00:02:24.960There's a couple of there's a an overriding theme, I think, to a couple of the stories that everyone's talking about today.
00:02:30.640And I think I'll make Michael happy because I have a heavy criticism from my fellow conservatives about the way that they're approaching some of these stories.
00:02:38.160but it feels a lot like we've got college kids and young americans who don't necessarily know
00:02:45.420the value of a dollar or found out the hard way in our news so there's two stories i want to talk
00:02:50.720about first is this developing story still developing out of penn state this guy in a
00:02:56.220fraternity running a massive cocaine ring on campus and for those of you who don't know penn
00:03:00.740state the name of the town is literally called state college it's a massive college town it's
00:03:06.300And to be the number one cocaine distributor in a place like that with all these young people, it's a big deal.
00:03:12.360And for those of you that aren't aware, cocaine is a drug.
00:03:27.840I mean, now everybody's really worried more about fentanyl and also propofol and other things like that.
00:03:34.620But specifically fentanyl coming from China, that is just an absolute killer.
00:03:40.620But think about this, because I remember when I was back in college from 84 to 88.
00:03:47.780Yeah, cocaine was everywhere, but it wasn't being dealt by fraternities.
00:03:54.380Maybe they were using it, but they weren't being dealt.
00:03:56.700You didn't have the head of the fraternity using pledges for distributors and for basically mules.
00:04:06.400You know, what struck me about this story, of course, when we first heard about it, that was the first thing that I thought about, just like Michael Cohen just said.
00:04:15.360You know, I didn't know anyone when I was in college who used cocaine, although we knew of people who knew people.
00:04:21.860I had at least two degrees of separation, but certainly didn't know people who were dealing.
00:04:26.700But then I saw another aspect of the story today, which is that this guy who was really the ringleader of this, and his name is Agostino Abattiello.
00:04:35.380He's from Westbury, Long Island, not far from from me.
00:04:39.120It turns out he was using some of the frat brothers who owed him money.
00:04:43.220He lent them money, some of them to go on spring break, others to cover.
00:04:46.000And this is something that really hit home for me, Michael, because, you know, who was one of those kids in college who had friends and went to a school that was very fancy and had a lot of friends who were a lot wealthier than he was?
00:04:56.400I was the one who borrowed money from friends and spent a long time paying them back over the years.
00:05:02.280A lot of things that parents need to understand is even if you cover the tuition room and board,
00:05:06.760even if you cover the trips back and forth to school, don't forget you're sending your kid to a private university or even a public university.
00:05:15.280There's going to be a lot of peer pressure to spend money.
00:05:17.640Go on spring bake, spend money, make sure that they have they know the value of a dollar.
00:05:21.080You know, it's interesting. So I remember one of the first stories when I was there at the Trump organization was Don Jr., who went to University of Pennsylvania.
00:05:34.500And his father, our president, was very tight with him when it came to money.
00:05:41.460He said he wanted them to understand the value of a dollar.
00:05:46.600Now, you have to understand, in those days, the drinking age was younger,
00:05:50.340but not to the point where Don was even of age.
00:06:11.900He figured out how to go ahead and how to use his finances in order to bring these people in, to make them beholden to him, to commit these crimes.
00:06:27.640The great – one of the greatest lines in all of Shakespeare in Hamlet, in Laertes tells his son, neither a borrower nor a lender be.
00:06:35.320Not that we're against – an economy needs that kind of lending and borrowing.
00:06:39.640But can you say that, please, with the English –
00:06:41.160I mean, if you're going to do Shakespeare.0.80
00:08:03.700Well, especially here when you have somebody who's predisposed to using people, which this kid did, especially when you're talking about whether it's fraternities or these type of organizations where the other kids wanted to get in.
00:08:19.240They wanted to be a part of that fraternity.
00:08:21.920And here it's, well, take this money, borrow it.
00:08:25.920You want to be part of the fraternity?
00:08:27.180Now I need you to act as a mule, break the law.
