Stone and Smith discuss the dynamics of the race, and why a MAGA Republican might be the best choice to challenge Mitt Romney. 00:00:00.000 The Stone Zone, with legendary Republican strategist and political icon and pundit, Roger Stone.
00:00:11.180 Stone has served as a senior campaign aide to three Republican presidents.
00:00:15.380 He is a New York Times bestselling author and a longtime friend and advisor of President Donald Trump.
00:00:21.020 As an outspoken libertarian, Stone has appeared on thousands of broadcasts,
00:00:25.000 spoken at countless venues, and lectured before the prestigious Oxford Political Union and the Cambridge Union Society.
00:00:32.060 Due to his four-plus decades in the political and cultural arena, Stone has become a pop culture icon.
00:00:37.400 And now, here's your host, Roger Stone.
00:00:44.000 Welcome. I'm Roger Stone, and yes, you are back in the Stone Zone.
00:00:49.340 Today, we're going to focus in the first part of the show on the U.S. Senate race in Utah, one of the most important races in the country.
00:00:59.700 There has been a MAGA upheaval in that race, and we're going to tell you all about it.
00:01:05.460 Joining me now to help break that down and also talk about the political events of the day.
00:01:10.980 And later on, we interview Michael Nixon, a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 3rd Congressional District of Georgia.
00:01:20.760 So, we have two great candidates today, candidates deserving of your support, and I hope you will hang on to listen to that.
00:01:29.500 First, I bring my regular co-host, Troy Smith, the editor-in-chief of Slingshot.News.
00:01:36.980 Roger, it's an honor to be here. We're hitting both houses of Congress today. Let's do it.
00:01:43.420 So, Troy, to be honest with you, Mitt Romney, I've never been a fan of Mitt Romney.
00:01:49.680 When Mitt Romney was nominated by the Republican Party in 2012, I actually left the party of Lincoln.
00:01:58.200 I was so concerned that Mitt Romney was not in any way a conservative in the traditional sense that I could not support his candidacy.
00:02:10.420 I also knew, of course, about his family history.
00:02:16.060 His father, George Romney, who had been governor of Michigan, long time independent before he became a Republican,
00:02:24.880 had refused to endorse Barry Goldwater in the 1964 presidential contest.
00:02:31.660 Mitt Romney, of course, had run in Massachusetts as a Republican after spending most of his adult life as an independent for the U.S. Senate against Ted Kennedy.
00:02:44.060 People don't remember this, but he ran as a proponent of abortion on demand and of same-sex marriage.
00:02:54.500 That was 1978. Many people have forgotten it.
00:02:59.000 He would later become elected governor of Massachusetts, serving in that position for two terms.
00:03:07.660 Interestingly, when he decided to run for the U.S. Senate in Utah, a state in which he had a vacation home,
00:03:17.420 a state in which he certainly had family roots, but not really a state that he lived in,
00:03:22.780 he prevailed upon President Donald Trump to clear the Republican Senate primary field.
00:03:31.040 I believe it was the Republican attorney general who had been planning to run for the Senate.
00:03:37.420 He was a Trump supporter, but Trump ultimately agreed to clear the field for Mitt Romney,
00:03:44.680 and he actually endorsed Mitt Romney in that Senate primary contest just six years ago.
00:03:53.220 It was very clear, based on Mitt Romney's treachery and the fact that he was one of, I believe, only two Republicans
00:04:01.080 to vote for one of the articles of impeachment against President Trump,
00:04:06.060 and undermining him at every turn, that Mitt Romney was out in the open as an opponent to the president,
00:04:17.900 acting more like a Democrat than a Republican.
00:04:21.900 But back in Utah, nobody wanted to step forward to challenge Mitt Romney
00:04:26.540 because Mitt Romney had unlimited campaign funds at his disposal.
00:04:32.020 Between his personal wealth and his ability to tap into special interest money,
00:04:37.400 nobody wanted to take on this fight, except for one man, Trent Staggs.
00:04:43.720 Trent Staggs was a prominent mayor, but certainly not a household name in Utah.
00:04:50.340 But when no other principled MAGA Republican would step forward, well, Mayor Trent Staggs did declare his candidacy.
00:04:59.580 The first time Trent Staggs was on this show, he was a long-shot candidate against Mitt Romney.
00:05:07.700 A lot has happened since then.
00:05:10.520 Mitt Romney withdrew from the race.
00:05:13.440 Mayor Trent Staggs has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
00:05:23.280 Mayor Staggs sweepingly won the Republican State Convention endorsement on the 25th.
00:05:30.240 And it is very clear that he is heading now for a bruising, but I think successful primary.
00:05:40.520 To talk about all of this, Mayor Trent Staggs joins us now.
00:05:47.420 There he is.
00:05:48.560 Roger, hey, it's great to be with you.
00:05:50.100 Thank you so much.
00:05:51.080 Love the analysis, and I can't disagree.
00:05:53.400 I mean, back in the day when you and I first spoke, right, considered a bit of a long shot.
00:05:58.300 We were the only ones to challenge Mitt Romney back in May of last year.
00:06:02.580 That was my stated goal.
00:06:04.240 I said, we need to unseat this guy.
00:06:06.140 Not only has he not held to his promises that he ran on back in 2018, but, you know, the way in which he has been so petulantly opposed to President Trump is just, it's unbecoming and not something we want to see here in the state of Utah.
00:06:22.640 And so, yeah, made that announcement.
00:06:26.520 Nobody else came into the race until around October when Mitch said he wasn't going to seek re-election.
00:06:32.920 And, you know, when we first announced, it was, he was at about 50% favorability still amongst Republican primary voters.
00:06:40.500 But after putting out our launch video that reminded everybody of these promises he made, you know, he claimed he was going to end illegal immigration, he balanced the budget, he'd stop federal spending and overreach, and he'd confirm conservative justices.
00:06:55.880 His record is just the opposite.
00:06:58.420 He's rarely here, as you indicated.
00:07:00.520 He doesn't really have a lengthy history in Utah.
