00:00:02.620 Guaranteed human.
00:00:06.280 What's happened to you to take military off the table for Greenland?
00:00:09.880 We'll all see what happens.
00:00:11.200 The military's not on the table.
00:00:13.120 I don't think it'll be necessary.
00:00:14.980 I really don't.
00:00:15.800 Okay.
00:00:16.240 I think people are going to use better judgment.
00:00:18.880 They'll use their best judgment, and I don't think that will not be necessary.
00:00:23.580 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:00:27.320 Good Thursday morning.
00:00:28.280 Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update, and we've got one big story.
00:00:33.140 Donald Trump in Davos doing exactly what the media said was impossible.
00:00:38.360 Get a deal done over Greenland.
00:00:40.460 They said he was going to start World War III.
00:00:42.720 He was going to invade, killing us and people, and that the sanctions were going to destroy the economy.
00:00:49.220 Well, guess what?
00:00:50.020 Sanctions are off the table.
00:00:51.800 A deal has been done that the president says will be for forever.
00:00:55.480 So will they correct the record?
00:00:58.720 We've got all of what they had to say, and we call them out.
00:01:02.160 It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
00:01:05.920 Story number one.
00:01:07.080 President Donald Trump has announced there is a deal.
00:01:10.140 Well, yes, the Democratic Party and the media claiming that Donald Trump was going to invade Greenland, go to war, and just start killing innocent people.
00:01:19.620 Yeah, they were lying to you.
00:01:21.000 It was not actually on the table, and this is exactly what they do every time they have a chance.
00:01:27.080 So what actually happened?
00:01:29.500 Well, the framework for a future Greenland-Arctic deal has been reached, something Democrats and the media also said was not going to happen this week.
00:01:38.120 President Trump announced that after a very, quote-unquote, productive discussion with NATO Secretary General and the U.S. and NATO allies have agreed on a framework for a future deal related to Greenland and the broader Arctic region.
00:01:53.840 Trump described this framework as something that could be a great one for the United States of America and all NATO nations if it is successfully finalized.
00:02:05.080 The president, talking about this deal with CNBC, had this to say.
00:02:10.100 Well, we have a concept of a deal.
00:02:12.200 I think it's going to be a very good deal for the United States, also for them.
00:02:15.360 And we're going to work together on something having to do with the Arctic as a whole, but also Greenland, and it has to do with the security, great security, strong security, and other things.
00:02:27.920 The market, 600 points, getting back a lot of some of the nervousness we had in the last couple of days.
00:02:34.320 The tariffs are off.
00:02:35.300 Nothing happens on February 1st?
00:02:37.140 No, we took that off because it looks like we have pretty much a concept of a deal.
00:02:41.660 A deal of ownership?
00:02:43.060 A deal?
00:02:43.940 Well, it's a little bit complex, but we'll explain it down the line.
00:02:47.720 But the secretary general of NATO and I and some other people were talking, and it's the kind of a deal that I wanted to be able to make.
00:02:55.880 Where does Denmark, did they weigh in on what they want, what they would agree to?
00:03:01.020 Well, I assume they did because he very much represents, he's a strong leader.
00:03:05.840 Mark, you know Mark, Utah.
00:03:07.260 Yeah, and he, I assume he's been speaking to them, he's been speaking to all of them.
00:03:12.180 Are mineral rights involved, is ownership involved?
00:03:15.580 Did the Golden Dome sway people?
00:03:17.460 I don't want to say, I don't want to say yet, but...
00:03:18.860 The Golden Dome was very compelling today when you talked about that.
00:03:21.240 Yeah, yeah, the Golden Dome, and they're going to be involved in the Golden Dome, and they're going to be involved in mineral rights, and so are we.
00:03:28.840 Is, you can't, it's not specific enough to know at this point how long this lasts, how, whether it's...
00:03:36.220 Forever.
00:03:37.220 Forever?
00:03:37.940 It'll be forever.
00:03:39.000 For Greenland at this point.
00:03:41.700 Forever.
00:03:43.040 That's a staggering...
00:03:44.360 That's better than a 99-year...
00:03:45.400 This is, what, two hours after...
00:03:47.380 It's better than the Obama deal with the famous Iran nuclear deal with a nine-year, with a nine-year deal.
00:03:55.880 No, this is forever.
00:03:56.880 Forever, which is exactly what the President of the United States of America wanted to accomplish.
00:04:02.340 Why?
00:04:03.240 Because Russia and China were clearly looking at doing the exact same thing.
00:04:08.400 They wanted to have the reach to be able to come after the United States of America.
00:04:12.740 China had publicly said, back in 2009, and again in 2016, very clearly, that they wanted to have dominance in the Arctic.
00:04:21.560 Now, President Trump confirming the deal he's reached with Europe isn't only Greenland, it's the entire Arctic.
00:04:29.880 Trump's about to go down in history books as squashing our adversaries, and most importantly, their Arctic influence and the race to make sure that America is always safe.
