00:00:00.000 Jason Kidd, we did a story on this guy a week and a half ago, not that Jason Kidd,
00:00:04.140 it's the Chipotle COO Jason Kidd, apparently they've hired a PR firm and his name is everywhere
00:00:08.720 lately, former Taco Bell executive, spends his days taste testing food and visiting locations
00:00:15.700 weekly, a role he calls his dream job, his advice for finding yours, don't wait for the perfect
00:00:21.780 opportunity, just say yes. Even to jobs that don't sound easy or exciting, do the job that someone
00:00:27.820 else doesn't want to do. He said, take the opportunity, move, be uncomfortable. Early in
00:00:33.800 his career, Kidd volunteered for management training programs that involved 4 a.m. closing
00:00:39.500 and overnight shifts while peers worked mid-shift. He finished faster and was promoted fast first,
00:00:47.000 not because he was the smartest, but because he gained the most experience the fastest
00:00:51.020 and saw how every part of the operation worked. Kidd also stresses strong communication with
00:00:57.700 the start saying owning outcomes and giving good feedback is one of the four traits he looks for
00:01:03.260 when promoting workers so i'll give you a story i used to work at valley total fitness for a guy
00:01:08.040 named robbie solomon i know his number till uh till today i can recite his i'm not going to give
00:01:12.760 it but imagine if i tell people go text robbie real quick robbie photos start blowing up 7 000
00:01:18.120 text messages and i left bally's and i went to start my own startup technology company we were
00:01:25.440 selling personal profit portals and i was doing that for about a year well guess what a year later
00:01:29.940 i'm in debt 49 000 i lose everything and i come back and i say robbie i need a job i go from being
00:01:37.460 a superstar in the company coming up who's going to be a gm supervisor all that stuff he says the
00:01:42.760 only job opening i have for you buddy is opening a hollywood's club i said yeah no problem what
00:01:48.680 times does a club open he said well you open a club at four o'clock i said yeah four p.m is great
00:01:53.900 He says, you open a club at 4 a.m.
00:01:56.040 I said, Robbie.
00:01:57.080 He says, yeah, you just got to be the morning manager.
00:02:00.320 So I said, Robbie, when do people buy?
00:02:02.320 I was one of your top 10 best salespeople nationwide after only being with you for three months at Bally's.
00:02:08.400 Why are you putting a great sales guy in the morning?
00:02:11.260 He says, that's the only job I got for you, buddy.
00:02:12.920 And he would go, buddy, buddy.
00:02:14.080 He was a buddy guy.
00:02:15.060 He would use that word.
00:02:15.840 Hey, pal.
00:02:16.140 Yeah, he was a buddy.
00:02:16.780 You know the pal guy?
00:02:17.580 This guy's a buddy guy.
00:02:19.980 So I go in, and who comes in?
00:02:23.560 When in your life have you gone to buy a membership
00:02:25.660 between 4 to 12 o'clock in the morning?
00:02:28.100 Never. 0.97
00:02:28.440 Who the hell? 0.59
00:02:29.340 That was a shift he gave me. 0.98
00:02:31.080 Okay?
00:02:31.460 So I went in, said yes, no problem, got the job from there.
00:02:35.940 You know, later on, other opportunities, went in.
00:02:38.280 Every time I would get caught reading a book.
00:02:40.260 What are you reading now?
00:02:41.880 You think these business books work?
00:02:43.420 I said, I think they do.
00:02:44.620 He says, look how you ended up back here and you're in debt.
00:02:46.560 These big books don't work.
00:02:47.560 They just write these books to make money.
00:02:50.080 You know, all these guys are scam artists.
00:02:51.620 They just write the books.
00:02:52.340 The way they make their money is by you buying their books,
00:02:54.440 and that's how they make their money.
00:02:55.880 I'm like, look, man, I'm reading the books.
00:02:57.520 I'm on my break.
00:02:58.380 Let me read this book, whether it's Multiple Streams of Income
00:03:00.240 or whatever books I'm, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind,
00:03:02.360 all these weird books, you know, I'm reading.
00:03:05.080 If you can be somebody that's doing that,
00:03:07.500 you're going to get so many opportunities.
00:03:09.020 Yesterday, we're off-site here in Rhode Island.
00:03:11.740 I make a video to send to our guys back at home,
00:03:15.080 and I have the book of the month this month that we're reading.
00:03:17.260 Can you pull up the book called The Goal?
00:03:19.580 The Goal. 1.00
00:03:20.680 D-goal, G-O-A-L. 1.00
00:03:23.080 There you go, the goal. 0.96
00:03:24.920 And can you go to the top right, top left picture of that?
00:03:27.400 Go to the top left.
00:03:28.800 Go to this one.
00:03:30.000 This book right here.
00:03:30.700 You know how many copies this book has sold?
00:03:32.020 Can you go on the picture real quick?
00:03:33.540 Can you zoom in a little bit to the bottom right?
00:03:35.460 Over 10 million copies sold, okay?
00:03:38.520 Eliyahu Goldrath.
00:03:40.000 This book was written many, many years ago.
00:03:41.840 Anybody that reports directly to Jeff Bezos is required to read this book.
00:03:47.080 If you work with Musk or others, you're required to read this book.
00:03:51.020 If you're watching this right now, you've never read this book, go on Amazon and buy this book.
00:03:54.160 I don't own this book.
00:03:54.900 I'm not the author.
00:03:56.020 I recommend every one of our employees this month, the book of the month, is this book here.
00:04:00.900 You'll see why.
00:04:02.360 So what this Jason Kidd, the CEO of Chipotle, is talking about, I fully, fully agree with.
00:04:08.900 There's a reason when people always put their hands up, I'll do it.
00:04:12.280 I'll do it.
00:04:13.100 I'll do it.
00:04:13.660 The level of reliability that individual becomes, the CEOs see that things get done through them, they get more opportunities.
00:04:21.260 So I fully agree with what Jason Kidd is saying here.
00:04:24.640 To all the small business owners, those in sales, those who are executives, those who run their own businesses,
00:04:30.180 next week, July 29th, we're hosting our networking event at our property, show the entire tour of what we have.

00:04:42.020 I can't tell you how many times people say,
00:04:43.480 I want to really see what goes on over there at the company.
00:04:46.000 They think it's just a podcast.
00:04:47.280 Then they come to the headquarters, they get a tour, they're like,
