00:01:46.140 of over 300 percent four months ago that inflation of five percent now they're at over 300 could be
00:01:52.820 350 all they have is fake news because they have the fake news would rather see us lose the war
00:01:59.680 than win the war, which is really treasonous, which is really treasonous in a certain way.
00:02:04.700 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:02:08.700 Good Tuesday morning. It's so nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update,
00:02:12.320 and we've got two big stories for you. First, the President of the United States of America
00:02:15.960 attacking Iran and also securing the Strait of Hormuz, saying the United States of America
00:02:20.840 will now take total control. What does that mean? We'll explain it. Also, we now know who
00:02:27.180 the replacement is for Lindsey Graham in the interim until they have an election and it is a
00:02:32.940 story that is going to warm your heart as the president of the United States of America well
00:02:37.420 he let it be very well known who he thought should get that position and that's exactly who the
00:02:42.840 governor has appointed now before we get to all that I want to take a moment and I want to give

00:03:14.180 anniversary this milestone also is a time to reflect on our enduring relationship between
00:03:20.100 the u.s and israel they are our greatest allies certainly in the middle east president trump has
00:03:25.480 made it clear that we are standing side by side with israel and that is another reason why i want
00:03:31.440 you to have this pen so that you can stand with israel as there's so much anti-semitism growing
00:03:37.020 and on the rise even in this country now america we just celebrate our 250 year independence day
00:03:44.160 and the international fellowship of christians and jews well now they're turning to god in prayer

00:03:54.540 clarity and national unity so if you're proud to stand with america and israel and you want one of
00:04:00.980 these flag pins i want to give it to you like i said for free it is time that we not be bullied
00:04:06.860 by the anti-semites in this country sign up to receive a free usa israel flag pin right now by
00:04:13.880 going to flagpenifcj.org that's flagpenifcj.org it's the 47 morning update and it starts right
00:04:25.120 now story number one to say that the ball is moving very quickly with president donald trump
00:04:31.200 and what's happening in iran honestly that would be an understatement and i'm going to walk you
00:04:35.660 through what's happened in the last 10 to 12 hours now the white house has announced that
00:04:40.780 The president will address the nation Thursday night, 9 p.m. Eastern,
00:04:45.480 as the conflict with Iran continues to escalate,
00:04:48.480 and the Middle East is now moving closer to a broader regional war
00:04:53.180 after Iran attacks neighboring countries.
00:04:56.440 Now, over the past several days, the situation has changed significantly.
00:05:00.680 President Trump has announced that the United States is reinstating the blockade,
00:05:04.100 targeting Iranian shipping.
00:05:05.840 And he's also declared that America will serve as the, quote,
00:05:08.900 guardians of the Strait of Hormuz following the renewed Iranian attacks and military escalation. 0.89
00:05:15.920 Now, the administration says the blockade is aimed at Iranian vessels while allowing non-Iranian
00:05:20.800 commercial traffic to continue. Trump's proposal, by the way, for a 20 percent security fee on cargo
00:05:26.780 has also sparked international debate. Now, I want you to hear what the president had to say
00:05:33.060 early in the morning on Fox News Channel. Here's what he said about Iran.
00:05:37.780 But we had a deal. What nobody knows, we had a deal. It was a done deal. And then they broke it. They always break it. We've had 10 deals with these people. And so we're just going to hit them very hard. And we're going to keep the straight and we'll probably run it. We'll become the guardian of the straight. Maybe we'll call it the guardian angel of the straight. And we should be reimbursed for that. When we do that, we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are very wealthy. They're on our side. And we can't be expected to do that for nothing, unlike we had for many years.
00:06:07.600 You know, we guarded the strait for 50 years more, and we never got paid for it.
00:06:14.340 They made all the money, and the United States was just, you know, not, they wouldn't, it's amazing.
00:06:20.460 It's, we never made, we guarded it for nothing.
00:06:23.960 And now we're going to guard it, and we're going to get paid for guarding it.
00:06:26.720 It's a lot of money.
00:06:28.020 But we just want to be reimbursed for doing all of this, for putting our people in danger.
00:06:33.300 But we're really not putting people, we're really saving people.
