you are good enough or not to be sitting on the throne.

00:26:47.720 Are you sensing, given that you are right there in the field in Europe, that the populace is waking up, or are they still walking to the abyss of lunacy quietly and calmly?

00:26:59.460 100% the European states are waking up, the European people are waking up, of course, this is the MAGA wave, of course, it has a relation with the victory of Donald Trump.

00:27:20.580 We think this will happen also in Canada soon, and the Conservatives will be back in power.

00:27:28.540 We need this.

00:27:31.140 And yes, we are in contact.

00:27:33.920 I'm also Vice President of the European Party, European Conservatives and Reformists.

00:27:39.280 It's the party of Giorgia Meloni.

00:27:41.580 We have as President right now Mateusz Morawiecki, who is the former Prime Minister of Poland, who did real miracles leading the Polish people.

00:27:55.000 So, we will have elections together with the Romanian elections, also in Poland, and hopefully we will have two allies of the Trump administration in Romania and in Poland, sitting as presidents of Romania and Poland of the two states.

00:28:15.380 From your lips to God's ear, do you have any, I know that politically speaking, you would, I think you would support a win of the Conservatives here under Pierre Poilievre, but do you, I mean, if you probably followed the pattern of how things are going, he had something like a, I don't know, 40 point lead at one point that seemed pretty insurmountable.

00:28:35.440 And now the betting markets are betting in favour of Carnie.

00:28:40.020 Do you have any, I know you're not a Canadian expert in politics, but do you have a sense that the Canadian people have sufficiently wakened up to not give the Liberals a fourth mandate in a row?

00:28:55.080 Hopefully we have many Canadian friends.

00:28:57.680 I have been to Montréal and I will campaign for you, even if I will be busy.

00:29:04.420 Hopefully, hopefully, as the new Romanian president, Mr. Trump didn't help our cause too much with the proposal of Canada being the 51 state of the United States.

00:29:22.840 But there are many people I know in Canada that are loving freedom and they are loving peace.

00:29:33.300 So hopefully you can do the change there.

00:29:37.440 We are in contact with some senators from the Conservative Party in Canada.

00:29:43.400 Wonderful.

00:29:44.060 Last question.

00:29:45.480 And then I know you're probably very busy.

00:29:49.300 Not as serious a question, or maybe it is a serious question because there's nothing more serious than football.

00:29:54.740 I was a huge fan of Haji because he was a non-European, he almost had a Brazilian-Argentinian flair of how skillful he is. 0.90

00:30:07.760 So yes, Haji belongs in the legendary group.

00:30:11.640 Is there any other Romanian players that we can dare put in such an illustrious group?

00:30:17.120 Or are there any coming up that I should be keeping an eye out for?

00:30:21.180 I used to be a competitive soccer player, so soccer is my passion.

00:30:25.300 Take it away, hopefully, future president of Romania.

00:30:28.620 We have a new golden generation.

00:30:31.780 Our party is called AUR, which means our gold.

00:30:41.600 So hopefully we will have the prospects of having the same success as the Haji generation. 1.00

00:30:49.320 But Haji is our king.

00:30:51.780 We used to be a monarchy, but we are joking that Haji is the king.

00:30:56.520 So the generation of Haji, of Stoichkov, of Maradona is still the most important for us and for people across the globe.

00:31:12.580 I am very thankful that you know about our Romanian football star.

00:31:19.980 We gave the world many sportsmen, Haji, Nadia Comaneci, Nastase, but also many inventors, many writers, philosophers.

00:31:35.140 So hopefully we will keep in touch and we will bring our contribution to make the world a more beautiful place.

00:31:43.980 not the hell that is brought by the woke culture.

00:31:51.060 Thank you so much, Mr. Simeon.

00:31:52.600 Best of luck.

00:31:53.840 We will definitely keep in touch.

00:31:55.340 And I will hold you accountable for that invitation to the inauguration.

00:31:59.560 So I'm already getting a suit ready to celebrate with you.

00:32:03.460 Stay on the line so we can say goodbye offline.

00:32:05.600 Thank you so much for coming.

00:32:06.460 God willing. Thank you.

00:32:07.680 Best of luck. Thank you.
