00:14:12.400And yeah, that weekend, the first weekend was definitely trying to get settled in and figure out what was going on was a challenge and a lot of fun.
00:14:21.660And then after that, it kind of got settled in.
00:14:24.320And yeah, we had three weeks of joy, peace and love in the capital of Ottawa.
00:14:33.460What was the interaction with police like there for the most part?
00:14:37.580I'm not talking about the last couple of days, because we all know what happened there.
00:14:42.080But for three weeks while you were there, and as you say, you were the first truck to
00:15:07.580i hope i don't have to repeat that question well you don't i uh i thought i turned my
00:15:24.980phone off so nobody could get through on us but sure enough i get a phone call and no what
00:15:30.600happened is is we had a liaison that was from ottawa police so the the morning of i i was
00:15:39.920talking to him um he told me he was going to send us a a need we can be patient yeah we can wait
00:15:59.640that keeps coming in on me i thought i had turned off the uh notification so sorry about that that's
00:16:06.200all right technology the um yeah i had a liaison yeah i had yeah i had a liaison and he told me
00:16:15.640you're going to get off at this exit we'll be there when you come underneath you're going to
00:16:19.080go around to ben you come underneath the bridge and the police will be there and i remember as
00:16:23.400we come up close to ottawa i'm like i hope they're right and and you're you weren't nervous but you
00:16:28.520were just kind of on edge right like it's been a it was a crazy few days and sure enough we came
00:16:34.360underneath the uh we went underneath the the 417 and and came around the bend and the police were
00:16:40.360there we uh we followed the instructions we we parked where we were told to and i think
00:16:48.680the biggest challenge that ottawa faced was the fact that
00:16:58.520we've got a shoddy connection with uh harold here guys so we're gonna have to be patient with it
00:17:11.820hopefully he can go back good uh we we were good and then you froze for a second you you were
00:17:18.220talking about just as you arrived in ottawa you parked where the police told you to and then
00:17:23.460what was the rest of that yeah and that's where we parked we definitely
00:17:30.420worked with the Ottawa police to ensure that the emergency vehicles could get
00:17:34.320through there was there was guys that came in later from from other areas that
00:17:43.560yeah it was always a revolving convoy where we were parked right and and at
00:17:52.260the end like that first day actually where i parked i didn't like where i was because it was
00:17:56.300in as a like along the canal and then along a residential area so i'm like i'm not staying here
00:18:02.000and and all the trucks that were in that area with me we we went to uh a camp um and that's
00:18:09.860where we stayed for that first weekend and then and then after that you you started trying to
00:18:14.860fill in streets and wherever you could to uh yeah but but we never we never blocked no highways
00:18:22.700that um and if intersections were blocked we were working hard to you know ensure that they
00:18:29.140were opened and emergency vehicles could get through so it's just kind of
00:18:34.580it's a little sad that you know you work with the police for for three weeks as organizers and
00:18:43.840yet you're still facing charges right so it's it's um you know chris barber tamara leach and
00:18:51.200and a bunch of the other people it just that's the frustrating and sad part of of where we are
00:18:56.000in our society i'm sure you've been racking your brain for the last couple or three weeks and your
00:19:02.140lawyers have been too do you recall any moment where these charges might have happened is there
00:19:08.360anything that you can think of well maybe i told this one guy to go park here uh or even just one
00:19:13.580instruction you gave that could have somehow been construed as as incitement of an indictable
00:19:19.040offense well yeah well the funny thing is and and this is where um as a when you're doing a protest
00:19:29.040right you always talk this is why we're protesting this is what we're this is what we're you know
00:19:36.580it's you you say like i would i said on interviews because it was kind of what we were trying to uh
00:19:44.420say to the government was we're not leaving until the lockdowns and mandates are gone and
00:19:52.980but it was it was never that you know we're not it was more you you start a negotiation
00:20:00.500right and you go from there like you you look at what the federal employees did in ottawa
00:20:06.580a couple weeks ago, it's all about negotiation. And yet, we worked with the police, we always
00:20:13.980respected and tried to control, we did, we controlled the crowd, like, the crowd actually
00:20:24.460controlled themselves. That's what the beautiful thing about Ottawa was. We, you know, we always
00:20:29.400kept saying, we're here, we're peaceful, we're loving, we're trying to end the lockdowns, end
00:20:36.100the mandates, but we're going to stay peaceful. And we were able to do that. You put a lot at
00:20:42.280stake too, didn't you? Because you've got your own trucking company, your family trucking company
00:20:47.460based out of the Niagara region. And it's not like you're just some random trucker who showed up. You
00:20:52.400put your family's name and company on the line knowingly to try and get this stuff dropped.