00:08:29.700and look at now the damage that these handful of kids had done how about the fact that one of the
00:08:35.160parents or you know was a lawyer in this too big lawyer in pittsburgh you're listening to uh the
00:08:40.240rogers the stone zone jake novak i'm jake novak along with michael cohen now here's something
00:08:43.980michael's gonna like because of the two of us i'm the dyed in the wool right wing conservative guy
00:08:49.080that's me but when i see this story and the way it's being covered in the right wing news media
00:08:54.040also reminds me of stories also of kids who have big student loans it makes me nuts if i had hair
00:08:59.380I would be pulling it out over the way the right wing news media gets these stories wrong.
00:09:03.740They're having a big they're having a big laugh fest over at Fox and some of these other right wing outlets laughing at this kid.
00:09:09.540They're calling him Pablo Pablo Pledscobar.
00:11:11.520Yeah, the Ken Langone, who, by the way, has also the medical center too.
00:11:15.780I mean, he's paying for doctors, anyone who wants to be a doctor, except I think dermatology or dentistry, maybe.
00:11:23.380Well, it's made NYU the number one med school to want to get into in America because it's free.
00:11:27.740And because when you come out of medical school, you are so deep into debt that you can't make a living in order to cover the debt.
00:11:40.220So this man, with all of his money, is doing something great with it.
00:11:44.560And so before we actually throw the baby out with the bathwater, just to understand, they actually, many of them, do some pretty great things for the country as well.
00:11:56.260Yeah, but just to get back to the misguided conservative laugh fest over this story and other stories like it, these colleges and universities have created a life where if you don't have money, you are going to be heavily pressured into putting in money.
00:12:10.500And yes, these kids should have gotten a job and not taken out loans, all that kind of stuff. But the people to bash in this case is, first of all, the ringleader himself, this kid from Long Island, who's not such a kid anymore, is 24 years old and was still hanging around. But look, folks, this is a racket.
00:12:24.840Our kids – you really want to blame every 18-year-old in America for going to a liberal arts college when they were told by everyone, including the college, that this is a pathway to success in America or intellectual greatness.
00:12:36.520It's – yes, you should sit down with your kids and make sure that they know the value of the dollar and the value of their major and things like that.
00:12:43.480But you understand that that is pushing against a major con that the whole world has been hearing for a long time.
00:12:48.760And by the way, their parents may not be college graduates themselves.
00:12:51.380They may not actually know the game, as Michael Cohen often calls it.
00:12:55.660Some of these things are a game, and the tuition racket is a game.
00:12:59.380And I would urge the conservatives making a big joke out of this story or thinking it's just – don't do that.
00:13:23.540They've cut the rate of increase on your funding.
00:13:25.580No state has taken a material amount of money away from schools that they already have.
00:13:30.520And if by chance you happen to be one of the super intellects and you end up going to one of these Ivy League schools, Harvard's, Yale's, University of Pennsylvania's, et cetera, they have endowments right now that are larger than some third world countries.
00:13:50.320In fact, the interest alone from Harvard University could pay the entire tuition for every single school of every single student can pay for everything, including all of the professors at the at the highest level and still have money left over.
00:14:10.040And if when they turn around and they tell you that, you know, well, we're going to need you to pay part of the tuition or take out a student loan or what have you, it's disingenuous.
00:14:19.820That's right. And they get kickbacks from the student loan companies.
00:14:22.440Many of the colleges, including Columbia, got caught doing that years ago.
00:14:26.820Folks, this is we have to do a better job of giving our kids better options for training in adult life.
00:14:34.620And there are a lot of people to blame for this.
00:14:36.580i urge you fox news and i urge you all listening i know it's funny to make fun of the barista who
00:14:42.480has a phd in in in uh so in poetry okay get your joke in now but stop with that the last people
00:14:49.340you should be blaming are the young people themselves stop blaming them do they should
00:14:53.120they have more responsibility yes but they are sucked in by a racket our tax laws make it1.00
00:14:58.840necessary i mean you're stupid of your university and you're not charging the most possible money0.98
00:15:03.260Because if I say to Michael Cohen, I'm going to give your kid, it's $100,000 a year to go to our school, but I'm going to give your kid $70,000 in scholarships.1.00
00:15:27.280Well, clearly Dr. Fauci and Dr. Morans, right?
