00:00:00.180 Did you know that St. Luke's University Health Network, based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania,
00:00:05.700 has been recognized by the U.S. government as the highest performing health system in the United States for quality?
00:00:12.160 You heard right.
00:00:13.340 St. Luke's number one recognition affirms our status as the top leader among the most respected health care providers in the nation,
00:00:20.420 including Houston Methodist and the Mayo Clinic.
00:00:23.140 To state it simply, if you want to receive the best care when you go to a hospital, come to St. Luke's.
00:00:31.000 The Stone Zone, entertaining and informative on the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:00:37.620 And I'm Jake Novak in for Roger Stone this evening.
00:00:40.060 However, around 830 Eastern time, Roger Stone will be joining us by phone.
00:00:45.080 So if you tuned in for Roger, please stay with us.
00:00:48.280 You know, we're in the midst now of this major U.S.-China summit.
00:00:52.660 President Trump arriving our time this morning.
00:00:55.160 Obviously, that's evening in China, and it is already Thursday in China, of course, because they're, I think, 14 hours ahead of us, something like that, 12, 14 hours ahead.
00:01:05.820 And we're going to be watching this very closely.
00:01:08.040 You know, as someone who was born in 1970, it's amazing to me how it feels like the way people understand and look at summits like this has been devalued.
00:01:20.160 As a kid, the U.S.-USSR summits, whether it was Nixon and Brezhnev, Carter and Brezhnev, Ford met with Brezhnev once, and then, of course, Reagan and his meetings mostly with Gorbachev.
00:01:34.480 I mean, everything stopped.
00:01:36.500 The countdown was in place days before.
00:01:39.660 The nightly news programs absolutely focused on every little thing because it really did feel like the fate of the world was in the balance every time there was a summit like this.
00:01:49.320 And I don't see why this is any less different, any different. 0.83
00:01:52.580 You could really argue in a lot of ways that China is a much more formidable opponent to freedom in the world and good things in the world than the USSR ever was.
00:02:05.080 Because as military, as much military power as the Soviet Union had, as many client states as it had, it had states that were under its control completely.
00:02:13.720 China has a similar amount of military power these days
00:02:17.780 But more importantly it has massive economic power
00:02:20.580 And while it may not have a Warsaw bloc
00:02:23.860 Or a bunch of countries who are literally openly pledged
00:02:26.560 To the Soviet Union or to China itself in this case
00:02:30.060 China has so many spheres of influence
00:02:34.800 And so many people and nations and entities
00:02:37.460 Beholden to them
00:02:39.540 and we're finding that out on the eve of the summit you know i got to talk about this
00:02:45.220 and i know the people i'm looking at marco rubio speaking on air force one a little earlier today
00:02:50.740 everyone's trying in this administration is trying to talk a conciliatory game we want to
00:02:56.800 work with the chinese we want to be that we don't want to be enemies with them and
00:03:00.020 i understand why that's what you want to say but china has been at active war with the united
00:03:08.020 States for quite some time, and a big part of that war is espionage, blackmail, and the buying
00:03:14.640 and selling of our politicians. Just in the last few days, we've started to peel back what I think
00:03:21.680 is a very, very large curtain. I mean, it's like I'm grabbing a remote control right here,
00:03:27.960 you know, like those remote control powered curtains, and I just press the button to open
00:03:34.260 that curtain and it's opening up slowly, but you can tell there's a big reveal, a really big reveal
00:03:40.140 behind that curtain, a really big one. And what's behind that curtain is we're just starting to get
00:03:47.600 a glimpse of it. So we had the mayor of Arcadia, which is a suburb of Los Angeles, wealthy suburb,
00:03:53.440 Eileen Wong resigning and admitting she was an agent for China. She was doing their bidding. 0.97
00:03:59.040 This isn't a case of someone getting campaign donations through ActBlue and some other money
00:04:03.720 laundering organization, and it's a scandal that they received foreign donations to their
00:04:07.560 political campaign, which you're not allowed to do in this country, but boy, is it easy to get
00:04:10.720 around that. No, this is someone who's saying that she was doing China's bidding, and it doesn't end
00:04:17.420 with her. She was friends with Congresswoman Judy Chu, and Judy Chu has many ties to the Chinese
00:04:29.040 communist regime and she has ties she was friends with fang fang who had that affair with eric
00:04:35.520 swalwell and if eric swalwell isn't compromised by china whether it's by blackmail or money i'd be
00:04:40.880 shocked and then we have this it doesn't it's not just politicians we've just learned in the last
00:04:47.500 few days that the owner of the milwaukee bucks billionaire wesley edens is in a blackmail
00:04:54.580 situation with the chinese woman they were both divorced but i guess she had videos and other
00:05:01.720 incriminating or i should say embarrassing information about this guy she tried to
00:05:05.780 blackmail him for a billion dollars she's been charged now but she was bailed out and it was a
00:05:12.120 hefty bail and guess who bailed her out agents of the chinese government the chinese government's 0.87
