00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.620 Guaranteed human.
00:00:05.300 Welcome. It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:09.240 Senator, we were right. I hate to say it, but a convention bump does not exist anymore with a new candidate, Kamala Harris. 0.98
00:00:17.560 Well, that's exactly right. We've got a serious fight at the top of the ticket for who's going to be the next president.
00:00:22.720 Now, border czar Kamala Harris was in Texas yesterday. 1.00
00:00:27.640 She was in Houston. You're in my hometown.
00:00:30.000 Of course, she didn't go to the southern border. Instead, she went to talk to the teachers unions.
00:00:34.500 We're going to break that down and really underscore what this election is all about,
00:00:38.800 which is the open borders and the threat to safety and security of every family in America.
00:00:44.380 We're going to break that down in depth.
00:00:46.140 We're also going to talk about the director of the Secret Service finally, finally resigned.
00:00:51.660 Of course, nobody gets fired in the Joe Biden administration,
00:00:53.880 but she finally resigned after disastrous testimony before the House of Representatives. 0.94
00:00:58.800 We're going to talk about that and the catastrophic security failures that led to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump,
00:01:07.520 an assassination attempt that came within a half inch of being successful and changing the entire course of history
00:01:15.520 and why those security failures happen, what we need to do to prevent them going forward.
00:01:19.400 We're going to get into that as well.
00:01:20.800 Yeah, it's certainly important, especially with those security failures and what we now know.
00:01:25.380 We'll break that down.

00:02:58.960 Senator Kamala Harris, she's in Houston.
00:03:01.960 I just saw her motorcade about 20 minutes ago.
00:03:04.800 I kid you not, as you and I are recording this.
00:03:07.400 She's all about coming to Houston, but dead gummit, she still won't go to the border, will she? 1.00
00:03:11.980 So, border czar Kamala Harris, when she comes to Texas, she never, ever, ever goes to the border.
00:03:19.780 In her entire tenure as vice president, she's been to the border once.
00:03:22.940 She went to El Paso for like 12 minutes.
00:03:25.180 They cleaned it up so she didn't see illegal immigrants, and then she left. 1.00
00:03:27.980 She did not go to the Rio Grande Valley.
00:03:30.180 She did not go to Eagle Pass.
00:03:32.080 She did not go to Del Rio.
00:03:33.340 Instead, she is utterly AWOL.
00:03:36.760 She is nowhere to be found.
00:03:38.000 But she did go to Houston to talk to the American Federation of Teachers, the big teachers' union's gathering.
00:03:44.440 Now, Randy Weidgarten, who runs the AFT, is a hard-left Democrat activist, and it is striking.
00:03:53.160 I'll tell you two words Kamala Harris did not say when she spoke to the teachers' union in Houston.
00:03:59.020 Learning loss.
00:04:00.500 She did not accept even one iota of responsibility for the school shutdowns that Kamala Harris championed,
00:04:08.120 that Randy Weidgarten championed, that shut schools down in the wake of COVID.
00:04:13.280 Tens of millions of school kids across this country had their schools shut down for over a year,
00:04:18.700 and it had devastating learning loss.
00:04:21.780 And, in fact, the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris shutdowns of schools resulted in the single greatest increase in the racial divide
00:04:31.400 on reading tests and math tests ever recorded in this country since we began taking those tests.
00:04:38.720 In other words, what did the policies of the Democrats do?
00:04:41.120 What did the policies of the teachers' union do?
00:04:43.460 It dramatically hurt especially low-income African-American kids and low-income Hispanic kids.
00:04:50.040 And when Kamala Harris is in Houston to address the teachers' union, not one word about it. 0.97
00:04:55.420 Instead, she was screaming about the need for more gun control and the need to control our children. 1.00
00:05:02.660 I mean, it is – it's frightening.
00:05:06.660 It's a manifestation of just how extreme she is.
00:05:10.440 And, again, not a word about the invasion playing out at our southern border that Kamala Harris was ostensibly in charge of preventing.
00:05:20.840 You know, there's also something else that really makes me laugh.
