00:00:59.300 Today's guest is a, he's just a, he's just a young creator. That's really what he is. And

00:01:09.400 he's entertaining. He has new music that's out. You can check it out. I'm grateful to get to just

00:01:17.840 get to know him because I don't even know him, but looking forward to it. Today's guest is Maddox

00:01:23.820 Sings are coming in, dude. 1.00

00:01:53.640 So I learned about you, man. Um, and there's so many of my friends, I was telling them yesterday,

00:01:59.420 I was like, yeah, uh, this kid Maddox Sings coming in, do you know him? And like their guys

00:02:04.880 are like, I've been kind of following that kid. Like it's just kind of crazy. Like how many of

00:02:09.480 my friends are dialed into you? Yeah. Um, yeah. So I saw you getting ready for that dance, you know?

00:02:14.860 That's fire, bro. And I was like, bro, I used to get ready for dances like that.

00:02:20.140 Yeah. You know, getting excited. Exactly. You know, I actually didn't get to go to the dance

00:02:24.740 and a lot of people don't know why. That's what I was going to ask you. Why? Yeah. Cause

00:02:28.120 you said for a dance, I don't even get to go to it. And I'm like, yeah. And everyone's

00:02:31.780 like, yo, why Maddox? All the comments. Like I went to the doctor once, right? And I was,

00:02:36.240 I was at the doctor, like sick, like sick, sick. Right after I posted this video and I was

00:02:41.420 like sick. And I, and I was walking into the doctor's office and two different people were

00:02:45.620 like, yo Maddox, why didn't you go to the dance? And I'm like, dude, I'm doubled over

00:02:49.840 right now. It's not the right time to be asking this question. I was like, yeah, man, I was

00:02:54.540 actually sick. I was sick during the dance. It was like, it was like, yeah. Right after

00:02:58.660 I posted it, I did that video sick. Oh, wow. Yeah. So that was it. So the reason you didn't

00:03:03.000 get to go is just cause you were ill. Yeah, exactly. I've been ill a lot, bro. Like I've

00:03:07.660 gotten sick like six times in the winter. I don't know if I'm just catching everything.

00:03:12.460 You think it's genetics or something? Are your parents ill a lot? Nah, not really. My

00:03:16.280 dad is, but my mom has type one diabetes. So like other than that, she's not exactly

00:03:20.920 bro. Most people do. I mean, who doesn't? Yeah. If you even have half a bag of Skittles,

00:03:24.540 I feel like when you're a kid, you get it. Yeah. Well, I think no type one isn't like the

00:03:28.780 sugar stuff. Type one you get like diagnosed with. She was like 19. Yeah. Yeah. Cause I

00:03:33.180 think there's type one, two, three. I don't know what some of the higher up ones. Yeah. Six

00:03:40.080 or seven, I think just means like you're a little, like you're just a real sweetie pie.

00:03:43.800 Yeah. Type six diabetes might be diabetes basics. Yeah. I think type six just means, um,

00:03:51.040 Are there more types? Bro, there's so many types. Yeah. See, they don't label types. They

00:03:55.400 don't label three through whatever, because those are the crazy ones. Yeah. They only label

00:04:00.120 the normal ones that most people do. Most of them, you kind of look like a Dalmatian, 0.99

00:04:03.080 I think a little. Like you start getting dots all over you. Yeah. I haven't seen that one

00:04:07.640 yet. Oh, that's the real, that's the one when you start. That's the one you're just like,

00:04:11.160 dang, I have, I have, I have Dalmatian diabetes. You know what I'm saying? Like. Yeah. That's

00:04:17.420 the one, that's the one where like the neighbors start to like, uh, they start to honk at you

00:04:23.040 if you like run after their car. Yeah. And you start getting like dog instincts and you start

00:04:27.740 like, you start like, like picking up sticks, start pooping everywhere. You'll start catching

00:04:32.380 a Frisbee with your mouth. You're like, oh wow, this guy has really, he has some high

00:04:37.580 grade diabetes. Pick up your speed. Yeah. You know, just all that good. Um, have you had,

00:04:42.280 have you gone to a dance before yet though? Yeah. No, no, no. I've gone to them, bro.

00:04:46.420 They're, they're mad mid. I'm not gonna lie. I'm eighth grade. Yeah. You know,

00:04:49.320 still middle school. So it's kind of like boring. No one be dancing with them. They just sit

00:04:52.980 there with their phones out every time. Really? You know, I'm trying to dance, bro. Yeah. I go there like,

00:04:57.260 why are they going to call it a dance instead of like a phone gathering? You know what I'm

00:05:00.840 saying? Yeah. Yeah. I go there, they put on Bieber and I'm, I'm dancing, bro. You're

00:05:04.380 right. Me and my, me and my homie Joseph, we're dancing every time. Sixth grade dance.

00:05:08.800 Everyone was looking at us crazy, filming me and stuff. And you know, I was just out there

00:05:12.520 having a blast. Yeah. You got to do it. I paid $10. I'm going to go in there and dance.

00:05:16.660 You know what I'm saying? And even if you're single, you pay $10 to go. Yeah, exactly.

00:05:20.460 I didn't even have a girl yet. For like a lonely tax or whatever? Exactly. They're just

00:05:23.260 like, yo Maddox, you don't have a girl. So I'm going to make you pay more money. 0.80

00:05:27.020 Yeah. So now I don't have a girl and I'm broke. I lost my entire allowance and I don't

00:05:32.480 have a girlfriend, bro. It's tragic, bro. And bro, I used to get so nervous when I'd go

00:05:39.000 to the dance when the slow songs would come on. Like I would go in the bathroom and just

00:05:43.860 to hide. Like I was like, I was like so nervous of girls. I would be that far away from them.

00:05:48.580 I would be in the bathroom. Nah, I'm a girl guy, bro. Yeah. I am too. But at the time I was

00:05:54.120 too nervous. Oh yeah, yeah. Like sixth grade, bro. Until like the end of the year, bro,

00:05:57.280 I was not having girls, bro. But yeah, but right at the end, I was like, yo, these girls

00:06:01.760 are, you know, they're pretty cool, I guess. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? That's all

00:06:05.220 you got to think. Yeah. Exactly. As long as your mind's right, you're right. Yeah.

00:06:08.960 Exactly. Damn. All right. Um, but yeah, we get so nervous, dude. And then one time this 1.00

00:06:15.240 guy that lived across the street, his grandpa, like my dad didn't live with us and my mom

00:06:20.740 was always gone. And so like his grandpa helped me get ready for the dance at our school and

00:06:26.100 he like was in the war or something. So he put me in like all of his like military, like

00:06:31.560 attire. Nice. So you're like walking in like, yo, I'm a sergeant. Where's my, get a discount,

00:06:37.960 military discount. Oh, I showed up. I showed up to an eighth grade dance, literally like

00:06:44.820 walking in like this, bro. And people were like, what? You're not in any military, dude.