00:05:21.100 tentacles are all over this country they're all over the rest of the world so they may not have 0.89
00:05:26.880 a like you know going back to the soviet era they may not have a poland or a czechoslovakia or all
00:05:33.840 those other countries that used to be in the warsaw pact and there were countries in south
00:05:37.480 america like cuba who were openly part of a russia a soviet military alliance and political alliance
00:05:43.980 it may not be like that like we haven't really we don't have a name like the warsaw pact or
00:05:48.500 something like that but they have countries that are beholden to them they have politicians that
00:05:53.640 beholden to them and i think it answers a lot of the questions that i think a lot of sane americans
00:05:59.700 must be having haven't we all been asking this question in america for the last couple of years
00:06:06.180 we know about trump derangement syndrome and we know it makes people hate like all things 0.98
00:06:11.680 hatred makes people stupid so we know that a lot of policies of the democrats and other opponents 0.99
00:06:18.080 of president trump including some former republicans or people who used to be aligned 1.00
00:06:21.240 with the republican party we know that their hatred of him has pushed them off the deep end
00:06:25.540 but that's only a small group of people that we can talk about as far as their policy positions
00:06:30.220 are concerned there's so many other policies that are clearly detrimental not just to the
00:06:36.180 united states as an entity but any civil society that a growing number of our politicians seem to
00:06:43.060 be endorsing much to their own personal detriment what do you gain as a politician if you support
00:06:49.200 cashless bail letting people out on the streets even after they've committed multiple crimes and
00:06:54.180 we see every single day in america it's rare now where we hear about a murder that wasn't committed
00:06:58.920 by someone who has multiple arrests already a lot of hardly i haven't heard of a first-time
00:07:03.520 offender murder in quite some time not a not a really violent public one
00:07:08.380 what possible political gain do you get from saying, 0.98
00:07:13.100 I want to put boys in girls' locker rooms? 0.99
00:07:15.860 Are you going to get a big windfall there at the ballot box? 0.99
00:07:20.260 And when you see the extent of the Chinese influence,
00:07:23.140 their financial influence,
00:07:24.220 and again, this isn't just about campaign donations.
00:07:26.900 This is actual good old-fashioned payola.
00:07:30.680 We'll give you this money and you support this policy,
00:07:34.400 which not only helps China,
00:07:36.060 But remember, it's not just policies that will help China.
00:07:38.500 So it's not going to be people who are going to, for example, vote against a tariff if it ever gets into the hands of Congress, God forbid.
00:07:45.480 Not just people who are going to vote against a military buildup to support Taiwan.
00:07:51.340 But it's also going to be people who are doing China's bidding to undermine this country on its own, whether it has anything to do with China directly or not.
00:08:00.160 so they're going to support 0.57
00:08:02.760 DAs who are going to let criminals out on the streets
00:08:05.220 because that will 0.58
00:08:05.920 the destruction of law and order
00:08:07.960 creates so many other problems
00:08:10.240 besides just violence on the streets
00:08:12.180 of course it destroys the economy
00:08:14.220 it leads to
00:08:16.220 anti-Semitism and bigotry in spades
00:08:18.720 it does all those things
00:08:22.820 it doesn't get anybody elected
00:08:25.600 no one's going to say
00:08:26.060 I can't wait to vote for the
00:08:27.280 we've already had some of these lenient DAs
00:08:30.060 like the one in L.A., lose their elections because of this.
00:08:33.340 But if they're on the take, either on the take or they're compromised by China,
00:08:37.260 then they're going to support these ruinous policies. 0.66
00:08:40.440 I grew up in an era in this country, partially in New York.
00:08:44.080 I came to New York around high school time,
00:08:46.020 where not only were both parties trying to eradicate crime,
00:08:51.740 but by the late 1970s, early 80s,
00:08:54.280 they were trying to outdo each other on how great they were against crime.
00:08:57.820 It was not just a bipartisan issue.
00:09:00.060 They were trying to beat each other and prove that they were they were better for stopping crime.
00:09:04.500 Now you have people talking about like, well, it depends on who the perpetrator is and who the victim is that then we'll care.
00:09:11.220 This is political suicide. And the only way that you survive this kind of political suicide is if you cheat on the elections, which we know is happening in large numbers.
00:09:22.820 Or you don't care. You'll you'll get your you'll be one and done. You'll do one term, maybe to take your money and go.
00:09:28.060 And we've seen this throughout history
00:09:30.780 If you think that a mayor of Arcadia
00:09:34.760 Or some random congresspeople
00:09:36.220 Like Judy Chu and Eric Swalwell
00:09:38.060 And a few people here and there
00:09:39.760 Or a billionaire who owns the Milwaukee Bucks 0.79
00:09:41.740 Is the extent of Chinese buying and selling
00:09:44.560 Of prominent Americans elected and not elected 0.99
00:09:46.700 You're crazy 0.99
00:09:47.780 They've got their hooks into a lot of people 0.99
00:09:50.820 And it does explain, doesn't it?
