00:03:30.000 Hello, everybody, and welcome to a very special Shadow at Night for Sunday, January the 26th,
00:03:58.700 2025 and the reason for the show tonight is because
00:04:03.440 uh... universal ostrich farm near edgewood british columbia the federal
00:04:08.520 government
00:04:09.560 canadian food
00:04:12.140 food inspection administration
00:04:14.520 or agency whatever the cfia stands for
00:04:17.980 plans to move in
00:04:19.960 on february first
00:04:21.360 to this ostrich farm and
00:04:23.820 kill i'm not going to use the word call because call makes it sound as though
00:04:28.060 There's some kind of a reason for this, and in my discussion yesterday with Katie from Universal Ostrich Farm, there is none, and we're going to find out more about that. 0.90
00:04:37.500 So the federal government's going to move in with their thugs this coming Saturday and try to kill 400 ostriches.
00:04:47.880 Some of these ostriches have been on this farm for 35 years or longer. 0.98
00:04:54.360 They are that old.
00:04:55.660 As a matter of fact, Katie grew up with some of these.
00:04:59.500 So you could say they're like family to her.
00:05:02.740 On the show tonight, Katie Positney, who is the daughter of the woman who owns Universal Ostrich Farm. 0.55
00:05:09.480 She's going to join us in just a second.
00:05:11.120 And Carrie Simpson, who has become an incredible advocate for people who have been having problems with government agencies in British Columbia,
00:05:20.440 specifically for the past, I don't know, 15 or 20 years.
00:05:23.600 i didn't know carrie was involved in this until a couple of hours ago which really really increases
00:05:29.380 my optimism that we can get around this because carrie knows what she's doing we're going to bring
00:05:34.120 her on in just a couple of minutes but first i thought i would introduce you guys to the world

00:07:01.760 tonight because this deadline is fast approaching it's next saturday february the 1st the government's
00:07:06.900 going to come in with their spacesuit wearing goons and try to kill 400 ostriches it's it's
00:07:13.180 astounding to me. So we're going to find out more about all of this over the next hour or so with
00:07:18.680 Katie and with Kerry. Let me show you a video I found that was made from Universal Ostrich Farms
00:07:26.880 about eight years ago. It's available on YouTube. Let me throw it up for you just so you guys can
00:07:30.960 get an idea of what it's like on the farm itself.
00:07:43.180 Thank you.
00:08:13.180 Thank you.
00:08:43.180 Hello, Katie.
00:09:09.940 Hello, Carrie.
00:09:10.560 How are you guys doing?
00:09:11.420 how are we doing that that could be a loaded question under these circumstances shadow so
00:09:16.840 we're in war we're in war mode at least my office is i want to ask katie uh that video we just
00:09:23.400 watched katie you grew up with those birds didn't you yeah i'm sorry that video made me really
00:09:34.880 emotional yeah they're they're family members um they're really special to us they my mom for as
00:09:46.240 long as i can remember for the last like i said 20 years has always said to us kids these um these
00:09:51.340 ostrich are going to do something amazing for humans one day and we've grown up with them for
00:09:57.260 35 years but um that's as far as i can remember yet she's just stuck that in her head and here we
00:10:03.180 are today some of the birds who are there today and probably in that video we just watched
00:10:09.900 have been there for well since you were a little kid right yeah we even raised a couple in our
00:10:17.340 house and um and then they went out to live with everybody else but it's been a pretty special
00:10:23.780 project for our family and they're really unique and they just have the most beautiful personalities
00:10:30.620 you could never maybe really understand that but when you get close to them you can almost look
00:10:34.980 into their soul with their big eyes can you tell the difference i mean there's 400 of them
00:10:41.420 on your farm and you know for 400 of anything would be difficult for me to go all right you're
00:10:48.900 bob you're jerry you're kim you're suzanne can you tell them all apart just from first glance
00:10:54.680 no i can't i can pick out the ones that i i've kind of grown up with they do have different
00:11:02.380 personalities they have different feathers structures some of them just the way their
00:11:06.220 their build is um the way their their eyes they have a little bit of a hairdo and the personalities
00:11:12.880 you can tell but believe it or not my mom knows almost she knows all their names um there's still
00:11:20.980 a few without names they've kind of you know she likes them to come natural and develop a name
00:11:26.500 and she's actually getting a shadow and a carry after this she's like we need a couple more
00:11:33.340 um you you don't say you're not a commercial farm you don't kill the ostrich for their meat
00:11:48.140 you don't sell their eggs and a lot of people are left wondering well what are you guys there
00:11:54.860 for i mean how can one family be responsible for 400 ostriches what is the purpose of this
00:12:01.980 is it a hobby farm or is there something more to it so years ago um because we my mom has been a
00:12:10.140 pioneer in the in the industry for probably for the amount of time that it's been in canada the
00:12:16.460 birds event been in canada my grandfather was the president of the australian association in alberta
00:12:23.740 and um back then they we did we were interested in the meat we were interested in the eggs
00:12:31.500 and interested in trying to build an industry with that and going speeding forward up to around the
00:12:38.700 covid time um you know and then everybody got on this whole pandemic thing uh they really wanted
00:12:45.180 to start to look at the ostrich just has so many amazing natural ways to help humanity to so when we
00:12:54.460 have um one that um has been we've had to process we have had to process a couple of roosters we
00:13:02.300 just will get too many or if one has slipped we live in a on a farm and farm things happen we
00:13:08.220 have cougars and we have our normal environmental circumstances out here so we have we don't ever
00:13:14.380 try to leave that animal we try to use it and so we would take the fat from the animal which has
00:13:21.320 been really wonderful for a lot of things and can help we render it down and that oil can help with
00:13:27.940 psoriasis acne scar tissue um it has helped so many people with psoriasis and so that was one
00:13:36.180 thing they were pretty interested in um but after the covid pandemic they really wanted to look more
00:13:42.680 at its amazing robust immune system ostriches just have a crazy immune system they can be exposed to
00:13:51.100 so many elements and that's we have some that are old 34 35 years we have a lot that are in their
00:13:57.460 20s and so you can imagine that they've been exposed to a lot of different things during
00:14:03.460 their lifetime and they're here and they're healthy um a life a life cycle of an ostrich
00:14:09.500 they can live up to 75 years old.
00:14:11.680 So that gives you a really good glimpse
00:14:13.700 in their ability to fight their natural elements
00:14:18.400 and folds and stuff like that.
00:14:20.400 So three years ago, they really turned
00:14:23.760 to wanting to do more studies and research
00:14:28.780 around the immune system of the ostrich.
00:14:32.300 Katie, when you say they wanted to do the research,
00:14:35.180 is that your mom who wanted to do it?
00:14:37.260 yeah so my partners in this yeah so my mom karen esperson has a business partner dave and jay
00:14:45.900 belinsky and um it's been two families working together kind of side by side for over 30 years
00:14:52.700 with the same goal in mind that um these ostriches just really are special and so we
00:15:01.460 They had partnered, they found a gentleman in Kyoto, Japan, Dr. Sugimoto, and he has just been doing all his own research for decades on the immune system of an ostrich and the natural ability for an ostrich to heal itself and its robust antibodies, which we are all born with.
00:15:25.820 We're all born with antibodies that kind of are brought down from our mothers and being, yeah, in the womb.
00:15:34.340 And so it's just their robust ability to gain antibodies towards anything that they're exposed to is a marvel.
00:15:46.140 And so Dr. Sugimoto in Kyoto, Japan, he has 26 plus worldwide patents and he's very well recognized and respected.
