00:12:25.560 about one of their meetings. They had a large meeting. There was a lady who showed up to discuss

00:12:30.660 the animal welfare and the cruelty of their stamping out procedures using CO2 gas, how

00:12:37.600 inhumane, how so many animals were left half alive, the asphyxiation, the burning in the lungs,

00:12:44.820 the pain that these animals are suffering, and witnessed it firsthand. And she was pulled out

00:12:51.840 of that meeting and uh told that you know she should have brought that to their attention

00:12:58.300 privately and she said she did and she had the proof there um they wouldn't let media in that

00:21:06.200 the rcmp is warning of the dangers of online radicalization the federal police force arrested

00:21:16.400 and charged four Quebecers, two of whom are active members of the Canadian Armed Forces,

00:21:20.900 according to the Department of National Defense, who were allegedly involved in activities of

00:21:26.120 ideologically motivated violent extremism. What exactly is the definition of ideologically

00:21:35.040 motivated violent extremism these days? Well, we've got an RCMP staff sergeant who's going to

00:21:40.980 tell us all in just a second. Three of the individuals have been charged for taking

00:21:46.020 concrete actions to facilitate terrorist activity and two have been charged with various offenses

00:21:51.700 related to weapons possession. Let me just drag this down here. We can never say that no one would

00:22:00.560 have been involved or that no one is planning the same kind of events in the country because most of

00:22:05.180 the most of the recruiting and the radicalization is happening online and the internet has no

00:22:10.720 boundaries. That is RCMP Staff Sergeant Camille Habel in an interview with CTV, when asked whether

00:22:17.900 she's confident only the four individuals were involved. It's so omnipresent in our lives that

00:22:25.000 we don't know where someone might be radicalizing or falling for that ideology. So what ideology?

00:22:32.640 All right, these people are trying to claim land near Quebec City.

00:22:36.540 so something could happen somewhere else and that's why we have teams all across the country

00:22:42.420 that are working hard at ensuring our national security the arrests come after searches conducted

00:22:48.520 in january of last year in quebec city led to the seizure of 16 explosive devices 83 firearms and

00:22:55.820 accessories approximately 11 000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers nearly 130

00:23:00.780 magazines, four pairs of night vision goggles, and military equipment.

00:23:07.060 Wow, that sounds like one of the many gangs operating in Winnipeg or Vancouver, Abbotsford,

00:23:14.300 Calgary, Toronto. Never hear about the ammunition those gangs have, do we? The RCMP describes the

00:23:24.620 charges as serious and adds the accused were close enough to advancing their plot for the

00:23:29.360 police to make a move. I'm sorry, I just find this very difficult to believe, and you'll

00:23:36.960 see why in a minute. In an interview with CTV News Tuesday, terrorism and intelligence expert

00:23:45.800 Jessica Davis said more than 75 percent of the terrorist attacks that have taken place in Canada

00:23:50.580 in the last 20 years have been ideologically motivated. Okay, we're not talking about Al-Qaeda

00:23:58.260 or the Islamic State, said Davis,

00:24:02.360 of Insight Threat Intelligence.

00:24:07.600 anti-Muslim, incel.

00:24:33.720 davis added only about 20 of arrests over the same time period have been ideologically motivated

00:24:42.300 violent extremism so we're not reading oh oh i see so everything she said before that is just

00:24:47.820 a complete pile of feces. So we're really not disrupting this type of terrorism the same way

00:24:55.080 that we're disrupting the religiously motivated, violent extremism. I'm sorry, but those parades,

00:25:07.460 those Palestine parades that go marching through the streets of Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver,

00:25:13.420 on the regular. Would you call that religious extremism and terrorism to some degree?

00:25:23.740 This expert goes on to say, I think that really points to the pervasiveness of this kind of issue

00:25:28.760 in Canadian society and the difficulty the RCMP has traditionally faced in getting a handle on it.

00:30:38.460 Today, in the wake of Justice Shaw's decision, Derek Reimer is a free man within the context of what's been going on in the last two months.

00:30:51.180 What's been going on is that he was arrested the day before his own appeal of the underlying conviction for an alleged breach of his house arrest conditions, also known as CSO, a conditional sentence order.

00:31:06.360 So I say again, Derek Reimer is free to return to the community where he will continue serving a year-long house arrest sentence.

00:31:16.520 But he ought to be freed by this evening at the latest.

00:31:19.720 Yes, this isn't America where you're free to walk out of the courtroom.

00:32:31.880 said before dilatovich and johnston in practice operate in the special office for persecuting

00:32:39.360 speech beliefs opinions and free expression that's good news that he's out but the judge

00:32:48.180 still seems to feel as though he could be in there based upon what he did and what he still

00:32:59.900 believes. Extremist values. That was Shane Roberts, by the way, of Radio Shorter with

00:33:05.680 that report. Now, speaking of these extremist values, remember the other day I said something

00:33:12.000 something like, should new immigrants that have come into our country have to speak our languages

00:33:19.440 in public? Absolutely, they should. We have two official languages in this country. They're French