00:06:49.520 You can't even run that path. Yeah. You wouldn't even pass the physical. Yeah. Your 40s bad,

00:06:54.540 bro. And, um, but yeah, it was just so embarrassing, but I wore it all because I like just didn't

00:06:59.700 know. He told me it was right. Yeah, exactly. You didn't know. Yeah. I didn't know. Um, what

00:07:05.300 other dances have you gone to? Have you gone to like Sadie Hawkins? Do you guys have

00:07:07.900 like Sadie Hawkins or anything like that? I don't even know what that is, bro. It's

00:07:11.340 where the girls ask the guys. Ooh, no, never, never had one of those, you know, like I only

00:07:18.820 went, so I only went to one, right? Cause one was my sixth grade year. I actually went to

00:07:23.760 that one and had this crush on this girl. I didn't ask her out though. She wasn't my 0.99

00:07:26.860 girl yet, but I was like, I was like, yo, so did you see her at the dance? Yeah. And I was

00:07:31.700 like, I was like, yeah, but it was not it, bro. I did not, I did not have game. Like

00:07:37.060 I thought I had game. You were like 200 feet away. Yeah. I'm sitting on the other side

00:07:41.860 of the cafeteria eating my pizza. I'm trying to talk to her, like texting her. Yeah. I'm

00:07:47.280 like, yo, where you at? And I'm looking dead at her. But yeah, it's pretty, pretty funny.

00:07:54.280 Bro, that's hilarious. Yeah. That's how nervous I used to get. Exactly. And, um, and so you

00:07:59.420 never got to go. So when's the next dance? Do you have another dance coming up or what's

00:08:02.820 it look like? Nah, they're always at the end of the year. So like we've already had

00:08:05.920 ours and that's the one I missed. Oh yeah. Yeah, bro. It's pretty tragic, dude. I missed

00:08:10.420 it last year too. Seventh grade and eighth grade, bro. I'm gonna have to wait till like

00:08:13.740 what? What's next? What's like high school stuff? I don't know. I didn't finish. Yeah.

00:08:18.360 Oh, nice. Awesome. Yeah. Not everybody finishes, man. You know, that's all right. You

00:08:23.640 know, all good. All good. Um, but what, yeah, there's, why didn't you go to the other one

00:08:31.900 though? Why didn't you go last year? Oh, I was, I was actually filming a commercial,

00:08:34.460 bro. Shout out Rooms to Go. If you're watching any Rooms to Go commercial on your TV right

00:08:38.820 now, you get like an ad of this like podcast. It might be me. You might see me bouncing on

00:08:43.380 the bed, top right corner. Yep. About 36 seconds in too. Really? Yeah. So you've been an actress. 0.63

00:08:48.580 You were acting and doing a lot of stuff like that for a long time. Yes, bro. Before

00:08:51.600 I started singing, like I started singing like young age, my parents, both of my parents

00:08:55.540 like singing stuff, but I started acting like six, right when I moved to Alabama, right?

00:09:02.000 I started acting and I was like getting into plays and stuff. I was Simba in the Lion King.

00:09:06.300 Were you really? Yeah. Funny, funny story. I was third grade and young Simba was like fifth

00:09:11.580 grade and he was like way taller, way bigger. And I was adult Simba and it just made no sense

00:09:17.720 at all. But, you know, got the job done. I guess I was just a better actor.

00:09:21.820 And you were, so you had, oh, there you are right there. Boom, bro.

00:09:24.960 Maddison, wow. Yes, sir. Dude, look at them pics.

00:09:28.100 Whoa, hold on. That one looks like a perp right there. Go back to the other one. 0.92

00:09:34.780 The other one looks like a low-key Trank dealer, dude. Okay, no shade, bro. No shade.

00:09:39.860 It's good. Okay, yeah, no, it's really good. Yo, my mom used to put me in them high and tight

00:09:44.560 hairstyles, bro. I look like I'm staring into the soul of anyone who's looking at me.

00:09:50.420 Wow, yeah, that one. Bro, that is bad. That one looks like somebody that just climbed up

00:09:53.120 out of a wishing well, it looks like, bro. But really cool, though. Definitely.

00:09:58.240 Yo, whoever just pulled this up, you did me dirty, dude.

00:10:01.080 No, that is bad. You're doing me wrong, man. I don't know. Yeah, we don't know. Whoever's

00:10:04.140 doing that, I don't know who's doing that. Yeah. But look. No, actually, go back to it

00:10:07.280 real quick. Look. It says Nike on that. You can say theater. Best Christmas pageant

00:10:11.020 ever. You probably don't know what that is, but it was a pretty big play. Wizard of Oz,

00:10:15.180 you know? Lion King Jr. I wasn't in Broadway. And I was going to be Aladdin, and then COVID

00:10:20.140 hit, and I just, I fell off acting. And then music kind of has just, like, blasted

00:10:26.380 off for you recently, man. Yeah, dude. It was actually super crazy. So, I'm a baller. I play

00:10:31.420 basketball and baseball. Yeah, I saw some of your highlights on YouTube. I'm him, bro.

00:10:34.780 You need to put some other highlights up. Should I? Should I? I mean, the ones you

00:10:41.120 have are good. Yeah. The jumper, I love. Yeah, I love this, like, about. Bro, that

00:10:44.880 was sixth grade me, bro. That's what I'm saying. You've been rocking. No, no, no. You've

00:10:48.120 definitely been watching, like, the wrong highlights. Really? Yeah, you've been

00:10:51.160 watching, like, third grade Maddox. I was still cooking, but, like, that's not it, bro.

00:10:55.220 But, like, I actually got, like, this knee disorder in my, both of my knees, and that's

00:10:59.040 why I, like, couldn't play ball no more. And, like, it's called Osgood-Slaughter's

00:11:02.760 Disease. What is it? Osgood? Same. For real, like, when I heard it, I was, like, who names

00:11:08.860 their child Osgood and who had that? Like, poor guy. Your name's Osgood and you have

00:11:13.300 a disease. Like, you're cooked. And, first of all, how can I even tell people I have 0.99

00:11:19.200 disease? Exactly. Every time I'm, like, should I really tell them or just say I have a

00:11:22.920 knee thing? You see? Osgood-Slaughter's Disease, it's, like, some bone sticks up out of

00:11:27.220 my kneecap. Wow. It's pretty strange, man. So, you're, like, a real, 1.00

00:11:32.760 you're, like, a base now. Yeah, I'm, I'm just, I, I, I can't move most. Yeah. It's

00:11:39.380 pretty bad, bro. I'm, like, walking around, like, you know, like, you ever watch

00:11:42.660 Forrest Gump? Yeah, yeah. You know how he had, like, the knee braces? Like, he

00:11:45.780 couldn't move? That's what I feel like. It's not based on a true story, you know

00:11:48.220 that? For real? Yeah. It's not. It's not? No. Dang, I'm actually really sad about it. Is it