00:15:55.820 out of the kyoto university he's also known as dr ostrich and uh they got together and they
00:16:03.580 started with a doctor out of boston and usa and they just really dove deep into the immune system
00:16:11.340 of an of an ostrich and how can we do good with humanity for humanity with the immune system and
00:16:18.380 the antibodies the natural antibodies that an ostrich carries around and so that's where we
00:16:24.540 are today is you know we've been hearing about all these mass killings and we have went through 0.99
00:16:32.960 covid and we've had avian flu before and then now we're back with avian flu again the h5n1 0.85
00:16:38.740 before we go into the avian flu situation here this h5n1 that they keep threatening us with it
00:16:45.500 seems like every couple of months they'll say whoa it's jumped to a human and and you go wait 0.97
00:16:49.740 a minute wait a minute hold on just a second i mean how did that happen this is not supposed to
00:16:55.100 happen in the natural world but that's the side i was talking to a couple of people in abbotsford
00:17:00.780 this morning who were telling me just what you said that there's been chicken farms that have
00:17:06.480 been ordered culled by the cfia and the reason is this avian flu you guys at the ostrich farm a few
00:17:16.260 years ago had an outbreak of something right it wasn't avian flu it was something else
00:17:23.020 i'm really glad that you brought that up because that's very important here so in 2020 we had
00:17:29.800 these exact same symptoms and back then we dealt with it like we normally do on the farm you call
00:17:36.860 the vet and let him know you know listen we're having these symptoms and we have had some deaths
00:17:42.900 and were concerned about it so the vet at that time i'm sorry to interrupt you what are the
00:17:47.780 symptoms that they would show yeah so um kind of like cold like symptoms they would have really
00:17:54.920 bright green feces which um so poop and they would have a little bit of a cough and they would get
00:18:03.140 even a little bit of the reddish eyes okay so you you see that and you go oh we've got something 0.74
00:18:09.160 going on here and so that's when you go in yourselves and separate them right yeah we do
00:18:15.220 we always take away so if there's anybody that's sick they always get that we have separate pens
00:18:19.780 and they get removed and they so that we can treat them and heal them and give them the time
00:18:24.160 for recovery you know i find it interesting that you refer to them as people it's like do you notice
00:18:30.320 that carrie oh i oh yeah yeah she said anybody who's sick yeah it's not like she's talking about
00:18:36.780 animal she's talking about people anyway let's get back to that outbreak that supposed outbreak
00:18:41.440 that you had a few years back so in 2020 our vet said hey please we need some tissue samples
00:18:48.440 and so we had a recent we had a death we got fresh tissue samples and got them two of them
00:18:54.860 right away they got to the lab and very soon after it came positive back positive for a bacteria
00:19:01.680 pseudonomous and so it's just a really it's a really bad bacteria but it can be it can be in
00:19:08.300 the soil it can god explained to us that it could even have got transferred from a tourist
00:19:13.240 instead of just petting or being around the ostrich so we treated at that time we did have
00:19:18.720 we had 10 deaths at that time but we had a much smaller herd of ostrich at that time
00:19:24.580 and speed up to 2024 December we start noticing that we're having same symptoms so right away
00:19:36.560 they start treating my mom and Dave start treating them as we did in 2020 and um but we did notice
00:19:44.540 that it was a little stronger like it kind of was going you know one would get sick and there was
00:19:50.240 but the ones that were getting sick i have to note i've been the ones that all were have been
00:19:55.840 on our farm 2020 after so it's all all of our younger ostrich that are going going through the
00:20:03.720 symptoms and with those are the losses that we've occurred incurred um so we phoned our vet left a
00:20:10.300 message but because it was through the holidays we hadn't heard back yet and on the 28th the
00:20:16.020 anonymous call goes into CFIA saying, oh, somebody's sure we have avian flu. So that's where CFIA
00:20:25.300 phones the farm and says we have had an anonymous tip that you have birds that have died and
00:20:32.760 someone's sure you have it. We went through the symptoms at that time with CFIA explaining the
00:20:38.320 symptoms and we're explaining that we've had some symptomatic but some are getting better
00:20:44.640 and cfia right away says yeah that doesn't sound like avian flu because animals don't get better
00:20:52.180 they just they they succumb to their illness really quickly so they asked that time if they
00:20:58.060 if we would call them when we have another mortality and um so we did we called them on
00:21:03.960 the 29th and um i'm sorry to interrupt you but at this time so this is like right after christmas
00:21:11.120 you tell them that it seems like this bacteria we had a few years ago they go yes doesn't sound
00:21:16.380 like the avian flu so they're pretty easy going they're they're laid back they're not too concerned
00:21:21.080 at this stage so easy going don't worry about it we're just going to come take a test off them and
00:21:28.660 you know let's just rule it out that it's not avian flu and my mom at the time was of course
00:21:34.700 yeah let's rule that out because it's not even on our minds because it hasn't even been a case
00:21:39.540 in ostrich in Canada like it's in Canada so that was not on our radar and then in the 29th so they
00:21:47.940 caught we called them but there was there was a couple deaths mortalities and they could come
00:21:53.020 test them that was around in the early afternoon so those uh mortality those those two ostrich
00:22:00.740 laid there uh till the next day at about one o'clock in the afternoon cfia came out here where
00:22:06.680 you know where we're located we're kind of in the middle of nowhere so it would have been a good
00:22:10.860 drive let me stop you for one second katie i'm sorry to interrupt you again but i'm going back
00:22:16.980 to this anonymous tip and i'm looking at your location on this map here and guys this is this
00:22:24.740 is where universal ostrich farms is located there's colonna that's did you say a two-hour drive katie
00:22:32.240 two and a half two and a half and then over here you got to take a ferry to get across this lake
00:22:38.140 here this arrow lake if you want to go to nelson or castle guard it's not near anything except
00:22:44.940 edgewood which as you say is about a 15 minute drive south it's a town of roughly eight or 900
00:22:50.520 people how much interaction is there between the farm your mom and people in general i'm really
00:22:59.900 really curious who might have you know issued this anonymous tip is there any enemies that you
00:23:08.840 might have in town or is it something else altogether and i can see the look on carrie's
00:23:14.400 face i think she's probably got a suspicion too do you have a suspicion carrie
00:23:19.440 all the usual suspects you know and and you know hopefully through the course of
00:23:26.840 the litigation um we'll find that out for sure okay katie please continue you you guys are isolated
00:23:35.740 and uh i i don't know how anybody would even know about the deaths first of all aside from
00:23:42.420 your mom and and probably she called you and and your siblings but other than that and dave right
00:23:48.680 but other than that like who would know this so we do have a couple neighbors on the road i mean
00:23:53.960 i don't know i don't know you know you always hope that somebody would approach you first and
00:23:59.480 be like hey are you guys doing okay is something wrong but um so i don't know the anonymous tip
00:24:05.060 goes in and um we are we don't so where we are um we're not big in the community my mom is so busy
00:24:14.340 on the farm that she might pop into the store once every two weeks um that's the edgewood general
00:24:21.280 store my mom because my dad is a paraplegic he's at home too so she cares for him she cares for
00:24:29.160 the ostrich is and uh she is not off the farm very much so the ostriches are very isolated they're
00:24:36.860 all in their own pen and um especially this time of year we just do not have tourists uh tourists
00:24:43.840 here so in answering your question and guys look at this i mean this is the map this this is highway
00:24:52.060 six which is the highway you have to take if you want to get to vernon and then kelowna ultimately
00:24:58.100 here is granby provincial park this is mountainous that you can't walk through here i mean like it's
00:25:03.940 not like anybody is going to get to this place unless they follow the private road in am i right
00:25:12.620 about that absolutely correct yeah okay so there's no chance if you had to isolate if you had to
00:25:20.700 quarantine that anybody could get in without you knowing it yeah we under quarantine too when they
00:25:28.860 put us under quarantine after those lab results which we will get to i guess just finishing that
00:25:34.240 storyline of what happened but i mean gates are locked they're all in their own uh high
00:25:42.100 wildlife fencing so six foot fencing you would literally have to go open a gate and go in with
00:25:49.920 them and and come down our dead end road yeah to get into there so and interestingly i mean i'm not
00:25:57.520 like you know we played the video off the top of the show of those ostriches they're big and can be
00:26:03.580 mean i i don't think i'd want to walk in the midst of 400 ostriches as a stranger yeah the uh they
00:26:15.400 they are very dangerous. Even when they're fighting amongst themselves and just doing 0.79
00:26:20.920 their own pecking order thing, they are very dangerous. So they have, it's very important to
00:26:27.160 say like over the 35 years, my mom has, they've been around them. They have a great deal of
00:26:34.100 respect for my mom and Dave, the ostrich. There's a pecking order. They know that they are the food
00:26:40.840 source they protect them there's some young ones that can be really bratty like a teenager
00:26:45.980 but we have um but we have just such a they have such a rapport with them and a respect that
00:26:52.980 that's irreplaceable because these are year like 30 year old animals that see them as as their
00:27:00.120 parents they see them as mom and dad almost right so getting back to the the story of this particular
00:27:07.100 bacterial infection and what happened after say december the 29th please yeah yeah so cfiaa comes
00:27:14.300 on the 30th at about one o'clock in the afternoon they come and they do two pcr tests one pcr test
00:27:22.440 or um two pcr tests sorry per bird one uh orally one rectally on each bird no tissue samples were
00:27:32.320 taken at that time they just performed the pcr tests at that's at that time we asked cfia we said
00:27:38.880 do you mind testing some of our healthy ostrich just to make sure we're where you know if it's
00:27:46.060 where it where it's at and make sure they're still healthy and um there was about four people
00:27:51.080 standing there all saying yeah like can we that's a great idea and cfia said no that's not possible
00:27:57.460 So they left the farm at that point, and they drove back to the city.
00:28:04.020 And by 2 o'clock in the afternoon the next day, we got a lab, Abbotsford Lab called us,
00:28:11.180 that we were supposedly positive with H5N1.
00:28:16.540 Because of the PCR test?
00:28:18.980 Because of the PCR test on two deceased ostriches that had been laying there for 16 hours.