00:20:59.700Did you understand at the time what a big sacrifice that was?
00:21:02.300yeah in a way we did um we didn't um well we we didn't foresee these charges coming that's for
00:21:12.240sure or or a big well harold it's not just about the charges it's about you know your reputation
00:21:19.160within the community right like you're you're a business leader in the niagara region you move a
00:21:24.340lot of stuff as you were saying off the top of the show you move candy from coast to coast
00:21:28.820or at least from where you are out to bc and back uh quite often did you lose any business
00:21:35.840or were people giving you the side eye at all because of your stance here
00:21:39.480it's kind of hard to gauge like yeah we we run candy actually from coast to coast they they ship
00:21:47.700to the east coast they and we ship to the west coast um sholton's candy so cottage country
00:21:52.880candy candy like if you're in a variety store they're they're good candy that's what we deliver
00:21:58.400so and then we do a lot most of our actual work is into the u.s flatbed work so a lot of steel and
00:22:04.880stuff like that so we we run about 25 trucks we got about 20 on the road right now um we had 12
00:22:13.280trucks that came up to ottawa um all our drivers some of our drivers and the and some owner
00:22:19.300operators came up on their own accord we we said as the three owners of jonka trucking you know
00:22:25.740we're going up to ottawa anybody that that wants to join us is welcome to it we never forced anybody
00:22:31.740to to do something that they didn't want to do and yeah we um we had 12 trucks up there at the
00:22:39.380beginning a few of them had to go home um we had three or four of the guys that were vaccinated
00:22:45.320but they they still joined us because they realized what's going on is wrong and yeah we were uh we
00:22:54.600were there for three weeks and then uh we actually even had our cvr shut down for a week after made
00:23:01.140sure our guy still got paid and so yeah we we made sacrifices but at the same time i think every
00:23:08.420canadian that supported it did as well right so um we're just blessed with the opportunity and the
00:23:15.680ability to to do that i appreciate your bravery your courage for taking a stand like that because
00:23:22.660You know, I people tend to think of the Freedom Convoy as all the truckers all getting together and going to Ottawa and making that stand, which I think has been a beautiful thing.
00:23:34.240But it wasn't all truckers. There was a percentage, a large percentage of truckers, Canadian and American, who partook in the different convoys.
00:23:43.280The U.S. had one as well. But there were a lot of truckers who were just continuing to keep their heads down and try to keep their jobs going and not put anything on the line. So that's why I brought that up, because, you know, not only are you a trucker, but you also own a company.
00:24:01.560You know, you and your brothers own this company and it was putting a lot on the line.
00:24:06.380And some people just haven't really under or don't really understand even now, you know, what kind of a sacrifice that is.
00:24:13.360So thank you for doing that. What what is going on now with West Lincoln Township?
00:24:18.540I know that you were suing them as of September of last year, but then you lost your seat in October.
00:24:23.360But what happened there? You were a town councillor.
00:24:26.260yeah so i i've been like the last term was over this past fall and i i ran again but i missed by
00:24:36.640i think 47 votes and but yeah i was a town councillor for one term for for four years
00:24:42.720and during that time that's when covid the covid mess started and myself and the mayor of our
00:24:52.600township you know you're scratching your head you we were actually part of the emergency operation
00:24:58.840center as that was one of our committee jobs and you're kind of scratching your head right
00:25:07.260from the start going something's not adding up here it's it's something's not making sense
00:25:11.460and thankfully my wife who reads way more than I do and actually retains a lot more of the
00:25:19.900information right away from the start too pretty much everybody kind of at one point or another
00:25:26.360had that wait a minute something's not right moment and I can't remember exactly when it was
00:25:32.060but definitely this is this is not adding up right this is not jiving so as a town councillor
00:25:40.740you're kind of trying to steer the people to realize that you know it's not as bad as what
00:25:47.200it seems to be we need to be careful here you're having employees of the township calling you
00:25:52.640saying i i don't want to be vaccinated i i and what do i do and even our own drivers like you
00:25:58.540know asking us as owners like you know i got to get vaccinated so you guys can keep your trucks
00:26:05.520rolling and and i remember saying to even our own drivers don't ever get a vaccine or a needle
00:26:11.920for me like if if you don't want to get it listen to your conscience and it was kind of a
00:26:20.960yeah it's been tough on canadians everywhere right and and then as a town councillor
00:26:29.440we we we went to a few protests in in st catherine's and at the end of the day you
00:26:36.740always kind of have to walk home you you walk down the street and then you all head home and
00:26:41.020And the government can ignore that pretty easy.