00:11:58.200 actually? It's not. Dude, Alabama has nothing. Like, Alabama has nothing. Little Todd

00:12:03.580 Willie you have? I mean, he's all right, you know, but, but, you know, you ever see

00:12:08.600 him, like, before he had, like, his knee braces off? That's what I feel like every

00:12:11.800 time I walk. Oh, really? Yeah. When he escaped the braces? Yeah, exactly. Those little leg prisons

00:12:16.540 or whatever they had him in? Yeah, exactly. The, the leg bars, yeah. Once, once Osgood, like,

00:12:21.600 sinks back down. Osgood. Osgood, bro. He needs to soften up, bro. Once he, like, once he

00:12:27.860 softens up, bro, I'm, I'm, I'm breaking free. Bro, Osgood and Osgood. Yeah. That's

00:12:32.200 how I feel. Exactly, bro. Yeah. Oh, that's how I feel. Exactly. But, yeah, that prevented

00:12:36.020 me from playing ball, so I had nothing else to do during that summer. So, you know, me

00:12:40.560 and my dad started playing music on TikTok Live, and I'm like, yeah, I'm actually doing

00:12:45.420 pretty good. I had, like, 50,000 followers, but for me, I was like, yo, it's crazy. That's

00:12:49.800 amazing, man. Exactly, in, like, a month. Yeah, that's exciting, man. Exactly. And, um, yeah, and

00:12:54.500 what was that right there? It said that Forrest Gump was maybe based on,

00:12:57.840 although Forrest Gump wasn't a real person. Inspired. There's a high possibility he was

00:13:01.780 partially inspired by veteran Sammy Lee Lewis. Was he the guy who dressed you up for the

00:13:06.200 dance? Yeah. Nice. He probably was. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice. Well, if music doesn't work

00:13:12.980 out, you have a future in being my co-host, bro. There we go, bro. We're dialed in. No

00:13:17.200 joke. Yeah, Sammy Lee Lewis, that was me going to prom. That was my haberdasher. That was

00:13:22.860 my, that was my fit god. Dude, did you have, um, oh, he had me all souped up, dude.

00:13:27.860 Bubblegum, like, bubblegum strip patches. Yeah, I had, like, a purple heart. And then

00:13:34.860 I had, like, a, um, yeah, I had, like, a discount. Like, the, yo, make sure I get my

00:13:39.920 discount. Yeah. Still had to pay 10, bro. Um, so what's it been like at home? Like, cause

00:13:46.580 your life has probably started to change some. Yeah, for real. Yeah, it really has. So what

00:13:49.840 does that kind of feel like? And what is that, has it been scary? Or kind of, like, what's

00:13:54.500 that seem like? You know, at the home life, I try to, I try to, like, get it as much as

00:13:59.080 I can. Like, I try, like, when I'm home with my, both of my parents at the same time, we

00:14:02.640 try to, like, slow it down and all that stuff. But, yeah, it's, it's pretty cool. I mean,

00:14:07.680 I, I love the music stuff, but I just try to stay down to earth for most times when I'm with

00:14:12.340 my parents. Yeah. Yeah. Cause they're still your parents. I mean, they make a lot of the rules

00:14:15.680 and everything. Exactly, bro. They're the ones who, you know, birthed me. So, you know,

00:14:19.340 without them, yeah, I wouldn't be here talking to you right now. So shout out to mom and dad.

00:14:24.020 If you're watching, bro, y'all made a great son. I gotta do that. Hey, shout out mom. You

00:14:32.300 made a great son. Yeah. Shout out miss Vaughn. Yeah. Shout out miss Vaughn. She's totally dialed 0.59

00:14:39.040 in. She delivered. My mom works for Amazon. What does your mom do? My mom with the diabetes, 0.96

00:14:43.900 she don't work. Oh, she doesn't? No, no, no. My dad, he like, he does like operations,

00:14:48.340 you know, stuff like that. He like runs like the entire plant, like, or like two plants

00:14:52.540 or something. I don't know. He's like a foreman kind of? I don't know what that is. Like

00:14:56.120 a man, I think that runs something basically? Yeah. He's a foreman. My dad's a foreman.

00:15:00.560 Hard worker, man. I think I've missed, I've watched him miss one day of work. His like entire

00:15:05.860 life, like my entire life. It's crazy, bro. He's always gone. And are you similar to him

00:15:10.080 or how, like what kind of, whose like characteristics do you have? So in some ways I'm dialed in.

00:15:14.880 Like when I'm, when I'm in the studio, bro, I'm like locked. When I'm making my music, I'm

00:15:18.760 dialed in. But like, other than that, bro, no, I am not trying, I'm trying to get out of

00:15:23.500 it as much as I can, bro. But I love it, bro. I, you know, I still love it. It's not

00:15:28.420 like for the fact that I don't want to do it. And sometimes I just be lazy. You know what

00:15:32.280 I'm saying? Oh yeah. Exactly. And you're at the age where you can be lazy. Like exactly.

00:15:36.560 I'm only 14, man. Yeah. If you can't be lazy, then why be alive? Exactly. You know

00:15:42.620 what I'm saying? Exactly. Exactly. I just have to take a minute, man. You're, you're

00:15:47.140 a hundred percent right. You know, I'm 14 years old. If I don't take time to be a kid, how

00:15:52.620 will I be a kid? Wise words. Put that on a shirt, dude. I swear. Put that. Yeah. Tattoo

00:15:57.980 that on somebody's. That'll be my first tattoo. Yeah, man. I, yeah. I think sometimes

00:16:02.860 cause things can happen. So things get going so fast. Yeah. Um, what about at school?

00:16:07.080 Can you still go to school or what are, what's that kind of like? Nah, it's crazy, bro. Like

00:16:10.880 uh, so were you going to school? I was, I was. Yeah. And then. And what classes were you

00:16:15.700 in? Were you in? No, I had like all the core classes, you know what I'm saying? Like, you

00:16:19.140 know, English, math. I hated English, bro. I'm just going to give it a buck, bro. I was

00:16:23.260 not good. I was, I was cooked. Like I had some bad grades. Really? Cause you speak it

00:16:26.400 pretty well. Yeah, I know. I'm trying, bro. But like they be doing some like non-English English. You

00:16:31.400 know what I'm saying? Like who cares if I can diagram eight sentences in a minute? You

00:16:35.780 know what I'm saying? And then I get a D and I'm just like, you know what I'm saying? I

00:16:39.580 don't need to do all that. I'm talking pretty fast. Yeah. The guy's good. I think, I think

00:16:43.640 they should ask your friends, can this guy speak English or not? Yeah, exactly. That's

00:16:46.900 the, that's the final, final exam. Can, can you say a sentence? And then if you can't

00:16:52.820 bro, sorry. That's okay. You still get a C. You still get a C. Yeah. You'll still make

00:16:58.760 it. So you have to, yeah. So what happened over there? So did you have to just take a

00:17:01.980 break from it? No, I'm homeschooled now. Oh, you are? I'm straight up homeschooled. I

00:17:05.540 got taken out. Yeah. But it was just for my career and I just, I, you know, I just wanted

00:17:10.340 to, you know, it's just something I felt like was the right decision to do. And just, you

00:17:15.220 know, I'm just, I'm ready for it, bro. I'm just, I'm very excited about my career and

00:17:19.160 that's why I did it. Yeah. I just want to. And is your, does your mom teach you at home?