00:05:23.500 I just got done doing Fox News, and they're talking about Democrats are now trying to convince the public that she actually wasn't the border czar. 0.63
00:05:31.420 She was more just kind of like an ambassador for the administration. 0.99
00:05:36.300 So she really wasn't in charge of the border.
00:05:38.640 It was more like an honorary kind of thing, not reality, to try to separate her from the disaster at the border,
00:05:45.400 which includes a policy of wanting to get rid of ICE altogether and saying, in her own words, 0.94
00:05:52.160 that illegal immigrants should not be looked at as someone illegal,
00:05:55.100 and they shouldn't be charged with a crime when you come into this country illegally.
00:05:59.200 It should not be a crime.
00:06:01.220 Yeah, look, her policies on immigration have been a disaster from day one.
00:06:04.780 I served with Kamala in the Senate, and she was extremely liberal. 0.99
00:06:09.360 She was the most liberal senator when she was in the Senate. 1.00
00:06:12.240 And when it comes to immigration, she's always supported open borders.
00:06:15.300 She's been vocal about wanting to abolish ICE.
00:06:18.120 She's been vocal about wanting to make it not a crime to cross into this country illegally.
00:06:22.580 And the policies we've seen under the Biden-Harris administration have reflected her open border political priorities.
00:06:30.880 She's not concerned at all about the people who are losing their lives as they cross illegally into this country. 1.00
00:06:36.300 She's not concerned at all about the children who are brutalized by human traffickers.
00:06:40.160 We know this because she won't do anything to help those children.
00:06:43.340 She's not concerned about the women who are brutalized and raped by human traffickers.
00:06:48.240 She's not concerned about the hundreds of thousands of Americans who've died from fentanyl overdoses because of her open borders. 0.51
00:06:56.120 And I'll tell you, she has no concern for the Americans who are being murdered day after day after day for the children who are being raped day after day after day. 0.99
00:07:10.040 Every damn day, every damn day, it is happening. 0.99
00:07:13.580 And it sounds harsh to say she has no concern about that. 0.99
00:07:17.840 But it is the only conclusion you can reach because if she did care about them, this administration would change their policies. 0.99
00:07:24.980 They would stop releasing illegal immigrants. 0.97
00:07:27.560 And listen, I want to take a chance.
00:07:28.940 You and I did two live podcasts from the RNC in Milwaukee last week.
00:07:32.840 But my entire speech to the RNC was on exactly this topic. 0.97
00:07:37.840 It was entitled Every Damn Day. 0.82
00:07:39.860 And it's not very long. 0.97
00:07:40.880 It's only seven minutes.
00:07:41.760 So I want to play it right now on the podcast so you can hear what I said at the RNC because it really does underscore what the stakes are in this elections and what the very real human costs are of the Kamala Harris and Joe Biden open borders we've had the last three and a half years.
00:07:58.300 Yeah, it was an incredible speech.
00:07:59.640 I was on the floor watching it as you were giving it, and it was amazing the reception of people with the facts you were bringing.
00:08:06.120 Here it is.
00:08:07.380 God bless Donald J. Trump.
00:08:17.900 And let me start by giving thanks to God Almighty for protecting President Trump.
00:08:29.640 And for turning his head on Saturday as the shot was fired.
00:08:37.380 Together we lift up in prayer all of our leaders for protection.
00:08:42.380 And our prayers are in particular with the family of Fire Chief Corey Comparatore and the others injured on Saturday.
00:08:50.200 Never before has an election mattered so much.
00:09:02.040 We are facing an invasion on our southern border.
00:09:07.560 Not figuratively, a literal invasion.
00:09:11.900 11.5 million people have crossed our border illegally under Joe Biden.
00:09:24.180 Look around you.
00:09:26.340 This arena holds about 18,000 souls.
00:09:31.380 Now imagine 639 arenas just like this filled to the brim.
00:09:38.640 That is 11.5 million people, larger than all but eight states in the nation.
00:09:47.920 But the numbers don't show us the true price that our country is paying.
00:09:54.320 Every day, Americans are dying.
00:09:59.120 Murdered.
00:10:01.040 Assaulted. 0.97
00:10:02.760 Raped. 0.86
00:10:03.240 Assaulted. 0.96
00:10:04.240 By illegal immigrants that the Democrats have released.