00:28:24.460 a pcr test is not a conclusive test of anything we discovered that through the ridiculousness of
00:28:33.020 the last five years and there's still you i mean you can find anything with a pcr test if you cycle
00:28:39.820 it high enough you could find the plague for goodness so i've been learning
00:28:45.580 so so based upon a pcr test they told you that all of your ostriches had to be culled because
00:28:55.980 of h5n1 was that how it just happened like immediately like that so the yeah right away
00:29:03.760 that so that's the 31st on the 34st we uh on the 31st we received by email quarantine documents
00:29:11.240 putting us under quarantine that the ostrich across the road because um yeah there's two
00:29:17.900 sections one uh across the road on land jill road is our home residence and one side of the
00:29:24.720 public road is our ostriches so they're all under quarantine and uh and a document so that's fine
00:29:32.440 we already started those quarantine measures when we found out like that they were sick we were
00:29:37.260 moving the sick ones in we we were doing our foot baths we did things we always do our own
00:29:42.960 due diligence but um it was kind of funny because january 2nd they send us out papers on how to run
00:29:52.220 a quarantine so they must have not been that worried between the 31st and the 2nd that we
00:29:57.040 didn't you know we knew how to run the quarantine well it's the holidays they're spending time with
00:30:02.480 their family they can't be bothered to stop an outbreak of the avian flu for goodness sakes
00:30:08.000 right priorities yeah i'm blown away by this so you went out and you got your own testing done
00:30:17.620 on this right you must have after this pcr diagnosis did you call your veterinarian we did
00:30:24.500 it's a it's a really great thing that you just brought up though because once we were put under
00:30:28.520 that quarantine law um it is states in there that we are not allowed to personally treat or test
00:30:36.560 our ostriches otherwise we are punishable up to a fine of two hundred thousand dollars or six
00:30:42.340 months in jail okay that's ridiculous carrie have you heard of such a thing before
00:30:47.420 well there's a few acts here and there um shadow that that you know have the threat of imprisonment
00:30:56.240 and uh fines but i can tell you um the the act under which the canadian food inspection agency
00:31:03.700 acts is in conjunction with the animal health act and it is tyrannical it is draconian and
00:31:11.140 far-reaching and you know maybe even um outside the proper rule of government in its overreach
00:31:18.860 and certainly from a legal point of view we're looking at all that you know the the challenge
00:31:25.060 that that has faced us is the precedents are are not really available here because they do they
00:31:33.460 break the farmers they break them emotionally they break them physically because just the
00:31:38.020 exhaustion and katie can speak to the protocols that have to go in place but for instance there
00:31:43.780 was a farmer in alberta and they were concerned about bovine tuberculosis he had 2500 beef cattle
00:31:52.040 out on the range. He was forced to quarantine them. And he wanted to fight. That's a lot of
00:31:59.760 beef, right? But what did they do? Once you quarantine, can you imagine trying to feed
00:32:05.600 the cost of feeding 2,500 beef cattle that are normally fattened out on the range? And the same
00:32:14.200 thing for the chickens. So we've had 8 to 10 million chickens culled just in the last few
00:32:19.400 months here in British Columbia under the auspices of avian flu. So what they do to the commercial
00:32:27.260 farmers is they have them close off their barns. Then they bring in CO2. They have them turn off
00:32:35.480 the fans. Any of the farmers you'll talk to will talk about that heartbreaking moment when they
00:32:41.580 have to pull the switch on the fan. And then they just blow in CO2 and gas all the chickens.
00:32:48.180 Then the farmer is responsible for cleaning them up, the disinfecting and receives a, you know, a price for them from the government to reimburse them supposedly for the loss.
00:33:01.440 It usually doesn't cover it, but at least it does mitigate the expenses.
00:33:04.940 But so what these chicken farmers have told me, they said, Carrie, we can't afford to fight because we're looking at, you know, years legal battle here.
00:33:13.900 Right. If we want to start talking about the constitutional charter rights, you know, of government overreach, if we want to talk about the CFI Act, the shadow, they talk about animals and things.
00:33:28.280 They just put in the word thing there. So anything can go. What do you mean by a thing?
00:33:33.540 Can you imagine them going to a court if they were required to and getting a warrant that we need the thing?
00:33:40.800 You know, the judge would laugh and go, what the hell are you talking about? Right.
00:33:44.560 So this act is draconian. It's tyrannical. It's it is punitive.
00:33:51.780 um and well what i don't understand i'm sorry to interrupt you is is that you know now katie and
00:33:59.560 her mom are in this situation where they can't go out and get their own testing done because these
00:34:04.960 guys have already deemed that h5n1 is in fact prevalent on the farm but it's a pcr test and
00:34:12.420 again i mean a pcr test is wrong it it it is not the gold standard no i don't care what they said
00:34:20.380 you're in COVID. It is not a gold standard of anything. Right. I'm sorry. What you're raising
00:34:27.620 is the most crucial. When we look at what is the real motivation here? If the CFIA agents were
00:34:36.980 truly concerned about public health, animal health, all the rest of it, they would be doing whatever
00:34:43.080 they could possibly do. Number one, I agree with you. The location of this farm is a living
00:34:48.440 laboratory if you're truly interested in finding out what's gone on here why aren't some of the
00:34:54.120 birds dying why are some of the birds dying um was the 2020 situation with the pseudonymous you
00:35:01.800 know a factor in this are we dealing with pseudonymous and not think we should be testing
00:35:06.500 for that why didn't they do a full autopsy why didn't they take tissue samples why didn't they
00:35:11.540 do you know all the things that they need to do to really hit what you just said the gold standard
00:35:17.620 of finding out what are we really dealing with here. They don't want to know. They don't want
00:35:23.280 the healthy animals tested. Do the healthy animals have natural immunity to pseudonomas? Do they have
00:35:29.060 natural immunity to avian flu? This is a perfect scientific opportunity to find out so much
00:35:36.960 about really stopping avian flu or mitigating the harm to the poultry industries.
00:35:43.220 Katie, have you had any deaths since December the 29th on the farm?
00:35:48.780 Yes.
00:35:49.460 Yep, we have.
00:35:50.440 How many?
00:35:51.820 Well, as you know, in large numbers of animals, you know, yeah, you come into these situations. 0.81
00:36:00.900 And the number might sound high, but in some situations, I've heard that you can have a chicken farm and a mink can get in and take out 60 chickens in a night.
00:36:10.260 um so i i we look we we're up to 69 of our young uh ostrich have succumbed to this
00:36:17.760 but the um they're the ones that now have hit their herd immunity natural immunity that they're
00:36:26.460 trying to stamp out uh are doing fantastic so we are at well over uh we're almost we're going
00:36:34.380 into two weeks um super here soon i have no no deaths and the ones that have been symptomatic
00:36:41.020 um we have well over 35 that have responded to treatment they have been treated because
00:36:48.280 cfia from the day one my mom was very open she's been treating them she started treating them before
00:36:55.340 cfia and she was continuing because she it's an oath to your animal you don't withhold treatment
00:37:02.660 and watch prolonged suffering when you know you have an answer
00:37:06.420 or you think you could try to help.
00:37:09.160 And so we have well over 35 out there that are spray-painted with a blue bum
00:37:13.780 so we can just watch and we've treated them
00:37:17.780 and you would never know that they were ever sick.
00:37:21.080 Is it okay to talk about how you're treating them?
00:37:24.080 What are you doing? 1.00
00:37:25.940 Yeah, my mom has her own little methods.
00:37:28.980 I think we'll kind of stay quiet about that right now
00:37:32.140 just because there's an important follow-up here yeah um in 2020 when they had this pseudonymous
00:37:40.160 they also treated and the animals recovered now if in fact there's a treatment and whether this
00:37:46.980 is pseudonymous whether this is avian flu whether this is one of you guys have a speaker on because
00:37:52.200 i'm hearing a reverb or an echo of carrie's voice here and i don't have one yeah yeah okay
00:38:01.000 you think that they would be interested in this like you know why are some animals
00:38:10.640 why did those 35 animals that were showing symptoms now better you know but again this
00:38:17.260 they're not interested in the science they're not interested in finding um maybe something
00:38:22.740 that's worth more investigation here the other front on this too that's really important and
00:38:28.120 we're all watching the countdown um the time for worrying about um infection is 14 days after the
00:38:36.400 last infection so we're all weeks to flatten the curve right you know what this is all sounding
00:38:44.120 way too familiar i'm sorry to interrupt you but the pcr all of a sudden you're positive you're
00:38:49.700 locked down you're dying now they didn't try to cull humans at least not overtly well i thought
00:38:55.960 that would be an appropriate meme of an ostrich looking over to a few people and say they're
00:39:01.000 trying to kill us too you know i'm looking at like you alluded to something earlier katie and
00:39:08.960 that was what cfia said to you on december the 28th when you called to tell them what was going on
00:39:17.400 h5n1 would kill every single bird on the farm am i right oh absolutely um when they visited
00:39:27.720 yesterday or not yesterday the day before friday they um so they came to do a protocol check 0.93
00:39:34.760 which is also a little questionable why are you doing a protocol check if you're going to
00:39:39.240 kill them right away and they came and um they even said my mom at the very end my mom said like
00:39:47.220 do you see any sick or unhealthy animals here right now? And they said, no, we don't, but they 0.93
00:39:54.580 are sick. And my mom was like, I don't understand that statement. And he said, no, they've all
00:40:01.860 been exposed. They're all sick, even though they're in separate pens too. All of our elder
00:40:09.680 birds from 2020 prior are all in their own separate pen. And at that same time too, which
00:40:16.320 was very alarming for me and my family uh they said just so you know february 1st you're we are
00:40:23.780 allowed to enter your home and take any byproduct or thing we want to do with ostrich out of your
00:40:32.360 home carrie are they allowed to do that yes well under the act now whether that act um is legal
00:40:41.780 Nobody's ever challenged that shadow so that, you know, this is what our team of lawyers now is, is looking at all these various aspects. Is this act overreaching? Is this within, you know, should they need a warrant before they go in and take the thing? That's who knows what the thing is, right? So, you know, again, yeah, the thing, the thing.
