00:10:56.000Twice as many durable medical equipment suppliers, like those two folks who just put in jail, thank goodness, twice as many in Florida as McDonald's.

00:12:00.000A shell company bills the government for a wheelchair, a brace, a catheter, and nothing ever arrives.

00:12:46.000Last month, CMS finalized a rule ending federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and surgical procedures on minors covered by the rule.
00:12:59.000Something, frankly, that's long overdue.
00:13:07.000New parenting fear unlocked growth hormone deficiency.
00:13:11.000It's a rare condition that affects approximately one in every 3,000 to 10,000 children.
00:13:16.000It is diagnosed more frequently in boys than girls, though it does biologically impact both sexes at similar rates.
00:13:22.000It results in looking much younger than you are, being much shorter than you should be, and if left untreated, it can result in weak muscle structure and disproportionate carrying of weight in your body.
00:13:33.000But now, because Donald Trump and Dr. Oz hate the trans kids so damn much, they're refusing to take the advice of their own scientists and experts, people like Rory Howe, who is the director of financial management for the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services.
00:13:47.000He's got over 15 years of experience in Medicaid and CHIP financial policy and is warning that conditions like growth hormone deficiency will no longer be funded by Medicaid or CHIP because the Trump administration considers it gender affirming care.
00:14:01.000Public servants like Rory worked aggressively to help trans kids in Washington state back in 2024 by approving Medicaid coverage for gender affirming care.
00:14:08.000It goes without saying that this decision should not be political.
00:14:12.000Do we help kids who have hormone conditions?
00:14:15.000This directive is going to affect other childhood ailments like precocious puberty, which is a condition that results in children developing too.
00:14:22.000It's going to leave thousands of kids with preventable, often humiliating hormone related issues.
00:14:27.000We'll no longer have options for common sense, compassionate care.0.71
00:14:31.000Our sweet boy Rory had specifically decided to support gender affirming care for children because doing so is based in sound science.
00:14:38.000And in some cases, it was found that the federal attempt to ban care based on gender violated state equal treatment laws.
00:14:45.000For trans kids, all of this will, of course, be a thousand times worse because, in addition to the very normal, hey, I just don't want to get bullied for looking different because of my hormone imbalance.
00:14:55.000We have gender dysphoria complications.
00:14:57.000Now, Trump and Dr. Oz's goal here seems to be to destroy trans kids, which is some kind of win for Republican adults.0.55
00:15:07.000Study after study has shown that transgender people and children with growth hormone deficiency or precocious puberty who were able to access gender affirming care as teenagers had lower levels of depression, less anxiety as adults, and it dramatically reduced the risk of suicide.
00:15:22.000I just want to make sure as Trump and Dr. Oz roll out their new rules and sell this new legislation to the American public that you see it for what it is.

00:15:49.000They will face more bullying and potentially face catastrophic developmental issues because Dr. Oz wants to be a grifter and Trump is cruel.

00:16:03.000Question an irreversible intervention for a child.
00:16:15.000Ask for evidence, and suddenly, evidence is violence.
00:16:19.000Adults have an obligation to protect children precisely when a political movement wants them rushed into decisions they cannot possibly understand, and it would be a disaster for the rest of their lives.
00:16:33.000The taxpayer should not be forced to bankroll an ideology.
00:16:37.000And a child should not become the victim of a woke adult parent's political fashion.
00:16:45.000The people demanding absolute certainty from everyone else suddenly become very uncomfortable with uncertainty when the intervention is irreversible.
00:16:55.000They will tell you a 10 year old can make a life altering decision, but a parent asking for another opinion is dangerous.
00:17:04.000They will tell you the science is settled, then attack someone who asks to see the evidence.
00:17:09.000They will tell you the treatment is essential, then refuse to explain why taxpayers in every state must finance it.
00:17:20.000That's politics commanding and commandeering medicine.
00:17:24.000And as we'll discuss in a moment, they tell us these hormones are safe.
00:17:29.000But then, in the same breath, they say hormonal imbalance should, apparently, absolve you of literal murder, as we saw in the Lindsey Clancy case.
00:17:39.000Protect the child, protect the patient, protect the taxpayer.
00:18:37.000Ronnie talked a lot about how managing those deliberations was harder than her work as a fifth grade teacher, and they confirmed there was one holdout juror.
00:19:56.000And then he said, But I'm still not going to say that she's not guilty by reason of insanity.
00:20:02.000I'm not sure if rogue is the right word, Sue, but every one of us, in the hours of a frustration, would get up and walk the room because you just couldn't sit anymore.

00:21:31.000I posted about that over the weekend because, frankly, civilization survived because one person's willing to say no when every social pressure on the room says yes.

00:23:47.000And I'll tell you, I have to give New York a whole lot of praise because they started that, you call it demolition.
00:23:55.000The demolition had taken place, but you call it demolition.
00:23:59.000They had the best demolition contractors anywhere in the world.

00:24:05.000And I've never seen such an unbelievable mass of steel and, unfortunately, bodies and everything you can imagine.
00:24:13.000The job they did on cleaning up the site, they wanted to do it fast.
00:24:19.000And I don't think there's any other place in the world that could have done the job that was done by the people, the construction workers, demolition experts, the police, the military.
00:24:30.000Nobody could have done the job that was done on getting it started.
00:24:34.000And the first thing to get it started, they had to clean it up.
00:24:37.000And this was a, it looked like it was a mile high.
00:24:41.000The rubble looked like it was a mile high.
00:24:46.000When we see this deal, we're reminded that no matter what threat or challenge comes our way, America will fight, America will endure, and America will prevail.
00:24:56.000And nothing can keep our country down, and our country is stronger today than it's ever been before.
00:25:01.000That is what all these stories are really about, especially on the 25th anniversary of 9 11.
00:25:08.000Remember the victims instead of making excuses for evil.
00:25:12.000Steel from the World Trade Center was twisted, burned, buried, and carried away.
00:25:18.000But it also became part of the memory of the men and women who ran towards danger when everybody else was running out.
00:25:28.000Firefighters climbing, police officers directing strangers, construction workers.
00:25:33.000Arriving afterwards and staying until the work was done.
00:25:36.000That instinct built the country long before September 11th.
00:25:40.000It crossed rivers, raised factories, drilled wells, laid track, and turned towns nobody in Washington had ever heard of into the industrial arsenal of democracy.
00:25:53.000A country has to decide what it's willing to protect.
00:25:57.000A nation with no boundaries is not compassionate.
00:26:01.000A government with no audits, Is not generous.
00:26:05.000A market with no reciprocity is not free.
00:26:08.000And a justice system with no room for conscience is not justice.
00:26:13.000Government does not prove it cares by saying yes to everybody who wants something.
00:26:22.000But leadership is knowing yes protects the citizen, and which no protects the citizen.
00:26:30.000That is how you protect a country, not with another slogan, but with tough decisions.