00:10:09.660 Teenage girls and boys.
00:10:13.100 Wearing colored wristbands are being sold into a life of sex slavery.
00:10:22.480 This is evil and it's wrong. 0.99
00:10:25.840 And it is happening every damn day. 0.98
00:10:33.980 Think of Kate Steinle. 0.98
00:10:37.220 She was 32. 0.99
00:10:39.860 Walking with her father on a San Francisco pier.
00:10:43.980 When a bullet tore through her heart.
00:10:47.440 The man who fired that gun, he'd been deported five times. 1.00
00:10:56.140 Every damn day. 0.99
00:11:00.020 Think of Lake and Riley. 0.99
00:11:02.340 Just 22 years old, a nursing student with dreams of healing others.
00:11:08.580 She went for a job and never came home.
00:11:12.180 Her life taken by someone who should have never been here. 0.99
00:11:19.500 Every damn day. 0.99
00:11:23.540 Or Rachel Morin, a beautiful mother of five. 1.00
00:11:27.460 Raped and murdered in suburban Maryland by an illegal immigrant. 1.00
00:11:32.040 The Democrats released. 1.00
00:11:34.820 Every damn day. 0.99
00:11:37.520 Or Jocelyn Nungary, only 12 years old. 0.99
00:11:44.720 It was just one month ago today that she was brutally raped and murdered in Houston
00:11:50.720 by two men who were supposed to be detained and monitored,
00:11:56.060 but instead released and allowed to roam free. 0.99
00:12:00.840 Every damn day. 0.99
00:12:03.680 These aren't just stories or statistics. 0.99
00:12:10.720 They're our daughters, our sisters, our friends.
00:12:15.480 The families don't care about the empty numbers.
00:12:19.960 They care about the empty chairs at the dinner table.
00:12:24.680 About the voices they'll never hear again.
00:12:30.020 About the laughter lost.
00:12:33.820 And about the dreams that will never be fulfilled.
00:12:38.080 I've sat with these families in living rooms where the silence is so loud that it hurts.
00:12:46.260 Where photo albums are opened with trembling hands.
00:12:52.080 How did we get here?
00:12:55.140 It happened because Democrats cynically decided they wanted votes from illegals 0.55
00:13:01.680 more than they wanted to protect our children.
00:13:06.560 Today, as a result of Joe Biden's presidency, your family is less safe.
00:13:20.300 Your children are less safe.
00:13:23.720 The country is less safe.
00:13:26.780 But here's the good news.
00:13:28.660 We can fix it.
00:13:30.880 And when Donald Trump is president, we will fix it.
00:13:36.880 We know this because he's done it before.
00:13:54.740 I know this because I worked hand in hand with President Trump to secure our border
00:14:00.440 and we achieved the lowest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years.
00:14:12.700 It's real simple.
00:14:15.140 He's done it before and he'll do it again.
00:14:18.660 So tonight, I speak for Kate and Lakin and Rachel.
00:14:32.280 Tonight, I speak for Jocelyn.
00:14:35.720 And let us go forward together and keep our sacred oath to defend the Constitution
00:14:43.880 and to protect the American people.
00:14:46.940 Let us secure our borders, enforce our laws, protect our children and restore the future.
00:14:56.420 Senator, you hear that and your speech, I think, actually is even more important now
00:15:01.680 than it was when you gave it, because this is going to be the election with Kamala Harris.
00:15:06.600 She wants an open border.
00:15:08.680 She believes people coming across should not be prosecuted.
00:15:12.560 She believes that ICE is the enemy, the agents, and they should be abolished.
00:15:17.560 She wants to give health care that we pay for as taxpayers to every illegal immigrant, 1.00
00:15:22.420 which is giving them another incentive to come here.
00:15:26.040 And she doesn't believe in the rule of law when it comes to people that break in the United States of America.
00:15:31.980 Donald Trump is going to have to make this a hardcore election issue.
00:15:35.880 So is everybody else, in my opinion, on the ballot.
00:15:38.560 Look, this is, I think, the number one issue.
00:15:41.720 If you look at American families across this country, your family is less safe today
00:15:46.080 because day after day after day, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are releasing illegal immigrants.