00:17:23.620 Yeah. Yeah. She's a homeschool. She's pretty smart, bro. She don't give herself credit, 1.00

00:17:27.060 but dude, she's once again dialed in. She's dialed in on his teaching stuff. Some teachers

00:17:31.200 aren't that good. No. Yeah. No, I actually had one. You did? I can't, I can't. Yeah. I'm

00:17:37.900 not going to name her Miss Rug. Okay. Shout out to the rug below me. Name her Miss Rug and 0.99

00:17:44.240 Miss Rug, dude, she was strange. Like she wouldn't teach us. Oh yeah. Just going to throw that 1.00

00:17:51.000 out there. She, she did not teach us at all. She would just like, Hey, do this. And if we didn't

00:17:56.660 do it, we get like an F and we're just like, bro, you know, get up here and teach us, bro. And

00:18:01.380 she was strange too. No. So there's teachers sometimes that it's like, yeah, they don't even

00:18:06.820 like we had, um, we had a woman that, uh, would keep like little, she would do like little positive

00:18:16.620 notes. And she, she had like a hair bun, like a bun on her hair. And she would put these little

00:18:21.400 positive notes into her hair and you'd have to come up like it during a certain part of 0.84

00:18:25.520 class and pick one out and read it to the class or whatever. Like, yeah, that's weird. Yeah.

00:18:29.120 She was kind of like a wizard's wife or whatever. Yeah. I don't think I've ever had that weird

00:18:33.060 of a teacher. Yeah. This lady was bananas, dude. And we had a lady that would eat frozen 1.00

00:18:39.180 yogurt all day in her class all day. And so she would like keep like going to the teacher's

00:18:44.360 lounge or whatever. Yeah. And getting just more and more and more frozen yogurt and just keep

00:18:50.140 having it. Just frozen yogurt. And we're kids, you want some. Yeah. You're just like, yo,

00:18:54.060 give me some. Yeah. Fiends. Fiends. A lot of teachers are ridiculous. Not a big frozen yogurt 0.77

00:18:58.780 guy, bro. You're not a frozen yogurt guy? Yeah, bro. Give me some ice cream. Yeah. You

00:19:02.060 know, big cow guy, not whatever frozen yogurt. Probably cows too. I don't, I don't know. Bro,

00:19:08.320 I doubt it. Yeah, I doubt it. And if they start pulling yogurt out of something, I'm out

00:19:12.640 of here. Yeah, exactly. Like my nan will be coming up to me, yo, Max, you want a yogurt

00:19:16.880 cup? And I'm like, nah, I'm not trying to eat that, bro. Give me a popsicle. Like, no.

00:19:22.660 Yeah. See, here's the difference. Frozen yogurt versus ice cream. Cream, ice cream tends to

00:19:28.700 have a higher fat content while frozen yogurt contains more sugar to hide its pain to your

00:19:33.160 taste. Oh, wow. Well, frozen yogurt, it's just like, it's like, it's like Adidas. Yeah.

00:19:38.300 Ice cream is Nike. That's a good way to put it. Yeah. Like ice cream, Jordan, it's the goat.

00:19:44.100 Frozen yogurt is like Charles Barkley. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah. I feel

00:19:49.480 you a hundred percent, man. Exactly. Do you, um, yeah, like when you think about music next,

00:19:53.720 like what does it kind of look like for you? Because you have your song right now, Tears

00:19:57.320 in a River that people are really digging. Yes, sir. Make sure I go stream it, by the way.

00:20:00.500 I see you playing it for people and it's playing it for like, um, people that are really big

00:20:05.080 fans of yours and stuff like that. Yeah, exactly. It's real special, man. Yes, sir. Thank

00:20:07.940 you. And so what is that? Yeah. Cause like, how do you put an album together now? So

00:20:11.240 you just start like creating new songs? No, man, bro. I probably got like 30 songs.

00:20:16.240 Really? Like just, just in the vault. Uh-uh. Not even recorded, just written out. But you've

00:20:21.700 written? Yeah. My dad's a writer too. So. Wrote for the newspaper. He did? Yeah. Oh,

00:20:26.500 hell yeah. Fun fact. Fun fact. This guy cannot spell. My dad cannot spell worth a lick. Wow.

00:20:31.640 And he wouldn't check, he wouldn't like read after he wrote them and then he would publish

00:20:35.800 them. My mom's reading it and just like, Dan, bro, eight misspells today. Your dad's got

00:20:40.640 freaking Rita Beatty's it sounds like. Rita Beatty's. He's got glasses, bro. He's cross-eyed.

00:20:46.480 You'll be looking at him and then he's like looking over here and you're just like, dude, where

00:20:50.360 are you at? That's awesome. Yeah. He probably couldn't see the words. Oh yeah. Half

00:20:54.120 my parents cross-eyed, dude. It's awesome. Nice. Nice. Oh, it gets pretty crazy. Yeah. You'll be

00:20:59.640 looking at him and you're just like, dude, are you hot? But love dad though. Oh yeah.

00:21:04.740 You know, good writer, good music. Yeah. Love you, Dad. Shout out Dan. Shout out Dan.

00:21:08.400 Shout out Dan. Exactly. But yeah, he's written a lot of songs. He actually did like what I'm

00:21:13.460 doing like 30 years ago. Really? Mm-hmm. Oh, wow. He's like 18, 19. Moved to Nashville.

00:21:18.300 Nuh-uh. Yeah. It's almost like this has been in your genes kind of to. Exactly. Yes, sir.

00:21:22.800 He was like, he introduced me to music when I was a kid. You did? Yes, sir. Wow. Yeah. Grew up on it.

00:21:28.480 Do you remember like the first show y'all ever went to? First show? I think I remember

00:21:33.060 I went to a bluegrass festival, bro. He played bluegrass. He was like, he won the- He was

00:21:37.340 a picker? Yeah, exactly. He won the Mandolin National Championship back in 92, bro.

00:21:42.160 Your father did? Yep. Shout out Dan Batts. Exactly, bro. Name on a plaque and everything.

