00:12:28.000I'm asking him, I'm like, this guy seems like a clown to me, but he's like, I know, but he's a deity as far as the left is concerned, the media, anything he said.
00:12:37.000If you went against him, they would have impeached my father for not listening to Fauci because he was the pinnacle of everything.
00:12:45.000And yet, if you look at his record, not just during COVID, but from the 1980s on, whether it's the AIDS epidemic or so, he has not been right about anything in four decades, which is scary.
00:12:55.000I'll tell you something that did strike me was the level of I guess I'm.
00:13:00.000Look, I didn't go to college, but malevolence, I think, is the word I'm looking for here.
00:14:05.000And if you got hit by a bus and also happened to have COVID, Even if it wasn't going to do anything to you because you had no pre existing conditions, you know, that was a COVID death.
00:14:32.000People had their lives ruined because of these lies, their finances, their business ruined, their education ruined, their graduation ruined.
00:15:21.000Under control, meaning the rise of inflation, you know, it's still a little higher right now because of gas prices.
00:15:25.000I think that'll be a short lived thing, and I hope.
00:15:27.000But no one talks about you had four years where everything recentered up high.
00:15:31.000Like you're never in America running, you're going to run negative inflation at, you know, negative 10% for two decades to be able to get back to that baseline.
00:15:39.000So you can't, you know, they want, oh, Trump's causing this.
00:16:07.000No, it's very, very difficult to be able to afford to live here in the insane asylum because of all of those idiotic policies and the costs that are associated with it.
00:16:17.000What's wild to me is that when you look at the midterm elections and historically, The party who is out of power usually does well, especially if it's the sixth year of a president's term in office.
00:16:29.000And you would expect the Democrats to be talking about inflation nonstop, and they're not.
00:16:35.000You look at this clown car of candidates that they're running this time around, where you essentially have three different types of people.
00:16:42.000You have the guy in Maine, Plattner, who left, Swalwell, and all the other guys who drive around.
00:17:05.000Well, then you got the theater kids who couldn't cut it to make the cast a glee.
00:17:09.000The woman in Michigan and the guy that she's running against, and the guy in Texas who's going to need at least four out of the six genders to vote for him to win that election.
00:17:19.000And then you have the DSA, where they want to get rid of the borders, they want to get rid of the cops, they want to get rid of the prisons, they want to give sex change operations to everyone in Guatemala.
00:17:29.000And you say to yourself, this, despite what history tells us, the Republicans might have a chance in this election because the Democrats have just nominated the freak shows.
00:17:40.000Yeah, you listed a couple of them, but John, tell us a little bit about Barbara Ferrer in LA.
00:17:44.000I mean, the COVID figure in LA County.
00:18:00.000And whatever the worst advice is that you could give, Count on this woman to give it.
00:18:06.000Now we have an environmental disaster going on in Boyle Heights where there was a chemical fire in a building where the solar panels were on fire and it lasted for weeks.
00:18:16.000Chemical smoke was being blown into the neighborhood.
00:18:19.000And she goes on TV in a white lab coat and tells all these people who live there it's perfectly healthy to breathe in the smoke.
00:18:28.000These people have their lungs filled with fluids, they're bleeding from the nose.
00:18:32.000Wouldn't the people in Philip Morris lie to you?
00:19:12.000You know, ideological, or are these people simply terrible at their jobs, or is it just maybe a combination of the two?
00:19:18.000I think it's actually a big combination of the two, and it's one of those chicken or the egg situations.
00:19:23.000I mean, if you look historically at all the different communist movements, it doesn't matter which one you look at Cambodia, Soviet Union, doesn't matter.
00:19:29.000And you go grab a hundred of those people, a hundred of the committed communists, it's going to be a conga line of degenerates, felons, and freaks, and drug addicts, and morons, and usually violent criminals.
00:19:54.000You're generally going to have decent people, family values, that kind of a thing, pay their bills.
00:20:00.000If you grab 100 communists, it's going to be 100 degenerate freaks.
00:20:05.000And so, if that's the pool you're selecting your candidates from, whether it's Graham Platner or anything else, that's going to happen a lot.
00:20:13.000I said this when Graham Platner, all that stuff came down with the Nazi tattoo and whatnot.