00:15:53.080 They're releasing murderers. 0.81
00:15:54.120 They're releasing rapists.
00:15:55.300 They're releasing child molesters.
00:15:56.860 And the risk every single day of terrorists coming across the southern border goes up and up and up.
00:16:03.780 We will face, tragically, another major terrorist attack.
00:16:07.580 It is all but inevitable, given the Biden administration's weakness, number one, and open borders, number two.
00:16:14.500 And that is front and center.
00:16:16.580 There is a reason that this election is very much about safety and security.
00:16:20.580 And I think at the end of the day, that's why Donald Trump will be reelected,
00:16:24.180 because people want their families to be safe.
00:16:25.900 Canadian women are looking for more. 1.00
00:16:28.820 More out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.
00:16:32.960 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.
00:16:36.580 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:16:37.840 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:16:39.080 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.
00:16:42.840 Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:16:48.520 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:16:51.560 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:16:55.900 Will there be accountability for the fact that Kamala Harris also is just, now they're trying to act like she wasn't the border czar?
00:17:03.620 I mean, you've got, she has to own this, right?
00:17:06.080 And trying to say she's not really in charge, she was never really in charge after saying she was in charge, seems absurd and insulting the American people. 0.94
00:17:15.220 It is ludicrous. 0.77
00:17:16.580 I will give the Democrats credit. 0.96
00:17:18.460 They have remarkable chutzpah. 0.97
00:17:20.720 They're just shameless.
00:17:22.580 I told a number of Republican senators yesterday, I said, listen, any time we do not refer to her as border czar Kamala Harris, we're committing political malpractice.
00:17:32.600 That needs to be her title, and she needs to have it every single time we reference her. 1.00
00:17:38.040 Now, what is amazing is in the last 48 hours, the media, there's been a whole spin job on almost every media cycle saying, no, no, no, no, she wasn't technically the border czar.
00:17:47.160 She wasn't really in charge.
00:17:48.400 It was just sort of theoretical.
00:17:49.900 The funniest was Axios, which is, you know, a big political news outlet that every politico reads regularly.
00:17:59.680 Well, Axios had this whole story about how she wasn't really border czar.
00:18:03.500 Their own publication, Axios, three years ago referred to her as border czar Kamala Harris. 0.70
00:18:10.580 And then what they did, it was beyond hysterical.
00:18:13.720 They issued a correction.
00:18:15.100 You know what they corrected?
00:18:16.600 Their story from three years ago.
00:18:18.360 Yeah, I love that.
00:18:19.460 A story from three years ago.
00:18:20.660 They issued a correction.
00:18:21.700 Oops, sorry, we acknowledge she was border czar when it actually happened. 0.93
00:18:25.000 But now it's politically inconvenient.
00:18:26.920 So we are, I mean, it's out of Pravda.
00:18:28.940 So we're just going to erase it out of the record so it never happened. 0.97
00:18:32.440 The good thing is the American people aren't stupid. 1.00
00:18:34.960 The press thinks they're stupid. 1.00
00:18:36.240 The Democrats think they're stupid. 1.00
00:18:37.900 But everyone knows she was the border czar and no amount of dissembling can hide that. 1.00
00:18:43.280 Let me tell you about Patriot Mobile.
00:18:44.780 If you have a cell phone and probably 99% of you do, you may not know that when you pay your monthly bill every month at Big Mobile that you are giving big donations by default to democratic causes, candidates, and organizations, including organizations like Planned Parenthood.
00:19:02.580 That is why Patriot Mobile was started about 10, well, over 10 years ago, more than a decade ago.

00:20:49.900 I want to move on to the other big news, and that includes Secret Service director has resigned.
00:20:55.240 We've had so much going on.
00:20:56.820 The lack of, you know, is Joe Biden alive?
00:20:59.580 Is he well?
00:21:00.220 Can he talk to the country after he went into hiding?
00:21:03.080 Is he going to resign from office, or is he going to stay for another six months?
00:21:06.320 We've now gone through that.
00:21:07.820 This story, though, continues to unravel about just the shocking malpractice by the leadership of the Secret Service.