00:21:46.460 Uh-uh. If you know who Bill Monroe is. Yeah, yeah, I know who Bill Monroe is. Yeah, he played

00:21:49.980 with him. He played with him. No way. Like three times. It's crazy. Yeah, Dan's the man. Dan the

00:21:54.340 man. Dude, so Dan was pretty prolific, Dan. He did. It sounded like he did a good

00:21:57.480 bit. Exactly, bro. He was famous in the bluegrass, you know, industry. And then he like fell

00:22:03.860 off after age 13. So, you know, short-lived career. Age 13? Yeah. Bro, started smoking

00:22:11.280 at 13. Oh, that'll do it. Yeah, things can go downhill fast. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, we just

00:22:15.940 had a guy, Billy Strings, in here. Yeah, dude. He's a great- He's sick. He's sick, man.

00:22:20.240 And so that was really, it was really cool just to talk with him and learn about what he likes

00:22:23.840 to do. I went fishing with him this weekend, actually. Oh, that's sick. Yeah, so you're a big

00:22:26.920 fisherman. It's fun, man. Yeah. I like going. Yeah. It's just like, I wish I had more time

00:22:31.680 to go sometimes because of doing comedy and stuff. I'm on the road, but I'm going to try

00:22:37.940 to keep making more time. Yeah, fishing's fun. I'm a big hunting guy. Really? I like

00:22:41.940 hunting with my papa, yeah. Yeah? Big hunt. So who's that, your grandfather? Yeah. Nice.

00:22:46.500 Man and papa. Are they cool? Yeah, they're pretty cool. Where do they live at? Well, I was

00:22:51.520 talking about this farm earlier. I used to live on a farm, like about an hour north of

00:22:56.600 here. Yeah, I live on that farm until I was seven, then I moved to Bama. Okay. But we

00:23:01.720 lived for real right next to each other. Oh, nice. Like within like, me to you. Dang.

00:23:07.300 Yeah. Pretty crazy. That's beautiful, man. Exactly, man. And how do your grandparents feel

00:23:12.640 about your new- At first, they were like, pretty skeptical because, you know, they're

00:23:17.700 grandparents. They're not going to like, you know. Yeah, they're skeptical. And they should

00:23:20.940 be. Exactly. That's what we expected. That's what we expected out of Nana and Papa,

00:23:24.720 right? And then, oh my God, I'm in a joke. Yeah, that's exactly what we expected out of

00:23:33.440 them. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And then a couple months down the road, they start seeing that

00:23:37.100 it's like the people I'm working with more trustworthy. They start, like they met, they

00:23:40.640 met the people I'm working with today. Yeah, like literally today. Oh, yeah? Today, yeah.

00:23:45.040 So they started feeling better about it. Yeah, and they're like, oh, okay. He's not like,

00:23:48.580 you know, you know, like. Yeah, you're not, they're not out here selling your soul,

00:23:53.160 you know. Yeah, and they, and you know, they, they figured that out after the fact

00:23:57.860 that I was just literally just singing music. Right. And they're like, oh, you know what

00:24:02.440 I'm saying? Well, I think the, it's popularity that scares people, you know. Yeah. Fame can

00:24:06.260 be real scary. Exactly. Fame can be scary. Are there parts of being popular that feel scary

00:24:10.580 to you? Or are there parts that it just feels like you're just learning the ropes? Or what

00:24:14.600 is it like? Yeah, people asking me for money. And I'm like, dog, I don't have money.

00:24:18.700 You know what I'm saying? Like, I make TikToks, bro. I make music. I ain't got my paychecks

00:24:23.220 in. I'm 14. I can't even get paychecks. My parents get those. And they're like, yo,

00:24:28.820 man, you sold me a 20. And I'm like, I don't have 20. Yeah. You're like, look, dad.

00:24:32.100 I'm in my lunch account, bro. Stop trying to exploit me, Dan. Dad does not do that, by

00:24:37.780 the way. No, no. Great dad, by the way. That is a great guy, dude. He's a mandolin champion

00:24:41.700 too, I think in 90. 92. I think. I don't know. I have to fact check. He was great back

00:24:46.960 then, dude. Yeah. Legend. He was a legend too. He was a high school wrestler too, wasn't

00:24:51.200 he? No. He wasn't? No. Oh, I thought you told me that he was. No. He played ball, basketball.

00:24:56.980 Oh, he played basketball. Yeah, that's where I got it from. Yeah. And then you lost it though.

00:25:00.640 Yeah, and then I lost it. Whole dreams crushed. Yeah. But then after that, I was like, yo, am

00:25:05.560 I really going to make it into the league? You know, you just have to accept that at a point.

00:25:09.180 And I said this on one of my videos, bro. I've heard it's like two inches, especially

00:25:13.700 with Osgood over there. Like, he's restricting me. Oh, no. Turn this off, bro. Ain't no way.

00:25:20.500 This is you? Yeah. This feels illegal to watch. I don't even think I can watch this on YouTube.

00:25:25.880 No, you can't. Oh, here you go right here, dude. Oh, cut back. Dude, no way we're watching

00:25:30.600 this. Money in the bank. I'm a lefty. Wow. I had 45 in a game, bro. Did you really?

00:25:36.020 Really? Yes. I'm not even counting. That's an AAU team. Fun fact, I was the only white

00:25:40.360 kid on that team. Really? Yep. Fun fact, I believe that. Bro, that's a sick pass right

00:25:44.900 there. I know. I'm dialed in. Jason Williams is my favorite player. Is he? Yeah. Wow.

00:25:49.680 Yeah. That's incredible, man. J. Will, white chocolate, bro. Yeah, yeah. He's the man.

00:25:55.000 Oh, that's incredible. If you see me, I'm number 55 on most teams. That's where I got it,

00:25:59.120 bro. Nice. That was him, bro. Look at me. Dang. I'm out of the four foot two, dude. I'm cooking

00:26:05.300 these kids. Dude, you see a little Sally? I said, hey, call me Curry. Yeah, yeah, bro.

00:26:09.580 The chef is home. I was a fanboy. I'm not going to lie. I was a Curry fanboy. You were?

00:26:13.740 Yeah. But my dad would never let me buy his shoes because he didn't want me to be like

00:26:17.840 everyone else. So I never had any Currys, but I was definitely a fanboy. I used to watch

00:26:22.300 the highlights all the time. Curry's so special. Curry's the man, bro.

00:26:25.640 What about musically? Do you have some of your heroes, kind of, or what does that look

00:26:29.300 like for your heroes? Yeah, yeah. So really, honestly and truly, it's my dad. Like, because

00:26:33.780 he does music and it's just something I can relate to so well and I just, I know him.

00:26:38.120 He's my dad, right? So he's just really been my hero throughout this entire thing. My dad

00:26:42.660 and mom, really, you know, because they both do music. But like, other than that, like,

00:26:48.960 Wyatt Flores. Wyatt Flores, he does like, he does country music. He does? I'm not familiar

00:26:54.960 with him. Yeah, he's pretty sweet, bro. Wyatt Flores. You bring him up? Yeah, you need

00:26:58.540 to get him, bro, bro. He's, he's fire. He's fire. Wyatt Flores. Wow. Yeah, that's him

00:27:04.020 right there. I'm gonna check him out. Mm-hmm. He's all right. But, um, I like the old guys

00:27:08.380 too. Keith Whitley. Mm-hmm. The man. The man. Um, you look, he look like him too. What's

00:27:14.660 a good pair? Keith Whitley? Yeah. Bring him up when we see him. A little mullet. If you

00:27:18.100 had a curly mullet, dude, twins. And it was, and it was like, wow, dear.