00:41:04.740 right so i mean katie you said that you can't test now if you test it's what was it a fine of
00:41:14.920 twenty thousand dollars or something like that if you go off on on your own and get your own
00:41:19.140 private veterinarian and possible jail time am i right yeah up to two hundred thousand dollars
00:41:25.260 fine up to and uh six months in jail so we are also really i mean how does any of this make
00:41:34.560 sense like we're scratching our heads saying so these are our animals on our land and they are
00:41:40.720 sick and we cannot do an independent test to make sure that maybe half of them have no there's
00:41:47.680 nothing at all like you're not allowing to us to do a new tissue sample off any new new new birds
00:41:53.520 or you know anything like that so it's it is very alarming that it's isolated to h5n1 and that's all 0.94
00:42:02.500 want it they just that's all they're seeing and that's all they want to see it feels like 0.87
00:42:06.660 so if this were h5n1 every single ostrich on this farm would be deathly ill right now or 0.93
00:42:14.180 already dead that's established and they say that the symptoms are no symptoms at all
00:42:21.460 they've all been exposed these birds are all sick but obviously that makes no sense and because
00:42:27.140 you've been prevented from going outside to speak with a private veterinarian you can't
00:42:31.540 do any proof which is probably exactly what they want when we were going to go to oh sorry carrie
00:42:39.260 did you want to go ahead i'll go ahead because this is one of the most important challenges
00:42:47.540 um that this family is being denied the opportunity through private testing
00:42:54.080 more accurate testing why not take these tissue samples tell us how you transported
00:42:59.920 your samples and we'll do the exact same thing to our experts we'll follow your protocols
00:43:05.780 whatever you know this family and i think that's why i was willing to dedicate some time to this
00:43:12.400 um shadow because this family has done everything right they take very seriously the health of their
00:43:18.720 animals they take very seriously their responsibilities to animal health to the best
00:43:24.360 of our knowledge, there's been no other testing of farms around them. If CFIA was so concerned,
00:43:30.920 they would be looking for all these other farms. They'd be going and saying, okay,
00:43:35.100 we're going to go talk to, you know, all the people with poultry to see what's going on.
00:43:40.740 Again, you know, is this a safe environment to find out what's really going on here? They
00:43:45.600 do not want to know. We have top immunologists. We have top doctors and researchers with UBC
00:43:53.300 willing to help. We have one of the most esteemed immunologists, he's created a test to see if the
00:44:03.260 other birds have natural immunity. And CFIA is saying, you can't test them. You can't come on
00:44:11.700 this property. You can't do anything. They are not offering to do the test for us if they're so
00:44:17.900 concerned about our health and well-being so there's there's something going on here that
00:44:22.920 is not adding up and um we're going to expose it and we're going to deal with it is i mean obviously
00:44:30.580 they know what you guys are doing with those antibodies katie it is and it's it's all natural
00:44:38.260 i just you know and that's what i think i'm talking about i'm sorry the government knows
00:44:42.400 what you guys are doing is you say it's all natural i mean there's a 580 is it a 580 million
00:44:49.440 dollar 590 million dollar moderna vaccine plant that's being uh opened in canada or already is
00:44:57.120 open in canada and they don't want any natural remedies they don't want to be competent they
00:45:03.340 don't want something that actually works and that's so we're so proud of is just was that
00:45:09.700 we've just been working with the natural immunity they've hit herd immunity they're they're you know
00:45:14.700 they lived to 75 years they're like one of the most latest prehistoric fossils of an ostrich is
00:45:20.180 like 21 million years old uh of an ostrich uh astruthio it's just very fascinating like they're
00:45:27.040 a pretty cool animal and um we are what we're are what we're trying to do here is we're hoping we
00:45:34.000 can help protect other farms help other animals and if they're exposed to something whatever they
00:45:40.040 whatever it is that natural antibodies can start to help heal these other animals and we can get
00:45:48.040 rid of you know whatever the government is saying like i just we want to be on the pro side of
00:45:53.820 natural we want to help other farmers and we want to stop this mass killing because the mass killing
00:45:59.560 is not working um and how many healthy animals have to die before we start to revisit science
00:46:06.440 and you know i i'm sorry carrie interrupt you here and maybe this is what you were going to talk
00:46:11.160 about as well i find it odd that cfia would say to you i mean like if they're so concerned about this
00:46:19.000 getting out there somehow and they want to kill all 400 ostriches on the farm why do they need
00:46:25.400 your records you said that they told you they can come into your home and they can get 0.64
00:46:31.240 whatever records whatever anything related that they want why do they need that
00:46:38.200 what's that all about anybody help i don't know no you know what so i'll i'll come back to that
00:46:47.320 but i want to because this all works together shadow okay all right um katie uses the word
00:46:52.520 natural i look at it differently i look at it how are we best to protect the interest of farmers
00:46:59.280 the food supply that means the canadian public cost wise taxpayer wise i mean every time one
00:47:05.960 of those barns with a million chickens in it gets gassed that's costing taxpayers millions and
00:47:12.160 millions of dollars to to compensate the farmer with so forget natural forget anything this living
00:47:19.140 laboratory can give us a lot of answers. And maybe the answer will be in the realm of natural
00:47:26.160 antibodies, antigens being given to other animals. Maybe it is the antigen putting on a mask to save
00:47:34.400 humans that have to deal with diseases. Who knows? But we have an opportunity to do that here.
00:47:40.980 Now, why do they need the records? I think there's nothing good about that. I think it's
00:47:46.540 completely. We don't want any record to exist that actually shows that there was a solution
00:47:52.880 to the problem. Isn't it interesting that right now, I kind of smiled on Friday when Alberta
00:47:59.700 released the report saying that they did not follow the science, right? The science said
00:48:05.360 something very different. Well, the science in this case, the science we know, the science that
00:48:10.360 this family is living every day and experiencing is very different than let's stamp out all the
00:48:18.060 domesticated birds. So, you know, just like COVID, just like we don't want to know. I mean,
00:48:23.400 how many of us, you know, challenge the orders? We didn't take the vaccine. Have they called us
00:48:29.400 up and said, you know, can we just ask you about your experience and why you're not dead? They
00:48:34.160 don't want to know, right? You know, and what we don't know doesn't mean we have to change the
00:48:40.200 course. Now, there's something very suspicious about this too, Shadow, is that all the directors
00:48:48.340 are coming down from the WHO, the World Health Organization for Animal Health, okay, is in deep
00:48:55.040 on this. And the CFIA defers to the World Health Organization for Animals, all right? So since when
00:49:03.860 did we as canadians you know start giving deferential treatment um or accord to a outside
00:49:12.360 agency that doesn't have any ability to govern us right so this is now giving our rights away
00:49:19.000 to a different organization so wait wait wait a minute this is the first time hearing of this
00:49:25.060 you're telling me that the world health organization for animals is the organization
00:49:31.240 that's guiding the CFIA and the bureaucrats
00:49:34.200 in this particular case?
00:49:36.160 Absolutely.
00:49:38.300 It's on our, we had a, when we applied,
00:49:41.380 they gave us an option.
00:49:42.260 So we were able to apply for a depopulation exemption.
00:49:46.660 When we got that unit,
00:49:49.040 the unit came to our farm and emailed
00:49:51.380 and you opened it up and we had to fill it out
00:49:53.860 if we wanted to try to appeal and get our bird saved.