00:21:17.200 She has resigned.
00:21:18.240 The FBI director testified before Congress, but there are still a significant number of questions that remain about the Secret Service's failure to secure Trump.
00:21:27.180 I want to get your reaction to Fox News on this report just on the issue of the body cam footage.
00:21:35.920 And it was body cam footage that's showing, I think, even more shocking.
00:21:40.120 Grassley talking about this.
00:21:42.040 Take a listen.
00:21:42.640 And new body cam video obtained by Senator Chuck Grassley shows events immediately after the shooting.
00:21:48.800 And Brian Yenis has more on this.
00:21:51.000 New body camera video shows Beaver County Emergency Services unit officers running toward the shooter after the assassination attempt against former President Trump.
00:21:59.580 Let's figure out how this guy got here.
00:22:01.900 Go.
00:22:03.260 Go.
00:22:03.780 The officers then try to figure out how to access the roof of the AGR building from where the shooter fired.
00:22:10.120 There's a ladder right here.
00:22:11.020 Will you use that ladder?
00:22:11.960 Will you use this ladder?
00:22:13.020 Yes.
00:22:13.420 Yes.
00:22:14.100 Once up the ladder and on the roof, an apparent Secret Service agent is overheard.
00:22:18.940 He was on a roof outside of the fence.
00:22:21.540 And a trail of blood leads to the body of 20-year-old Thomas Crooks.
00:22:26.100 An AR-15-style rifle is also seen laying next to him, as well as shell casings.
00:22:32.060 Looks like, what, at least eight?
00:22:33.280 One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:22:37.880 At least eight.
00:22:38.800 Those gunshots captured in new video from that horrifying day.
00:22:42.580 Oh, my God!
00:22:45.860 Oh, my God!
00:22:47.740 Oh, my God!
00:22:48.580 Oh, my God!
00:22:49.200 Oh, my God!
00:22:49.860 An officer begins to search Crooks' body, finding a cell phone and a transmitter.
00:22:54.880 It is a remote device.
00:22:57.820 It's gray in color, about five, six inches tall.
00:23:01.480 Officers responding, concerned about whether there's an active device.
00:23:05.700 The potential is one of the guys on the gas feeder to tell the FBI to hurry up.
00:23:09.420 The video also confirms accounts of pictures of Crooks and his possessions being shared with the Secret Service before the shooting.
00:23:17.280 So, this is the guy that the sniper saw?
00:23:20.560 Yes, Beaver County sniper team has sent a picture up.
00:23:24.060 This is him.
00:23:25.200 These videos given to Fox were exclusively given to Senator Chuck Grassley's office from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit in compliance with congressional requests.
00:23:35.700 And new on Wednesday, a medical update on the two survivors of that shooting.
00:23:40.040 David Dutch has been discharged from the hospital, and James Copenhaver remains in serious but stable condition.
00:23:47.060 You listen to this report, and the whistleblowers are coming forward.
00:23:50.760 Chuck Grassley getting this video.
00:23:53.080 Hawley, for example, has gotten apparently whistleblowers that are also exposing information to him about the fact that drones were offered to Secret Service locally,
00:24:04.300 but apparently were turned down, saying, nah, we don't need those, the more we find out, the more terrified I am for the safety of anybody under Secret Service protection.
00:24:13.780 Yeah, look, and this is an ongoing problem.
00:24:16.140 This is a problem going forward.
00:24:18.200 Sadly, this was not the only threat directed at Donald Trump.
00:24:21.300 And Secret Service, it was a catastrophic failure.
00:24:24.640 There were clearly insufficient numbers of agents.
00:24:27.000 There needed to be more agents.
00:24:28.280 They needed to cover the full perimeter.
00:24:29.880 They needed to cover the full distance from which a sniper could fire.
00:24:33.260 There was nobody on that roof.
00:24:35.600 That roof was an obvious sight line for the risk of a sniper.
00:24:38.640 There should have been at least one agent on that roof.
00:24:41.800 There were not enough countersnipers.
00:24:44.240 There were no countersnipers that had visibility to that roof on the side where the sniper was hiding and crawling up on the slanted part of the roof.
00:24:52.320 There was also no aerial support.