00:27:24.960 I'm like, I didn't realize it was that curly there, Keith. Calm it down there, bud. It's 1.00

00:27:30.200 like the definition of an 80s American. Oh, Keith. And look at Keith. Hold on. Keith's

00:27:35.240 meeting a lady right there too. So let's don't act like Keith's hair didn't do his job.

00:27:40.180 Exactly, bro. He was dialed in. Look at him on the left with that pink shirt on. Oh,

00:27:44.200 yeah. Keith is. What a, what a beast. Keith is ready. Keith is dialed. Yeah. Keith

00:27:49.240 is ready for his, another wedding. Yeah. I'll say that. Um, what about the, split that

00:27:54.560 video when I used to sing at the church? See if you can pull that one up. Yeah. No

00:27:59.200 way. Yeah, brother. Oh, I'll used to let the Lord just use me like a little violin,

00:28:09.420 brother. Nice. Like a little baby bird. Tweet, tweet. You feel me? Like a little parrot. Pull

00:28:16.560 it up, baby. Yeah, this right here. You'll see. Okay. That's you. He's like Troy Bolton.

00:28:35.540 Hey, brother, look. They only offered.

00:28:42.820 Okay. Here I am right here, brother.

00:28:58.180 Now that's some Keith Whitley, huh? You're a singer? Yeah. Yo, I didn't even know that.

00:29:05.280 Hey, in the house of the Lord, everybody's a singer, brother. Okay. Praise God, dude. Okay.

00:29:10.960 That's good, man. For giving you the gift of singing. That's all you do. Wow. Just warming

00:29:15.820 up the chords for the Lord, baby. Exactly. Dude, I, I sang in church back in the day. Did

00:29:20.720 you? I don't think there's any videos of it, but yeah, most definitely did, bro. I actually

00:29:25.400 like, funny story. I was doing a wax museum at my school. You know what those are? Where

00:29:31.000 you're like, they tap the button, you have to be someone. I was JFK. Okay. And my teacher-

00:29:35.540 Kind of a scary thing to make a kid be a little bit. Yeah, but, you know, he was, you know.

00:29:40.820 Right. It started off good for him. Exactly. Exactly. And then he was like, my teacher was

00:29:45.360 like, yo, no one spend any money on this. Don't go overboard. My parents bought me a Brooks

00:29:51.580 brother suit and tie. And I was, dude, that we, if we all had the video, bro, this is fire.

00:29:56.960 Like I knew every word, like born Massachusetts, like I was dialed in. For JFK? For JFK. Wow.

00:30:03.740 Yeah. I didn't reenact it though. You didn't? No. That's good. Yeah. I think, yeah, you got

00:30:09.320 to stay within certain bounds, you know. Second grade, my acting skills. And I don't think

00:30:15.880 we have the budget for that either. Yeah. No, my acting skills weren't there yet. Yeah.

00:30:21.800 I don't think anybody's acting skills need to be there for the end of JFK, bro. Um, no.

00:30:28.720 Wow. You're crazy. Hopefully not. Hopefully not. You got to get some help, but, um, yeah. 1.00

00:30:34.360 What, uh, do you miss being at school? Is it kind of weird sometimes? No. You don't?

00:30:37.820 Nah. Nah. Because I just wasn't good at- I guess it's crazy to ask a 14-year-old, do you

00:30:40.560 miss being at school? Yeah, no. I mean, yeah, you would expect me to say no, but there's good

00:30:45.420 reasons because I, honestly, I wasn't good at school. You know, I mean, I was, but then I

00:30:50.020 low-key fell off. I don't know what happened, but I just, I went from a 93 in English to

00:30:54.460 like a 60. Oh, wow. I fell off, bro. It was like Jordan, I mean, um, Jordan after he left

00:30:59.800 the Bulls. Oh, yeah. That's how I felt like. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. When he was-

00:31:02.920 I still cheered for him. Yeah. He was the man. I wasn't alive, but, you know. I still tuned

00:31:08.300 in now. Um. I don't listen at all. You don't? Mm-mm. I'm trying to think of what else

00:31:14.680 were some things we're going to talk about. Anything else that we wanted to look at?

00:31:17.080 I'd like to know who you consider locked in and not locked in. You like that word. Who's

00:31:24.180 locked in right now? Yeah, or guess who's locked in on your playlist, man? What do you

00:31:27.960 mean? I guess we talked about some artists that you like. Yeah. Um. Do you think like

00:31:35.180 you would maybe go on, because you have to come out with more music, because right now

00:31:39.320 you have how many songs out? One. Wow. Singular. Yeah. Singular. Yeah. Because people kept tagging

00:31:44.620 us in videos together. Like, you guys, this guy reminds me of you. Yeah, exactly. Especially

00:31:48.960 after the suit one, bro. Yeah. I was getting mad Theo Vaughn comments. Yeah. Yeah. I was

00:31:53.080 like, yo, for real? And then he followed me, and I was like, yo, I was actually in the studio,

00:31:57.520 and I ran around the studio. Really? Slowly? Yeah. All right. Yeah. My 40 times, like, 40.

00:32:06.040 It's still hot. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, I was pretty excited. Yeah, but you ran the best

00:32:09.320 your ability around the studio. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Well, thanks, bro. Yeah, dude.

00:32:13.700 Yeah, I just, yeah, people were like, these guys, it reminds me of you maybe when you was

00:32:17.820 a kid, and I was like, oh. I definitely remember getting ready for a dance, you know? Yeah.

00:32:22.400 But I would just be so nervous. My back would always just, I would see the girls, and I would

00:32:26.320 just, like, and my back would start sweating, and then I would have to just go stand in the

00:32:32.300 bathroom for a while. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, because you must have women just throwing 1.00

00:32:36.500 rocks at your window at night, huh? Yeah, dude. It's pretty weird. Is it? I'm not gonna

00:32:39.900 lie. Like, I, yeah, I got it at the beginning. I was like, yeah, this is normal. But then

00:32:44.540 eventually, like, I was starting getting, like, a lot. If I had a P.O. box, bro, I'm

00:32:49.940 cooked. But I don't. But, so, but, like, if I did, I'm done. But. Yeah, I don't think

00:32:54.840 you can legally have one. No, but dad can. Yeah. Yeah. Put it under his name. Yeah, get

00:32:59.300 it, Dan. Yeah, get it, Dan. Yeah, get it, Dan. Dan's just over there just reading mail

00:33:02.900 from children all day. Pretty weird messages, probably. But do people make you some nice

00:33:09.720 things? Yeah, they be drawing me and stuff. I'm like, y'all, thanks, y'all, thank y'all.