00:07:03.000 And the fact that the representation was also pretty weak, you know, just, I think we were, we were reminding people of that, and Utahns remembered.
00:07:13.660 And after having a million-plus views of our launch video and being on great shows like yours where, you know, people were reminded of the fact of his record, he went down to a good 30% favorability in the polls.
00:07:27.060 And we're just, we're feeling very, very fortunate to have all the support that we have, and especially to have the endorsement of President Trump.
00:07:35.820 You've worked very, very hard to get to where you are.
00:07:39.500 I know there were days in which it looked bleak.
00:07:42.280 You took on a long shot that nobody else would do.
00:07:45.980 Now, of course, that Mitt Romney has withdrawn, well, candidates are coming out of the woodwork.
00:07:52.140 But none of them are Trump Republicans.
00:07:55.400 None of them are MAGA candidates.
00:07:58.880 I'm not asking you to attack your opponents, but give us a quick rundown of who else is now seeking this seat.
00:08:06.560 Well, and the unfortunate thing, Roger, is that pre-2014 in the state, I would automatically be the nominee.
00:08:14.700 I'd be in the general.
00:08:16.380 And, you know, in Utah, we don't have competitive generals.
00:08:18.940 I mean, we'll win Republicans historically, they'll win 10, 15 points in a general election.
00:08:24.440 And so the way that our caucus convention system used to work and what got us great people like Mike Lee elected back in 2010 is that if you receive 60% of the delegate's support, you were automatically the Republican nominee, went straight to the general.
00:08:41.580 We got 70% on Saturday.
00:08:44.800 70%.
00:08:45.400 It was historic.
00:08:46.240 I mean, we've never seen an open Senate seat garner that kind of delegate support.
00:08:51.720 So we should be right now the nominee.
00:08:56.880 But in 2014, after Mike Lee unseated a three-term incumbent Senator Bob Bennett, the establishment here got scared.
00:09:04.540 They passed what I call the RINO Protection Act, and they allow people to gather signatures, go out and buy their way on the ballot, and force a primary irrespective of the outcome of the convention.
00:09:16.880 And so that's the landscape right now is that I won, you know, overwhelmingly the convention should be the only nominee or should be the nominee.
00:09:26.780 But there are three people that gathered signatures, one of which is Congressman John Curtis.
00:09:31.960 We know Congressman Curtis has not been a lifelong Republican.
00:09:36.700 He was chair of the Utah County Democratic Party for a period of time.
00:09:42.560 He was one of 30 Republicans or so that voted for the January 6th committee.
00:09:46.280 He supported the impeachment inquiry of President Trump.
00:09:50.020 He censured President Trump on the House floor.
00:09:52.620 And he also chairs the Climate Caucus.
00:09:55.720 You know, I took an oil and gas company, an energy company, public.
00:09:58.680 I've got the endorsement, among many others, of the Oil and Gas Workers Association.
00:10:02.720 I'm not going to be subscribing to climate alarmism at, you know, in any sense.
00:10:09.160 He's probably the main competitor, the one with the most name ID as a current congressman.
00:10:17.380 Another individual that made his way on the ballot by buying his way on the ballot is our former state Speaker of the House.
00:10:26.380 You know, he's not well known.
00:10:29.180 He spent three and a half million dollars already in his campaign and were pulling ahead and had a very convincing win at the convention over him.
00:10:39.220 And then there's another gentleman, a third one, a businessman who really has, you know, no political background whatsoever,
00:10:50.000 announced his candidacy three months ago and has a little bit of money that he has thrown in it already.
00:10:56.120 And so those are those are the three people, in addition to myself, they'll be on the primary ballot.
00:11:01.140 And yet June 25th is it's kind of a short window.
00:11:03.440 And so we are we're cranking up after that great endorsement by President Trump on Saturday.
00:11:09.160 I spoke to him again on Sunday to let him know the convention results.
00:11:11.980 And I was happy to hear that.
00:11:14.040 And we we expect to win here June 25th and lock this up again in Utah.
00:11:19.500 Our general election is effectively our Republican primary election and winning this in the next the next seven, eight weeks is going to all but guarantee that we will be the next senator here in the state of Utah.
00:11:32.920 Folks, if you're just tuning in, we're here with Mayor Trent Staggs, who has just gotten the endorsement of President Donald Trump for the U.S.
00:11:41.240 Senate, who won a smashing victory last Saturday at the Utah Republican State Convention, now goes on to a primary.
00:11:50.040 When we come back, we're going to talk about how you can help him win that primary, because we need men like Trent Staggs to help Donald Trump in the U.S.
00:11:59.460 Senate. So stand by for this commercial message.
00:12:02.340 And we'll be right back with more of Mayor Trent Staggs, the next U.S.
00:12:07.260 senator from the state of Utah.
00:12:11.240 Glutathione, I'm so excited that we have a fantastic delivery system for it, because glutathione is the master detoxifier and master antioxidant.
00:12:24.740 Glutathione is like oxygen.
00:12:26.480 OK, you will die in three to seven minutes if you don't get glutathione.
00:12:31.040 Wow.
00:12:31.900 And at three to seven minutes.
00:12:33.580 And we have a way now to get the whole glutathione in your cells in about 90 seconds without using a glutathione IV.
00:12:43.980 It is the most important molecule in your body.
00:12:46.940 Glutathione helps your brain, your liver.
00:12:50.200 It performs 400 functions in your body.
00:12:53.780 So the mass, you know, it will detox every heavy metal, every pesticide, every herbicide.
00:13:00.540 It will detox spike protein from your body.
00:13:03.760 It will detox graphene oxide.
00:13:06.020 And it is the master detoxifier and antioxidant.
00:13:09.380 So glutathione is needed every single day.
00:13:13.080 Noomi.com slash house one.
00:13:15.740 Hi, neighbor Pat Boone here today.
00:13:17.840 I want to help you find some peace of mind concerning your money.
00:13:22.740 Like it or not, we're all living in a financial war zone.
00:13:26.400 That's right.
00:13:27.140 We're watching our hard-earned dollars get crushed by inflation.