00:26:43.840So this Freedom Convoy, the Canada Unity Bear Hug Convoy, whatever it was, it was just seemed like the thing to, hey, this is something that we can get involved with and help and hopefully keep organized.
00:27:00.560And so, yeah, we signed up and it's just been an unbelievable experience.
00:27:05.980Like, to have people thank you from across this country has been so humbling and awe-inspiring, right?
00:27:16.240And then, yeah, even six months after the convoy to meet some people in Renfrew and on the beach where we were camping when James Topp came into Ottawa.
00:27:30.860it was just so weird to have um these these young people come up to you and say you you saved my
00:27:39.340life and that's been just yeah you you couldn't trade that like that you you wouldn't trade it
00:27:47.320for the world right like that um what people have been expressing and um what i've always been
00:27:53.100saying too is like yeah the truckers went there but if it wasn't for every single canadian who
00:27:59.480supported us in one way or the other it wouldn't have been what it was like you know we went there
00:28:06.840but because the crowds were there because during the week people were coming just to make sure we
00:28:12.400felt we were being supported we were able to stay there and and the donations just
00:28:17.360unbelievable right so you almost felt like you couldn't leave
00:28:23.020but the the city council situation as you were a councillor um at west lincoln township
00:28:32.300they kicked you off because of a violation of their code of conduct am i correct two violations
00:28:38.840yeah so i can't remember exactly what they were basically what they
00:28:44.580so what happens you as a town councillor you sign a code of conduct
00:28:49.740and prime minister trudeau he should be signing one that's for sure it seems like he doesn't have
00:28:55.500any code of conduct that he has to listen to but anyways we we sign a code of conduct
00:29:00.600and one of them is that you're not going to accept gifts right so and that makes sense like
00:29:06.540if i'm doing making a decision as a as a counselor on a building permit the last thing you want is
00:29:12.360to find out that the the builder you know took me out for supper and wine and dine me and went
00:29:18.620golfing with me and paid for all this and said okay now vote in favor of that so that's what a
00:29:23.960code of conduct is supposed to guard against so I looked at it as this is not um this is not me as
00:29:33.460a town councillor going to Ottawa this is me as a trucker going to Ottawa as a truck driver and
00:29:42.060And I definitely kept it quiet that I was a town councillor.
00:29:48.060A lot of the organizers, you know, after they found out I was, it was two or three months after the fact.
00:29:54.180And the, but how it works then, sorry, is somebody files a complaint.
00:30:01.600So what happened first is two councillors put a motion forward that the council file a complaint against me.
00:30:09.720then the integrity commissioner would have to investigate that that motion failed in council
00:30:17.080i think about a month later somebody from the public filed a complaint the integrity
00:30:23.320commissioner looked at it and said yes this this actions that you partook took in deems
00:30:30.840an investigation he investigated he said well you're a town counselor at a protest
00:30:39.080That's not right. You have to represent your constituents 24-7. Failing to understand that
00:30:48.600you can never represent your constituents 24-7. First of all, I don't get paid. I didn't get my
00:30:56.040salary was not a full-time salary. So it's not like I'm working 24-7 for the township. And then
00:31:03.240secondly i have a neighbor on either side of me here one of them you know disagrees with the
00:31:09.840covid restrictions the other one agrees so you can't you can't keep two parties happy you can't
00:31:16.580and and that's that's politics you can never have it where yeah everybody agrees well that's that
00:31:23.200we're too diverse of a society to have that so that kind of baffled me but then they also said
00:31:30.700because i received gifts in ottawa i need to that was a one of the things that i broke as well
00:31:39.340and it was like well i i never received any gifts for for my job as a town councillor to
00:31:44.980influence me on on something that i would vote on so i never looked at it as i need to let the
00:31:52.740integrity commissioner know that i'm getting a hot dog or a hamburger or a coffee so yeah the
00:32:00.260The integrity commissioner said I broke these two codes and the integrity commissioner suggested that I be docked a month's pay and that I give back all my gifts that I received in Ottawa that I give them back to all the people who gave them to me, which already shows that he didn't understand what was going on in Ottawa.
00:32:28.000Because when I got a hamburger from a guy in the barbecue and in the back of his pickup, he actually got those hamburgers from a resident in Ottawa.
00:32:39.520So what he, one of the councillors said is, okay, then you need to figure out what you got for gifts, the value, and you've got to donate that to a food, well, a community care centre here in Smithville.
