00:01:52.560 breaking news that just occurred here in the United States. The Supreme Court of the United

00:01:57.940 States siding with the Trump administration and allowing the Trump administration to go ahead and

00:02:03.160 put these restrictions on mail-in balloting. And you're going to see a lot of headlines about this.

00:02:09.400 In fact, I even saw one headline that made it sound like this decision makes it that the Trump

00:02:14.600 administration can stop all mail-in balloting. There's going to be a lot of hysteria over this.

00:02:19.580 But what it does is it allows the Trump administration to go ahead with the plans that the United States Postal Service already started to say it was going to implement as long as it got the legal okay.

00:02:30.780 And the biggest part of this is that the United States, I mean, listen to this.

00:02:33.860 I mean, this is just common sense.

00:02:37.060 The U.S. Postal Service is now going to make sure that for every ballot it sends out, it's going to someone who's actually legally on the voting rolls.

00:03:11.280 are often called that on the court right now i think you have six justices who vote common sense

00:03:17.480 most almost all the time three who often don't and believe it or not even those three sometimes

00:03:23.500 vote common sense in fact in the non-contentious cases they they tend to do so so don't call it a

00:03:29.760 conservative court because a conservative court would look very different than this

00:03:33.020 but thank goodness we have six mostly common sense justices on the court and that's the way

00:03:38.500 this case this decision shook out so that's your breaking news this is a very big deal

00:03:43.540 i think because mail-in balloting is just so so morally problematic and problematic for so many

00:03:51.660 reasons and this used to be something that people in a bipartisan way understood one of the most

00:04:01.320 scathing critiques of mail-in ballots came from jimmy carter yeah jimmy carter remember jimmy

00:04:07.000 carter after he lost the 1980 election in a massive landslide struggled for the rest of his

00:04:12.500 life to find some relevance in his life and i would say the best thing he did was habitat for

00:04:18.860 humanity things like that but he also i think did some good service early on in his ex-presidenthood

00:04:26.880 in the late 80s mid to late 80s where he was acted as an international election observer

00:04:33.220 in a lot of countries, most notably Latin America and Central America and South America.

00:04:38.620 And it was during that period that he made those comments,

00:04:41.240 understanding that mail-in ballots are really illegitimate.

00:05:17.760 But even if every mail-in ballot goes to a legitimate voter,

00:06:07.960 how many times we have case after case challenging aspects of the mail-in ballot and no one seems to

00:06:13.160 bring this up now i don't know if the courts will be decent enough moral enough good enough

00:06:20.060 to follow this argument but there should never be mail-in ballots in any election

00:06:25.340 they are not secret ballots i have no idea if any privacy was in place during the filling out of

00:06:33.860 that ballot and i've offered to anyone who opposes mail-in balloting for more than a year now what i

00:07:52.520 box to drop your ballot. And if you dropped your ballot in the Republican box, you lost your job

00:07:57.740 and or got your head beat in. If you don't have a secret ballot, fraud or no fraud, it's illegitimate.

00:16:24.680 the threat of nuclear annihilation we have many of our allies running to an equally dangerous

00:20:21.860 voter rolls. But as you heard me ranting, and I admit it was a rant, but it's because I'm so

00:20:26.900 passionate about this. As you heard me ranting earlier, it doesn't matter. All mail-in ballots

00:20:34.240 are illegitimate, whether they're fraudulent, it doesn't matter. They're not secret ballots.

00:23:35.820 every poll eliminating mail-in ballots which i think once the issue is explained to most americans