00:06:36.380 remember this they killed 52 000 protesters so far as of this moment the number is 52 000 so who's
00:06:43.720 going to protest and a lot of people are surprised about the protesting that you know that they
00:06:48.320 haven't but nobody's going to protest when they get shot they have ak-47s they have machine guns
00:06:53.860 aimed at people's heads if you move one foot further you get shot and then they'll shot
00:06:58.820 they'll shoot 10 of them and everybody flees who's not going to flee they don't have guns 0.69
00:07:03.300 so uh they're a bad group of people let me just tell you that i don't say that often and i have 0.97
00:07:09.340 to live with that statement they're a bad group of people they've been this way for a long time 0.99
00:07:14.080 and right now they're getting their ass kicked and in in the top form now the president being 0.99
00:07:20.160 blunt there and as that interview happened then things started to escalate on the other side of 0.99
00:07:25.660 what the white house says is going to happen next now we also have been told that there are going to
00:07:31.440 be major attacks that are going to take place tonight on iran the president putting out a tweet
00:07:37.920 saying this the strait of hormuz is open all caps and will remain open with or without iran
00:07:44.980 we are reinstating the iranian blockade so named it because it's only stopping iran ships or
00:07:51.560 customers from entering or leaving all other countries will have fair and open use of the
00:07:56.120 strait the u.s will be from this point forward known as the guardians of the strait of hormuz
00:08:01.480 but as much as a matter of fairness we will be reimbursed at a rate of 20 on all cargo shipped
00:08:08.640 for any and all costs necessary to do the job of providing safety and security to this very
00:08:14.700 volatile section of the world the process and formation will begin immediately thank you for
00:08:21.240 your attention to this matter president donald j trump putting that in a truth social posting
00:08:27.100 earlier now the president also going to make this speech why well the president saying this
00:08:33.060 he called into salem radio and had this to say about what's happening right now but we don't
00:08:38.500 want to talk about that but okay uh we certainly are watching yep i know a lot about that subject
00:08:44.680 i know a lot but i don't think it's appropriate to talk about it right now but we will we will
00:08:50.520 Like, as an example, we're going to hit him very hard tonight. 0.82
00:08:54.900 And we're going to hit him hard tomorrow. 0.98
00:08:57.820 And there's not a damn thing they can do about it. 0.98
00:08:59.940 They have nothing. 0.99
00:09:00.620 They have nothing going other than they have big mouths.
00:09:03.580 Keep it up, Mr. President.
00:09:05.180 It's very good that I did, because I got to know him.
00:09:07.680 The MOU buckle.
00:09:08.980 And it's a lot better.
00:09:09.920 You know, people say I was at least reasonable. 0.98
00:09:12.380 But I got to know him, and they're stone-cold crazy people. 0.99
00:09:15.960 Stone-cold crazy people. 0.99
00:09:18.100 They have big mouths. 1.00
00:09:19.100 We'll hit them very hard tonight, and we're going to hit them hard tomorrow. 1.00
00:09:22.640 And there's not a blanking thing they can do about it. 0.95
00:09:25.660 The U.S. military, again, launching these overwhelming strikes against Iran.
00:09:30.520 The president announcing, and then the big question will be,
00:09:33.220 what will the president say to the nation on Thursday night, 9 o'clock p.m. Eastern?
00:09:37.620 I can promise you we're going to cover it all for you as the president moving into a new phase
00:09:42.820 in a very, very important part of the world.
00:09:46.440 The president also issuing a scathing warning to Iran following the broken military agreement,
00:09:52.980 revealing that the U.S. hammered their equipment overnight and permanently took over the operations,
00:09:59.600 they say security operations, in the Middle East, saying this on Fox News.
00:10:05.420 Their equipment is gone. Their anti-aircraft stuff is gone.
00:10:08.960 We hit them very hard last night. Every time they send a drone, we hit them very hard.
00:10:12.840 but we had a deal what nobody knows we had a deal it was a done deal and then they broke it they
00:10:18.620 always break it we've had 10 deals with these people and so we're just going to hit them very
00:10:23.420 hard and we're going to we're going to keep the uh straight and we'll probably run it we'll become
00:10:28.600 the guardian of the straight maybe we'll call it the guardian angel of the straight and we should
00:10:33.280 be reimbursed for that when we do that we're going to be reimbursed because the other nations are
00:10:37.380 very wealthy they're on our side and we can't be expected to do that for nothing unlike we had for
00:10:42.580 many years now this obviously is moving into a very new phase we now know that the president
00:10:48.080 has formally notified lawmakers that the nation is once again at war with iran giving his
00:10:53.800 administration another 60-day clock to use military in the region without congressional
00:10:58.560 approval so the president working through this quickly and he says he is now saying the mou
00:11:05.000 with iran was a test for iran and they failed it miserably i said watch i guarantee and they never
00:11:11.640 followed it. They are known for this. It was a test. The memorandum of understanding when you're
00:11:17.420 dealing with sleazebags, well, then it's never going to work. So the president making it clear
00:11:22.260 this is a new phase of this war with Iran, notifying Congress and a major announcement
00:11:28.120 coming to the American people in prime time on Thursday night. Next, story number two.