00:09:52.880 Some of these crazy policies
00:09:54.660 at first i thought this is just incredible trump derain syndrome anything trump says if he says two
00:10:01.780 plus two is four they'll say it's five if he says don't cut off your hand they'll cut off their
00:10:05.840 hands and they'll be insane and some of those people who go out to some of these protests and
00:10:09.580 marches and scream uh are the people who a few years ago were swallowing the tide pods remember
00:10:14.700 them so i i guess some of that is from that and i still think that is part of it but that doesn't
00:10:20.880 explain it. What does explain it is that we have the enemies of this country now who have tremendous
00:10:26.420 influence over a good number of our elected leaders. I think the DNC is completely compromised
00:10:31.720 and bought and sold by the Chinese Communist Party. And there's a good number of Republicans 0.99
00:10:36.860 who are too, just not a significant number. Any number would be unacceptable. They haven't been
00:10:45.440 able to buy and sell the RNC, but at one point they were close because in the pre-Trump era of
00:10:50.740 the Republican establishment in this country when it was basically a chamber of commerce operation,
00:10:56.020 China was close to getting that kind of influence. There are still China doves out there, China
00:11:02.100 supporters out there who just who used to be real Republican cheerleaders, especially for President
00:11:07.100 Bush, both of them, but especially George W. Bush, who now are the biggest opponents of Trump out on
00:11:12.580 the social media on LinkedIn. I see all of them. I used to book them on my Fox business shows and
00:11:17.360 on my cnbc shows republican guys who are all about business and all and they hate trump because 0.97
00:11:23.020 china owns them and these are the same people who used to always say like well let's let china into
00:11:29.340 the into the world's organizations because that we will influence them our freedom and our 0.96
00:11:35.700 apparent our philosophies and our way of life will open up china they'll see how we live and if we 1.00
00:11:41.820 don't let them in the club they're just going to remain this backwater and repress their people 0.99
00:11:45.960 the opposite has happened it sure as heck looks like a lot of americans especially politicians 0.99
00:11:51.640 have looked at china and especially leftist agitators have looked at china and said i like
00:11:55.940 that i'd like to do that too we don't want freedom instead of the united states lifting the cause of
00:12:04.400 freedom in china china has lifted the cause of repression in america and anyone who doesn't see
00:12:10.800 that, I feel sorry for you. Or to be even more blunt, you're really not aware enough to play
00:12:17.480 this game with me and the rest of us who are. The rest of us who are. All right, we're about 12
00:12:23.060 minutes away from hearing from Roger Stone himself here on The Stone Zone. I'm Jake Novak,
00:12:27.300 filling in for him. I want to talk about another major theme spreading throughout America when we
00:12:32.040 come back. It's fraud. And Vice President Vance looks like he's going to become kind of a fraud
00:12:36.920 czar, if not in name, but he's certainly going to do it. We'll be right back with that.
00:12:40.800 This is The Stone Zone with Roger Stone.
00:12:44.620 He likes politics and he's a professional at the highest level.
00:12:49.380 Roger Stone. Where's Roger?

00:13:46.920 Actor Stanley Tucci, who returned for the second film, telling The Today Show, the original movie has had a lasting impact.
00:13:54.700 Arguably, it has become a classic film, and it endures.
00:13:58.600 I'm James Flippin, and this is the World Wide News Network.
00:14:03.740 Listen to this podcast now on the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:14:10.100 The Leadership Thread with Dr. Peggy Polonis.
00:14:13.340 Janice Crampton.
00:14:14.460 Where does the we come from?
00:14:15.900 The we?
00:14:16.360 We.
00:14:16.900 Together.
00:14:17.540 We're doing this together.
00:14:18.900 I think it's more fun.
00:14:20.200 There's a social element to the we.
00:14:22.180 I also think that if you turn back to things such as Clifton StrengthsFinder,
00:14:27.280 the team is better when you don't have a lot of the same people.

00:14:44.960 Entertaining and informative.
00:14:46.940 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:14:51.400 And I'm Jake Novak filling in for Roger Stone.
00:14:53.540 But Roger will be calling us in about seven, eight minutes,
00:14:55.940 and we'll be talking about the China Summit with him.
00:14:58.020 Just letting you know, we are following it very closely.
00:15:00.360 The US-China summit, the two most powerful nations on earth
00:15:04.880 The leaders of those two countries meeting in Beijing right now
00:15:07.920 And it isn't just the political leaders
00:15:10.300 President Trump bringing along with him
00:15:12.020 Elon Musk, Jensen Wang, the CEO of NVIDIA
00:15:16.800 Which is now the most valuable company in the world
00:15:19.160 Tim Cook of Apple
00:15:20.700 Kelly Overton, the CEO of Boeing
00:15:23.780 I mean, you know, this is a meeting of very, very powerful people right now
00:15:27.700 And we're watching very closely
00:15:29.420 Will there be an announcement on tariffs? Will there be an announcement on Taiwan and military things like that?