00:33:13.180 But I'll be, I'll be seeing on the videos, like, I saw this video yesterday. This girl

00:33:17.240 was, like, crying. She was, like, crying. I put, I put her on my story. That was it.

00:33:21.120 And she just busted out in tears that her mom was filming. I was like, yo, that's what I

00:33:24.780 do it for, bro. Oh, it made her day, huh? Exactly, man. I do it for the fans. That's, like,

00:33:28.940 that's the main reason. Oh, yeah. I saw you stop by a woman's house, um, and play some music 1.00

00:33:32.840 for. Yes, sir. It was, it was a very fun experience. It was actually my first time

00:33:35.820 doing that, like, meeting fans and playing my songs before it came out. Shout out, Miss

00:33:40.060 Hannah. Yeah, what's up, Miss Hannah? Yeah, exactly. Was that nerve-wracking, kind of?

00:33:43.580 Yes, sir. It was, honestly. I mean, I, I don't get nervous a whole lot, but I like, when I'm

00:33:49.420 around my fans, I do. Because, once again, it's just, like, they're the reason I'm here.

00:33:54.280 They're the reason I'm talking to you. They're the reason I put out music. So, yeah. Yeah, what

00:33:58.860 do you think, people, it is, I mean, I think, well, let me think about it. I think, for one,

00:34:02.420 you're definitely funny. I realize that even more sitting here with you. Thank you. Appreciate

00:34:06.600 it. Yeah, great energy. And I think, like, moments, like, with a dance or with, like,

00:34:13.260 talking to a young lady, like, those are things that a lot of people can relate to. Exactly. Like,

00:34:18.260 when you were getting ready for the dance, even if you weren't going, it took me back

00:34:21.240 to all the moments, like, oh, dude, I was at home. I didn't even have anybody to go with,

00:34:26.020 and I'm like, I'm just, because then you get there, and you're like, oh, it's just my same

00:34:29.260 lame friends. Yeah. But we just all smell better than that, you know? Yeah. We all

00:34:33.820 put on the odor and ax, you know? Yeah, yeah. Oh, ax had come out hot, dude, and people

00:34:39.100 were doing all, people were drinking it, people were doing all kind of stuff. People

00:34:43.000 were reading. Drinking ax is devious work. I'm not going to lie. Dude, we'd be doing ax

00:34:47.900 bombs at my school. We'd open up the locker and, like, throw it in, and then they open it,

00:34:52.680 and they're, like, cooked. All their papers are, like, drenched in ax. Just ax? Yeah.

00:34:57.740 Yeah. Everything they tear in, it smells like ax. Yeah, exactly. Like, gosh, this D-minus

00:35:03.180 is wearing deodorant? That seems a little wild. Yeah. Dude. At homeschool, do you get

00:35:10.320 grades, or what do you even? No. I just be, like, I can, I can, like, if I do it through

00:35:16.220 a, like, actual homeschool, like, system, I'll get, like, grades and stuff, but, like, right

00:35:22.020 now, to the end of school year, I'm doing it with my mom. I'm just, like, doing it with

00:35:25.340 my mom. I'm trying to learn everything, and you can, like, see, uh, because I'm a little

00:35:30.220 behind, you know what I'm saying? I missed, I missed, like, 30 days in the last nine weeks,

00:35:37.520 you know, but, all right, but. So, you're going to be going to summer school at home?

00:35:42.840 That's crazy. Yeah, I'm cooked, dude, but, like, summer break starts whenever I want summer's

00:35:47.520 break to start, you know, I'm dialed in. Okay, okay. So, you could help set the curriculum a little.

00:35:52.340 Exactly. Okay. But, still, you got to finish it all, right? And, is your mom, like, do

00:35:56.840 you have to call her Miss Batson? No. Okay. No, I mean, I haven't taken it that far. I

00:36:01.780 mean, I could, but, like, you know. I would. Yeah. I mean, I would set the parameters, like,

00:36:06.740 from. If your mom was, if your mom was teaching you to call her Miss Vaughn. Yeah. No, you

00:36:10.820 wouldn't. From 9 to 2 p.m., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., you're Miss Vaughn, and if you get

00:36:15.380 out of line, I'm calling the school board. Who's the school board? Miss Vaughn, Vaughn?

00:36:18.700 I don't know. Her? Like, she's the only. Grandma. I don't know. Somebody. Yeah, dad.

00:36:24.060 Yeah. Yeah, I feel like if you get out of line. Bring the paddle out, bro. You're good.

00:36:27.820 Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm doing. Yeah. Dude, they used to paddle us when I was in school,

00:36:30.640 bro. Yeah, that's not, not allowed anymore. I'm not gonna lie. You think it should bring

00:36:35.680 it back? You know, with some of the, this is a, this is a topic that's crazy. I'm not gonna

00:36:41.620 lie. With some of the kids in my school, yes. With me, no. Yeah. You know, I don't need

00:36:46.380 all that. Yeah. You know? I'd probably start crying in front of the girls, and my whole,

00:36:49.720 my whole, my whole social life's ruined. Your whole stealer would be gone, huh? But

00:36:53.440 also, since you're out of school now, yeah, they should have it then. No. I'm not gonna,

00:36:58.340 no. But you don't have to deal with it? Oh, oh, oh, like at school still? Yeah, yeah.

00:37:03.920 If I, since I'm out there, yeah, sure, whatever, do whatever you want. Like, I'm out there,

00:37:07.540 you know? Yeah, I think that this is definitely start really beating some kids. Um, no, this

00:37:14.720 is not allowed. And that's on, yeah, and that's not what we're talking about today. Um, so

00:37:19.640 what, what, what else do you think about, man? At your age, what are some things that

00:37:22.460 you think about right now? Like, what keeps you excited every day? What do you like to

00:37:25.700 do? Are there any hobbies? What do you, give me a little bit more. I just want to know a

00:37:28.720 little bit more about Maddox Batson before we get out of here. Um, you know, women. 1.00

00:37:33.500 I'm just going to keep it a buck for you. Like them and then everything else. Women 1.00

00:37:37.500 above music. Yeah. You know? Wow. Sorry. You remind me of Morgan

00:37:41.500 actually. You know, that was his answer. Mini Morgan, bro. Morgan Bieber. Is it hard to

00:37:46.400 stay focused then? Yes. Yeah. People want to hear what you're going to do next. Yeah,

00:37:50.100 exactly. That is true, huh? I guess there becomes a point because this doesn't happen

00:37:53.180 for comedians. So for musicians, you put out something, people get intrigued by it and

00:37:58.000 then they're like, yeah, what are you going to do next? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. It's crazy.