00:15:30.700Because as I wrote in my sub stack, and I turn around and I say to people all the time, you should really read my sub stack because I'm New York snark and I have that sort of wit about me.
00:15:45.080So I called my article The COVID Cover-Up Continues because that's what it is.
00:15:50.640So I myself personally got lambasted by the left, especially the far left, lambasted over the fact that who am I to question the great Dr. Fauci?
00:16:33.240Let's dig into this a little bit more when we come back.
00:16:34.980Also, we have the breaking news involving Michael Cohen's schedule for tomorrow, in case you haven't already read it.
00:16:39.860We're going to get into that because, by the way, with this Fauci story, I'm sensing, and maybe I'm being a –
00:16:45.820Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I'm starting to sense a little bit of bipartisan cooperation, at least in the in a mental state on this story.
00:20:14.320You take over here in the main seat in the studio one.
00:20:18.320And, you know, you just run that interview because when you're fortunate enough to have Donald J. Trump as the as the interviewer, as the interviewee, well, then you just do it.
00:33:30.200I hope that she becomes a mother and learns the lessons of motherhood.
00:33:34.120But then to turn around and say, stop trying to pry into my privacy.
00:33:37.340I mean, these people are – they just don't know the difference between private and public, and then they berate you over their confusion.
00:33:44.080They actually – look, there are so many of them that are nothing but a bunch of phonies.
00:33:49.020They don't believe anything that they're out there preaching.0.99
00:33:51.960They really don't because their whole goal is not about even this socialist stupid ideology like Mayor Moron Mamdani is trying to put out there.0.99
00:34:02.940Their goal is just to seek and to obtain power.0.99
00:36:31.500Look, I don't know why it's so hard for conservatives and liberals to say the following.
00:36:35.740If you are truly unable to help yourself, either because of physical issues or mental issues, we will help you.
00:36:44.800Everybody else, you need to do it yourself.
00:36:48.900And for those people who are going to help, it's not going to be the kind of crappy welfare you get now.
00:36:53.000If we just focus on the people who cannot really help themselves right now, they could they should get diamond quality health care, diamond quality food and housing, because it wouldn't be so many people would be focused on the people who really need the help.
00:37:05.440And by the way, those people who are truly in need in the biggest way, both in economics and in health, by the way, the sickest one percent of people in America are responsible for 60 percent of the health care costs.
00:37:17.360if we just paid for them we would have a huge huge relief on our system same thing i want to
00:37:24.760help someone someone let's say is handicapped either mentally or physically someone who's very
00:37:28.940elderly they should get diamond level care not the pittance that we give out why do we give out
00:37:33.100a pittance because the politicians want to get as many votes as possible and make as many people
00:37:36.740relying on them as possible that's not a way to do well that's not compassion right and what ends
00:37:41.260up happening the system gets abused you start to see the charges that come in so now all of a sudden
00:37:48.040oh he needs an mri he needs a pet scan he needs a cat scan he needs an x-ray he needs a sonogram
00:37:52.840for what for what couldn't you have just done it with one one exam instead and what and what does
00:37:59.480the cost end up doing it draws the entire system into that same sort of um magnet for fraud exactly
00:38:06.300it's a magnet for fraud i want to go back to something you were talking about earlier to wrap
00:38:09.500things up before we once again remind everybody tomorrow at 6 p.m. you got to listen to wabc 77
00:38:15.060a.m. either live on your radio or on the app as michael cohen who's just sitting to me right now
00:38:20.680live will be interviewing live president donald trump but the other thing about you look at what
00:38:25.280the rich do and they put money out in the system if you saw the hobbit and big dragon smaug sitting
00:38:30.120on that mountain of diamonds and gold coins that was a fantasy movie that's not what the rich do
00:38:35.180they don't just sit on a mountain of money they spend it in this ready