00:20:17.000Graham Platner is the future of the Democrat Party.
00:20:20.000The Democrat primary voter has become a rabbit animal who only wants to hurt Donald Trump.
00:21:15.000I can't imagine, but maybe that's the case.
00:21:18.000Well, they're not picking people who are authentic, they're picking people who are playing the role.
00:21:23.000They're playing the role of a blue collar white guy.
00:21:25.000I mean, even the storyline about his background as being someone who provides oysters to restaurants turned out to be fake.
00:21:34.000He had one client, and the client was his mother, and that was it.
00:21:38.000Yet you look at these biographies that were all written about this guy, and you think he's out on the boat every single day trying to come back with oysters so he can pay his rent.
00:21:49.000Because, like I said before, a lot of these are theater kids, a lot of these are people who are playing a role that they think they need to play.
00:21:58.000To win the election, it's why you get all these fake accents.
00:22:01.000I mean, we saw that, I guess, originally with Hillary going into the black churches with the Amos and Andy Droll.
00:22:07.000But that's, look at the woman in Michigan now.
00:22:10.000Look at how she speaks today compared to how she spoke before on video.
00:22:26.000Like, I think I'd get a hard time, like, if I went to, like, you know, a Latino community, like, hey, Meng, I think you can vote for me, Meng.
00:22:33.000Like, yeah, I think they'd give you a hard time.
00:22:34.000And yet, like, They're literally doing it.
00:22:36.000Like it's an SNL skit back from the funny days of SNL, but it's like playing out in real time.
00:22:42.000Well, it's because of the different groups of freaks that make up the Democrat Party now.
00:23:06.000And that was the one time I ever dropped a suit and tie and put on a pair of jeans on advice of some guys who work for the campaign.
00:23:13.000I felt, and I own jeans, obviously, but I felt so dishonest and dirty because I changed what I normally wore to go meet with a specific group of people.
00:23:23.000And I came back and I told my guys, I'm never doing that again.
00:23:26.000It's going to be a suit and tie every time.
00:23:28.000But that's how Democrats campaign now because you have to appeal to the LGBTQ freaks and the climate communists and, of course, the black racists.
00:23:37.000You're going to have to use black voice there and talk about hot sauce in your purse.
00:23:40.000And Gavin Newsom's talking about shooting B ball and eating mac and cheese.
00:24:09.000And it was about, How the discrepancy between right and left for the most highly educated but struggling versus the least educated on paper but thriving portions of America.
00:24:23.000And obviously, the college PhDs in underwater basket weaving and gender studies, they're shocked that the world is not being that kind to them and they can't earn a living.
00:24:34.000Meanwhile, the guy that started a trade business and started growing a business and successful never went to college, didn't rack up a half a million dollars of debt for a worthless degree.
00:24:44.000That's the two biggest discrepancies between left and right right now.
00:24:47.000And the level of disdain that the left has for those guys who didn't have those degrees, but objectively on paper are far more successful than the doctoral gender studies person who thinks they're really great, but doesn't have anything to show for it.
00:25:16.000There's been a lot of people who have studied why your dad did much better with Latinos than McCain or Romney or previous Republicans and other ethnic groups as well.
00:25:26.000And I think the secret sauce is he just went and talked to them like they were any other group of people.
00:25:31.000He didn't go in there and do that and pander with the fake accent and pander in other ways.
00:25:36.000My father did not ever have hot sauce in his purse.
00:25:39.000And by the way, for the record, neither did Hillary Clinton, but it didn't stop her from saying it.
00:25:44.000And what made it so ineffective is that everyone knew that she never had hot sauce in her purse.
00:25:49.000So, yeah, listen, my father has sort of a clear agenda, at least for the most part.
00:25:54.000But some Washington Republicans also have a comfort zone, right?
00:25:58.000We can blame the Democrats all we want, but there's plenty of Republicans in D.C. that are almost equally obtrusive to getting this stuff done.
00:26:06.000And the base at times doesn't have a lot of patience, which I understand.
00:26:10.000But what's the biggest threat to you guys each in the next two years?
00:26:16.000Is it Democrats stopping the agenda or Republicans simply watering it down?
00:26:56.000That we have to shed and then replace in order to get what we want.
00:27:01.000I don't, I'm not as angry as other people because I feel like we're closer to an America First agenda than I've ever been in my 45 years on this planet.
00:27:09.000Now, is it ideal if we take a beating in the midterms?
00:27:13.000And we may, you know, history says we're going to.
00:27:34.000I think our biggest threat right now, long term, if I have to look towards something like 2028, is keeping the base engaged enough and letting them know that, yeah, there's always going to be mistakes, failures, things we don't get done.
00:28:17.000Is it accountability, lower costs, and visible wins?
00:28:22.000Or we're a reminder ultimately of what happens if and when Democrats get back in power, John?
00:28:31.000Well, I think it's a combination of factors.
00:28:34.000I mean, my biggest fear of what's going to happen over the next two years is what happens to elected Republicans when your dad leaves.
00:28:42.000Because there's a lot of them right now who are there who vote the right way and say the right things, but they know that, you know, there's someone watching over them.
00:28:52.000And if they get out of line or they do something stupid or they do something they shouldn't be doing, the phone's going to ring and they're going to get reamed and they're going to be brought back to sanity.
00:29:02.000And while I think we have a number of candidates who would be excellent to come into the White House after your dad, will they have the same ability that he has to keep these people honest?
00:29:14.000Because this is a fight that just never ends.
00:29:20.000And it's got to be a near impossible job to do because when a lot of these people began their careers, they began as Bush Republicans, as establishment Republicans, some of them you might even call Rockefeller Republicans.
00:29:32.000And your dad demonstrated that if you want to win a national election, This is the way to do it.
00:29:40.000It's going to be very difficult to find someone to replace him who has that ability because the gravitational pull in Washington is going to be to go back to those Bush years for a lot of these people.
00:29:52.000And it's not just even the willingness, it's the ability to do it, the willingness to actually get out there and take an unpopular approach with your people.
00:30:00.000I find what's been interesting about politics, which was very different than business once we got into this, was seeing people who could campaign against something, against people who are trying to throw them in jail forever.
00:30:09.000And then they get in those institutions.
00:30:25.000Or I shouldn't say, I'm preparing myself for a post Donald Trump GOP.
00:30:30.000The Democrats really suffered post Barack Obama because, as much as I may despise the man, he's wildly charismatic and he captured, you know, won two elections.
00:30:39.000And after him, there was a vacuum there.
00:30:41.000When you have a guy like that, not every president is a guy like that.
00:30:45.000But when you have a guy like that and he is the top dog for a while and then he leaves, sometimes you look around and go, head coach is gone.
00:30:57.000Donald Trump's been the central figure.
00:30:59.000I mean, it's really wild to say this on planet Earth for a decade.
00:31:03.000On planet Earth, he's been the central figure on the planet.
00:31:06.000What happens when he's not president anymore?
00:31:08.000He's not going to be president anymore in two and a half years.
00:31:11.000And the GOP and the GOP voter has to look around and try to forge ahead.
00:31:15.000I think there'll be some growing pains there.
00:31:17.000But to your point about people getting there and they don't want to drain the swamp, I've used this example before.
00:31:23.000If you're a peasant in feudal times and you hate the castle and you hate the people in the castle and they're eating good and you eat crap food, And their beds are comfortable, and your bed sucks.
00:31:32.000And then one day you get invited in to be part of the castle, and your bed all of a sudden is really comfy, and the turkey's hot, and life is good.
00:31:54.000These guys were on some sort of state council, unpaid for decades, and now they're playing in the big leagues, and they just want to stay in the big leagues.
00:32:11.000But John, you're sort of, let's call it our California translator.
00:32:18.000Where does Gavin Newsom stand right now?
00:32:21.000What's the state of the San Francisco political machine?
00:32:25.000And how much worse can it get for LA under Karen Bass?
00:32:29.000Well, he's in trouble because of the condition here in North Korea of what we deal with, with homelessness and retail theft, of the bullet train, our Budget being upside down.
00:32:40.000He can't run on the platform of make the United States like California because no one is going to sign up for that, even in a Democratic primary.
00:32:50.000What I think he's going to try to do is he is going to try to present himself as the Democrat who can bridge the divide within the party.