00:15:34.400 Will there be, although the United States just approved some more sales to Taiwan before the summit?
00:15:39.200 Will we hear some kind of agreement on the Iran war, even though President Trump said it wasn't on the top of the agenda?
00:15:45.260 A lot in the balance here, and we should be paying as much attention to these summits as we did back in the 70s and 80s when we had U.S.-Soviet Union summits.
00:15:53.720 Absolutely. That's because the mainstream news media, and they're covering it, but they're not making, believe me,
00:15:58.220 If you're if you're not of a certain age, I'm 55. If you're not around 49 to 60 and older, you don't really remember how big it was.
00:16:07.260 These these summits with the U.S.
00:16:09.060 And I think we should make them as big as they as they were then. I really do.
00:16:13.180 Other stories going on right now. Speaking of the Iran war, there has been a big proliferation of those little attack boats.
00:16:21.060 the iranians use to harass traffic in the strait and traffic whatever traffic there was going
00:16:26.240 through the strait of hormuz is now much deteriorated although the markets are not
00:16:30.620 upset too much about this oil closed uh quite a bit lower at least on a percentage basis than
00:16:37.220 where it uh it was looking to open this morning we're at the 101 a barrel level right now
00:16:41.900 we got over 102 i think at the open this morning so you know not a huge freak out and
00:16:48.960 stocks closed higher s&p 500 nasdaq closing highs again the dow was down for the day but as we look
00:16:57.700 at stock futures all the stock futures are higher right now especially the nasdaq so honestly not a
00:17:03.120 lot of freaking out there a couple of other stories you should know about uh really quickly
00:17:08.240 uh laura loomer is reporting and she's usually right about the stuff that she was reporting she's
00:17:14.600 reporting that Governor Kathy Hochul of New York
00:17:16.580 is thinking about not having
00:17:18.540 the, blocking the NYPD
00:17:20.200 from protecting the crowd
00:17:22.520 at the annual Salute to Israel
00:17:24.420 parade in New York.
00:17:26.920 Basically opening the door for
00:17:28.800 radical, riotous
00:17:30.540 anti-Israel and anti-Semitic 0.98
00:17:32.300 group, same thing, attackers
00:17:34.500 to hit this event, which
00:17:36.440 gets usually a couple hundred thousand people.
00:17:38.380 It's usually a peaceful event, it's always peaceful.
00:17:40.820 So we'll see if that's true,
00:17:42.400 if this is true. There's no statement
00:17:44.200 from the governor yet but that would be a big one and then we have this issue of fraud every single
00:17:49.900 day now the trump administration is trotting out another fraud fraudulent operation that they've
00:17:54.220 shut down maybe they should have done this in the beginning instead of doge and i like the work that
00:17:59.320 doge did but doge shut down agencies that they felt sure a lot of them were engaged in fraud like
00:18:04.160 the usa id but you know they basically were looking at at waste or or duplicities redundancies as they
00:18:12.860 say in the corporate world and that was great but maybe they should have started with these crazy
00:18:16.640 fraud things because jd vance our vice president announcing today that there's been this massive
00:18:21.620 number of supposedly medicaid affiliated health care providers in california they've shut down
00:18:27.880 and none of them seem to have actually been doing anything about health care listen to him as he
00:18:32.440 interacts with dr oz so dr oz i want to make sure i understand this well so you're saying that
00:18:37.100 we kicked off 800 fraudulent health care providers off of the medicare system and not a single one
00:18:42.300 of them called the government and said hey you made a mistake we've had a handful of calls we're
00:18:46.240 not sure they're legitimate yet but it's less than 20 out of 800 and we're auditing them unbelievable
00:18:51.800 so so at least 780 are not even trying to claim that they're not fraudulent and again those are
00:18:58.980 businesses that we were giving hundreds of millions in some cases billions of dollars to
00:19:03.060 not to provide services but to make a fraudster rich it's just completely insane drives you know
00:19:08.800 why these government entities are so easy to defraud? Because it's not their money. It's not
00:19:15.220 their money, it's your money, and they don't care. And then if someone really games the system,
00:19:19.060 like an enemy of the United States or people from those countries, they can really go to town.
00:19:23.700 The story is just beginning. All right, when we come back, hopefully Roger Stone will be
00:19:26.720 joining us on the phone. We'll be talking more about this summit. You should be paying attention
00:19:30.680 to it the stone zone on the red apple podcast network
00:19:43.160 the stone zone entertaining and informative on the red apple podcast network
00:19:51.500 and i'm jake novak in for roger stone but roger stone's on the phone and roger thank you so much
00:19:59.100 for joining us on your show and thank you for lending me the mic uh again and i want to ask you
00:20:03.840 what are you looking for here i mean we're watching very carefully for any developments
00:20:08.080 out of this summit but i i think there are so many major issues here these are the two most
00:20:11.680 powerful nations in the world and and uh i mean you got to think something big is going to come
00:20:15.860 out of this meeting well i wouldn't want to be sitting across the negotiating table from
00:20:20.360 donald j trump the master of the deal uh what's different here of course is that trump goes into
00:20:27.000 these talks with the Chinese in a very strong position, very much unlike Joe Biden.