00:13:31.120 In fact, recently inflation reached its highest level in 40 years.
00:13:36.160 And on top of that, cash, which has always represented freedom and privacy,
00:13:40.520 is more and more being replaced by a cashless system.
00:13:44.580 That's right.
00:13:45.140 Powerful forces are definitely waging a war against cash.
00:13:49.660 So I'm encouraging you to prepare before it's too late.

00:14:30.940 And this is, yet again, The Stone Zone.
00:14:33.560 I'm here with my co-host, Troy Smith,
00:14:37.220 the editor-in-chief of Slingshot.news.
00:14:40.340 If you're not subscribed to Slingshot.news, well, you need to.
00:14:44.480 It's absolutely free.
00:14:46.140 And you can get cutting-edge information of what's happening in America in politics and culture every single day.
00:14:53.900 We're also here with Mayor Trent Staggs, who is on his way to being the U.S. senator from Utah.
00:15:02.040 It has been a long, tortured path.
00:15:06.740 I just, let's put up President Trump's strong endorsement of Trent Staggs.
00:15:12.340 There it is, folks.
00:15:13.820 Trent Staggs is 100% MAGA and is running to fill the Mitt Romney seat,
00:15:19.660 a total loser, as the next senator from the great state of Utah.
00:15:23.620 A highly successful entrepreneur who has served brilliantly as mayor of Riverton for the past six years,
00:15:30.820 Trent knows how to create jobs, stop inflation, grow the economy, and secure our border.
00:15:36.980 As your next senator, Trent will help us unleash American energy,
00:15:41.420 support our military and vets, and protect our always-under-siege Second Amendment.
00:15:47.260 Trent Staggs has my complete and total endorsement,
00:15:50.120 and he will be a great senator and never let you down.
00:15:55.100 That is a warm and valuable testimony.
00:15:58.900 We're going to see, Trent, exactly how potent the Trump endorsement is in the Republican primary.
00:16:06.560 In the 45 years that I've been in American politics,
00:16:10.500 and I've studied polling all my adult life,
00:16:13.980 there's never been an endorsement that packs the kind of wallop that Donald Trump's does.
00:16:20.220 Normally, support is not transferable, but there's one exception to that rule.
00:16:25.400 That is the Trump exception.
00:16:28.200 So I think despite the fact that you, no doubt,
00:16:31.620 will go into the June 25th primary with lesser dollars than your opponents,
00:16:38.500 you have something more valuable than money, the Trump endorsement.
00:16:43.460 However, there's an obvious conundrum.
00:16:46.680 If everybody doesn't know that President Trump has endorsed you,
00:16:50.600 well, then it cannot have its full impact.
00:16:53.820 So what do you think you have to raise between now and the primary?
00:16:59.700 These are daunting numbers, folks.
00:17:01.440 Running for office is very expensive in America today.
00:17:05.180 Trent?
00:17:05.360 Yeah, it is.
00:17:08.420 The good news, however, and like you said, yeah, that Trump endorsement is a currency in and of itself
00:17:14.160 and a very valuable one.
00:17:16.340 So I don't think we need to match what opponents have put up.
00:17:19.840 But Utah has 3.2 million people in the state.
00:17:23.500 And, you know, we've raised around a million dollars to date in this 11 months that we've been campaigning.
00:17:30.020 Yesterday was a very successful day.
00:17:32.000 And over the weekend, getting that Trump endorsement and winning so resoundingly at convention.
00:17:36.040 But we think we need at least another million dollars here in the campaign.
00:17:42.960 There are some PACs that have approached us that want to support because we know that Congressman Curtis has some support from outside PACs.
00:17:52.240 And the fortunate thing with Utah having just 3 million people, it was anticipated that we would need around 3 million to $5 million to win this race in total money spent.
00:18:07.180 And that seems to scan with elections from the past.
00:18:11.640 And, you know, when you put that into context, when you're looking at it outside the state of Utah,
00:18:16.320 I know so many other Senate races right now that are incredibly, incredibly expensive.
00:18:21.980 You know, much more than that.
00:18:24.660 So it's quite the bargain to be able to get a constitutional conservative, an America first senator in there to replace Mitt Romney, folks.
00:18:33.820 This is a flip.
00:18:34.840 I mean, it could be viewed effectively as a flip from almost a Democratic seat here.
00:18:40.660 Have somebody go back there, work with Mike Lee, not be canceling out his vote with respect to important matters.
00:18:47.160 I've committed also to join the Executive Steering Committee, which is like the Freedom Caucus equivalent of the Senate.
00:18:53.820 When Senator Tuberville came out here and endorsed my candidacy, he said, look, we've got to have people in there that are going to support President Trump.
00:19:01.100 We need them in office.
00:19:02.380 But right now there are only about 18 of the 49 senators, Republicans, that really part of this committee.
00:19:11.280 And we've got to have the majority within our own caucus so that we ensure that we don't elect a Mitch McConnell 2.0 as the next Senate majority leader here in January,
00:19:20.540 and that we are able to advance that America first agenda and work wholeheartedly to support President Trump.
00:19:27.160 Because as you know, Roger, there were some there in 2016, early 2017, in President Trump's first term that were not supportive.
00:19:38.100 And that's why, unfortunately, we didn't get the border wall finished.
00:19:41.020 There were a number of things that we weren't able to do.
00:19:43.740 And we've got to get back there and support President Trump day one.
00:19:46.440 Folks, I'm going to put up the graphic where you can go to make a contribution to Trent Staggs' campaign.
00:19:53.700 Let's put that up full screen.
00:19:55.660 If we could, there it is, trentstaggs.com.
00:19:58.140 Pretty easy to remember, folks, trentstaggs.com.
00:20:02.000 Please go to his website and make your maximum contribution.
00:20:06.140 As the mayor just said, the vote per person is far less expensive in Utah than certain other states.
00:20:15.140 Here's an opportunity to elect a solid pro-Trump, America first Republican to the U.S. Senate,
00:20:22.500 and even better, replace Mitt Romney while we are doing it.