00:32:56.320so i i sat down during my summer holidays with my wife and we went through all my pictures and and
00:33:04.260and whatever in my memories and okay on this day i got a coffee and a egg and two slices of bread
00:33:12.180and i did i actually spent a long and then i spent i sent the list on like i'm just throwing
00:33:20.580a date out january 27th 7 a.m coffee and a hot dog and a fried egg sandwich from an individual
00:33:29.860unknown individual or individuals and i did that like every day for the three weeks sent that in
00:33:36.900and then when i added it all up it was actually under 300 of of uh food gifts that i received
00:33:45.060I never received any fuel into my trucks my own truck I paid for our own fuel and any hotels that
00:33:55.820we spent we paid for ourselves so there was no bigger gifts that I received and when you actually
00:34:04.320look at the the the code of conduct you're allowed in a year to receive up to $300 in gifts
00:34:12.840i think i had 285 and 99 cents um the biggest gifts that i got while in ottawa was a package
00:34:21.740of socks and a package of underwear which um i i uh i think i still have some of those socks and
00:34:29.280underwear you might even be wearing them now you know what harold the interesting thing here is
00:34:32.560that these gifts that you received in ottawa had absolutely nothing to do with your position as a
00:34:38.020town counselor in West Lincoln Township. Nothing at all. They were not received in West Lincoln
00:34:43.540Township. They were received. The problem here, as far as I can see, I'm going to make a leap,
00:34:49.340is that those counselors did not like the fact that you were protesting for freedom
00:34:54.260in Ottawa during the Freedom Convoy. They feel as though you gave that town council a black eye
00:35:00.740and they were looking for anything they could find to hold you accountable and remove you from
00:35:05.600your seat am i am i off base here yeah that's a guess but you do sometimes wonder like really why
00:35:15.100like why would you um i mean it was it was you know in yeah in the actual letter of of the law
00:35:23.120but not with the spirit of the law right so you weren't receiving gifts in return for votes on
00:35:29.320parking spaces or zoning or anything you got gifts because you were at a protest and somebody
00:35:35.240was making fried egg sandwiches in the back of their halftime as you pointed out this had one
00:35:40.180thing had nothing to do with the other so for them to try and use this to hold you in breach
00:35:45.680of the code of conduct is furious at best yeah and that's where at the end of the day i i kind
00:35:54.040of looked at it and said you know what i i lost 30 days of pay i don't really care like you know
00:36:00.140it's i think it worked out to just around two grand or something um i actually was a little
00:36:06.180frustrated when they uh said oh no it's not two pay periods which is a month it's six pay periods
00:36:13.120because you only get paid from friday or monday to friday and it's like yet in the report i
00:36:21.820represent the constituents 24 7 so just you know little things like that you're just like really
00:36:28.260okay fine break it down to an hourly wage you're making like three dollars an hour in that case if
00:36:34.200you're representing them 24 7 here's a kind of a weird sort of curveball question for you harold
00:36:39.580uh and by the way our guest is harold jonker if you guys are just joining the show right now he
00:36:44.540is a trucker who was in ottawa for three and a half weeks the first one there actually he
00:36:49.780mentioned earlier on in the show uh out of the niagara region of ontario and he in the last
00:36:55.880couple of weeks has been charged with four criminal offenses by the ottawa police and you
00:37:01.220actually had to turn yourself over to the niagara area police as uh i recall the story went harold
00:37:08.120as a town counselor did you see anything at all and i know you're no longer a town counselor but
00:37:14.320when you were did you see anything at all in regards to 15 minute city plans complete city
00:37:22.240plans did you see anything that had to do with the un 17 sustainable development goals anything
00:37:27.240like that come up at all no not not while i was there but um surprisingly um right after
00:37:37.360the this last election i realized that niagara region which is you know west lincoln is part of
00:37:47.260Niagara region so Niagara region with the 12 municipalities in it have have applied for
00:37:55.100what they call a smart city grants and some of the terminology in there is really disturbing
00:38:02.900and I remember when I seen it going wow that's interesting I don't recall seeing this in my last
00:38:11.160term so it was a little bit shocking to see that it was there so quickly after we got voted out
00:38:18.080and we um and and one of the terms in there that's like it's all talking about you know health and
00:38:28.480and i wish i could bring it up on the phone right now but even one of the things it says is we want
00:38:35.420to make everybody that's invisible visible and it's like what in the world are you talking about
00:38:42.260you can see me right here i'm not invisible you're not invisible why do we need to be visible
00:38:50.900like what are they talking about right they're not talking about you and i seeing each other
00:38:56.680right now they're talking about something that's very concerning and and that's what i think
00:39:04.180really has what what people I think are waking up to is like what in the world is going on behind
00:39:11.460the scenes right and that's where you know COVID was a big mess definitely you can't deny that
00:39:19.200COVID didn't happen it happened a flu happens but what happened that's really concerning is
00:39:26.580the misinformation and the silencing of anybody who questioned things and you're seeing it still
00:39:36.420today the lying and the censorship i want to ask you harold um were you there for the last couple
00:39:44.580three days of the freedom convoy when they brought down the hammer they started cracking heads yeah
00:39:50.220i was yeah what was that experience like it was frustrating because uh just the way things came
00:39:58.920about for for myself personally it um i wasn't sitting where i wanted to be when it all happened
00:40:07.700but that's uh you know my wife keeps saying you gotta let that go you gotta move on um where did
00:40:14.700you did you want to be right on the front lines or were you a little further back how did this
00:40:20.100I wanted to be in the front lines. We actually had one truck that was right up in front of Parliament on Wellington the whole time and I wanted to be in that truck, even though our 71-year-old driver was the one that was in that truck.
00:40:40.020he enjoyed his three weeks there I mean here's a 71 year old gentleman you know sweeping the
00:40:48.000the the sidewalk sweeping the snow away from the truck spreading salt picking up cigarette butts
00:40:55.360keeping things clean and then he was anyways I it's probably best not to go into a whole
00:41:03.260personal detail but but i was i was hoping to be there and yeah i ended up not being there
00:41:10.960that truck and another truck got towed because of of the circumstances and then we had eight
00:41:19.900other trucks that were actually on valentine's day we had the ottawa police escort a whole bunch
00:41:26.720of trucks up onto wellington so that's on the 14th and i think that was the day the uh prime
00:41:32.660minister invoked the emergencies act and yet the audible police were removing trucks off the back
00:41:39.780streets and trying to get them up to wellington which we wanted and all of a sudden it was this
00:41:45.540big emergency most of those trucks got out of there the day of um we had our drivers in there
00:41:52.380and our owner operators that were there with us and they got out uh the the uh protesters the no
00:41:59.580I shouldn't say, our supporters that were there trying to hold back
00:42:02.880or hold the line actually helped them push their trucks out of the snow
00:42:08.000to get them out of there before the police had to tow them all out.
00:42:12.280So, yeah, it's one of those last two days, that night even too,
00:42:21.140I was on the line on the Friday standing in front of the police and going,
00:42:26.160you know what, I got to get out of here.
00:42:27.560i gotta step back otherwise um they're what they're trying to do to me will work right like
00:42:33.760they're trying to make you angry and and um so you you realize you gotta step back get away from it
00:42:40.960somebody else took your place and that was that was pretty beautiful to see too right how everybody
00:42:46.420um didn't like what was happening but yet would would step back if they realized okay i might do
00:42:53.680something foolish if i stay here and uh which we never wanted to do either we never wanted to get
00:42:59.380violent and it never did on our part they were trying to instigate you guys into doing something
00:43:05.180crazy and you didn't that's that's pretty amazing did you feel was there a sense that this was
00:43:10.380coming that they were going to bring in the heavy artillery uh soon was there that sense of foreboding
00:43:17.920before that before it happened not really actually the friday night my wife and i walked
00:43:25.280so this was so the friday they started they they cleared the one intersection and started coming up
00:43:31.040and up the hill towards parliament that night my wife and i walked downtown we were checking
00:43:37.920things out and it's like i think they're done i i don't think they're going to go any farther and i
00:43:44.240i but you didn't know for sure right so yeah that's why on saturday morning i wanted to be
00:43:51.320in that truck instead of my 71 year old driver which um yeah i love him to death but um you're
00:44:00.820bringing back he kind of wanted he probably wanted to be there too harold i mean i i'm sure that he
00:44:05.580wanted to be there yeah yeah he did and that's where we uh we we look back at it now and we
00:44:11.900kind of chuckle at with each other he's still driving for us but um but yet you um yeah I kind
00:44:19.020of thought I think they're done so Saturday morning was a surprise like how fast they moved
00:44:26.880they they they moved a lot faster than we expected and and I think they came from all different sides
00:44:33.860so was it a sinking feeling when you were looking at that happening I mean I'm trying to imagine
00:44:40.040myself in that situation just watching them come at you and like going oh my god like this is this
00:44:45.540is something right out of a movie i never thought in a million years in my in my country you know
00:44:51.280the home and native land strong and free that i would ever see anything like this happening ever
00:44:57.560and that i would be involved in it yeah we were um it's kind of funny when you look back it was
00:45:06.180almost surreal like you said like this is actually happening like and the the interesting part is
00:45:15.080when we were so we had tried to come up a side street to get to our trucks and back up to our
00:45:22.120two trucks that were the drivers weren't in and the police had already started coming down the
00:45:27.940hill off of wellington and i was actually on the phone to an ottawa police officer trying to
00:45:35.300say listen I got trucks up there I got to get up there and she's like what's going on and what we
00:45:40.860were doing was the police were pushing us and they would do a surge about every 10 feet like
00:45:47.120they would surge 10 feet forward and then stop and then wait a bit and then surge again do another
00:45:52.42010 feet I was standing with my back to the police line my wife was watching the police and
00:45:59.740all of a sudden my wife would go okay they're coming and my brother and I we would we were
00:46:04.900both walking backwards like with our backs away from the police but my wife would say okay they're
00:46:10.420coming and we'd surge forward and then this this police officer's like what's going on where are
00:46:15.340you it's like what do you mean what's going on do you not know what your what your uh comrades are
00:46:20.920doing or whatever so yeah and at the time you were just kind of dealing with the things that
00:46:27.020were going on right so you weren't like yeah it's like that's amazing like it yeah but it goes
00:46:33.100when you look at the the commission that they held in october and november where you know opp didn't
00:46:38.620know what the ottawa police were doing the rcmp had no idea what was going on they weren't working
00:46:43.360well together so it stands to reason that one cop wouldn't know what the others were doing it also
00:46:48.760makes sense now i mean you would think every ottawa police officer would know what was going on
00:46:53.460if that was ottawa police that was coming at you but they were bringing in people from all over the
00:46:58.440province all over the country as a matter of fact rcmp officers and some people even speculate that
00:47:03.660some of these guys who were surging ahead on the crowds were not canadian at all
00:47:10.100yeah that's i remember trying to look in their faces to see what they looked like right and and
00:47:17.940i never had it where i'm like yeah they that where are these people from right like there
00:47:24.520is always a patch that we've seen there was some some of the uniforms we weren't sure of and then
00:47:29.880later on we talked to some other uh people and they're like no that's so and so so
00:47:34.040you do wonder right like yeah but you and i can wonder all we want we're never going to know the
00:47:42.300truth are we but i think you know what that's one of the missions man one of the missions we're
00:47:47.800going to find out the truth harold thank you for coming on the show tonight really appreciate you
00:47:52.420taking the time to tell the story and i would like to keep up with you regarding this this case what
00:47:56.660is next steps in this case do you have a trial date yet or is there anything happening no we we
00:48:03.820have uh we we're still waiting for the the the big trial there and then when it comes to my charges
00:48:11.300june 7th uh the auto uh my lawyer will be in ottawa for me or he even said we can do on zoom
00:48:19.000quite a bit of the stuff and then we're still um we're still waiting for the uh the big lawsuit
00:48:27.000thing to be settled as well so i i got three i i've led a peaceful lawful life my whole life
00:48:36.880and all of a sudden in in a year and a half i got three lawyers involved with my life and and
00:48:41.860i just want to have put a shout out to the the justice center uh the jccf for for what they're
00:48:48.340doing doing a lot of great work and and there's there's still a lot of work to be done in the
00:48:54.520courts in in all over right there's so many different fronts that we're facing so um definitely
00:49:01.100going to be busy life harold thank you for joining the show tonight we'll keep up with you and see
00:49:06.500how it's going and uh you you're an amazing guy man i mean you you put it out there and i really
00:49:11.540appreciate that you did that and you're an inspiration to many thank you thank you
00:49:17.160Canadians are an inspiration for many.
00:49:21.980Harold Jonker of Jonker Trucking from the Niagara region, Ontario,
00:49:26.240one of the road captains for the Freedom Convoy 2022,
00:49:29.580who's facing four charges, criminal charges right now.
00:49:32.540And hopefully these things get dismissed because they sound pretty flimsy.
00:49:35.960We have a couple of other things I want to cover tonight, you guys.
00:49:39.180And this one here, this was interesting because people are really biting their nails
00:49:42.340when I was talking to Jamie Saleh earlier today.
00:49:44.660And again, if you want to see that conversation between Jamie and myself, you can go to the Canadians for Truth Facebook page or you can go to Canadians for Truth dot C.
00:49:53.180Or you can find it here on my Facebook page right beneath the show when you're done watching tonight.
00:49:59.760It was a great conversation. But we talked a lot about, you know, the Alberta election coming up.
00:50:04.820It's two weeks away. It's less than two weeks away, actually.
00:50:07.420The fire and ice show that I'm going to be there for is on Thursday, May 25th.
00:50:11.260And then the election is one, two, three, four days after that.
00:50:15.260And the polls are all showing even Stephen 50-50.
00:50:19.340They're showing that the NDP pretty much has a lock on Edmonton.
00:53:05.880Polls are designed to get people thinking one way, right?
00:53:10.220This is what Donald Trump was saying all through his presidency, right?
00:53:13.680When you're talking about polls, well, first of all, you look at who's running the poll
00:53:17.840and what party, what their political leanings are, because everybody is human and everybody,
00:53:26.160especially in the polling business has got political leanings nick nanos for example leans
00:53:31.380to the liberal side of things and yet ctv relies upon nanos polling exclusively for any election
00:53:38.240in the country whether it's provincial or whether it's federal right so you know that if the
00:53:45.340conservatives are up in a nanos poll they must really be up well this this model that i just
00:53:52.500presented to you through that article in the calgary herald it's not a poll at all it's
00:53:57.520modeling based upon polling as one fraction of the final result so this doesn't mean like i said
00:54:05.900that we stop fighting because we won already this just means that maybe we can take a breath
00:54:11.100of air stop for just a second before we continue the fight because it's a little bit of good news
00:54:18.260coming our way. Maxime Bernier will be on the show tomorrow night. Max is running for the seat
00:54:26.380in Portage-Lisgar in the by-election coming up next month, and he was fined $2,000 for violating
00:54:32.980Manitoba's pandemic health orders. Remember the video that he was arrested? Those cops, I mean,
00:54:38.420they must have been embarrassed. They knew they were being filmed. They knew that millions of
00:54:43.780people across the country were going to see that, and they had to do it anyway. It was disgusting.
00:54:48.060Maxim Bernier, $2,000 fine for violating the restrictions in Manitoba two years ago.
00:54:52.520He admitted to two charges of holding a public gathering contrary to public health orders that were in place in June of 2021.
00:55:00.620Two other charges of entering Manitoba without self-isolating were stayed under agreement with the Crown.
00:55:07.020Bernier was arrested as he began a tour of Manitoba communities to prepare for the federal election that year and to denounce pandemic restrictions.
00:55:13.820Judge Anne Cron, I think that's the judge I had, said Bernier made a deliberate and conscious decision not to respect the rule of law.
00:55:22.880Well, it's a mandate. I'm sorry, it's not the rule of law. It's not the will of the people.
00:55:29.300Bernier says he respects the decision, but feels he is a victim of political repression because other people at his events were not fined.
00:55:37.120And that's the same for all of us who have received these ridiculous tickets at gatherings where there is, you know, 500 people or a thousand people and nobody else seemed to get a ticket but you.
00:55:47.820They're targeting you, me, Max Bernier, whoever they perceive to be the leader of a movement or somebody who has some say so in a movement.
00:56:00.320A voice that people listen to, they will try to take that down.
00:56:03.500That's an old police strategy, but it doesn't go with balanced justice, does it?
00:56:08.580OK, according to Calgary, Calgary police, this is tweeted by Josh Alexander earlier today.
00:56:15.840My views were too inflammatory to be expressed near the Western Canada high school.
00:56:23.300Thankfully, some of my assailants were charged after the event.
00:56:26.880I will not yield to the pressure of the woke mob or the corrupt state.
00:56:30.880I've got to get Josh on the show at some point.
00:56:32.720We will continue to spread the truth in love.
01:05:20.020And people like this don't make our job any easier.
01:05:24.760In an attempt to boot Ashby out of office, pro-parental rights groups like Campaign Life Coalition and Parents' First Educators rallied supporters to attend board meetings and created petitions urging for her formal resignation.
01:05:41.860the other one got 3,160 following the pushback trustees Marissa Phillips and Robert Sikora
01:05:50.420condemned Ashby's tweets even with a public statement issued by Ashby earlier in April
01:05:55.980Sikora questioned whether she was truly contrite and repentant questioned it of course she wasn't
01:06:01.760she was apologizing because she was told to but she didn't mean it I've been on the other end of that
01:06:07.300he continued to endorse her resignation stating that it would allow the wcdsb to focus on the
01:06:17.840students and affirm to the public that our focus is on the safety and education of our students
01:06:23.100and staff pay president terese pierre teresa pierre is satisfied with ashby's departure
01:06:28.880oh no no no this is another thing you guys teresa if you're watching this right now i am talking
01:06:34.540directly to you it's one thing to be okay with that that's something that you were working for
01:06:39.880getting this this woman out but you need to stay vigilant vigilant i'm sorry because it's a hydra
01:06:46.060and if this ashby leaves somebody is going to pop in and take her place maybe even worse we need to
01:06:53.120keep an eye on all of these monsters because i believe that's what they are and you've heard me
01:06:59.340say i'm going to go into a little bit of a soliloquy here right now i hope you guys don't
01:07:02.760mind it's not going to be that long i was thinking about this earlier today um what we have established
01:07:08.900and are continuing to establish right now remember i was telling you the other night that wokeism is
01:07:15.560the new marxism right that's obvious this is how they are trying to drag us down they're trying to
01:07:23.840divide our societies and they're trying to humiliate us into capitulation using wokeism
01:07:29.900but not if we fight back people have been fighting back they've been fighting back at school board
01:07:35.900meetings at library board meetings at city council meetings i've seen the videos and it's not just in
01:07:41.320the united states it's happening now in canada what you see are very concerned citizens who are
01:07:47.300stepping up and taking the opportunity given them to speak but sometimes you get a snarky snide
01:07:55.140condescending counselor who will say i sense that there's going to be some bigotry involved in this
01:08:02.980so you're on notice and we'll shut your mic at a moment's notice if you offend our delicate
01:08:09.140sensibilities okay so that's the kind of thing that we're facing it shouldn't matter
01:08:14.440they need to understand that people are not happy and we're not going to play by their rules they'll
01:08:22.900tell you go through the proper channels well they control the proper channels that's why they tell
01:08:28.320us to go through the proper channels and yeah sure we can go through the proper channels as long as
01:08:33.080we own them our proper channels but we will not be silenced any longer it's enough if we don't
01:08:41.540fight back this is the kind of thing that is going to happen so we can pull our kids out or we can go
01:08:47.340and fight or we can do both because even if you haven't got a kid in school you're still paying
01:08:52.800school taxes that gives you the right to speak up organize first of all find out what they're
01:08:59.540teaching those kids in schools and if you are not okay with it and i'm sure you won't be because
01:09:04.220this is nationwide worldwide now then organize some people who are like-minded and go and protest
01:09:10.560yeah you might get arrested yeah you might get called a bigot online or to your face you may
01:09:17.020have to suffer some personal consequences but if you don't stand up and do what's right you are
01:09:22.360going to be kicking your own ass for the rest of your life and you will not be able to look in the
01:09:27.480mirror or sleep at night that i can guarantee you it's time that we stand up against this
01:09:35.100it's not something that's just going to blow over they are trying to run us into the ground they are
01:09:43.940trying to drain our energy that's all part of the design of this and people are waking up on the
01:09:50.300positive side of things guys people are waking up they are seeing what's going on and they're
01:09:55.800starting to fight back everywhere from 15 minute cities to the drag queen story hours to this
01:10:02.480ridiculous indoctrination that's going on in our schools we're starting to stand up and fight back
01:10:08.260but we need everybody and every one of you that is watching this show right now is a leader
01:10:14.840you can make a difference you can sit there and say to yourself how can i make a difference
01:10:22.340organize talk to people don't be afraid to say something i'll tell you this
01:10:29.060you may lose a few people if you decide to speak up but you will gain many many many more
01:10:36.200as the process moves on and those people you gain they will most likely be lifelong friends of yours
01:10:43.900that that happened to me i remember when i first decided no man you can't sit on this you've got
01:10:49.580to speak up when i finally went all out on this show started speaking up against all this crapola
01:10:55.940yeah i lost some people people that i'm never ever probably going to see again or speak with again
01:11:02.680And that's a mutual decision, by the way, because I don't want to speak to them. They don't want to speak to me. That's fine. But have I ever met some amazing people on this side of things? With commitment, warmth, brains. Not everybody, but most people. And the energy is explosive.
01:11:26.960i got an email from from a woman today who says she's been feeling down lately
01:11:32.880and what i suggested was getting together with a group of people
01:11:37.060and like-minded people like us and just talking having an afternoon of coffee or wine or maybe
01:11:46.180not wine in the afternoon or an evening of wine whatever it is and just let yourself go get rid
01:11:53.340of the bad breathe in the good it's like when i went to springs church that day a week and a half
01:12:03.040ago and i will be going back by the way because the energy the positive energy in that place is
01:12:07.480absolutely off the charts if you're in winnipeg or calgary i suggest going there you don't have
01:12:13.600to be religious it's it's a incredibly personal and spiritual experience and it's amazing and
01:12:22.220That might be what you're looking for.
