Valuetainment - “The Rich Get Richer” - Trump's Posts Move Markets…Now They're For SALE

00:00:00.000 Trump is selling millisecond access to his truth social blast, and traders are already lining up.

00:00:07.820 And this story alone is creating a lot of controversy.

00:00:10.980 Some people are saying, what are you doing? What is this all about?

00:00:14.440 So let me read it to you, and Tom, I'll come to you. This is a fortune story.

00:00:16.980 Trump media plans to sell financial institutions millisecond access to posts from prominent truth social accounts,

00:00:23.080 potentially including President Trump's market-moving announcement,

00:00:25.880 and the service-truth PSI would give trading firms an advantage before post

00:00:30.860 about traffic, wars, or other policies, move stocks, bonds, oil prices, and interest rates.

00:00:36.960 Trump has the platform's largest audience with 12.9 million followers

00:00:40.300 and remains Trump's media's biggest shareholder.

00:00:42.920 He's selling expedited privileged access to information about what he is doing as a president.

00:00:48.460 Government ethics expert Kathleen Clark said calling the arrangement

00:00:52.980 and improper exploitation of government power of enriching himself.

00:00:57.240 Trump Media did not say whether presidential posts would be included

00:01:01.120 or what customers would pay.

00:01:02.780 The company said that service would cover the highest-ranking true social accounts

00:01:07.680 and launch next month with customers already committed.

00:01:10.720 Federal conflict of interest laws generally restrict officials from profiting

00:01:14.780 through their public duties, but presidents and vice presidents are exempt.

00:01:19.220 Previous presidents nevertheless divested individual holdings and used blind trust.

00:01:23.960 Trump has retained his business interest.

00:01:26.340 Tom, thoughts?

00:01:27.120 So first of all, I think Fortune is playing games at the headline here because they can.

00:01:30.860 What you just read there is the truth.

00:01:32.840 The president can't sell access to his proclamations only to a certain group of traders who are then going to go trade on the open market.

00:01:42.100 That's usually been done in the past, and it's called Nancy Pelosi.

00:01:45.900 And we all looked at what happened there.

00:01:47.520 And by the way, I'm just speaking of the objective look at her increase in wealth and what she controlled and what others in government like Ro Khanna, what their wealth increased.

00:01:57.980 And so we all know, Pat, that that is something that's a sore point.

00:02:01.260 I mean, Americans are upset that there's two levels that they think there's two systems of justice and they also think there's two systems of economic access.

00:02:08.540 So and there's laws here that prevent this.

00:02:11.480 So the president can't do it to his. But what they're saying, Trump media and the Trump media CEO, which is McGurn, Kevin McGurn, didn't say where the president opposed to being good.

00:02:22.060 They're not. They're going to be the high ranking accounts, but they're going to give traders millisecond asset.

00:02:27.480 And if you don't think traders already have millisecond asset access, they do.

00:02:32.040 they have millisecond access to pr you know you'll have um uh you're good yeah have access to like uh

00:02:41.480 pr like a press release comes out something comes out on a um i'll give you an example if you've

00:02:46.540 ever seen a press release of an earnings report vinnie you have text and then at the bottom you

00:02:50.780 have the charts they'll drop that and then like right when the market closes or after the market

00:02:56.260 closes and these guys get millisecond asset access and we're making off hours trades or

00:03:01.480 pre-market trades for tomorrow but they're already in they already have that because the ai grabs

00:03:06.580 that and grabs that chart immediately and jumps on it so this is what they're saying hey pat would

00:03:11.480 you like a subscription to the data feed and you will have millisecond are you okay with it um i am

00:03:17.660 not okay if this is any of the trump stuff because i think that on the federal guidelines that will

00:03:23.560 come out and be not legal i don't think you can do that with his post but when you're doing this

00:03:28.080 for everybody else man i understand they're going to make money for true social i understand that

00:03:32.540 it's legal but if it's trump's company it's kind of a bad luck in a world where we have been calling

00:03:38.640 nancy pelosi crooked and yet here's another way that like the rich will get richer with

00:03:44.640 proprietary access to data nobody else has any thoughts well the attitude is going to be time

00:03:48.720 like you said if they keep doing it and their side keeps doing it why can't the other side do

00:03:52.980 it and if it's legal pat so be it you know i mean it's the same as when trump was talking with hillary

00:03:57.600 claim when she's like him and his taxes and blah blah he's like i'm taking advantage of the you

00:04:01.860 guys make the laws you guys make the rules if you guys want to change it you don't want me to do it

00:04:06.200 then change it so and again tom with me it's we obviously know you know it can be legal but not

00:04:10.960 a good look exactly so but but at this point he has two years left he's on his way out i think

00:04:15.900 trump has a whole different attitude and whole mindset now he doesn't care anymore and he's

00:04:20.360 trying to make trump's gonna pardon himself his family he thinks he's gonna do self-pardoning

00:04:24.140 can he do it can he pardon himself i didn't just set the tone oh pat how about this one thousand

00:04:29.860 percent i want to pardon everybody i don't care gardner his chef pardon every single every

00:04:37.140 babysitters pardon everybody because if they're doing it why not okay because it's not going to

00:04:42.740 stop once the democrats come in power they're going to do it again so yeah pardon everybody

00:04:46.960 who knows i might need it at one point shout out to vinnie oprah winfrey just you get a pardon you

00:04:53.840 get a pardon so i'm with you on that but i agree with tom man i'm going to be a little bit critical

00:04:58.880 of trump right now this is not a good look for the administration at the same time you don't

00:05:03.780 really know what the truth is whoever wrote this article can't handle the truth not can't handle

00:05:08.960 the truth bingo but as much as i don't think it's a good look here's something that maybe some people

00:05:13.800 can learn you can disagree with some policies of trump but not take your ball and go home and be a

00:05:19.780 baby and not try to quit the team. I'm still on Team America. I'm still on Team Trump. And I can

00:05:25.060 criticize maybe this move isn't ideal. I don't know. Tom said it's not a good look. I agree.

00:05:30.420 But one thing you got to give Trump credit for, the shady Democrats, people, and even Republicans,

00:05:36.400 they're doing stuff behind closed doors, backroom deals. Trump's putting it out in the open. All

00:05:41.660 right, cool. Pay. Pay for play. You know, quit pro quo. And essentially what Trump is honestly

00:05:47.760 enabling people to do at the end of the day says like if wall street could get rich on this you

00:05:52.920 can too ideally main street getting rich off of wall street should be the goal for everyday people

00:05:59.820 growing their wealth but wall street's going to do what wall street's going to do to make that

00:06:05.040 money essentially so not the best look but i i get it i i i don't know man i don't know i i think to

00:06:12.460 me um to me if you do a lot of this stuff you're just going to allow the next guy to do well they

00:06:18.960 did it well he does it well he does kind of like when the kids say well he did this and he had

00:06:23.400 candy and how he does it well then i'm going to do this no that doesn't make it right if we're

00:06:29.080 just going to use that script of them doing it people ask us and say hey we'd love to come to