00:20:27.820 Troy, I'm going to ask you if you have a final question for the mayor, and then we're going to move along.
00:20:33.000 Troy?
00:20:34.160 Absolutely.
00:20:34.840 So, you know, we've seen so much talked about with this foreign aid package.
00:20:38.240 And just as kind of like a preview for what we would be seeing with Senator Skagg, can you tell us how you would have voted on this most recent foreign aid package that included money to Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine?
00:20:51.500 Yeah, I think they separated it out.
00:20:54.100 I mean, I've been very consistent.
00:20:55.380 I'm a no vote on Ukraine.
00:20:56.860 We've sent over $130 billion there, another $60 billion.
00:20:59.860 Does anybody think it's really going to work?
00:21:01.980 And all we did, you know, I had Charlie Kirk out here the other week.
00:21:06.060 We were campaigning.
00:21:06.920 And all that did is basically give a win to Biden.
00:21:10.240 It delayed what would have caused, I think, him a serious issue right before the election.
00:21:15.080 And so I'm really disappointed that that was voted upon and passed.
00:21:22.080 Also, with things like FISA-702, continuing unwarrantless spying on Americans, I think is absurd.
00:21:31.360 It's a violation of our Fourth Amendment rights and wouldn't be in support of that.
00:21:35.620 I have been very supportive of Israel.
00:21:38.160 I think that we helped create that state post-World War II.
00:21:42.600 We've got some obligations currently.
00:21:44.120 I think there's a 10-year security agreement that's $38 billion.
00:21:47.260 We want to continue to support Israel, ensure that they remain free.
00:21:53.840 I think what President Trump did so successfully with them is to try to normalize relations with other countries and entering into the Abraham Accords.
00:22:03.200 I would love to see an expansion of those types of deals and efforts.
00:22:07.500 And I think doing that will make Israel itself also less dependent on American dollars going forward.
00:22:16.140 But we've got a huge issue.
00:22:19.460 We're $35 trillion in debt.
00:22:21.700 When I announced my candidacy, it was $32 trillion in debt.
00:22:24.080 And all estimates are showing that we could be at $50 trillion in debt by 2030.
00:22:31.160 So that's within the term of the Senate seat that's now being decided.
00:22:34.600 And once we do, that's going to trigger hyperinflation.
00:22:39.400 Asset bases are going to be seriously under fire.
00:22:42.340 For those living on a fixed income in particular, it's going to be hard hit.
00:22:46.420 And so we've got to have people that are serious.
00:22:48.980 That's why I've committed.
00:22:50.060 I wrote a contract with Utah back in October last fall where I said I will not vote for an omnibus spending bill, for example.
00:22:56.860 We can't do it.
00:22:58.120 We've got to get back to process.
00:22:59.740 Senator Lee has called the firm the two leaders in the Senate and in the House.
00:23:06.380 Its leadership gets together.
00:23:07.900 They go in a back room.
00:23:09.020 They cobble together a 1,000-page-plus piece of legislation, put it on the desk of members of Congress, and expect them to pass it.
00:23:15.240 That's not the way we need to do business.
00:23:17.360 We've got to have our budgetary order back to 12 appropriation subcommittees where each one's producing its budget with opportunity for debate and amendment amongst our elected officials.
00:23:27.700 And so until we get back to that process, we're never going to get back to a balanced budget, which we haven't had since 2001.
00:23:35.140 And we need to get back there and stop digging the hole ASAP.
00:23:40.360 All right.
00:23:41.020 We're going to put that graphic up one more time.
00:23:44.120 Trentstags.com.
00:23:45.920 Trentstags.com.
00:23:47.060 Folks, please open your wallets.
00:23:49.640 Go to the website.
00:23:50.740 Make a generous contribution.
00:23:52.840 This is one of the most important U.S. Senate races in the country.
00:23:56.620 President Donald Trump has made his position known.
00:24:00.180 We read you his endorsement today.
00:24:02.680 I'm hopeful that the president will get to Utah to campaign for you, although he's kind of jammed up in New York right now.
00:24:09.340 So thank you, Mayor Trentstags, for joining us today in the Stone Zone.
00:24:14.460 You have an open invitation to come back any time between now and the primary.
00:24:19.260 We want to do everything we possibly can to help you across the finish line.
00:24:23.520 Thank you, Mayor.
00:24:25.480 Thank you, Roger.
00:24:26.340 I appreciate it.
00:24:27.200 You've been a supporter from day one.
00:24:29.220 That early support, like you said, we had no idea we'd be in the situation we are today, but it's early support like yourself that's got us here.
00:24:39.080 So thank you so much.
00:24:40.940 Many thanks.
00:24:42.580 All right, Troy.
00:24:44.080 That guy's headed to the U.S.
00:24:46.420 Again, he has the most valuable thing you could possibly have in the upcoming Republican primary, the strong and full-throated endorsement of Donald Trump.
00:24:57.480 But he's got to have enough money to publicize that, enough money so that people know that he's up against some very wealthy rhino candidates, candidates who are not in any way perceived to be, never mind Trump supporters, not conservatives, never mind Trump supporters.
00:25:17.360 So it's important that folks do support his candidacy.
00:25:21.520 We'll probably have him back on before the primary yet again.
00:25:26.200 Again, developments this morning in the Trump trial in New York City.
00:25:33.220 This is the so-called hush money trial.
00:25:36.980 This is a matter in which the federal investigators, the U.S. attorney, did a full investigation, found no violation of law in these financial transactions by Michael Cohen.
00:25:48.900 The Federal Election Commission also conducted an investigation, found no violation of law.
00:25:54.340 Yet the local Manhattan County District Attorney has created a crime out of thin air when there is no underlying crime.
00:26:05.640 Excellent presentation by the criminal defense attorney, David Schoen, the other evening when he went on Fox that I saw.
00:26:19.520 We may play that for you tomorrow.
00:26:21.580 But what happened this morning?
00:26:24.340 Well, this morning, Roger, we got news that President Trump has been fined $9,000 by Judge Juan Merchan, who we know, you know, we've talked about on this show.
00:26:36.800 Merchan has a daughter that's benefiting from this trial monetarily, pretty disgusting, and has been, has kind of rejected all of the attempts by the Trump team to say, look, there's a conflict of interest here.
00:26:48.820 And now we have action, Roger, we have the headlines we can put up that Trump was fined $9,000 for each instance.
00:26:56.780 Now, this goes a little further.
00:26:58.460 It's being reported that he was, Trump was also warned in the decision to fine him for $9,000, which, by the way, was for apparently nine separate instances of violating his gag order, totaling $1,000 apiece.
00:27:13.200 Merchan also warned Trump in the decision that he would not tolerate further violations of the order and said, if necessary and appropriate, under the circumstances, he would impose an incarceratory punishment on the former president.
00:27:29.440 So, not only is Trump fined $9,000 for violating an illegal gag order, but he's also being threatened with jail time this morning.
00:27:38.240 Roger, your thoughts on that?
00:27:41.160 Deja vu all over again.
00:27:43.460 In my case, the judge made it very clear that if I violated the gag order in my case, which was unconstitutional, that I would be immediately incarcerated.
00:27:53.900 Let's remember, this is the same judge who incarcerated Paul Manafort for almost 18 months prior to his being convicted of anything.
00:28:05.720 So, these are the heavy-handed tactics of the authoritarian left.
00:28:11.180 And I think anyone looking at this trial recognizes that this is a setup, that the deep state and those who are employing a strategy of lawfare against the president realize that their documents case in South Florida is falling apart.
00:28:34.220 The more the more the more the more the more the more she uncovers, the more it looks like a conspiracy to set Trump up.
00:28:44.900 Oh, the GSA and the National Archives sent him a pallet of documents he didn't ask for.
00:28:54.900 And then when it arrived there said, oh, Trump is in possession of these confidential documents, documents that they sent him.
00:29:02.020 It really smells pretty bad.
00:29:04.220 Now, the arguments were made before the Supreme Court regarding immunity.
00:29:12.340 We're going to find out very shortly whether the president has immunity as regards the January 6th charges that have been brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith.
00:29:26.320 I've given up trying to guess what the U.S. Supreme Court is going to do at any given time.
00:29:33.340 We're waiting for our guest, Michael Nixon, who is running for Congress in the 3rd District of Georgia to join us.
00:29:42.360 I'm here with my co-host, Troy Smith from Slingshot.news.
00:29:52.220 Now, folks, two things I want to ask you.

00:30:25.080 I also urge you to go to Slingshot.news and subscribe there.

00:31:10.460 So two opportunities to see the show.
00:31:14.320 We're going to cut to a quick commercial break, and hopefully when we come back, we will have Michael Nixon, candidate for Congress in the 3rd District of Georgia.
00:31:29.200 Sound's rolling. All three cameras. We're good.
00:31:33.240 And you're speaking.
00:31:35.900 Is there any regrets that you have in life?
00:31:39.080 I should sit here and say, yeah, I got a lot of regrets.
00:31:43.800 But when I look back on my life, and I understand the lives that were lost, I mean, I'm sitting here with them.
00:31:54.640 And I can tell my story.
00:31:56.080 Former National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty today for lying to the FBI.
00:32:02.460 He was one of the most respected generals in the military.
00:32:04.720 He was, by definition, the most dangerous possible person for Donald Trump to hire.
00:32:10.440 Only brilliant military career serving 33 miles.
00:32:14.120 Why was he being so abusive?
00:32:15.220 Michael Flynn pulled the truth and faced life in prison.
00:32:17.780 A lot of people are having great success with a weight management program with Bellatrip, but it's just a tool.
00:32:37.840 In terms of ingredients, Chromex or chromium picolini improves the actions of insulin.
00:32:43.780 So you have better glucose management.
00:32:46.140 And in addition, it promotes fat utilization.
00:32:49.420 Fat utilization or fat burning is also a feature of metabolite, which are two botanicals that stimulate a switch called AMP kinase.
00:32:58.700 And so you tend to burn fat, reduce belly fat or visceral fat.
00:33:03.620 Who doesn't want that?
00:33:05.540 Metamylate has the ability to stimulate satiety or reduce those cravings.
00:33:10.400 That's really very, very important.
00:33:12.520 And it does that by raising GLP-1 levels.
00:33:16.240 In addition, we've addressed the microbiome by using prebiotics.
00:33:20.520 Healthier microbiome, better weight management.
00:33:28.700 Welcome back, folks.
00:33:43.120 If you're just tuning in, I'm Roger Stone.
00:33:45.140 And yes, this is The Stone Zone.
00:33:47.600 I'm here with my regular co-host, Troy Smith, the editor-in-chief of Slingshot.news.
00:33:54.600 One of the things we have always tried to do here at The Stone Zone is to showcase young conservative candidates for Congress or the Senate.
00:34:05.600 We don't go with the favorites.
00:34:08.020 We don't go with the front runners.
00:34:10.320 We go with those who we agree with, those who we think would be excellent in the Congress.
00:34:16.120 I personally prefer MAGA candidates, America first Republicans, because frankly, I think our biggest problem in Washington today is not the socialist, Marxist, left-wing Democrats, but the feckless, gutless, weak-kneed, lily-livered establishment Republicans who don't seem to be willing to fight over anything.
00:34:41.120 Whether it is the FISA program, whether it is more billions in funding for Ukraine, whether it is billions in new spending that's passed in the flash of an eye, we need fighters in the lower house.
00:35:01.600 That's why the campaign of Michael Nixon came to my attention.
00:35:05.360 No, it's not just that his name is Nixon, although I do think Nixon's the one.
00:35:11.560 Anyway, Michael Nixon, candidate for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 2nd District of Georgia, joins us now.
00:35:21.860 Thank you, Roger, and I do agree Nixon is the one.
00:35:26.100 There you go.
00:35:27.080 Look, this is very uphill.
00:35:31.640 I've often said that I admire the people who get in the arena, not the people paraphrasing Theodore Roosevelt, paraphrasing Richard Nixon, not the guy who stands on the sidelines and points out how the doer of deeds could have done them better, or points out when the strong man stumbles.
00:35:52.140 But the man who actually gets into the arena and struggles, you know, daringly to achieve the great.
00:36:05.440 I can go get the actual quote.
00:36:07.940 It's actually the beginning of every one of my books.
00:36:10.620 I admire it so much.
00:36:11.860 But what what persuaded you?
00:36:14.360 You're you're not a career politician.
00:36:16.380 You haven't come up to the chairs of politics.
00:36:19.820 What persuaded you to run for Congress?
00:36:23.360 Absolutely.
00:36:24.140 Thank you, Roger, for that question.
00:36:27.340 Now, as you said, I am not a career politician.
00:36:30.120 And so I spent my life early on in the military.
00:36:33.020 I joined the Air Force.
00:36:34.600 I was active duty Air Force and then active duty Navy immediately after that.
00:36:39.400 Between those two terms of enlistment, I did three deployments to the Middle East.
00:36:45.220 While I was there, I saw what dictatorships and what communism did to countries and just kind of left them ravaged.
00:36:51.200 And I thought that the United States of America was 100 years away from that ever happening here at home.
00:36:58.800 And in 2011, I got out of the Navy.
00:37:01.560 I came back to South Georgia to raise my family.
00:37:04.880 And then in the last several years, when when Obama was in office and was dividing the country, it was it was starting that slippery slope of you kind of saw on the horizon a an America that you didn't think would we would ever be stepping into.
00:37:24.100 And then an amazing thing happened.
00:37:26.320 Trump became president.
00:37:27.500 And then the ship aligned, we started heading back to American first values, things started doing so much better overall, even even to the point where I had friends in the military, you know, calling me up saying the military is returning back to its heyday of what it was 20 years ago.
00:37:44.000 And so I did join back in the Air National Guard under the Trump administration, only to be living in that same military now under the Biden administration.
00:37:54.860 And we have started a slippery slope into an America that is no longer holding American values.
00:38:00.100 We have countries that that are laughing at us.
00:38:02.140 It is it is it is embarrassing to show your face on the on the, you know, foreign spectrum representing this country and what it has came to.
00:38:12.700 And so now I have I have three sons that I have raised.
00:38:14.960 My youngest is about to graduate high school and he's about to enter this world that is become so corrupt that we've taken the blindfold off our judicial system.
00:38:26.980 And we're using it to better the powers to be in the administration right now.
00:38:32.720 And it saddens me that we don't have these voices in Congress and in the House that's stepping up and trying to fight for Trump with Trump.
00:38:41.400 And so I believe we need people with the voices of the veterans serving in in the House.
00:38:46.680 And I believe that we need people with an American first mindset and somebody that's going to get in there and rally the troops for Trump.
00:38:53.380 We need to protect our commander in chief and we need to do everything we can to make sure that that he gets back in the Oval Office and support him 100 percent while he's there.
00:39:03.240 And I'm tired of seeing these spineless Republicans and all these spineless politicians that are not doing that and rallying to his side and giving him the aid that he needs and being as vocal as they can, that this is just an abuse of the judicial system.
00:39:18.580 Very, very, very well said, Troy, do you have a question for our guest, Michael Nixon?
00:39:26.300 Absolutely.
00:39:27.160 You know, we see so much going on in Congress and we've even reported on it here at the Stone Zone.
00:39:31.900 There is an effort right now being led by former Speaker Kevin McCarthy to kind of hand the House of Representatives to the Democrats in order to allow them to pass legislation to ban Trump from the ballot.
00:39:45.800 And you spoke to it there, the threat. We're seeing this from the Republican establishment in the House of Representatives.
00:39:51.740 Can you talk about what you would do as a member of the House to try to combat these people that are really undermining the president and therefore really undermining half of the country?
00:40:01.300 I mean, it's unbelievable.
00:40:02.720 Absolutely. And so what they're doing is these rhinos that are in there.
00:40:07.680 They're basically Democrats in sheep's clothing.
00:40:09.840 You have a handful of American first patriots that is fighting for this country in the House.
00:40:15.120 But you need to unify those people and you need to start picking off the weakest link.
00:40:18.980 You need to get these rhinos and start with the weakest one at the totem pole and work your way up.
00:40:23.020 Because once you start actually vocalizing and broadcasting a spotlight on these people that are that are just, you know,
00:40:31.260 so weak-kneed politicians that they shouldn't be there because they're not representing the best interest of the people in this country.
00:40:37.540 Because I will say right now that Trump is the best interest for this country.
00:40:43.320 Nobody can look themselves in the mirror eye to eye and say that they're better off now than they were four years ago under the Trump administration.
00:40:49.640 We have gotten way worse. We've started down a slippery slope into this Biden administration and dealing with Biden economics that is just mind-blowingly sad.
00:40:59.380 And it's taking advantage of every taxpayer.
00:41:01.960 And these politicians are getting complacent in D.C.
00:41:05.060 And they're self-serving.
00:41:07.040 And they don't want to do anything that they can to help the American people, which includes backing Trump.
00:41:12.800 And they're scared that they've been rhinos so long that Trump's going to get their clean house and make their life miserable.
00:41:17.560 And their life should be miserable because they they're they're they're taking up seats and keeping it warm and their butts should be primaried.
00:41:25.020 So, Michael, you have chosen to contend against a longtime Democrat incumbent in a district where I still think there is a more modest Democratic edge, but still a Democratic edge.
00:41:40.660 Experts I know tell me that they believe that under the right circumstances with Trump at the head of the ticket, that this is a winnable district, which was not always the case prior to redistricting.
00:41:55.380 So tell us about the incumbent and tell us about how the district has changed.
00:42:00.260 Absolutely. The incumbent is Sanford Bishop.
00:42:03.820 He's been a lifelong politician.
00:42:05.280 He served in office for 31 years as of right now.
00:42:09.100 And he's planning on just serving as long as he can and doing nothing for the people.
00:42:13.620 And that's one of his shortcomings is because now the let's just look at four years ago, whenever we had Trump in office and everybody's life was doing wonderfully so much better than what they are right now.
00:42:25.340 They were living their dreams.
00:42:26.420 They didn't mind going to the ballot box.
00:42:27.980 They were complacent in their life because things were so good that they didn't mind checking that incumbent, you know, checkmark at the ballot box and getting Sanford Bishop in.
00:42:35.680 And then exit Trump, enter Biden.
00:42:38.940 And now the life is horrible for people in District 2.
00:42:41.380 And District 2 is one of the poorest districts in Georgia.
00:42:45.560 And previously, before the Trump administration came into office and things are, you know, got so better, they lived in that complacency.
00:42:53.360 And then they had a taste of what real economic growth was like.
00:42:57.920 And when you go from something really great to something really horrible, it shakes everybody up.
00:43:02.820 And so now people in the district are having to live under a Biden administration and Biden economics.
00:43:07.880 And they want change.
00:43:09.380 They want Trump back in office.
00:43:11.460 And Sanford Bishop is having to live with all the choices he makes because whatever you do, he votes blue.
00:43:16.560 And so he's having to live with all the policies that has been pushed down.
00:43:19.920 And historically, you're right.
00:43:21.120 This was not a winnable district to unseat this incumbent.
00:43:25.060 But after the redistricting, something amazing happened.
00:43:27.300 We had a county called Thomas County added to the district.
00:43:30.420 It has a population of over 46,000 people.
00:43:33.900 We've had an Air Force base called Robbins Air Force Base added to the district.
00:43:37.920 And we've had the town right outside that called Warner Robbins added to the district.
00:43:41.920 That shifted the demographics for the first time in the history.
00:43:45.060 We have less than 50 percent African-American population in the district.
00:43:49.460 And so it shifted the Democrat control of the district as well.
00:43:53.040 You have a lot more GOP voters in the district than you've ever had before.
00:43:59.200 Excellent point.
00:44:00.640 Troy, another question for Michael Nixon.
00:44:04.440 Absolutely.
00:44:05.120 So, you know, Michael, one of the things that I noticed and I've been watching this pretty closely is that the people of this country,
00:44:10.800 you know, they're starting to feel the fire of Washington, D.C.
00:44:14.440 And they're starting to in their everyday life now.
00:44:16.980 They have to actually make consequential choices because of what's going on in D.C.
00:44:21.840 Can you tell us what you'd be doing as a member of the House of Representatives to make those those tough choices go away and make things a little bit easier for the people of Georgia?
00:44:30.740 Absolutely.
00:44:31.500 And let's start off.
00:44:33.280 We need to actually take things at the federal level and downsize it and bring it back to the state as much as possible.
00:44:38.960 So that goes along with education, get education from the federal government, localize it as much as possible, make school vouchers and school choice more of a thing.
00:44:47.900 You have the public education that's feeding our kids DEI and all this nonsense.
00:44:53.420 Transparency is no longer in our public education system, which is a shame and a sham.
00:44:59.700 And another thing is something that's very important to this district is agriculture.
00:45:03.800 And so you got to you got to cut through the bureaucratic red tape and help the farmers of Georgia.
00:45:09.420 And that also includes making sure China is not buying up farmland because they are going through the country and securing as much farmland as they can and shutting out some of these farming communities to utilize that land.
00:45:21.660 And our country and our congressmen are letting them do it and run away with it.
00:45:25.400 And that should be stopped.
00:45:26.460 We also have to secure the border because recently, and everybody knows this, we've had deaths here in the state of Georgia that would not have ever happened if we had a secure border.
00:45:36.240 We have the border wide open.
00:45:37.720 People are coming in willy nilly, 24-7, and it's not being handled.
00:45:42.460 It's not being stopped.
00:45:43.500 And we have to stop it to add protection and security back into the citizens of Georgia and the citizens in every one of the 50 states because this is just a monumental issue that the Biden administration and Sanford Bishop has not voted on border security since he's been in office.
00:46:02.600 And he's just allowing it to pour into this district nonstop.
00:46:05.940 And we have to plug that up and stop that and build that wall.
00:46:10.120 So let me ask you this before we put up a graphic to tell people how they can give to your campaign because, well, folks, running for Congress is extraordinarily expensive.
00:46:22.280 No matter where you are running, the cost of postage has gone up.
00:46:27.680 So even if your campaign is based entirely in mailings to voters or the cost of radio, the cost of cable TV, the cost of even text messaging voters, which has new regulations governing it, the cost of blast emails, all of these things cost money.
00:46:51.100 But before we get to that, Michael, expand for us a little bit on your military service.
00:46:58.340 Absolutely.
00:46:59.260 I served active duty Air Force immediately after high school, and then I went from the Air Force into the Navy.
00:47:05.720 The Navy, I served on the USS Harrius Truman, in my personal opinion, one of the best aircraft carriers ever made.
00:47:12.620 I loved my entire time on there serving with those men and women.
00:47:16.460 During my time in active duty, I did three deployments to the Middle East.
00:47:20.020 I've been in the majority of countries that end in Stan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.
00:47:26.940 I worked briefly out of the embassy in Kashkant, Uzbekistan, and I deployed twice to the Gulf while in the Navy.
00:47:35.980 And so I've been there.
00:47:37.060 I've done that.
00:47:37.680 I've been on the front lines and saw the men and women that make the largest sacrifice for our nation.
00:47:42.680 And then to have them come back home and treated the way they are in the health care system that we have for our veterans is embarrassing and shameful.
00:47:51.540 It was going in such a great, great direction under the Trump administration.
00:47:56.560 Health care reform for the VA was on an upward climb.
00:48:00.000 It was making monumental improvements just to kind of fall off the cliff whenever we exited Trump and got the puppet in the Oval Office that we currently have.
00:48:10.140 Things have been ignored, and we need better for our veterans.
00:48:14.660 And somebody that has been there and wore the uniform and deployed with those people and stood elbow to elbow, shoulder to shoulder with them,
00:48:21.380 And I believe that I can represent them and be the voice that they need in D.C.
00:48:26.800 All right, folks, we're going to put up the graphic for you where you can contribute to Michael Nixon's campaign.
00:48:33.580 There you see it, Nixon for Georgia, nixonforgeorgia.com.
00:48:38.860 Please go to the website, make a generous contribution.
00:48:42.360 You can also contact the candidate there.
00:48:44.880 Michael Nixon, thank you so much for joining us today on The Stone Zone.
00:48:50.160 Thank you, Roger.
00:48:51.380 Thank you, Troy.
00:48:52.000 God bless.
00:48:53.700 All right, folks, that was Michael Nixon.
00:48:55.940 We're going to go to a quick commercial break, and then we're going to come back with a political roundup.
00:49:01.560 So just a word from our corporate sponsors.
00:49:04.500 Please don't go away.
00:49:05.900 Take a look at this.
00:49:12.800 The markets are getting crazy, and now is the time to protect yourself from economic turmoil.
00:49:18.800 Silver is in the headlines right now and creating lots of excitement as the price of silver is extremely attractive compared to gold.
00:49:26.640 A call to Swiss America gets you the scoop on whether the silver opportunity is for real.
00:49:31.580 What you'll discover will really blow your mind.
00:49:34.080 Today, silver faces a huge shortage due to the rising demand by military, solar, electric cars, and computers, all of which depend on silver.
00:49:43.840 But right now, silver is priced to sell according to worldwide experts.
00:49:47.800 Now, to help you get started, Swiss America is offering beautiful United States Walking Liberty half dollars, issued by the U.S. Mint from 1916 to 1947, and minted in 90% pure silver for a special introductory price.

00:50:06.140 So call the number on your screen or visit SwissAmerica.com, because now is the time to rediscover silver.
00:50:13.320 We've learned through the pandemic we can never be caught unprepared again.
00:50:17.980 And so many Americans, when COVID hit, they had nothing in the house.
00:50:21.700 Stores were shut down, and doctors' offices were shut down.
00:50:25.500 And even if doctors prescribed drugs, hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, pharmacists wouldn't fill the prescriptions.
00:50:32.760 That was a nightmare.
00:50:34.200 Now the situation is much worse.
00:50:36.300 We have these horrible supply chain problems.
00:50:39.480 In our emergency medical kit at the wellness company, we have eight prescription drugs that are all potentially life-saving.
00:50:49.700 Most people have died with COVID.
00:50:51.140 They died in the hospital because they didn't receive early treatment.
00:50:54.060 Every American family should have one of these.
00:51:05.080 I can tell you the wellness company kit is the answer.
00:51:24.060 Welcome back, folks.
00:51:26.640 If you're just tuning in, I'm Roger Stone, and I'm here with my co-host, Troy Smith of Slingshot.news.
00:51:34.240 Troy, we have just a few minutes left here.
00:51:36.540 But one of the things that continues to mildly aggravate me are the folks on social media who say that Roger Stone and his wife evaded millions of dollars of income taxes.
00:51:47.080 But if they're being treated differently than Hunter Biden, why aren't the stones being prosecuted?
00:51:53.460 In point of fact, we have never failed to report any income or asset accurately to the IRS.
00:52:03.000 Our simple problem is we are unable to pay.
00:52:06.400 That's not tax evasion.
00:52:09.200 We've filed everything correctly and honestly, and a federal judge actually agreed with us.
00:52:17.220 You covered it for Slingshot.news.
00:52:19.960 Tell us about this very quickly.
00:52:21.720 Well, Roger, I mean, it's just very evident by the way the judge scolded Hunter Biden's legal team and Kevin Morris, who's his lawyer here.
00:52:30.980 They attempted to dismiss the charges on Hunter Biden, which, you know, this is a guy, he's basically been charged with not paying taxes and failing to report millions of dollars in income, which was never, ever the case for you, as you stated right there.
00:52:45.380 And on the basis of your own case, Hunter Biden and his lawyers attempted to make the case to this judge in the Hunter Biden tax case that you received preferential treatment and that because of that, you that Hunter Biden's charges should be dismissed.
00:53:02.000 The judge laughed that out of the courtroom, along with several other motions they made to dismiss these tax charges.
00:53:08.720 And overall, Roger, the situation, as he pointed out there in the headline and was was pointed out in the context of what he said, it was apples and oranges.
00:53:18.640 What Roger Stone did by by this own judge's admission and by the admission of our legal system is not tax evasion, has nothing to do in no relation to Hunter Biden or what he's been accused of.
00:53:29.580 And yet the left politically, they use this to say, oh, well, Roger Stone did it.
00:53:34.320 Well, Hunter Biden did as well.
00:53:35.340 No, they're apples and oranges.
00:53:37.000 They have nothing to do with each other.
00:53:38.360 And truth be told, if I were you, I would be looking at these people, especially in the mainstream media, who accuse you of tax evasion as as primary recipients, maybe of a lawsuit, because they are lying.
00:53:48.740 And I think they're knowingly lying.
00:53:51.340 Well, this is really very simple.
00:53:53.820 I'm not getting any kind of special deal.
00:53:55.940 Normally, when any taxpayer enters into good faith, offering compromise negotiations with the IRS, they can get some decrease in the interest and penalty on past due taxes.
00:54:10.760 The IRS has been unwilling to negotiate that with me.
00:54:13.980 Therefore, I will pay $2 million to the IRS, only one quarter of which are actually past due taxes and all of the rest of which is interest and penalty.
00:54:25.960 So, special deal, special treatment, preferential treatment?
00:54:31.460 No, not at all.
00:54:33.680 These are not analogous situations.
00:54:36.700 But I appreciate your bringing it up.
00:54:39.260 All right.
00:54:39.660 We are out of time.
00:54:41.540 I do want to remind you that we continue to be sponsored by the great folks at MyPillow.com.
00:54:50.260 I was with Mike Lindell this past Thursday night at a great event for our mutual friend, Mark Fincham, who's running for the state Senate in Arizona.