00:24:54.320 There were no drones.
00:24:55.140 There were no helicopters.
00:24:55.980 And we also have the report that on the day of the rally, the Secret Service pulled off members of Trump's regular detail, reassigned agents to protect First Lady Jill Biden.
00:25:09.700 Now, the First Lady should be protected. 0.99
00:25:11.440 But the magnitude of threats directed at Donald Trump in almost any universe, I would venture to say, is hundreds if not thousands of times greater than the magnitude of the threats directed at the First Lady.
00:25:23.620 And I think it is likely that it was a political decision to turn down repeated requests from the Trump campaign, from the Trump protective detail for more resources.
00:25:35.520 They saw the degree of the threats they were facing.
00:25:38.280 They knew they were understaffed.
00:25:40.100 And yet the Secret Service director, listen, she was handpicked by First Lady Jill Biden.
00:25:46.400 And I'll tell you why I think they picked her.
00:25:48.720 I think a big part of the reason they picked her, she used to be on Biden's detail when he was vice president.
00:25:54.020 And I think they picked her because they wanted the Secret Service to do everything they could to help cover up Joe Biden's enormous mental diminishment.
00:26:02.580 They wanted to put, you know, there are multiple reports about how even White House staff and how even like like the service staff in the White House residents were not allowed to get close to Joe Biden.
00:26:13.760 And it was the Secret Service really trying to keep this secret from America.
00:26:18.180 And I think they trust they trusted the director Cheadle to be part of their press operation.
00:26:25.680 Kimberly Cheadle was, I think, picked because of her political loyalty to Joe Biden. 0.80
00:26:30.740 But you look at the decision, number one, to turn down Secret Service protection to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., completely indefensible.
00:26:38.580 I believe that was made for partisan political reasons.
00:26:41.580 And number two, not to adequately provide coverage for Donald Trump.
00:26:45.420 Again, I believe that was made for partisan political reasons.
00:26:48.660 And it speaks volumes that she didn't resign the day it happened.
00:26:52.560 She didn't resign two days after it happened.
00:26:54.460 She didn't resign even a week after it happened.
00:26:56.960 And, of course, Joe Biden and nobody in the administration fired her.
00:27:01.720 Kamala Harris didn't step up and say she needs to be fired. 1.00
00:27:04.640 Alejandro Mayorkas, the head of Homeland Security, didn't step up and say she needs to be fired.
00:27:10.000 She finally resigned when it became unbearable.
00:27:12.940 And it was only after her disastrous, disastrous performance testifying before the House that she was shamed into resigning.
00:27:23.460 But even now, we don't have any confirmation that there is the protection that is needed to ensure that another attempt is not made on Donald Trump's life.
00:27:33.080 Yeah, it was brutal for her in the House.
00:27:35.000 It also just showed how incompetent she was as a leader. 1.00
00:27:37.640 I want to play Representative Mace.
00:27:39.060 One of the things she said to her, take a listen.
00:27:41.180 Would you say leaking your opening statement to Punchbowl News, Politico's playbook, and Washington Post several hours before you sent it to this committee as being political?
00:27:54.100 Yes or no?
00:27:55.640 I have no idea how my statement got out. 0.97
00:27:58.680 Well, that's bulls**t.
00:28:00.400 So, Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask unanimous consent to enter into the record articles by Punchbowl News, Political Playbook, Washington Post. 0.75
00:28:09.400 All done at 524 a.m., 612 a.m., 634 a.m.
00:28:13.860 A solid three to four hours before this committee got your statement.
00:28:18.420 Without objection to order.
00:28:20.300 Okay.
00:28:20.600 They cared more about getting her statement out to try to cover their A-double-S's, Senator, to the press, friendly press, that she was going to make than actually testifying about the president of the United States of America, former President Trump, almost being murdered in front of the American people in the world.
00:28:38.440 Look, this was all a PR battle.
00:28:40.840 And in this administration, everything is partisan politics.
00:28:45.520 Why was the withdrawal from Afghanistan so disastrous?
00:28:48.660 Because the White House set a partisan political deadline.
00:28:51.940 We must have everyone out by the anniversary of September 11th, because that's a political victory we want to claim.