00:04:41.020 Now, you also heard the President there talk about tariffs, and those threats have been withdrawn, something the media, again, was losing their minds over the last 24 hours.
00:04:51.700 And that's just part of the positive outcome from these negotiations.
00:04:55.640 Donald Trump canceling the threat of imposing new tariffs on several European allies that had opposed his previous Greenland approach.
00:05:03.280 This move eased the economic tensions, with key NATO partners that removed the possibility of a near-term trade confrontation tied specifically to the Greenland issue.
00:05:15.780 Again, that's exactly why the President was using these tariffs as a real threat.
00:05:21.080 And then, military force, something that the media lied about.
00:05:25.360 Well, guess what?
00:05:26.240 It has been explicitly ruled out in his address.
00:05:29.800 Donald Trump made it clear that the U.S. would not use military force to acquire Greenland, an announcement that helped reassure international audiences that diplomacy, not aggression, is the path forward in the Trump Doctrine.
00:05:46.000 Take a listen to President Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos and what he had to say when he was asked about taking the military action off the table.
00:05:55.880 What prompted you to take military off the table for Greenland?
00:05:59.800 Thank you, Steve.
00:06:00.500 Thank you, President.
00:06:01.860 Thank you, President.
00:06:02.440 We'll all see what happens.
00:06:03.460 The military's not on the table.
00:06:05.120 I don't think it'll be necessary.
00:06:07.220 I really don't.
00:06:07.940 Okay.
00:06:08.460 I think people are going to use better judgment.
00:06:10.480 They'll use their best judgment.
00:06:13.320 And I don't think that will not be necessary.
00:06:17.620 That will not be necessary.
00:06:19.760 This killing the conspiracy theory by the radical left and also the media that Donald Trump was going to invade a nation and he was going to kill a bunch of innocent people.
00:06:34.460 So let's go back to the very beginning.
00:06:38.100 Donald Trump said he was going to keep America safe.
00:06:41.300 He wanted to make sure that we kept Russia and China out of the Arctic.
00:06:46.020 Trump emphasized that his negotiations and meetings at the World Economic Forum in Davos were constructive.
00:06:51.880 He said officials highlighted that continued talks with NATO and Greenland's partners would focus on peaceful cooperation, the exact opposite of what the media was reporting.
00:07:03.320 And then this was even bigger than Greenland.
00:07:07.000 It was a broader Arctic cooperation.
00:07:10.280 While specifics are still being worked out, the White House said, it was clear the president framed the discussions as involving Arctic security and strategic collaboration with potential benefits for all involved countries if implemented respectfully.
00:07:25.800 So today's developments are truly historic.
00:07:29.600 They're centered on Trump securing a negotiation framework with NATO allies, something that the media said was not possible.
00:07:37.760 Stepping back from the tariff threats, using it as leverage to get the deal done, something that, of course, the media lied about as well.
00:07:45.440 And reaffirming a non-military diplomatic approach towards Greenland.
00:07:50.580 Again, the left of the media said it was going to be World War Three.
00:07:54.440 This represents a shift towards cooperative dialogue on Arctic issues.
00:08:00.040 And as they said at the meeting, de-escalation of the recent tension surrounding the entire topic.
00:08:07.240 Now, this is exactly why Donald Trump is so good at getting these deals done.
00:08:12.600 He shows strength and then he gets the deal done when the best interests of the United States of America.
00:08:19.760 Now, the president isn't done there.
00:08:22.600 Donald Trump is saying it's time to get rid of the U.N. in many ways, even some of what NATO is doing.
00:08:28.940 President Trump in Switzerland saying this about what he wants to create.
00:08:34.400 He wants to create something that's a little bit different, a board of peace.
00:08:39.480 And, of course, the media losing their minds over this new idea from President Trump.
00:08:44.240 Everybody wants to be on it.
00:08:46.680 But, yeah, I have some controversial people on it.
00:08:48.840 But these are people that get the job done.
00:08:50.500 These are people that have tremendous influence.
00:08:53.300 And if I put all babies on the board, there wouldn't be very much.
00:08:57.700 So he was invited.
00:08:59.140 He's accepted.
00:08:59.780 Many people have accepted.
00:09:02.380 I think, I don't know of anybody that hasn't accepted.
00:09:05.240 But it's going to be great.
00:09:06.100 I think the Board of Peace will be the most prestigious board ever.
00:09:08.780 And it's going to get a lot of work done that the United Nations should have done.
00:09:12.920 And we'll work with the United Nations.
00:09:14.680 But the Board of Peace is going to be special.
00:09:16.420 We're going to have peace.
00:09:17.380 It started off with Gaza, the Middle East.
00:09:19.520 We've got peace in the Middle East.
00:09:21.460 Tremendous peace in the Middle East.
00:09:22.740 Nobody thought that was possible.
00:09:24.040 And that happened by taking out the Iran nuclear threat.
