00:08:36.840 We talked again this morning for about 10, maybe 15 minutes.

00:08:41.760 Now, each time you get a call from these fellas in the lockup,

00:08:45.480 they get 20 minutes, and then it automatically cuts off.

00:16:53.960 tells me he doesn't like that expression. I agree. Tuesday, February 6th, saw the release

00:17:01.400 of Chris Lysak and Jerry Moran on a plea deal from their two years of unjustified incarceration

00:17:06.360 in relation to Coutts' protests.

00:17:11.440 that all of the original charges against Morin and Lysak were dropped.

00:17:16.140 The plea deal for Lysak was for a technical gun handling charge

00:17:20.000 he wasn't originally charged with,

00:17:22.260 and Morin signed off on a fantasy about bringing guns to the protest

00:17:29.400 Two years inside will do incalculable harm to a man's mental state,

00:17:56.960 While he was in Calgary, they also denied his wife any visitation to him for 19 months of his incarceration.

00:18:05.440 Heads should roll for that alone, and this particular part of the plea deal would be more accurately described as a false confession.

00:18:13.720 Pre-trial hearings for Olenek and Carbot resume on Monday, that's March 18th, this coming Monday,

00:18:18.060 and should start off with Justice David LeBren's ruling on applications made by the defense on the legality of search warrants,

00:18:25.220 wiretaps, and various of the evidence brought forward by the Crown.

00:18:29.320 Speaking of Justice LeBrens,

00:18:32.680 the substacker here is told that he has been unequivocal

00:18:36.100 about the trial proceeding,

00:18:39.300 previous speculation about the trial being dragged out to Jordan rule limits,

00:18:43.380 that's two years,

00:18:45.280 and thus allowing the government to wash its hands of this are off the table.

00:18:48.720 He intends to see this through, and that's great news,

00:18:51.620 as it allows for the possibility of investigating and possibly bringing various government actors to accountability once Olenek and Carbert are acquitted.

00:19:00.360 As mentioned in previous substacks on these proceedings, an application filed by the defense seeks to have the search warrant used by the RCMP to enter trucks

00:19:08.660 and travel trailers used by the defendants tossed out, and subsequent seized evidence would hopefully be disqualified from use in the trial.

00:19:16.900 The basis of this application is that the judge erred in issuing the warrant at all due to insufficient grounds used for granting it

00:19:24.620 and that the ITO, the information to obtain paperwork, was manipulated before getting to the judge.

00:19:31.940 The defense alleges that both the RCMP and Crown engaged in subversion in order to convince the issuing judge to grant the warrant.