00:11:33.180 There are a lot of people that are looking at South Carolina right now. And the big question
00:11:37.580 was who was going to take over after the passing of Lindsey Graham. We now know who that interim 0.99
00:11:44.440 senator will be. South Carolina, you have a new senator, and the appointment carries not only
00:11:50.440 enormous personal and political, but also historic significance. The governor there,
00:11:56.920 Henry McMaster, has appointed Lindsey Graham's younger sister, yes, to temporarily represent
00:12:04.540 South Carolina in the United States Senate. The appointment was publicly encouraged and supported
00:12:10.240 by President Donald Trump, who argued that selecting Darlene would be a fitting tribute
00:12:15.560 to her brother's extraordinary life and service. I want you to hear the governor announcing that
00:12:22.440 the sister of Lindsey Graham had just been named the U.S. Senator. And that governor, Henry McMaster,
00:12:29.340 said not only is it a move that supported what President Trump had said, but she agreed to serve
00:12:34.520 through tears. Here's the governor, in his own words, making the announcement to the state.
00:12:40.840 Today under the law, it's my duty to, and honor, to name someone to serve in the place
00:12:48.700 of this irresistible man, this irreplaceable man, this extraordinary man for the remainder
00:12:58.720 of his term. Lindsay took care of his little sister and years long departed. It's my honor
00:13:07.400 to ask his little sister, Darlene Graham, to finish his work for him now. And by the way,
00:13:15.000 Darlene, I don't know if I told you, but after we spoke on the phone in the wee hours of Sunday
00:13:20.740 morning, and you agreed to serve through tears earlier, I had wondered what you would say.
00:13:31.580 And I was humbled by your quickness to see the duty that you had to serve. And I called
00:13:42.080 the president afterwards, and he thought it was a great idea. And I'm sure that everyone
00:13:49.240 in here does as well. Darlene, little sister, come forward, please. As you could hear there
00:13:55.180 from the governor, it was a somber but sweet moment. You may not realize that Lindsey Graham's
00:14:01.320 sister was someone that he raised after they lost both of their parents when they were young.
00:14:08.220 Lindsey raised his little sister and eventually even became her legal guardian. He was only in
00:14:14.420 his early 20s attending college and serving in the air force but he took responsibility for keeping
00:14:20.360 their family together that experience not only shaped lindsey graham's life his faith and his
00:14:26.020 commitment to public service but obviously had a massive impact on his little sister now she isn't
00:14:32.720 just lindsey graham's little sister she has virtually been in every aspect and the most
00:14:38.340 important parts of lindsey's life she frequently appeared with him at major political moments
00:14:43.500 including when he launched his presidential campaign.
00:14:46.520 And she's remained one of his closest confidants throughout his entire career.
00:14:50.820 President Trump even made reference to this before Governor McMaster's announcement.
00:14:56.600 Trump urged the governor to appoint the sister as a temporary senator,
00:15:00.880 describing the idea as not only a powerful way to honor Lindsey Graham's memory,
00:15:04.780 but also ensuring South Carolina continued to have full representation in Washington.
00:15:10.520 Senator Tim Scott also supported the appointment as well, being from the same state.
00:15:15.700 Politically, the appointment is also incredibly important at this moment.
00:15:20.620 Why? Because when she arrives, it now allows the Republicans to preserve their 5347 Senate majority.
00:15:28.160 A moment right now where the chamber is dealing with major national security legislation,
00:15:33.600 defense spending presidential nominations and continuing tensions involving Iran and Russia
00:15:40.340 with the president's big speech on Thursday night being at the core of a lot of this
00:15:44.680 Lindsey Graham has been one of the Senate's most influential voices on military affairs foreign
00:15:50.520 policy and judiciary and now his little sister will be there to continue to carry that baton of
00:15:57.700 what Lindsey Graham believed in and to make sure the people of South Carolina have someone
00:16:02.560 representing their state's interests now her appointment is also historic as i mentioned
00:16:07.580 earlier darlene graham becomes the first woman to represent south carolina in the united states
00:16:13.800 senate history it's a remarkable milestone in a state with a long and consequential political
00:16:19.800 history the appointment does not settle the longer political battle over lindsey graham's seat
00:16:25.340 south carolina republicans are scheduled to hold a special primary on august the 11th with a
00:16:31.740 potential runoff later that month. The general election is scheduled for November the 3rd.
00:16:37.200 Now, already there have been several prominent Republicans that are reportedly looking and
00:16:41.980 considering having a campaign, including the lieutenant governor, members of South Carolina's
00:16:47.340 congressional delegation. The eventual Republican nominee is also expected to face a tough fight
00:16:53.960 with the Democratic nominee, Annie Andrews. But what we now know is at least for the next few
00:17:00.060 months, Lindsey Graham will be represented in the United States Senate by his little sister.
00:17:06.020 And I couldn't think of anything more fitting than literally doing exactly what the president said,
00:17:11.680 having this become a reality. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben
