00:03:33.200 But one of the things I love about this show is we can take time to explain things that
00:03:38.620 either people may not remember from school or maybe they weren't even taught.
00:03:42.160 And we have so many people that are younger that listen to this show.
00:03:45.840 You used a word describing what was happening in Brazil as totalitarianism unfolding.
00:03:52.060 Let's explain that first and foremost to our listeners.
00:03:55.100 What does that mean?
00:03:56.440 Because there's a lot of words that are thrown out there with socialism and communism and
00:04:00.320 Marxism.
00:04:01.460 So when you say totalitarianism, what are we describing so people understand setting the
00:04:06.500 stage for this big issue?
00:04:08.420 Well, totalitarianism, very simply, is the government having control over your life, having total
00:04:13.700 control over your life, having the power of censorship, the power of arbitrary imprisonment,
00:04:18.480 the power to lock you up, to confiscate your property, to do whatever they wish with you.
00:04:24.700 And sadly, we've seen in many communist nations, communist nations are almost invariably totalitarian
00:04:31.100 nations.
00:04:31.620 And we see that whether it was the Soviet Union and the Gulag, where they locked up anyone who
00:04:37.640 dared stand up against the government, or whether it was Mao and communist China, or whether it
00:04:42.000 was communist Vietnam or communist Cuba, totalitarian governments or oppressive governments where
00:04:47.780 the government has total power over you.
00:04:50.300 And in Brazil, let me explain what's going on.
00:04:54.220 I'm going to give some context because just seeing the headlines, it's hard to know what's
00:04:58.640 happening.
00:04:59.000 So let me give some background.
00:04:59.900 So in 2022, there were elections in Brazil, and Brazil's electoral court granted a man named
00:05:09.080 Alexandre de Moraes, who is the nation's election chief, and he's a Supreme Court justice.
00:05:15.500 They gave him the authority to issue unilateral orders for the removal of online content deemed
00:05:22.280 false or misleading.
00:05:23.960 And this was in the context where Lula, the radical leftist who Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
00:05:31.880 love, was running against conservative President Bolsonaro.
00:05:36.860 And these orders were used to target the supporters of President Bolsonaro.
00:05:43.960 As a court justice, de Moraes had ordered investigations into Bolsonaro and had jailed some of the president's
00:05:52.820 supporters.
00:05:53.140 So this is a battle between what is now the previous president and the current oppressive
00:05:59.280 regime.
00:06:00.920 De Moraes has very strong support from the leftist president today, Lula da Silva.
00:06:07.160 In 2022, Bolsonaro won, and his supporters attacked Brazil's federal government buildings in the
00:06:14.160 capital in Brasilia.
00:06:15.820 After the attack, de Moraes ordered several social media platforms, including X, to block
00:06:23.120 specific accounts that he said had been involved in the planning, saying that the companies
00:06:29.020 would be fined if they failed to comply.
00:06:31.800 Over time, de Moraes ordered more and more X accounts to be blocked, getting court orders
00:06:37.620 to do so.
00:06:39.060 Over time, X refused to comply.
00:06:42.020 And Elon Musk began publicly criticizing de Moraes.
00:06:46.700 De Moraes then opened a full investigation into Elon Musk and into X, focused on, quote,
00:06:54.440 the dissemination of defamatory fake news and obstruction, incitement, and criminal organization.
00:07:00.420 De Moraes was very unhappy that X and Elon Musk were standing up to his orders.
00:07:05.140 After months of noncompliance by X, de Moraes threatened to arrest the company's Brazilian
00:07:12.600 attorney and staff over the continuing defiance of the law.
00:07:17.980 And in response, Elon Musk closed X's office in Brazil and eliminated all the staff.
00:07:24.320 However, Brazilian law requires that any company doing business in Brazil must have legal representation
00:07:33.880 in the country.
00:07:36.100 Therefore, on August 28th, de Moraes ordered X to hire a new attorney to represent it in Brazil
00:07:43.780 within 24 hours.
00:07:44.940 And understand, this attorney that's being ordered to be hired, once he's hired, de Moraes intends
00:07:50.080 to throw the attorney in jail.
00:07:51.340 That's what this is all about.
00:07:52.440 And if X did not hire a new attorney, the site would be blocked.
00:07:57.580 Elon Musk refused to hire an attorney just to have the guy thrown in jail.
00:08:01.560 And de Moraes ordered X blocked.
00:08:04.460 On August 30th, de Moraes ordered internet service providers to block access to X and threatened
00:08:12.960 a daily fine of about $9,000 per day for users who bypass the ban through virtual private
00:08:20.800 networks.
00:08:21.200 And de Moraes also froze Starlink's finances in Brazil.
00:08:26.600 Starlink is SpaceX's satellite internet business.
00:08:29.960 To enforce the suspension against X, de Moraes directed the National Telecommunications Agency
00:08:36.980 to take action.
00:08:38.380 The order will remain into effect until the platform complies with the decisions of the
00:08:44.320 Supreme Federal Court and pays accumulated fines totaling about $3.3 million and appoints
00:08:51.640 a representative in Brazil.
00:08:54.040 De Moraes had also instructed both Apple and Google to remove both X and VPN applications
00:09:00.520 from their virtual stores.
00:09:02.240 But he reversed this decision the same day, citing concerns about potential, quote, unnecessary
00:09:08.740 disruption.
00:09:10.380 So where we are right now, there is no X in Brazil.
00:09:14.640 And this judge is continuing to try to censor any criticism or any disagreement.
00:09:22.440 The most shocking part is the fact that they're saying not just, hey, we're going to kick you
00:09:27.280 out and we're going to shut it down and you can't use it.
00:09:29.900 But they're saying $8,900 a day if you do use it.
00:09:34.720 In Brazil, that is an insane amount of cash in America.
00:09:39.020 But it's really an unbelievable amount of money in Brazil.
00:09:42.980 And understand, that's not directed at Elon Musk.
00:09:45.800 That's directed at an individual Brazilian.
00:09:48.440 They're saying if you just are a citizen of Brazil and you go on to X, they will find you
00:09:53.880 almost $9,000 a day.
00:09:56.660 I go back to the bigger picture here, and that is the warning.
00:10:02.280 And it feels like we're seeing a surge in this type of activity around the world.
00:10:08.620 Is that because when people do things like this and governments do things like this and
00:10:13.500 leaders do things like this, others are like, well, they're doing it.
00:10:15.840 So yeah, maybe I'll take that play out of the playbook.
00:10:18.260 Because it doesn't seem like we're heading the right direction here.

00:10:23.240 And listen, this podcast is dedicated to many things.
00:10:25.800 But front and center is the U.S. Constitution and free speech.
00:10:30.580 And we had a pod a couple of weeks ago that focused on the United Kingdom throwing a British
00:10:37.080 citizen in jail, sentencing him to jail for 20 months for a Facebook post.
00:10:41.680 This is a pattern we're seeing across the globe of government power being used to censor and
00:10:48.900 silence views they don't like.
00:10:51.420 And this is being done.
00:10:52.840 Look, this is the instinct we see in America with Joe Biden, with Kamala Harris, and with
00:10:58.420 congressional Democrats pressuring.
00:11:00.260 We discussed on this podcast a few episodes ago, Mark Zuckerberg's letter explaining that
00:11:06.200 the Biden White House had pressured him to censor views they don't like.
00:11:10.520 This is a pattern.
00:11:11.920 And it's a very dangerous pattern.
00:11:14.040 And the more we see leftists getting away with abusing government power to silence dissent,
00:11:21.660 the worse it gets because it encourages everyone else.
00:11:25.080 And this is ultimately a threat to free speech in America.
00:11:28.580 Let me point out, among other things, X is an American company.
00:11:32.580 Where is the administration?
00:11:34.420 Where is why is Joe Biden not denounce this atrocious violation of free speech?
00:11:40.740 Why has Kamala Harris been utterly silent?
00:11:43.620 Why has the entirety of the executive branch been silent?
00:11:47.320 And the reason is they're happy.
00:11:49.820 They want X banned.
00:11:51.540 And I got to say, I think Kamala Harris wishes she could ban X here because the left today, 1.00

00:12:04.340 More and more Democrats are very happy trying to silence anyone who disagrees with them.

00:12:19.460 And Michael Sellenberger had this to say about the world taking this giant leap forward into totalitarianism in Brazil.

00:12:35.340 The world took a giant leap forward into totalitarianism yesterday as the Brazilian government blocked X,
00:12:42.260 formerly Twitter, and threatened to fine its citizens $8,900 per day if they use it.
00:12:48.060 Brazil's the sixth largest nation by population in the world,
00:12:50.720 and it now joins North Korea, China, and Iran on the list of countries that have banned X.
00:12:55.820 It's the 12th largest economy in the world and a superpower of the global south.
00:12:59.640 It doesn't matter whether or not you care about Brazil.
00:13:02.560 Its totalitarianism is at risk of spreading around the world.
00:13:06.560 And yet neither Joe Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris nor anyone else in the U.S. government
00:13:10.920 has denounced the censorship.
00:13:13.140 That's probably because Biden, Harris, and the Democrats all support the censorship
00:13:17.340 and have been directly funding it for years.
00:13:20.580 Now, of course, there is authentic demand for censorship from within Brazil,
00:13:24.180 and it is ultimately up to the Brazilian people to reverse its nation's descent into totalitarianism.
00:13:30.380 Brazil's powerful, government-funded news media corporations have been urging censorship,
00:13:35.980 in part because it benefits President Lula's ruling Workers' Party and them directly.
00:13:41.340 It's now up to Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco to impeach the Supreme Court justice-turned-dictator,
00:13:46.660 Alexandre de Moraes.
00:13:47.860 At the same time, the Biden administration and Democrats have played an influential role
00:13:53.060 in instigating the censorship in Brazil.
00:13:55.580 The FBI went to Brazil and gave its Supreme Court justices advice on how to censor its population.
00:14:01.420 The U.S. government has been funding many of the NGOs in Brazil that have been demanding
00:14:05.580 censorship since the election of a populist president there in 2018.
00:14:09.720 And when I testified before Congress in May of this year, the Democrats on the committee
00:14:14.820 and their witness all defended Brazil's censorship.
00:14:18.940 And Pacheco yesterday affirmed his support for Moraes.
00:14:22.780 The U.S. government, after the election of the populist president, Jair Bolsonaro, in 2018,
00:14:28.140 funded these pro-censorship organizations which have been demanding censorship.
00:14:32.260 Moraes yesterday openly defended censorship to prevent extremist populist groups from coming
00:14:37.500 to power. As United States Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr noted yesterday,
00:14:43.500 that's a direct violation of the Brazilian Constitution, which explicitly protects political
00:14:48.700 speech. As such, the totalitarian takeover of Brazil is a model for what the Democrats
00:14:53.660 and the legacy news media want for the whole world. Pro-censorship scholars at Stanford and
00:14:58.840 Harvard, Democrats in Congress, and the U.S. news media have long recognized that the First
00:15:03.820 Amendment is an obstacle to their plans. And so they have supported censorship efforts by nations
00:15:09.340 around the world with weaker free speech protections, like Brazil, Britain, Australia,
00:15:14.280 and the European Union. They're looking for them to censor and even block X. We need to grow our
00:15:20.220 global free speech movement because if we don't stop the spread of totalitarianism over there,
00:15:24.280 it will make it harder for us to stop it over here. I urge my Brazilian friends to stay on X. 1.00
00:15:29.540 Everyone knows that it would be extremely difficult for Moraes to enforce his insane decree, much less
00:15:36.320 fairly and equally. Proof of this comes from the fact that the Brazilian government and the ruling
00:15:41.240 Workers' Party are still using X, which means that they are also using VPNs to illegally evade their
00:15:47.580 own ban. Brazil is thus not just a dictatorship, but a lawless one. Its leaders are behaving like
00:15:54.140 the hypocritical pigs in George Orwell's animal farm. Now, the good news is that Brazilian politicians, 1.00
00:16:01.180 including Senator Eduardo Girão, Congressman Marcelo Van Houten, and Vice Governor of Minas Gerais,
00:16:08.140 Mateus Simões, are all resisting the ban and posting on X. I never imagined myself practicing and propagating
00:16:14.940 civil disobedience, said Simões, but censorship cannot be tolerated ever.
00:16:18.900 Senator, there's a lot to unpack there, and there's a lot of accusations, which obviously
00:16:26.360 I think are backed up in facts, that this administration not only is sending our government officials down
00:16:36.880 to Brazil, but we're advocating and supporting this type of reaction from the people in government
00:16:45.080 in Brazil. That right there on its face is just total insanity.
00:16:50.340 It is, and part of the reason why I'm glad we played that clip from Schellenberger, you know,
00:16:56.600 Schellenberger is an independent journalist. He's been very vocal and effective taking on some of the
00:17:02.400 extremes of the radical left on the Green New Deal climate alarmist, but also he was integral in
00:17:11.400 highlighting the Twitter files, and he was one of the individuals who went into great detail when
00:17:16.540 Elon Musk opened up how Twitter had been actively censoring speech and doing so at the behest of the
00:17:24.120 U.S. government. Schellenberger did a very effective job laying that out chapter and verse, and
00:17:29.620 I wanted us to play that because I think he did a very effective job of tying what's happening in
00:17:36.900 Brazil. People might say, well, look, I don't live in Brazil. Why do I care? Well, number one, Brazil is a
00:17:43.120 very important country. It is the largest country in Latin America. This is our hemisphere. It impacts
00:17:48.940 the United States significantly, what happens in Central and South America. But secondly is the
00:17:57.380 interconnection. This is foreshadowing where the American left wants to go. Some of the facts that
00:18:04.580 Schellenberger laid out. The FBI went to Brazil and coached the Brazilian government on how to
00:18:12.700 censor their opponents. That's stunning. Which is insane. And that would be our tax dollars that are
00:18:20.640 paying for that trip. Well, not only that, but our tax dollars are funding NGOs, non-governmental
00:18:26.400 organizations that are pushing for censorship. The modern left has decided censorship is a good thing.
00:18:33.560 By the way, they only censor those they disagree with. They don't censor leftists. They don't censor
00:18:40.960 Marxists. They don't censor communists. They don't censor those on the left. They censor anyone who
00:18:46.680 stands up to oppression. And understand this also in the broader context. So Bolsonaro, when he was
00:18:52.560 president of Brazil, Brazil made a hard pivot towards the United States. He wanted to be friends with the
00:19:01.220 United States. I went and I had dinner with Bolsonaro. He came to the United States, came to Texas.
00:19:06.140 I had dinner with him in Dallas. He pivoted very much wanting Brazil to be an ally of America for
00:19:12.400 us to do more trade and commerce with them, for them to stand with us on foreign policy. That's
00:19:17.400 unequivocally good. And Joe Biden and Kamala Harris came into office and they hated him
00:19:22.940 because Bolsonaro was close to Trump. And anyone who was nice to Trump, they hated. If you like
00:19:29.420 Trump, they hate you. And it's bizarre. They define their entire foreign policy, by the way, whether
00:19:34.520 you liked or hated Trump. Iran hated Trump, so they love Iran. Bolsonaro loved Trump, so they hated
00:19:41.700 him. But the Biden-Harris administration undermined Bolsonaro constantly, did everything they could to
00:19:49.640 to effectively cheer on Lula. And we now have a radical leftist who hates America. As the president
00:19:56.740 of Brazil, he's engaging in totalitarian censorship. And the Biden White House, I believe, is cheering him