00:49:58.840 So we opened up the unit
00:50:00.800 and every question on there was for a commercial poultry farm. And it was for chickens, geese,
00:50:07.500 ducks, and turkeys. And my mom said, we said to the caseworker, I was here with her, and said,
00:50:13.540 we can't answer these questions. Nothing in this unit for exemption, a possible exemption,
00:50:20.720 pertains to us. Nothing. And they're like, fill it out. If you don't fill it out, you do not comply
00:50:27.120 and you automatically get denied your appeal so my mom filled it out to the best her knowledge
00:50:32.820 and then how did she fill it out none of the questions were applicable to what you guys are
00:50:37.360 doing how do you know that whole section of a tax form uh if you have extra income well i don't i
00:50:44.900 guess i can't fill this out right so you just put a big x through it because it's not applicable to
00:50:50.040 you it's amazing to me and again it gets more interesting shadow so go ahead yeah yeah so um
00:50:58.140 so yeah so then we so they they tell us that we've been denied our appeal well Katie first you keep
00:51:05.440 missing this on January 2nd they got a letter saying you yeah you're gonna be exempt yes you
00:51:13.420 got your distinct order you know more or less congratulations right but then six days later
00:51:20.220 yeah they get another letter so and in that letter yeah our caseworker actually identifies
00:51:27.220 she said you do uh qualify as a rare and uh exotic like a species so that's great for you guys
00:51:35.320 then on friday that january the 10th we get a big letterhead right at the end of the day so we can't
00:51:41.540 talk to anybody about it and it says you have uh you yeah you've been denied your uh exemption
00:51:48.380 and your order and you and your order to call date is February 1st and right after that they
00:51:54.940 put in underlined this is not a subject to appeal how can they say that it's not subject to appeal
00:52:04.980 when you haven't even had a chance to say anything anything i want to know what happened
00:52:12.140 in those magic six days to go from your animals can live because they're they're valuable to you
00:52:19.360 know oh no we've we've changed our mind like what happened in those six days well come on i mean we
00:52:25.860 know somebody got to somebody that's what happened and this is what i asked katie and katie i don't
00:52:31.440 want you to mention any name unless of course it's already out there on a website or a social
00:52:36.660 media page or something but i what i remember i said you yesterday somebody in that office has
00:52:43.340 got a very special interest in what you're doing somebody's got a real big problem with what you're
00:52:48.420 doing and they want it stopped absolutely you blurted a name right out now you you can say
00:52:54.880 the name or you you don't have to i mean is this a name that you guys have published already for
00:52:58.940 email and telephone? Yeah, I actually don't think, and this is Courtney Fotheringham, I believe her
00:53:08.400 name is, right? I think she's just the rubber stamper shadow. Our research on her, a few years
00:53:15.280 back, she was overseeing the fish in agriculture. Now she's been moved into this file, and we will
00:53:22.200 ask for her credentials and such. I think it's much higher up than that. So let me just give
00:53:28.660 you your list your viewers just a quickie thing I first became aware of this back in 2012
00:53:35.460 I was speaking at an event involving a raw milk farmer by the name of Michael Schmidt who was
00:53:45.220 working to ensure that you know Canadians could have access to you know that lethal fresh milk
00:53:51.040 right you know that the government doesn't want anybody to have but in that Michael Schmidt was
00:53:56.480 also the subject of somebody who was charged for conspiracy to defraud public service,
00:54:04.640 obstruction of a CFIA officer, and his great crime, along with a few others, his great crime was he
00:54:12.420 abducted 41 sheep that were sentenced to be executed because CFIA had determined that there
00:54:21.320 was a health problem with this this herd so the animal peace corps they're they're you know abducted
00:54:29.340 these sheep kidnapped these sheep and of course the sheep were eventually found culled and found
00:54:35.440 not to have the dreaded scrapies which they were you know sentenced to death because they might
00:54:41.200 have so the only better safe than sorry right yeah well exactly so fortunately it took so long
00:54:48.220 for the attorney general of Ontario to get the case before the courts that they dropped all the
00:54:53.720 charges against them. Okay. But then my interest peaked again in this with all the chickens being
00:55:00.560 called. I had a friend who lost 30 specialty chickens. They just arrived at his house one day
00:55:06.480 said, you got to kill them. You know, so there's more and more of these stories growing. Then when 0.99
00:55:11.640 i was doing um and i think you and i did a show on it the the my is report on livestock tracking
00:55:18.200 and identity premises suddenly all the provinces wanting to track every single animal that's edible
00:55:25.960 on everybody's farm or your four chickens in the backyard and the provinces this is now law
00:55:32.120 in alberta they're assigning units to what kind of animals you can keep the federal government was
00:55:38.580 marrying into this program the livestock tracking and of course this is all part of the un oh
00:55:44.820 there's that name again un and the who of course are the one in the same um you know to uh track
00:55:52.900 all the livestock now and increasing who they're tracking putting uhf ear tags in them so there's
00:55:59.460 something bigger going on here i you know whether it's food security and all these issues that we're
00:56:05.760 looking at the billion dollar market of big pharma under the guise of vaccines and one of the
00:56:11.520 immunologists I talked to who's working now I want to just take a moment to say thank you I have never
00:56:18.520 in all my years of experience been you know the the able to watch so many good people come together
00:56:28.200 so quickly to help these 400 ostriches there are doctors there are people putting together
00:56:35.700 social media teams fundraising the lawyers when i was searching for the the legal team to do this
00:56:43.420 because this is a specialty thing i had large law firms that normally just do corporate and
00:56:49.100 administrative work saying carry nobody here but i'll put through an internal email through our
00:56:54.500 whole firm and see who can help you so i just want to say thank you and and katie on behalf of
00:57:01.400 all Canadians who have just stepped up to rally to help us raise the funds
00:57:07.020 necessary for these legal funds.
00:57:09.000 This is not going to be a short war.
00:57:11.680 This is going to be lengthy,
00:57:12.860 but this is on behalf of all the farmers,
00:57:16.020 all the ranchers,
00:57:17.220 all Canadians who want to have a healthy food supply.
00:57:21.580 That's not outrageously expensive who don't want to see their tax dollars,
00:57:26.000 just going to fund bureaucracies at the expense of healthy innocent animals who are now being
00:57:32.420 executed and i like you shadow i don't like the word call there it's so sanitized these animals
00:57:38.180 are being killed they're being purposely executed for no reason at all and canadians need to come 0.96
00:57:44.100 together en masse and just say enough of this insanity carrie you when when you talk i'm sorry
00:57:50.660 interrupt when we talk about that previous show we did was it you who said that there are massive
00:57:56.900 holes being dug i i heard that they were doing this in saskatchewan and alberta and people were
00:58:03.900 asking why are you guys digging these holes i mean they're massive huge holes yeah it wasn't
00:58:08.560 me who said it but i've heard the same thing uh shadow but i also know that in the uk they're
00:58:14.580 paying top dollar like to to call 200 000 cows because they don't want cows on the grassland
00:58:22.740 so you know there's this whole sustainable you know cows fart too much all that nonsense right
00:58:30.260 um so there is this move to reduce the animal protein accessibility for for humans um across
00:58:37.460 not only canada the world at this point yeah have you seen the price of steak or chicken
00:58:42.980 in supermarkets lately yeah well i walked into a superstore the other day it was about a week ago
00:58:49.700 and i was walking through the red meat and there's two steaks i can't even remember what cut it was
00:58:55.940 but it was like 58 dollars yeah well yeah oh i know and have you seen the price of eggs you know
00:59:03.440 like you know but the problem here in bc right now is you can't get eggs because there's no eggs
00:59:08.580 available in the stores because they've called all the laying chickens on the on the whole thing
00:59:14.540 i just wanted to go back to that you know the holes being dug i mean let's just talk about that
00:59:19.960 cfia expected on february on january 10th when we got that notice my mom karen and dave her business
00:59:28.180 partner here it is up to it was up to them personally with their by their own hands with
00:59:35.160 their own means, they are supposed to walk out there and kill each one of their 400 animals and 0.81
00:59:42.220 dispose of them themselves. If they are not able to perform this task, their threat is that CFIA
00:59:51.140 will bring in their own third-party contracted killer and come and kill these animals because
00:59:58.900 we don't comply and they expected us to go out back in our hay field dig 40 pits in their regulation
01:00:10.540 depth 40 we need to we need 40 pits by their standards of of what is acceptable 40 pits
01:00:18.660 10 ostrich per pit is what we would be allowed nine cover them nine feet deep cover them up
01:00:27.100 six 60 meters apart and another pit and another pit so they're okay with all of these super super
01:00:35.080 sick contagious ostriches being put into all of our soil of our haylands that any animal because
01:00:43.720 let's face it there's cougars and bears that are more than capable of going oh my food supply i'll
01:00:50.740 dig this up and drag it around so you know again going back to if they are so concerned about
01:00:57.820 you know the safety of animal livestock production why is this so so ludicrously
01:01:06.280 you know crazy this doesn't there's no reason or common sense even uh evident in any let me get
01:01:15.580 back to your mom and dave would have to go that this was the order from cfia that they were the
01:01:25.140 ones responsible for killing essentially as you talked about earlier in the show katie their
01:01:31.680 children yeah it's you know i know yeah they're gonna go out there and look at their 34 year old
01:01:40.020 hen that is absolutely healthy dancing in the sunshine and they're not supposed to go out there
01:01:46.400 and supposed to euthanize her by their own head mom they came in today and they had a really sad
01:01:52.260 story you know animals have a sixth sense animals know when something's not right and we have really