00:38:02.900 Wow. So do you feel some pressure with that or not really? Not really. I try to not think

00:38:07.820 about it. You know what I'm saying? So I just try when the moment comes, I'll think about

00:38:11.740 it. And when I put out my song, I'll think about it. But like, like right after I put

00:38:16.280 the song out, I'm not like, oh, when's my next song? You know what I'm saying? If that

00:38:19.340 makes sense. I don't know. Yeah, I think so. So in the meantime, what else do you do to

00:38:24.020 kind of take up your time? I'm a big gamer, bro. You are? Yeah, dude. What do you, you like

00:38:30.280 games? I'll play Zelda right now on Switch. That's where I'm at. That's a, that's a pretty

00:38:34.140 weird game. Not going to lie, dude. Yeah. You know, are you, you're a weird guy. So

00:38:38.180 I feel like, no, no offense, by the way. No, I believe you. Yeah. Yeah. You know what

00:38:42.500 I'm saying? So Zelda fits you. Once again, he looks like Zelda and we, he's had three

00:38:48.560 resemblances since I met him. Yeah. Elon Musk, Zelda and, and Keith Whitley. Yeah. Pretty

00:38:56.620 broad. No, not Zelda, like the girl, but like the other main character. What's his

00:39:03.500 name? Like Link. Link. Link is a little too, uh, yeah, he's got it together a little too

00:39:08.840 much for me. Yeah. Um, so, so we don't know when the new music's going to happen, but we

00:39:13.240 know it's on the way. Yes, sir. It is most definitely on the way. Yes, sir. Been working, been working

00:39:17.940 pretty hard with some pretty cool people. So I'm very excited for what's to come. Yes,

00:39:21.060 sir. And what about some new dad? We're going to see you getting ready for any more dances. 0.87

00:39:24.240 We got to see another get ready video at some point. What's the, what's the next year

00:39:28.060 ready to meet? You know what I was thinking? That's a good point. You know what I was thinking?

00:39:30.980 Huh? Me and you getting ready. Getting ready for what? I don't know. Just getting ready

00:39:34.540 to go on the podcast. And, but we already are on it. No, I know. But the fans don't know

00:39:40.980 that. Cut that out. Okay. The fans don't know. You need to go back in time. Yeah, exactly.

00:39:44.420 That's what you got to do sometimes. You know what? I would be ready. You know what?

00:39:47.720 I would do. I wonder if I would do a reenactment of your get ready video. Have people done

00:39:51.340 a lot of those? A couple. I've actually seen like a couple like, like people like doing

00:39:58.120 stuff like after me, which I take pride in. You know, I like, I like, I like that I impact

00:40:02.640 people like that. It's pretty cool. Yeah, well, it's fun. I think it's exciting to be,

00:40:05.960 yeah, because people, I think then next time you're getting ready and you, even if you're

00:40:08.840 just getting ready for work or whatever or school or whatever, you're kind of like, you

00:40:12.500 know, you're kind of doing the Maddox Batson version of it where you're kind of

00:40:16.000 like having a little more fun than usual. Yeah. Yeah. I see like what it really inspired

00:40:20.100 me to do. My dad thought it was stupid when I was like, yo, dad, because I was only doing

00:40:24.040 like covers at the time. I was like, yo, dad, let me do this. Get ready with me. He was

00:40:26.800 like, what? That's stupid. And I was like, nah, bro. Trust, trust. Yeah. And he did. 1.00

00:40:31.460 And I'm like, let's go, Dan the man. Let's go, Dan. He finally locked in. Who pulled it

00:40:38.700 up? Someone pulled up one of my get ready with me. He just started playing up there.

00:40:41.780 They did? Yeah. It's probably Ben who works here. I know. Probably him. I forgot it.

00:40:47.600 I met him downstairs. Yeah. Nice guy, Ben. Ben. He's a weird name though, Ben. What about

00:40:53.140 Benjamin? Yeah. Benjamin. Yeah. Benjamin. Dude, why don't look? Yeah. I would do a wonderful

00:41:01.720 maybe I'll try to do a reenactment of your get ready video or what if you just go take

00:41:05.780 a ride. I did get a, I got a cyber truck, right? Yeah. So I wonder if you would, maybe

00:41:10.700 we could take a ride. You could probably drive it if you want. Let's drive it, bro. You can

00:41:13.840 drive, right? I feel like it'd be like a video game. Okay. Yeah. If you play video games,

00:41:17.080 you could definitely do it. Exactly. If I play like, yeah, I crash a lot though. You

00:41:20.600 do? Yeah. I think you can hit stuff with it. I mean, it's pretty daggum sharp and it looks

00:41:25.840 pretty sturdy. Yeah. Like I could. You can do it. I think you could do it. Yeah. Yeah. Can

00:41:33.320 you do it? Yep. Nice. Nice. Okay. Sounds like you kidding me. All right. Let's do it. Maddox,

00:41:40.900 thanks for coming in, man. I'm just glad to get to meet you, bro. Thanks for making me

00:41:44.020 laugh and I appreciate it. Yeah. I'm excited about your adventure because I think it's

00:41:48.500 real interesting. You're like at this place where it's like, well, how do I like what

00:41:53.040 happens now? You know, just an interesting place in your life. You know, what are some of

00:41:57.820 your hopes you think when you look at that kind of, um, my hope just over the course of my

00:42:02.860 career and my music career is just, just to make people, you know, happy, you know,

00:42:06.880 just for them to enjoy my music throughout my career and just, um, put out stuff that

00:42:12.200 I want to do, just keep my integrity intact, you know, stuff like that. You know, keep

00:42:16.600 myself financially stable and my family and stuff like that. I'd like to win a Grammy,

00:42:21.400 you know? Dang, really? That'd be sick, wouldn't it? Wow. Winning a Grammy, wouldn't that be

00:42:25.380 awesome? You won one? No, I didn't. Jelly Roll, did he win one? No, he was nominated.

00:42:29.460 Did he win? He should have won. He should have won. If he didn't, he should have. No,

00:42:33.460 he won. Jelly Roll's a man, bro. He did? I know. Nah, I didn't see him on the stage.

00:42:37.860 Did he win or not? No, he got nominated. He has two? He was nominated for two. Whoa.

00:42:44.200 He walked away empty handed. BS. I know. It's kind of like Morgan, bro. What are they doing

00:42:49.780 with that, bro? That's those industries, man. I know. They just be, they be. It's not real.

00:42:53.980 Exactly. It's not real. Scripted. Scripted. But what is real is meeting children off of

00:42:58.860 TikTok, dude. Yep, exactly. That's what I'm talking about. You know what I'm saying?

00:43:01.660 Real right now. Yes, sir. Let's go. All right, Maddox Vatson, thanks so much, bro. Nice

00:43:06.280 to meet you. Yes, sir. Most definitely. Let's go take a ride in the truck, bro. Let's run it.

00:43:08.640 Now I'm just floating on the breeze and I feel I'm falling like these leaves. I must be

00:43:15.380 cornerstone. Oh, but when I reach that ground, I'll share this peace of mind I found. I can

00:43:25.560 feel it in my bones. But it's gonna take...