00:21:35.000 Amendment, but understand their desire. And it's why big tech was, was run by hardcore leftists
00:21:43.780 that fit their agenda perfectly. And, and Elon Musk's buying Twitter completely scrambled those
00:21:50.840 plans because as long as you had a monopolist controlling big tech, willing to do the government's
00:21:58.480 bidding, that was a very effective censorship regime. Now they are looking at these other
00:22:05.100 countries and seeing what happens and, and, and do not think if this succeeds in Brazil, that we are
00:22:13.280 far away. If God forbid, Kamala Harris is the president next year, I would expect a Harris administration 1.00
00:22:19.680 to move against X, to go and punish and go after. We've already seen Biden and Harris willing to use the
00:22:28.000 federal government to punish their political enemies. Now they're getting a roadmap for how

00:24:50.660 was an announcement that happened about a week ago that the U.S. government, specifically under
00:24:56.280 Biden and Harris, have decided to expand access to the Customs and Border Patrol 1 application
00:25:03.420 into southern Mexico. So in other words, we're expanding a program to bring more immigrants
00:25:11.300 into the United States of America. This happening while Kamala is also making a move to accelerate 0.98
00:25:19.380 the overall invasion at our southern border, at the same time trying to act like she's in favor of 0.51
00:25:26.800 building a wall. Understand, Joe Biden wants more illegal immigrants in America. Kamala Harris wants 1.00
00:25:36.000 more illegal immigrants in America. Just about every single congressional Democrat in the Senate and
00:25:42.200 the House, they want more illegal immigrants in America. They are actively encouraging, facilitating, 0.78
00:25:50.180 and accelerating the invasion at our southern border. They look at the 11 and a half million
00:25:55.040 illegal immigrants that they have invited into this country, and they view them as future Democrat
00:25:59.800 voters. Even so, even with all of that, the story that broke this week, but and by the way, I'm sure

00:26:11.060 headline, and the headline actually is from the AP. Quote, Mexico offers escorted rides north from southern
00:26:21.560 Mexico for migrants with U.S. asylum appointments, and here's the article. Mexico will offer escorted
00:26:28.940 bus rides from southern Mexico to the U.S. border for non-Mexican migrants who have received a United
00:26:34.420 States asylum appointment, the government announced Saturday. The National Immigration Institute said the
00:26:39.480 buses will leave from the southern cities of Villahermosa and Tapachula. It appeared to be an attempt
00:26:47.700 to make applying for asylum appointments from southern Mexico more attractive to migrants who
00:26:53.580 otherwise would push north to Mexico City or the border. And here's the nut graph. The announcement
00:27:03.020 came one week after the U.S. government expanded access to the CBP-1 application in southern Mexico.
00:27:12.400 Access to the app, which allows asylum seekers to register and await an appointment,
00:27:16.700 had previously been restricted to central and northern Mexico. So now, the government of Mexico
00:27:22.980 is actively aiding and assisting the human traffickers. They will provide bus rides throughout
00:27:30.060 Mexico, along with armed escorts from police and soldiers to bring illegal immigrants to the border
00:27:40.660 to invade this country. And they're doing this because Kamala Harris wants them to do this.
00:27:46.500 This is right after. By the way, Kamala Harris is claiming she's going to secure the border, 0.88
00:27:52.240 but they just changed the CBP-1 app to invite even more illegal aliens. They want 11.5 million to be

00:31:29.980 migrant gang that did this. And the video that we witnessed that went viral on social media, 0.75
00:31:34.620 them knocking on doors with guns. These are people that aren't supposed to have guns. And then if you
00:31:40.020 go back just a few weeks ago, there was warnings that in Venezuela they had started to empty out some
00:31:46.620 of their prisons as long as the people they were letting out decided to go to America. So, hey,
00:31:52.380 we'll let you out of our system being a drain on us, but you can't stay in Venezuela. You got to go 1.00

00:35:31.800 hijack not one but two school buses full of elementary and middle school students. The local
00:35:41.220 media, not the national media, covered the story. Here's what they said. A group of migrants tried to
00:35:48.040 board a school bus this morning while it was traveling to a school. The superintendent for the
00:35:52.380 Humul Del Zura Union School District informed parents of that incident earlier today. It happened
00:35:57.840 at one of the stops on the school district's bus route that heads to Oak Grove Middle School and
00:36:03.120 Humul Primary. Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon in a similar area along another route, the superintendent
00:36:08.320 says that a group of migrants tried to stop another bus. Border Patrol, CHP and the sheriff's office
00:36:14.060 have now been informed of these incidents. The superintendent says that for the safety of everyone,
00:36:19.040 if a driver sees a group of migrants at a bus stop, they will drive past it on and move on to the 1.00
00:36:26.120 next. This is a story that should be national news. It's sad that we're the ones are having to turn
00:36:33.900 it into national news center, but I don't want to live in a world where we got to have armed guards
00:36:38.320 on every school bus because illegal immigrants might try to take over a school bus for whatever their 1.00