01:01:59.660 cocky teenager boys out there and they can get really feisty um but my day my mom was saying
01:02:07.760 you know out there today um she said even the feistiest teenagers have just been coming up to
01:02:15.500 them and almost looking at them like is everything okay are we gonna be okay like they they feel
01:02:23.640 that there's something not right and so we can't let this happen because this is pandora's box
01:02:29.860 i think this opens up the door to the everybody else they thought we were sitting ducks out here
01:02:34.920 we were a large number of animals large body mass we would be a perfect example
01:02:41.380 of what they had to what they had to execute here and they had no idea that their daughter
01:02:48.100 was going to come home and take every call and talk to every person and everybody who
01:02:56.540 my mom has opened up our doors to and we've got so many calls of saying I visited the ostrich farm
01:03:03.400 you know no it can't go we brought my mom there i brought my kids there your mom was so wonderful
01:03:09.220 with the door open and ostrich eggs and feathers and educated us and and uh it's just these animals
01:03:17.100 they they have a sixth sense and we have to stop it from happening to the next farm and the next
01:03:23.960 farm and the next farm and we need to stand together and we need to make a precedence right now
01:03:29.360 that no this is not going to happen it's not working and there's better ways to do this
01:03:34.920 than having to go yeah kill your own animals have you spoken to any other bird farmers at all
01:03:44.000 in the around and are they aware of this i mean this is something carrie i know that you're
01:03:49.700 pretty expert in getting the word out about um this stuff government overreach and whatnot are
01:03:56.620 are people now standing with you katie is there a growing alliance of of people who are trying to
01:04:04.080 stop this there have been fantastic people um i really want to you know the the freedom freedom
01:04:11.340 kind of um people the resistance the convoy a lot of the convoy people are ready they're going to
01:04:17.520 drive out and they want to support everybody has the same belief system that this is just not right
01:04:23.920 and that's what's uniting everybody you know it's inviting or in uh uniting the farmers and the
01:04:31.040 the just all the different belief networks um this is one thing we can all come together on
01:04:37.720 and we can all believe in the same thing and that is our food system and i think it's time
01:04:42.780 where we stand up and say this is our animals this is our land you can't take the rights from us we
01:04:49.120 have an oath to our animal to find out what is wrong with them not just see it see a test drive
01:04:55.660 away in a van and then we get a phone call we don't know where that test went we don't even
01:05:00.360 know if it went to a lab like where's our reassurance where's our protection and so i
01:05:06.220 should be stripped of those rights and not even be off the be able to take a tissue sample or
01:05:11.160 tests or even treat as per our quarantine um order do or punishable by by penalty uh is absurd
01:05:20.800 and we need to stop this from happening and it needs to stop here so um we talked about this on
01:05:27.140 the phone yesterday and i want to bring this up for all of the people and guys again you're watching
01:05:32.100 this right now you haven't shared it you have to share it i know i say that every single night
01:05:39.220 because it's important information in this case this is emergent important information the
01:05:45.060 deadline is february 1st that is on saturday that's a week from yesterday they're gonna
01:05:49.580 they your your mom and dave are obviously not going to go out and kill the ostriches
01:05:56.760 so we talked about this yesterday are how are they going to do this are they going to come out
01:06:05.360 and and bring guns are are they going to bring needles like what exactly what is their plan for
01:06:13.040 400 ostrich i don't know and i can tell you right now that they don't understand the personality of
01:06:21.240 an ostrich they can be extremely dangerous so um when they visited two days ago she actually
01:06:26.700 courtney asked my mom so if you were to humanely kill all these animals how would you do it
01:06:33.660 oh she didn't answer that no no my mom said it's just that's not up for discussion she's like you
01:06:40.340 can talk to my lawyer yeah she said these they're not you know there's no humane way to kill a
01:06:47.000 healthy animal or 400 of them oh yeah no
01:06:52.300 i'm i think we're at five days now i think it is yes the first is coming fast and it is
01:07:00.900 saturday here's the irony shadow the liberal government strengthened the criminal code
01:07:06.920 provisions on abuse to animals animal cruelty there is there is no humane way to do these
01:07:14.740 animals in um but i also actually that's what this is you've been speaking with the legal teams is
01:07:21.160 that a possibility could they throw that up and say this is like not just animal cruelty this is
01:07:26.300 like 400 times that oh we our legal team shadow is working around the clock right now they will
01:07:33.420 be throwing everything so um and we will keep you posted the minute i hear anything um this will be
01:07:40.780 in court this week i've asked the lawyers to see if we can get a zoom link so we can put that out
01:07:47.000 there people can can uh tune into the legal proceedings if the courts will give it to us
01:07:52.480 um but well with the deadline coming up i mean you've got to put it in for expedited
01:07:57.440 hearing don't you think and is is there a chance of some kind of injunction
01:08:02.520 are they throwing the kitchen sink at this what we're asking for at this point is a one month
01:08:07.920 stay of execution you use the term deadline ironically or sadly those are all about that
01:08:13.720 no that that's what we're dealing with here literally the deadline um so we we will be
01:08:19.840 seeking an expedited hearing. Typically, these matters involving this agency are held in the
01:08:24.420 federal court, but the federal court only sits on certain days. We don't have the luxury of those
01:08:29.540 certain days, so we're going to be probably looking at an application within the Supreme Court of
01:08:35.260 British Columbia. It'll be here in Vancouver, so all your viewers that are in Vancouver, I will
01:08:41.820 make sure that the night before or the day before, the minute I hear when the hearing is going to
01:08:46.660 take place, that you will have that information. I know that your viewers are just cracker jacks
01:08:55.060 at this, but if there was ever a need, you guys, for people, power, communication, the Shadow Davis
01:09:02.360 grape line on steroids, please get it out there. This is where we have to take matters and our
01:09:10.820 power as canadian citizens back okay we are the boss of these bureaucrats you know the elected
01:09:17.320 officials are there to do the best for canadians you know katie talked about um the other groups
01:09:25.400 that are supporting this shall you have to realize when when i was doing that is report on
01:09:30.600 livestock tracking and all the rest of it i talked to the big wigs in the industry
01:09:35.460 Here's what we're up against to all you good common people and small farmers
01:09:40.500 The big producers the big cattlemen associations the big commercial grower poultry groups
01:09:47.480 They get millions of dollars of money from the government perks all those kinds of things
01:09:54.020 When I was doing that is report on livestock tracking. I asked one of them
01:09:57.300 What are you guys doing about all this culling that's going on?
01:10:01.720 They said carrie we're not going to raise anything right now. We get a seat at the table and at least we know what they're up to
01:10:08.420 And I said what a front row seat to watch the demise of all these animals
01:10:13.440 And you don't want to say anything because it might compromise the funding and the you know
01:10:18.660 There comes a point in time where we have to stand up and fight the big producers i've reached out to them
01:10:25.680 And I said guys
01:10:26.440 We will do the war. I will do the war for you. Just tell me what needs to be done here 0.56
01:10:31.580 You don't have to give your names. You don't have to tell them who you are. Just tell me what needs to be done so we can bring some reasoned approaches to protecting human health, animal health for Canada. Right. And so hopefully they'll they'll take up my invitation.
01:10:50.420 Well, Kerry, I am seeing, and you know what, guys, in the comments, you're watching this right now, I am seeing a lot of suggestions of, you know what, it's not overt, but they're suggesting be prepared for some kind of violence.
01:11:09.360 Katie, you had mentioned that these CFIA inspectors, the ones that came out to the farm in their spacesuits, they brought RCMP out with them, correct, the last time they were there?
01:11:20.420 yeah they brought out uh two rcmp cruisers because they said just for their safety
01:11:25.940 and we had 20 really nice peaceful supporters standing out there holding signs saying
01:11:31.300 the world is watching yeah i saw the photos uh yeah so so these these folks you know you guys
01:11:39.860 we cannot i i saw somebody write down guns we cannot we cannot do that stuff no we can't
01:11:48.900 we can do this together together is stronger we can do this peacefully yeah at this point
01:11:55.420 the you know we are working all the angles on the legal front shadow clearly we have an election
01:12:02.300 coming up if you want to make this an election issue you guys that's another issue because
01:12:07.440 this isn't just about 400 ostriches although right now we're just trying to save those
01:12:13.180 this is about every canadian's right to have a reasonable government where there are processes
01:12:21.760 of appeal when bureaucrats don't do what's necessary this is an opportunity to make sure
01:12:27.940 that these various agencies that we as canadians fund um you know way too much by the way um are
01:12:35.380 actually doing what's right not what's convenient not what's easy not what's in the interest of
01:12:41.320 other stakeholders like big pharma who might make billions and billions and billions of dollars
01:12:46.480 off of you know creating a perceived new vaccine one of the top doctors in this case you guys said
01:12:53.900 to me um carrie on the vaccine front sure we can look at that but we know vaccines you you would
01:13:01.980 have to vaccinate you would have to booster and then eventually the avian flu will morph because
01:13:07.980 it'll want to become a super bug and we could end up with something more tragic than what's
01:13:14.020 happening now so we really have an opportunity here to step back and not you know act in the
01:13:21.720 interest of money not act in the interest of ego or saving a bureaucratic ass because that's another
01:13:30.000 thing that will come into this you know somebody makes a decision they have to go all out to
01:13:35.180 protect their position in the decision, even if it's a wrong one. We have to have leadership.
01:13:41.480 Well, leadership, let me use that word again. Leadership, which this country is so deficient
01:13:46.540 in on every political level that says, no, we're going to do this right. The more I look at this
01:13:52.640 farm and your map just says it all, Shadow, we have such an opportunity here for a live and
01:13:59.440 living laboratory that's not going to cost Canadians $50 million to build, by the way.
01:14:04.520 it's sitting there it's already there and study what evidence and information we have which is
01:14:11.020 in abundance right now but it has to be done right and it has to be done with the proper motives
01:14:17.200 i have third oh i'm sorry i'm sorry katie go ahead go ahead go ahead you're on a roll go ahead
01:14:22.060 there was there was one really quick there it's just stuck out in my mind you keep mentioning
01:14:25.860 this livestock tracking really weird oddly enough our canadian food inspection agency caseworker
01:14:33.700 sits extremely high on the board as for the livestock tracking committee
01:14:40.400 interesting and it's like there's just things that just keep like us just sitting here going
01:14:46.780 how does any of this make sense well it makes sense actually but how does this make yeah how
01:14:53.080 does this make reasonable sense that you're going to kill 400 ostrich and not not even and worry
01:14:59.580 about the migratory birds you know the interesting thing yeah these are flightless birds they're not
01:15:04.460 going they're not going anywhere yeah um you never think you're going to be the one until you're the
01:15:09.840 one who's picked right i mean and all of a sudden i i'm so happy that so many canadians are
01:15:17.340 marshalling uh whatever they can to get behind you here this this is a matter of saving other farms
01:15:26.280 like yours but it's also a matter of this is about a family right this is this is about killing
01:15:37.560 your own family and this is wrong i'm not sure if you know this about carrie but she's been 0.99
01:15:45.400 a pain in the ass for many governments in british columbia over the years and she even brought one 0.96
01:15:50.320 down as a matter of fact and she you're very well connected carrie have you spoken to the mlas or 0.98
01:15:56.280 the mps of this area have they said anything have they gotten back oh clearly a shadow there is a
01:16:04.380 whole um political firestorm brewing on this one right but you know like all politicians
01:16:11.760 they wait for me to give them the briefing notes and the speaking notes and then
01:16:16.500 decide whether this issue is worth it or not, right? And so we have to, you know, I've learned
01:16:23.200 this over the years, just become the bigger bully. You know, their hearts don't have to be in it. If
01:16:29.020 they're scared of what's going to happen, if they're not going to get elected, that's the greatest
01:16:32.920 ticket we have, politically speaking. The courts are a different story here. And we've talked about
01:16:39.400 the courts and the corruption within the courts and how they're in the pocket of, you know, the
01:16:45.040 the state and how that has to change. The courts and I intend to make sure that the judges know
01:16:51.720 that the world is watching. Canadians are watching here. And ironically, 400 ostriches may be able to
01:16:59.300 do more good for Canada than all the people who died during COVID, who, you know, all of those
01:17:05.740 issues and issues before. I mean, we've been around this, Ben. The problem that you and I have at this
01:17:10.460 age and stage, you know, we watched the jokes around the swine flu. Remember the swine flu,
01:17:15.860 right? And, you know, if anybody had ever read the information certificate, you know,
01:17:21.940 which was called the product information guide pig, you got to give these people credit. They
01:17:26.900 do have a bizarre sense of humor that they play out on us people, right? You know, I think Canadians 1.00
01:17:33.640 just have to stand up. This is this, you know, I'd say this is a matter. Yes, the family and
01:17:39.080 these ostriches and all the rest of it but this is a matter of national security this is a matter 0.98
01:17:44.220 of you know national citizens coming together across the line and i'd say even the united
01:17:51.380 states i mean the calls of support that we have got this is the world is literally watching here
01:17:56.540 to see what happens with this because the avian flu and its destructive um consequences to the
01:18:05.240 economic well-being of farmers and families you know knows no boundaries right there is no wall
01:18:11.640 on the border you can put up for this so the interest is global here the interesting thing
01:18:17.600 here i'm finding is um the the support of the people and comments and by the way this is only
01:18:25.420 the live audience in the next few days i expect that this particular show will have been seen by
01:18:30.000 50 000 people maybe more yeah um if this should come to pass katie and i'm really hoping that it
01:18:38.240 doesn't but the deadline is very close you were suggesting on the phone that you want witnesses
01:18:45.980 there you want people there to bear witness it's not just about videoing a dozen people in their
01:18:52.780 spacesuits killing ostriches this is about something that you if they're going to come
01:18:58.380 in and do that all right that's fine but do it in front of 500 people go ahead here's your audience
01:19:03.220 and we're going to stream this out to the world i mean seriously yeah how committed is this
01:19:08.840 courtney fatheringham and her people to making this happen yeah if i've you know i said the world
01:19:16.660 is watching and it's not just watching to see if you know if it plays out well they're watching
01:19:22.040 and they're going to continue to watch and watch every animal, you know, be euthanized by these
01:19:29.740 people in their spacesuits that come. And if that's what they follow through, then the world's
01:19:34.380 going to watch that. And, you know, I pray it doesn't get to that. We have such an opportunity
01:19:41.860 here to make such an amazing change for everybody. But the world is watching and it's going to
01:19:48.340 continue to watch uh january 31st and february 1st so i ask everybody to come in solidarity
01:19:55.880 you know you know in unity are you telling people you want them to come to the farm
01:20:00.660 because they will yeah no absolutely we have said um everybody you know save your energy for
01:20:08.100 an update from us hopefully it's a little bit more positive than though what we need but we
01:20:12.800 we do welcome everybody to come visit us here at the farm and show their support in a very peaceful
01:20:18.160 manner respecting the quarantine boundary we're not trying to poke any bear here you know but we
01:20:25.700 can all do this and stand in numbers and together we are stronger so hopefully yeah support is always
01:20:31.260 nice and i just pop in there um shadow so save our ostriches.com save our ostriches everybody's
01:20:39.700 going to learn how to spell ostriches save our ostriches.com will continuously have updates
01:20:46.660 and this is important you know so we'll let people know about what's happening with the court action
01:20:53.140 we'll let people know if we get the stay of execution those kinds of things so people can
01:20:57.900 make decisions based on real-time information so saveourostridges.com so just s-o-o just remember
01:21:06.900 saveourostridges and then saveourostridges at gmail.com is the email address there's information
01:21:15.840 on how you can donate there's information on um how you can keep in touch all of these things of
01:21:21.920 course now please people know like we're putting this together literally on the fly i there is a
01:21:27.720 team of people that didn't sleep for a number of days trying to get all of this up because we have
01:21:35.720 to mobilize and keep people informed make sure that that information is out there so again sharing
01:21:43.040 this show um all shadows viewers know how important that is the shadow davis grapevine and
01:21:50.980 maybe we'll call it the great vine instead of grapevine the great these these ostriches and
01:21:58.260 these like this is frank yeah this is lovely lulu yeah this one q-tip
01:22:05.920 he's got a really white fuzzy top fuzzy head
01:22:10.540 wow i wouldn't have been able to tell that they were different except for q-tip obviously but
01:22:17.080 these two i'm looking at going oh it's the same ostrich just it's a mirror image shot but it's
01:22:20.820 not that's frank and then there's lovely lulu and we have one named rising oh sorry go ahead
01:22:25.980 we have one named regretta.ca um bc rising.ca bc rising all one word.ca guys i've put the i've
01:22:33.860 copied the link into all of the different comments and all the different platforms you're watching
01:22:38.140 on right now so go ahead and and go look and sign up there and and make sure you go back and check
01:22:44.040 regularly for updates and this is going to be a week a crazy week it is all right is there
01:22:52.140 anything we forgot to talk about anything that we forgot to bring up any key points that we're
01:22:56.940 missing here anything at all i don't think we missed it but i just want to sort of put it
01:23:02.620 together. 2025, we are all going to be party to probably one of the most adventurous, epic years
01:23:13.760 of our existence between what's happening across the globe, south of us, and in Canada. The people
01:23:21.780 in Canada are waking up to the issues that have been dragging this nation down. And if we don't
01:23:30.620 step up right now, Shadow, whether it's on food security, saving 400 ostriches, saving our
01:23:36.960 families. We're in dire straits here. We do not have the luxury of time to go, oh, well,
01:23:46.020 sensibility at the political front will prevail. We need to make it prevail. Please, when you go
01:23:51.800 and talk to these politicians, don't just listen to them. I was at an event last night where a
01:23:57.280 politician who wants to be elected, is talking about all the problems. Not once did he mention
01:24:01.880 the solutions. People, please, what are you going to do about it? In this matter, write to them,
01:24:08.360 here's the information. I want to know what you're going to do about it. I want to know what action
01:24:13.920 you are going to put into play. And that doesn't mean, oh, just call the minister of agriculture,
01:24:19.460 which is in governance over the particular acts in question here. What are you going to do?
01:24:25.240 You know, what leadership are you going to show to not only save these ostriches?
01:24:29.960 This is much bigger than saving 400 ostriches.
01:24:33.140 We just have this wonderful opportunity to bring this out in a way that people understand how serious these issues are that are affecting our nation here.
01:24:43.760 And thank you, Katie, and thank you to your mom, Karen, for having the strength to stand and fight this evil.
01:24:53.180 And it is evil.
01:24:54.200 It's an assault against our nations, an assault against Canadians and our sovereignty as free people in a supposedly free nation shadow.
01:25:03.820 And it's time we took that back.
01:25:05.900 It's time we got righteously angry.
01:25:08.020 And I use the term righteously because that allows us to say this is wrong on so many fronts.
01:25:14.800 And there's too many fronts to even mention here.
01:25:17.580 So people, we are the power.
01:25:19.760 we have the ability to bring about the change that's necessary and we can save these beautiful
01:25:25.380 beautiful members of katie and karen's family well it's just that they're doing it again
01:25:29.940 they're doing the same thing this is like pattern recognition they're doing the same thing again
01:25:34.560 that they did four or five years ago and they're using their authoritarian uh tactics in order to
01:25:41.040 make it happen i wonder if if you know i'm gonna bring rcmp uh officers out katie are you serious
01:25:48.840 they were afraid because they were afraid for their safety that's what their notice said
01:25:53.560 did you see did you see the pictures that did you see the pictures that were posted on social media
01:25:58.280 from the people yeah resistance i mean come on they look like the nicest people ever
01:26:03.400 they're just there in support they're not there with weapons they're not there with
01:26:07.960 any kind of you know aggression katie are you seriously inviting people to come out
01:26:13.480 to the farm yes yes absolutely we said um do you we don't have any people
01:26:20.680 and whatnot is there any campground nearby is there a place where people can spend a few days
01:26:29.240 there is a campground in edgewood um we do have a field that we've actually have people wanting
01:26:35.000 to just clear some snow out of it and make a really nice big area and just um if anybody
01:26:41.240 wants to come and bring a motor home or that and we don't have a lot of power out there we do have
01:26:47.120 yeah we'll figure it out all together we've had people offering generators i don't know there's
01:26:52.240 people want to come and they just don't want to see this happen again they want this to stop here
01:26:58.940 and uh there's a lot of support but yeah we are offering if anybody wants to come visit us if
01:27:03.880 anybody just wants to come for a couple hours and show support or if they want to come and they want
01:27:08.580 to hunker down till the very end um we can do we can handle do this together yeah you know what's
01:27:14.720 interesting is is my audience is very resourceful and it wouldn't surprise me if you had a hundred
01:27:23.060 people come out you know off and on maybe not all at once or maybe more i don't know
01:27:27.360 at some point this week and they're all going to bring jenny's with them
01:27:30.500 right and gas that's that's who they are these people went to the convoy man they they get it
01:27:36.220 they understand they're prepared okay you know what i want to thank you both for coming on tonight
01:27:42.540 and and letting the world know about this um carrie you are so filled with information and
01:27:49.880 your tenacity on this uh is amazing you've talked to the legal teams are they optimistic
01:27:55.960 we're in a war shadow that the precedence that'll be set i mean we we have to look very creative i
01:28:04.080 I've asked the lawyers not to do the run-of-the-mill legal stuff here, to throw everything at them, the charter.
01:28:09.900 There are so many things wrong with how we do this in Canada.
01:28:16.380 And this is an opportunity to, you know, to straighten the deck, if you will.
01:28:20.760 And it would be nice if the Minister of Agriculture, and I invite him to do so, reach out to me.
01:28:28.300 I think we should be sitting down with the stakeholders that are so invested in this animal husbandry, animal health and welfare, and, you know, work with everybody together.
01:28:42.860 Let's find a solution here that truly achieves what's in the interest of Canadians, our livestock populations, the ranchers, the farmers, the small hobby farmers.
01:28:54.320 There is a much more ethical way of dealing with this practical way, mature way than, you know, what will inevitably be an all out legal war in this front.
01:29:10.080 So I invite the conservative, the federal conservatives, who clearly will probably be forming government next time.
01:29:18.920 Please, if you're truly interested in serving the people of this nation with good governance, this is your opportunity to reach out right now and learn about what's happening here, where the problems are.
01:29:32.380 Again, meet with those stakeholders.
01:29:33.740 All the work's done here.
01:29:35.080 This is easy.
01:29:36.440 We can.
01:29:36.920 You see this comment at the bottom of the screen here?
01:29:39.540 Where's PETA?
01:29:40.080 yeah we haven't heard from them well isn't this right up their alley supposedly
01:29:47.480 wow that's a very good question thank you for asking that one yeah um
01:29:54.900 katie i know you haven't had a lot of sleep over the past few weeks and i know that your is your
01:30:03.080 mom around anywhere does she want to come on a wave at the anybody or is she she's on a call
01:30:07.660 with the lawyer right now okay uh i want to thank you both for coming on tonight and if you can keep
01:30:14.180 us abreast of the situation and if anything breaks uh we need people to know about you let me know
01:30:19.860 and i'll get it out to as many as i can thank you thank you shadow you are um just so integral to
01:30:27.680 saving canada so thank you for all your good work and and talk about leadership you know could you
01:30:33.460 just hold some leadership uh workshops for these politicians please i'll vote for that
01:30:40.720 you know you know what's interesting about politicians and and you know this carrie
01:30:45.400 you've spent enough time with many of them over the years and i have as well um you see them on
01:30:51.180 tv and they got their slick suits on and they are spouting the the company lines and talking points
01:30:57.280 and then you actually sit down with them
01:30:59.820 and have a conversation, not a lot there.
01:31:03.140 No, that's the scary part, Shadow.
01:31:06.140 But you know what? 0.59
01:31:07.640 Canadians have to take responsibility for that
01:31:10.260 and they have to start picking their politicians differently.
01:31:14.120 Not on looks, not on spin, on substance.
01:31:18.380 What have they done in their life
01:31:19.720 to prove themselves worthy
01:31:21.300 of making decisions about your life?
01:31:23.720 You know, COVID taught us politicians have power.
01:31:26.720 These 400 ostriches teach us
01:31:29.860 And what's happening to Katie's family 0.99
01:31:31.480 That politicians have power over life and death 0.81
01:31:35.200 Whether you get to go to a supermarket and get food
01:31:37.780 Whether you can get eggs
01:31:39.120 People, if we haven't figured out right now
01:31:42.500 That we better do better
01:31:44.040 And how we elect these people who have power over us
01:31:47.980 Then we deserve everything we get
01:31:50.040 I think we're at a point where we're willing to speak up
01:31:53.040 And say we're going to do things differently
01:31:54.920 we're going to hold politicians to a higher account and one of those things needs to be
01:31:59.080 leadership skills okay you guys have a great night thank you for coming on and don't forget
01:32:03.600 let let us know uh if something happens and we'll put it out keep you posted right away thanks shadow
01:32:08.840 and thank you to all your great people that uh that follow you and are willing to do something
01:32:14.260 here awesome awesome canadians all right thank you katie and uh carrie good night all right
01:32:20.940 all right uh wow that's that's heavy man that's heavy 0.78
01:32:29.120 and who's the maniac that cfia is going to hire or the maniacs who are going to come out and kill
01:32:39.580 400 ostrich how are they going to do it like jack the ripper like where do you find somebody like
01:32:48.660 that somebody who could come out and kill that many creatures in one day or maybe it's a two
01:32:56.320 or three day affair i don't know and then go home and sleep at night yeah i know there's people who
01:33:03.520 work in boudoirs boudoirs sorry and killing floors and all of that but um that's a whole different
01:33:13.280 thing this these ostrich they've been part of this family and katie did a very good job describing
01:33:24.760 that for 35 years you you know who they are but their facial expressions by the way they
01:33:34.660 walk they all have personalities so yeah this is kind of a big deal on many different levels and
01:33:45.680 i want to thank you guys for uh joining the show tonight again get the message out there
01:33:51.300 like and share what i'm going to be trying to do over the uh next day or two is is chop this show

01:34:04.140 and uh facebook and whatnot uh and so people you know because everybody's so busy these days they
01:34:09.760 haven't got time to sit down and listen to an hour-long show so we'll try and and do two and 0.88