00:20:34.480 He's rebuilt our military strength, and they know it.
00:20:37.240 We've demonstrated it in Iran, and we've demonstrated it in Venezuela in terms of the
00:20:44.420 stealth and the strength of our military, and that we've cut off China's access to cheap
00:20:50.120 oil.
00:20:50.620 It's a giant problem for them.
00:20:52.660 It's not that they don't have access to oil, but they don't have access to cheap oil, and therefore they're at a disadvantage.
00:21:00.920 Military experts I speak to say that the Chinese military is not war ready at this point, and therefore, although they might have moved on Taiwan if Joe Biden were still president, I don't see any circumstance under which they run on Taiwan now.
00:21:17.960 And I think this is important. We're catching up with them in terms of their cornering the market on rare earth minerals.
00:21:26.920 I don't think people realize this, but things like titanium and lithium and other key elements that you need to make batteries or magnets.
00:21:35.580 Your car has 12 different magnets in it, for example.
00:21:39.300 The Chinese have been buying up access to these in Central America, in South America, across Asia, across Europe. 1.00
00:21:46.660 And now we are finally competing with them. This is a major initiative for President Trump.
00:21:52.760 You know, Roger, at the top of this program, I talked about as this summit unfolds, we're starting to pull back the curtain with a little remote control or our hands to see the extent of the Chinese hooks that are in our elected leaders and prominent people. 0.90
00:22:09.740 We just had this mayor of Arcadia resign because she was admitted. 0.84
00:22:13.900 She admits that she's a foreign agent working for the Chinese.
00:22:17.300 Turns out she's friends with Judy Chu, who was friends with Fang Fang.
00:22:21.300 The woman blackmailing Wesley Edens, the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, gets bailed out by the Chinese government.
00:22:29.000 I mean, Roger, I think that we have a significant number. 0.63
00:22:32.120 If you think it's that's the end of the list, of course, you know, people got to be crazy. 0.91
00:22:35.260 I think there's a significant number of elected leaders and prominent people in this country, let alone the rest of the world, who are beholden to China.
00:22:42.740 And that's not even a conspiracy theory.
00:22:44.580 These people are pleading guilty to it.
00:22:47.460 No, in fact, they hope to take over America without ever firing a shot.
00:22:51.960 I mean, Jake, you're absolutely right.
00:22:53.180 They have systematically been buying up some of the most prime ranch land, farmland.
00:22:59.160 But it's not just that.
00:23:00.460 They're buying up harbors.
00:23:02.320 They're buying up airports.
00:23:03.680 they're buying up toll roads they're opening buying up toll plazas i mean they are deeply
00:23:09.640 invested in american real estate by the way in canada you can't buy land unless you are a native 0.98
00:23:16.000 canadian but here in the united states while we have talked about prohibiting chinese nationals
00:23:21.680 or people who are fronting for chinese nationals we've never really done it it's it is one of the 0.99
00:23:27.920 greatest scandals in the country but it's not just real estate they've also infiltrated all
00:23:33.900 strata of american society whether it's big business whether it's academia let's remember
00:23:38.860 how much they were paying joe biden at the university of pennsylvania they had him on the 0.98
00:23:43.000 pad for about a million bucks so yes i think chinese infiltration into our country is a very 0.92
00:23:48.960 serious serious problem but now finally we have an acting attorney general uh and a and a department 0.99
00:23:56.640 of Justice and an FBI director who are serious about rooting this out and that is beginning to
00:24:02.780 happen. You know, listen, you're a political analyst and you know what messages sell and
00:24:09.120 what messages just fall flat. And you know what messages are political suicide. I'm starting to
00:24:14.960 believe, and I actually started to believe this a long time ago, that some of these ruinous policies,
00:24:20.120 whether it's like cashless bail, whether it's boys and girls locker rooms, I think this also 0.99
00:24:25.340 may be a part of a chinese influence operation they're not just getting buying and selling 0.62
00:24:29.540 these members of congress or da's or local politicians to help them stop a a defense
00:24:35.000 deal for taiwan or some kind of tariff thing they also want to destroy us from within i mean there's
00:24:40.300 nobody who you're a political strategist what person can really expect to be elected or re-elected
00:24:45.580 on some of these crazy policies unless they're being paid to commit this political suicide
00:24:50.320 well not only that but i look at it in the reverse and i've tested this very extensively
00:24:54.960 in polling. The idea of barring Chinese nationals or, and this is important, anyone fronting for 1.00
00:25:03.840 them from purchasing real estate, farmland, ranch land, any real estate at all in the United States, 0.96
00:25:10.040 80% of American voters are more likely to vote for a candidate who's in favor of such a prohibition.