00:32:59.000He's the guy who can talk to the DSA, he's the guy who can represent the establishment, he's the guy that can be all things to all people.
00:33:07.000But I think for Gavin Newsom, he's in big trouble.
00:33:11.000Because the map that the Democratic Party just came out with for the next presidential election put South Carolina first.
00:33:18.000And they put big states like Virginia near the top and Michigan near the top.
00:33:24.000And you look at those Democratic primary electorates and you go, okay, Black voters are going to have a real say in who wins these primaries.
00:33:32.000And Kamala Harris now looks like she's going to run for president again.
00:33:37.000Well, if she's consolidating the Black support in the Democratic primaries, I don't see who beats her in South Carolina.
00:33:45.000I don't see who beats her in Virginia.
00:33:47.000I don't see who beats her in Michigan.
00:33:49.000And if you're Gavin Newsom and you're going up against her and you're trying to get those Democratic establishment voters and donors to get behind you, I don't see where that lane exists.
00:34:02.000Those two have known each other for a very long time and they're frenemies.
00:34:06.000They don't really like each other that much, but they've never gone directly against each other.
00:34:12.000When those two directly go against each other, I think she is going to slice and dice him like a piece of chicken at Benny Hannah's because she can say, What an awful basket case California is under his leadership.
00:34:24.000And she can say it with credibility that the other candidates don't have.
00:34:28.000And if you're Gavin Newsom and you have the black woman with the black support behind her telling the world what an awful governor you were, I don't see how you get around that.
00:34:38.000John, if I may, because I don't disagree obviously with anything you just said, but I do question this part of it.
00:34:45.000What about her horrid grading personality?
00:34:47.000And I mentioned that because it killed her last election.
00:34:50.000Remember when she jumped in, of course.
00:34:52.000Black woman, she was immediately treated by the media as if she was the second coming of Christ.
00:34:59.000And she immediately nosedived as soon as people started hearing her talk.
00:35:03.000She was not able to gain any traction.
00:35:14.000Well, that's why I was surprised, though, because I was like, when I heard they were going to redo their sort of primary map, I was like, oh, this is the way they actually screw Kamala Harris.
00:35:26.000To prevent it because of those flaws that you talk about, Jesse.
00:35:29.000But it turns out they actually set it up to seemingly make it better for her because you build that momentum in those early states where the black vote's going to matter more than other states later on.
00:35:38.000The momentum is a big deal in politics.
00:35:41.000Well, and you look at her opponents in the race.
00:35:43.000She's going to be running against Newsom, Pritzker, AOC.
00:35:47.000So, yeah, she may have an awful personality, but all she needs to do is be the tallest building in Omaha.
00:35:56.000Karen Bass now is saying that she takes responsibility for homelessness and then manages to discover a long list of other people responsible for it.
00:36:07.000At what point does progressive governance stop being an ideology and become really a public health violation, guys?
00:36:17.000The state of our cities actually is one of the things that genuinely saddens me.
00:36:21.000I love the country, I love being out in the wild, but I love cities too.
00:37:56.000Everyone else is sort of, whether it be pricing or otherwise, just sort of forced to be locked in there.
00:38:02.000They've been in their home for 20 years.
00:38:04.000If they sold it, they may not be able to get something quite as good somewhere else at this point.
00:38:08.000Does that migratory trend stop at this point or does it keep going?
00:38:13.000I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.
00:38:15.000Now, AI is going to be the dominant industry in the country for quite some time.
00:38:19.000So maybe at some point in the future, that will reverse it.
00:38:23.000But just think about this for a second.
00:38:25.000We're going to lose between three and five congressional seats in the next census, which means our population is going down dramatically.
00:38:33.000Yet there are more people living on the streets.
00:38:35.000Shouldn't there be more houses available, more apartments available, more condos available with all the people who are moving out?
00:38:43.000The fact of the matter is, we don't have a housing problem in California that's causing people to live on the street.
00:38:50.000We have a permissive attitude about drugs where we tolerate people using specifically meth and fentanyl.
00:38:58.000That is why people are living on the streets.
00:39:00.000And as bad as Karen Bass is, and she is awful, it goes all the way to the top to Gavin Newsom because it's the state that sets the rules when it comes to drugs.