00:09:28.120 Without that, it could have never happened.
00:09:30.180 But the Board is going to be, I think, really fantastic.
00:09:33.020 And I think it will be the most prestigious board of any board ever in world history.
00:09:38.100 Thank you very much.
00:09:38.800 You hear the President there talking about this.
00:09:41.400 And, again, why are so many people upset about it on the left?
00:09:46.160 It's really for one simple reason.
00:09:48.680 They're no longer in control.
00:09:50.120 The United Nations is all about anarchy and chaos and protecting the bad guys.
00:09:56.260 If you don't believe me, just look at all of the cases where the United Nations has done a horrific job of protecting innocent people.
00:10:06.840 A perfect example of why the President's willing to put together this Board of Peace is because the Security Council, the UN, is basically feckless.
00:10:14.720 They have veto power that protects bad actors.
00:10:19.200 Authoritarian regimes sit on UN councils that are actually meant to police human rights.
00:10:25.220 And if you don't believe me, let me just give you some of the basics of how big of a failure the United Nations has been.
00:10:32.900 Look at the Rwanda genocide back in 94.
00:10:36.220 You had more than 800,000 that were slaughtered in 100 days.
00:10:41.960 What was the UN's response?
00:10:43.400 UN peacekeepers were actually reduced, not reinforced, after the killings began.
00:10:51.760 Repeated warnings from UN Commander General were ignored.
00:10:56.320 And the aftermath was very clear.
00:10:58.780 The UN even later formally admitted failure.
00:11:03.120 But it's a clear example of a catastrophic inaction by the UN.
00:11:08.680 Look at China, 2017 to right now.
00:11:11.900 More than 1 million Muslims have been detained, forced into labor, and have had family separations.
00:11:21.660 Years of delay by the UN before issuing a mild human rights assessment in 2022.
00:11:28.940 But what have they done towards China?
00:11:31.020 Nothing.
00:11:31.920 No sanctions and no binding resolutions.
00:11:35.020 China's Security Council power and economic leverage have muted all actions, in essence, from the United Nations.
00:11:42.860 Look at Syria and the Assad regime and the atrocities from 2011 until he was finally forced out.
00:11:51.200 You had chemical weapons that were used.
00:11:53.400 Mass civilian killings.
00:11:55.520 Torture in prisons.
00:11:57.100 And what was the UN's response?
00:11:59.640 Dozens of Russian and Chinese vetoes blocked all accountability.
00:12:04.920 Investigations even acknowledged crimes were committed.
00:12:09.380 But there was no enforcement.
00:12:11.400 The UN paralysis.
00:12:12.940 When a permanent Security Council member protects an ally, a bad actor, happens almost every time.
00:12:19.240 Look at Myanmar and the ethnic cleansing there that happened from 2016 to 2018.
00:12:25.340 You had mass killings, rape, villages that were burned.
00:12:28.920 More than 800,000 refugees fled to Bangladesh.
00:12:32.900 What was the UN's response?
00:12:34.720 Strong support in a report after the fact.
00:12:39.420 But no prevention and minimal consequences for those involved.
00:12:44.420 Look at Iran and the protest crackdowns.
00:12:47.760 Not just now, but in 2009, 2019, in 2022.
00:12:53.140 And now, protesters killed, tortured.
00:12:56.620 The Internet shut down.
00:12:58.120 And what was the UN's response each and every time?
00:13:01.240 Well, barely even a statement.
00:13:04.180 And a fact-finding mission with no decisive action afterwards.
00:13:08.520 Iran continues to hold seats on the UN bodies.
00:13:11.900 This is another example of just how ineffective the United Nations is.
00:13:18.320 Look at Sudan and the Darfur genocide that started in 2003 is going on right now.
00:13:24.700 Mass killings, ethnic cleansing by the militias.
00:13:29.040 The UN's response?
00:13:30.660 Years of debate before deploying peacemakers.
00:13:33.700 Or peacekeepers, as they call them.
00:13:35.900 And then, you had weak mandates and poor enforcement.
00:13:39.440 Again, corruption.
00:13:40.620 Now, you look at all of that, add in Venezuela, and then look at what happened in the Middle East.
00:13:47.120 One other thing that people don't like to talk about is the Hamas operatives that actually infiltrated dozens of UN-affiliated aid groups in Gaza between 2018 and 2022.
00:13:59.620 They embedded personnel into senior positions to direct humanitarian operations on the ground and ensure that the groups served Hamas, the terrorist organization's interests, and internal security documents even uncovered.
00:14:15.900 All of this by Israeli forces.
00:14:18.120 What did the UN do?
00:14:19.500 Not a damn thing.
00:14:20.560 So, here we are with a president that is saying a couple of different things.
00:14:25.180 One, I'm going to keep America safe at all costs.
00:14:28.340 And that includes dealing with the Arctic.
00:14:30.720 And I'm going to put together a good group of people for peace in the world because the United Nations is, well, worthless.