00:25:16.360 But we talk about it, we don't do it. In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis signed such a bill
00:25:22.020 with great fanfare until you read the small print and what it actually says is the chinese are
00:25:29.180 prohibited from buying land in florida if it is contiguous to a national security site
00:25:36.220 what does that mean i mean the national security site is not defined any place else in florida
00:25:42.760 state law so are you saying if it's next to an army base or if it's next to a military facility
00:25:48.440 they can't buy it i'm i favor an across-the-board prohibition if you if you can't buy land in
00:25:55.180 canada unless you're a canadian you shouldn't be able to buy land in the united states unless
00:25:59.880 you're an american or an american company yeah i mean at least temporarily you know i mean i i
00:26:05.160 don't i mean can we see what happens after a couple years and see what and learn from that
00:26:08.820 i mean honestly i i think that that makes the most sense because again uh what we don't think
00:26:13.660 is sensitive now, might turn out to be sensitive later as far as an area of concern. Roger, you're
00:26:19.100 a great expert on President Richard Nixon, and you can't talk about a U.S.-China summit without
00:26:24.080 harking back to his great triumph in 1972, meeting with Mao Zedong and opening up that
00:26:29.820 third avenue for us to really undermine the Soviet Union and find another way. Roger, is there
00:26:36.120 a partner the United States could go to now to help weaken China's influence like we did
00:26:42.440 to the Soviet Union with China?
00:26:44.020 I don't see it, but maybe you do.
00:26:47.000 Well, first of all, a lot of people will say to me,
00:26:49.680 well, our problem with China today
00:26:51.260 is all due to Richard Nixon.
00:26:52.920 Let's recognize that when Nixon
00:26:54.660 normalized relationships with China, 1.00
00:26:57.700 China was a dirt poor agrarian society 0.94
00:27:00.220 where most people didn't even have indoor plumbing.
00:27:03.240 The rural areas had no electricity.
00:27:05.520 Their military was a joke.
00:27:07.760 They had no military capability.
00:27:09.460 They had no technological capability.
00:27:11.240 It's not until President Bill Clinton gives the most favored nation trading status, which supercharges their economy and makes them the menace to the country we are today. 0.95
00:27:22.380 So at the time that Nixon recognized China, it was very skillful. 0.92
00:27:26.520 He was trying to get his strategic arms limitation agreement from the Soviets.
00:27:30.480 The Soviets were starting to go cold on him.
00:27:32.880 So he said, OK, you don't want to deal.
00:27:34.560 I'll just I think I'll go over and see Chairman Mao and see how he's doing.
00:27:38.120 President F. folded, and that's how we got a strategic arms limitation to save this country literally hundreds of millions of dollars in defense spending. 0.68
00:27:46.580 I actually think, and I know I'll be accused of being a Russian spy or a Russian intelligence asset, the Russians have the same problem with radical Islam that we have. 0.98
00:28:01.240 And they're actually a natural partner for us in that struggle with Islam. 0.94
00:28:08.620 That's why we need to get this war over between Ukraine and Russia, where in all honesty, the Russians have made it clear from the beginning that NATO membership for Ukraine was a red line in the sand. 1.00
00:28:22.560 We are the ones who are violating the Budapest Memorandum, the Minsk Accords, two different agreements signed by George H.W. Bush when he was president, in which we agreed not to push Ukraine into NATO, which is to say not to put U.S.-funded NATO missiles on the ground in Ukraine pointed at Russia.
00:28:45.100 How is this different than Khrushchev putting Russian missiles in Cuba in 1962?
00:28:51.860 It isn't. 0.74
00:28:52.980 So I'm really hopeful the president can bring this war to an end because in many ways we have more in common with the Russians than we do with the Chinese.
00:29:01.340 Those who say Russia is the great threat to America, I don't think so.
00:29:05.160 I think China is the great threat to America.
00:29:07.460 Well, I think that goes without saying. I mean, even the craziest anti-Trump Russia did everything to us, Putin conspiracy theorist people can't possibly think that Russia is more of a threat to us.
00:29:20.280 I mean, again, if they're if they're still saying a lot of them are in and I can't we can't have debates with people who aren't in the world of reality.
00:29:26.700 But that said, Roger, I think everything you said makes sense. But what about the personal angle here?
00:29:34.100 I mean, I'm all about realpolitik, but we are dealing with Vladimir Putin.
00:29:38.260 And let's not even talk about the denigration of him.
00:29:41.860 Let's just talk about it on a regular scale.
00:29:44.280 Is this a partnership that we can trust?
00:29:46.820 Not necessarily because he might not be so trustworthy, but just because of the things you just said.
00:29:51.040 He's already been burned by us a couple of times, right?
00:29:54.160 No, I thought Tucker Carlson's interview with him was fascinating.
00:29:58.340 A lot of people trashed Tucker for asking him the questions he did.
00:30:01.900 But he outlined the times repeatedly when he would reach agreements with an American president, only to have that American president essentially overruled by the CIA.
00:30:12.100 So our track record is not that great.
00:30:14.620 Now, let's be very clear.
00:30:16.300 I had my Hungarian relatives mowed down by Russian tanks in Budapest in 1956.
00:30:23.040 I'm not a big fan of the Russians.
00:30:24.840 I'm certainly not a fan with their form of government.
00:30:27.300 It is a brutal totalitarian state.
00:30:29.560 And I'm not a fan of Vladimir Putin. 1.00
00:30:31.460 He's a brutal murderer. But I also think we have to be realistic and recognize that it is China that is buying up this country, not Russia. 0.90
00:30:40.780 It is China that poses the greatest danger to us, not Russia.
00:30:44.220 Why do you think China has been so much more successful at influencing this country than the Soviet Union ever was? 0.82
00:30:52.000 You know, the Soviets, sure, you know, we know about some famous double agents here, especially in some of our NATO partners over the years. 0.81
00:30:57.960 we know about some of their attempts to undermine our government and you know McCarthy wasn't all 0.78
00:31:03.400 wrong there were a lot of people he was right in calling out I mean you know he went over the top
00:31:07.840 in my opinion but he wasn't all wrong but you have to admit that China has been much more is it just 0.51
00:31:13.840 cash flow the fact that the Soviet Union even though it was much stronger militarily never had
00:31:18.700 the cash flow that China has now is that what we're talking about here first of all I think 0.76
00:31:22.940 they are they've been more clever about it they've been more inscrutable if you will they also take
00:31:27.940 a much much longer view they're extraordinarily patient people speaking about mccarthy by the way
00:31:34.580 is a great book called blacklisted by history by m stanton evans and if you'll read it you'll find
00:31:39.680 out that senator mccarthy was right about virtually everything he said the attack on mccarthy is one
00:31:45.000 of the great smear jobs of all time but the truth is there were soviet moles deep within both the
00:31:51.740 truman and the roosevelt administrations and that's a fact even though many try to say oh
00:31:56.780 you're a mccarthyist or mccarthy was a smear artist no actually i think mccarthy got smeared
00:32:02.080 i recommend that book too you can find it online it's called blacklisted by history by m stanton
00:32:07.860 evans great book yeah um and it started at los alamos i mean we know that the scientists at los
00:32:14.080 alamos developing our nuclear weapon during world war ii there was a significant soviet infiltration
00:32:19.760 there and they tried to cover it up for a long time but they knew pretty early on that someone
00:32:25.480 had ratted them out and of course that led 0.99
00:32:27.600 to the Rosenberg 0.99
00:32:28.420 and the Rosenbergs were 100% guilty 0.75
00:32:31.600 by the way, anyone who says otherwise 0.98
00:32:33.380 is completely ignorant 0.95
00:32:34.340 but let's move on to the situation 0.97
00:32:37.740 in Iran, with Iran right now
00:32:39.980 it looks
00:32:41.840 like the Trump administration
00:32:43.540 is comfortable with a waited out
00:32:45.760 stage right now
00:32:47.480 because the Iranian economy is getting weaker by the day
00:32:49.980 and all I can
00:32:51.820 say is that makes sense to me on paper 0.89
00:32:53.900 But remember, we're dealing with some really suicidally maniacal mullahs in Iran who don't seem to I don't know if they can be reasoned with. 0.95
00:33:06.280 And I'm worried that they're going to be like Hitler. 1.00
00:33:08.400 You know, the last thing Hitler did, his final order before committing suicide was to flood the subway tunnels of Berlin because so many Germans were hiding there and trying to survive bombing. 0.92
00:33:19.380 I'm not sure that these leaders of Iran right now are going to be OK. 0.98
00:33:24.060 I think that they might be OK with their whole country being destroyed rather and have them go down with them.
00:33:28.460 Can they be reasoned with?
00:33:30.420 I don't think they can be reasoned with them. 0.99
00:33:32.760 Reasoned with, I think, unlike the Japanese or the Germans in World War Two. 1.00
00:33:37.240 Yes, they wanted to destroy us, but they wanted to survive themselves. 0.99
00:33:40.440 These people don't care about surviving.
00:33:42.200 In fact, they think if you're a martyr, you know, you get 17 vestal virgins.
00:33:46.280 So we're not dealing with rational people here. And the brutality against their own people is, I mean, I've watched some of these videos. They're just truly, truly shocking.
00:33:58.860 I think now that we have begun, the president has no choice.
00:34:02.880 I would have probably preferred a more strategic approach. 0.88
00:34:07.920 In other words, I think you could have kept hitting the Republican Guard, the Iranian Republican Guard.
00:34:12.880 And ultimately, I think ultimately the military and the police join with the people. 0.52
00:34:18.560 You know, when people have nothing to eat, they do desperate things.
00:34:22.780 They do extraordinary things.
00:34:25.700 I think that, unfortunately, this is going to take a lot longer than anybody had expected.