00:39:10.000It's the state that tells the cops to look the other way when people are using drugs in public.
00:39:15.000And that is why we have the encampments, that is why we have the number of people living on the streets, and they all refuse to acknowledge reality.
00:39:23.000And unless and until they acknowledge reality, the problem is going to get worse and people are going to continue to flee the state because why do you want to live in an insane asylum like this when you don't have to?
00:39:44.000Do you know how hard you have to work to make a place that beautiful unlivable?
00:39:48.000It actually takes an effort to make a place that gorgeous unlivable, and yet Democrats are capable of doing it.
00:39:55.000And I don't think that's good for the country I love, that California is going to continue to descend into hell.
00:40:01.000I think that's actually terrible that we've taken our largest, most prosperous, most beautiful state and we've allowed it to decay the way it is.
00:40:08.000As much as I love Texas, I live in Texas.
00:40:10.000I don't want the whole country to have to move to Texas in order to have some level of freedom or Florida in order to have some level of cleanliness and safety in society.
00:40:19.000As a young mother should be able to take her two children to a public park in Los Angeles the same way she can in rural Texas.
00:40:27.000But that seems so far away from reality now.
00:40:32.000It's difficult to see how it changes without something drastic that nobody wants to talk about.
00:40:37.000And I'm talking about the federal government stepping in, troops in the streets.
00:40:41.000I mean, the kind of ugly stuff no one wants.
00:40:44.000It's hard to see it turning around in these places without that.
00:41:11.000Is it across the board or is it like moderate, reasonable people who can be swayed and the conservatives who are actually leaving, making it harder to ever make gains for the Republican side of things in California ever again, despite, again, the catastrophe that's happening?
00:41:25.000Well, I'll tell you this that I don't have all the poll numbers on it, but I've seen enough over the years, especially from internal groups like Texas Public Policy Foundation.
00:41:33.000They do really sharp work here in Texas.
00:41:36.000And you know, everyone loves to complain about Californians.
00:41:38.000You know, in Montana, there's bumper stickers, keep Montana beautiful, put a Californian on the bus.
00:42:03.000But when I find out somebody, 20 people from California moved to Texas, I tell myself, great, 15 of them are Republicans and we're just fortifying the state.
00:42:13.000So, guys, socialism keeps getting repackaged for young voters like it's a new app instead of an old catastrophe.
00:42:20.000Jesse, why does it still sound fresh to people with smartphones, private property, their $7 Starbucks latte, and everything else we enjoy in a free country?
00:42:32.000How do these anti capitalists, essentially, not understand the hypocrisy that they're living themselves?
00:42:39.000Roughly 99% of the knowledge I've gained on my 45 years about communism has come from reading books and the things I had to consume.
00:42:47.000After I got done with a 12 year government education.
00:42:50.000When you're in school systems now, you will learn, of course, about the horrors of America and the genocide of the Native Americans.
00:42:57.000You'll learn about Hitler, of course, and whatnot.
00:43:00.000You never learn about Pates prison in Romania.
00:43:02.000You never learn about the things the Stasi did in East Germany.
00:43:06.000You don't really learn about the Bolsheviks and the secret police in the different regions competing to come up with the most elaborate tortures they can possibly imagine for anyone they can find.
00:43:16.000You don't read about them carving smiles in the face of priests and mass raping the nuns.
00:43:21.000You don't learn any of this in public school.
00:43:24.000And so, by the time you're done with public school, you move right on to a $50,000 a year education that your Republican parents buy for you.
00:43:32.000And there, you really learn how bad America sucks and you learn how bad Republicans suck.
00:43:36.000But no one tells you about Mao's love of knee breaking, watching people shatter their knees by bending them the other way.
00:43:44.000So, all you know is when you get out, you have a crappy apartment, a crappy job at Starbucks, you can't afford the rent, you can't afford anything else.
00:43:51.000And some goober like Mamdani comes along and tells you he's going to lower the rent.
00:43:56.000Yeah, you're 25 years old and you might have a fancy college degree, but you're effectively the stupidest person on earth because no one's ever told you the truth about anything.
00:44:05.000I think it's two different groups of people.
00:44:08.000One is in American history, kids always expected to do 50% better than their parents.