00:34:31.440 And the president has done this going into the midterms, which shows that he's putting the interests of the country first.
00:34:38.040 If our intelligence sources tell us that they were that close to a nuclear weapon, and I believe they did,
00:34:45.240 then the president put politics aside and he did what he had to do.
00:34:49.340 It's not a pretty or easy road.
00:34:53.460 On the other hand, this is Donald Trump we're talking about.
00:34:56.960 He doesn't have to run for re-election, and he cares about the country. 1.00
00:35:00.880 These people are lunatics. 1.00
00:35:02.280 They're truly lunatics. 1.00
00:35:03.980 And I don't think he has any choice but to continue to keep hitting them and keep hitting them harder. 0.99
00:35:08.800 Roger, I don't know if you can stick with this.
00:35:10.720 We've got to take a break, but if you can stick with us to the top of the hour, that'd be great.
00:35:13.760 If not, thank you for joining us.
00:35:15.500 I want to talk a little bit about some domestic elections because you are a political strategist when we come back, if that's okay,
00:35:21.480 starting with what's going on in L.A.
00:35:22.980 if you're okay with that, Roger.
00:35:24.480 Well, you are on the hottest radio show in America today,
00:35:27.860 so I'm going to stick around.
00:35:29.660 All right, sounds good.
00:35:30.280 We'll be right back with Roger Stone.
00:35:31.520 I'm Jake Novak.
00:35:32.260 This is the Stone Zone.
00:35:33.740 The Stone Zone.
00:35:35.340 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:35:40.220 The Stone Zone.
00:35:41.960 Entertaining and informative.
00:35:43.920 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:35:48.200 And I'm Jake Novak in for Roger Stone.
00:35:50.180 But Roger Stone's on the phone with us right now,
00:35:51.900 So this is still 100 percent the stone zone. And we were talking about how all of us are watching very closely the developments out of China.
00:35:59.140 We're waiting for any kind of announcements, any news out of the China summit between President Trump and President Xi Jinping of China.
00:36:06.780 But listen, I got Roger Stone on the line. We were talking to someone who's a great political strategist.
00:36:11.100 So we've got to talk about some of these races and the the races that are really on the horizon right now, really coming up are these June 2nd primaries in California.
00:36:19.600 The statewide election for governor and that, you know, they do jungle primaries in California.
00:36:24.980 So everybody runs no matter what party you are. The top two finishers square off in November.
00:36:30.200 So we've got a very tight race for governor right now.
00:36:33.600 And we have an interesting development now in the mayoral election in Los Angeles, where Spencer Pratt, with these amazing ads that he's doing and media appearances and his fantastic performances at debates, has now jumped into second place.
00:36:47.060 he's now behind incumbent mayor karen bass 30 to 22 that's the latest poll i just saw today
00:36:53.160 uh roger what's what do you make of spencer pratt's uh methods is this the beginning of a
00:36:58.140 is he a one-of-a-kind guy or other people kind of maybe can do this and can california be saved by
00:37:03.900 these elections well first of all what something that president nixon once told me was the only
00:37:10.060 Anything worse in politics than being wrong is being boring.
00:37:15.220 And what Spencer Pratt has done here has been very entertaining and very interesting.
00:37:20.000 These online videos that he's made, first of all, they're hysterical.
00:37:25.420 They're extraordinarily entertaining.
00:37:28.120 And you get people's attention, and then you can talk common sense to them.
00:37:32.520 Now, he's running against Karen Bass, an avowed lover of both Mao Zedong and Fidel Castro.
00:37:37.780 Those are her two political heroes.
00:37:40.060 By her own admission, by the way, the jungle system is really not very conducive. 0.61
00:37:48.560 Here's what I mean by that.
00:37:50.020 In this particular case, you only have one major Republican running and the other candidates are all Democrats.
00:37:58.240 So it's not inconceivable that Steve Hilton will run first as the most viable Republican.
00:38:04.080 There's a sheriff running, but I don't see him being a major factor.
00:38:07.740 And then after that, you have a series of Democrats, including Katie Porter.
00:38:13.860 I mean, Katie Porter, pardon me. 1.00
00:38:16.620 This woman once dumped hot mashed potatoes on her husband's head. 0.93
00:38:20.320 You ever notice how the really crazy ones have that look in their eye, that kind of wide-eyed look that AOC has?
00:38:28.900 Adam Schiff has it as well.
00:38:31.160 So does Katie Porter.
00:38:32.560 So I don't think when you get to the general, when the two top vote getters face off, being a Republican gets you into the finals.
00:38:43.100 Unfortunately, being a Republican is a giant disadvantage when you get to the runoff, when there will only be one Democrat.
00:38:51.080 And the state still has a very significant Democrat majority in terms of registration.
00:38:57.440 which is hard to understand because here you have this beautiful state
00:39:01.240 where the weather is great 80% of the time, and they destroyed it.
00:39:06.980 And they literally destroyed it.
00:39:08.280 And they did it quickly.