00:44:15.000And we had a very upwardly mobile society.
00:44:18.000And now you have a lot of people who have a lot of useless college degrees, who have a lot of debt.
00:44:24.000Who look at their parents living in a nice four bedroom home with a pool and a yard and a couple of cars and the ability to go on vacation a few times a year.
00:44:33.000And they feel that they'll never experience that life and that they're entitled to it.
00:44:39.000And because they live in blue states like California, where it costs a fortune to buy a house, it's just not going to happen.
00:44:45.000So you have a group of people who are going around and telling them if you vote for me, all of these things that you know you're entitled to.
00:44:54.000You will get, and it's the boomers and it's the billionaires and it's the wealthy that are preventing you from having what all of us know you are entitled to.
00:45:06.000So vote for us and we'll give it to you.
00:45:09.000And I think that that is a compelling argument for a lot of them.
00:45:12.000The other thing is when you look at these Democratic primaries where there's a DSA candidate versus, let's call them a traditional Democrat, all the Democrats do, all the traditional Democrats do is use your dad as the central villain in every story.
00:45:28.000All they talk about is how they're going to stop Trump from U.S. Senate to governor to dog catcher.
00:45:35.000It doesn't matter what office you're talking about.
00:45:39.000They don't tell you what they're going to do for you.
00:45:41.000They just tell you how much they hate Donald Trump.
00:45:44.000The DSA candidates believe in crazy ideas, but they're perfectly willing to tell you what they stand for.
00:45:52.000So in those primaries, they have a monopoly on making arguments in terms of what they say they're going to do for their constituents, for their voters.
00:46:02.000And I think that the Democrats have given them this opportunity to eat their lunch.
00:46:11.000I mean, both of you guys work in a business where, you know, the audience often spots the real story before the institutional press does, or maybe the institutional press just simply neglects it because it's not convenient for the narrative.
00:46:22.000You know, what does talk radio understand about the country that perhaps the regime media doesn't?
00:46:29.000Speaking just for myself on this one, you don't talk radio isn't near as fancy as people may think it is.
00:46:36.000You know, I'm happy the show is as big as it is and whatnot, but, you know, I don't.
00:46:40.000I don't live in New York City in a penthouse.
00:46:45.000I live a very normal life and I'm surrounded by very normal people.
00:46:48.000I'm surrounded by mechanics and plumbers and an RVG general manager and normal, just normal people.
00:46:55.000And because I'm not in a New York City penthouse and taking private cars everywhere, you have a better understanding of what normal people are going through.
00:47:05.000When I gather with my friends, I sit and I listen and you find out what issues.
00:47:11.000I have all kinds of issues I'm majorly passionate about politically, and they don't land at all with my normie friends.
00:47:16.000And my normie friends are the ones who decide elections.
00:47:19.000I'll be super mad about something, some scandal, and I'll sit down and bring it up, and they've never even heard of it before.
00:47:25.000They're mad because Aiden, Jaden, and Braden graduated college a year ago, and he has 500 resumes, and he can't get a call back.
00:47:32.000And then the other one will piggyback on that.
00:47:33.000Yeah, my daughter's going through the same thing.
00:47:35.000No one gives a crap about my pet issue.
00:47:37.000So you learn what issues are actually mattering for people.
00:47:40.000Yeah, I think I've got the same thing, which is like, you know, my outdoor.
00:47:43.000Stuff, whether it's hunting, fishing, shooting, all that stuff.
00:47:45.000Like, my friends on the weekend are like just, you know, good, proper, like, redneck Americans.
00:47:49.000And so they're like, well, how does this guy, son of a billionaire from New York City, how does he get it?
00:47:52.000I'm like, I actually like talk to these people, which is shocking to, you know, even people in Congress who are there to represent exactly those people, but have never had a conversation with them.
00:48:02.000But, you know, John, what's your take?
00:48:05.000The audience can tell when they're being lied to.
00:48:07.000They can tell when someone is not authentic.
00:48:10.000So, for example, all of these NGOs that are stealing money.
00:48:16.000Nick Shirley and others are really doing a good job at finding all of this corruption.
00:48:21.000The audience, at least here in Los Angeles and San Francisco, that I talk to every day, they've been emailing me about that and calling in about that for some time because they live in these communities and they know no one's going into these offices.
00:48:51.000And eventually, the mainstream media and others catch on to this.
00:48:55.000And hopefully, at some point, the authorities catch on to it as well.
00:48:59.000But for the talk radio audience, this is something that we have been talking about for quite some time.
00:49:04.000The same thing with the fire aid, all the money that's supposed to go to the fire victims that's being stolen by these same NGOs.
00:49:11.000And the people in the government don't know that the people on the ground, the boots on the ground, the people out in the trenches are aware of all of this.
00:49:20.000But They know because it's their lived experience.
00:49:38.000I mean, you know, conservative media can also kind of become its own bubble as well.
00:49:42.000I mean, what do you think, you know, again, each of you, you know, what's the one thing your audience doesn't enjoy hearing, but you tell them anyway because it's actually true?
00:49:52.000And, you know, sort of which one of it, you know, which one of you gets more hate mail about it because of it?
00:49:59.000I'll tell you something people don't like, and it's really universal that nobody likes to hear this.
00:50:15.000Like, nobody wants to hear that, even if you have gotten fat.
00:50:18.000This is the exact conversation I had with my parents at one point in time.
00:50:20.000My mom told me how handsome I was, and my dad basically called me a disgusting wad of chewed up bubble gum that needs to get back into the gym.
00:50:26.000Well, my dad's Donald Trump, so he usually doesn't pull punches that way.
00:50:29.000So when I'm a little chunky, he calls it.
00:50:39.000If you give somebody a hard dose of reality, like I was talking about the midterms the other day, and I said, Look, the headwinds are always against the party in power.
00:50:48.000If gas prices remain fairly high, it's going to hurt us even worse.
00:50:52.000We are facing headwinds, and I'm not going to sit here and promise you that because Democrats are crazy, we're going to sweep through the House of Representatives because that would be a lie.
00:51:00.000I got all kinds of people emailing in all the stupid stuff.
00:51:25.000The gas price, like, I get who I am, I get where I come from.
00:51:28.000I get, you know, I drive a large truck.
00:51:30.000You know, when I spent 150 bucks at the pump, you know, last week filling up, I was like, eh, that's not ideal because if I'm pissed off, you know, If gas was even higher, it's not going to change my habits.
00:51:45.000I'm not going to be like, hey, I'm not going to the cabin this weekend to save gas prices.
00:51:48.000But if I'm pissed off, like the average American's going to be, you know, pretty upset about it.
00:51:55.000Well, I'm an Angel fan, so I'm used to disappointment.
00:51:58.000But my audience hates it when we talk about all the failures that are going on in the state and they want to hear that things are going to get better.
00:52:06.000They want to hear that California is going to be safe again, that the homeless encampments are going to go away, that we're going to be able to go back to living life like we used to.
00:52:17.000And I can't say that because it's just not true.
00:52:24.000And it's not going to happen until people start voting differently.
00:52:28.000The people who are in charge are not going to get better.
00:52:31.000They're not going to see the error in their ways.
00:52:33.000They're not going to try something new.
00:52:35.000They're not going to try something different.
00:52:37.000Unless and until the people of California vote differently, we're going to have to live with the same misery that we deal with on a daily basis.
00:52:46.000And if you're someone who remembers how great it used to be, And how wonderful and beautiful the state was, and what we live with today, you don't want to think that it's going to be like this forever, or God forbid it's going to get worse.
00:53:00.000You want to hear that there are brighter days ahead.
00:53:04.000And I can't say that because I don't see that happening anytime soon, unfortunately.
00:53:09.000Yeah, I was just doing another interview talking about how jokes and mockery, both of which you guys use quite often on your shows, are really more effective than a million policy arguments and white papers.
00:53:48.000It's very rare you can tune in to anything that actually makes you laugh.
00:53:52.000Maybe stop and talk about pizza for five minutes so I can stop feeling terrible about the fact that communists are trying to destroy the country.
00:54:00.000Maybe call Pete Buttigieg the rear admiral.
00:54:03.000Take a moment and give somebody a moment of levity because they're sitting in traffic, they're mowing the lawn, they're working construction, and you're on the radio walking through their day with them.