00:28:57.580 Never mind if American servicemen and women might have to die to do that.
00:29:01.700 Never mind the military advice that we cannot pull out of Bagram Airfield until we've evacuated everyone.
00:29:07.540 That advice doesn't matter.
00:29:09.080 We've got a political objective. 0.94
00:29:10.340 When it comes to every decision they make, why, why do Joe Biden and Kamala Harris allow American citizens to be murdered and children to be raped every day by illegal immigrants they release? 0.99
00:29:22.280 Why? 0.92
00:29:22.600 Because they've got a partisan political objective.
00:29:24.640 They want to let in as many illegals as possible, some of whom they hope will vote illegally in this election, the rest of whom one day they hope to grant amnesty and make them citizens.
00:29:33.280 They hope they'll vote in later elections.
00:29:35.300 But it's all about votes, and that partisan view trumps actually keeping people safe.
00:29:41.920 You look at the response of the Secret Service.
00:29:45.780 You know, Kimberly Cheadle didn't admit they did anything wrong.
00:29:48.580 The New York Times reported that, and this is, there are also Jonathan Martin, who's a reporter for Politico and is one of the top political reporters in Washington.
00:29:58.500 Here's what he tweeted.
00:29:59.200 The Secret Service, quote, expected the sizable contingent of officers from local law enforcement agents to contain any threats outside of the secured zone, but assigned almost all those officers to work inside it, according to numerous interviews with local law enforcement.
00:30:15.420 And then Jonathan Martin continues.
00:30:17.160 This is his tweet.
00:30:17.860 My God, with law enforcement focused elsewhere, a would-be assassin roamed freely outside the perimeter.
00:30:27.440 The only officers who got close to him were the ones who left their designated posts to do so.
00:30:35.240 Their job had been to direct traffic.
00:30:39.360 That's stunning.
00:30:40.760 It is manifest incompetence.
00:30:43.760 I think it is incompetence at the top from political leadership that is more focused on partisan political objectives than on the solemn job of keeping their protectees safe, and the result was a catastrophic failure.
00:30:57.620 You talk about just the bureaucratic BS.
00:31:02.220 Whether, and this reminds me of what happened in our pullout in Afghanistan at the airport that cost American soldiers their lives.
00:31:08.980 We knew we had apparently a bomber there, right?
00:31:13.120 They saw somebody.
00:31:14.720 There was a call that went out.
00:31:16.520 No one apparently could make the decision on how to deal with them.
00:31:19.820 Game over.
00:31:21.420 Suicide bomber decides to do it, and it costs American their lives.
00:31:25.740 You look at this guy. 0.94
00:31:27.840 There was so many, I would say, dumb criminal moves that this guy, as a criminal, did before he ever got up on that roof that was warnings that any logical person would know, 0.93
00:31:44.080 don't let this guy in around this venue. 0.99
00:31:46.780 Example of that is the damn range finder, which she was asked about. 0.99
00:31:50.860 Did he have a range finder? 0.99
00:31:52.360 There were some reports that the individual had a range finder.
00:31:56.220 That would certainly raise my suspicion.
00:31:59.760 Did he have a range finder?
00:32:02.460 Yes, he did.
00:32:03.260 But may I explain that at a number of our sites, especially when you're at outdoor venues, a range finder is not a prohibited item.
00:32:11.420 It is sometimes an item that is brought in by individuals.
00:32:14.360 Did anybody confront him on that?
00:32:16.680 Anybody ask him questions?
00:32:19.220 What are you doing with the range finder?
00:32:21.700 Anybody confront him on his presence where he was in proximity to the president?
00:32:28.080 So, again, to my knowledge, I believe that that was the process that was taking place, was to locate the individual.
00:32:33.220 Did they confront him?
00:32:34.540 Did they?
00:32:34.800 I mean, they would know he had it to then be able to confront him.
00:32:39.480 It's a very simple question.
00:32:41.100 So, the guy's got a range finder.
00:32:43.000 Apparently, no one confronts him on that.
00:32:45.160 They then start putting out pictures that the FBI and everybody has of this guy they can't find.
00:32:50.160 They put the president up on the stage.
00:32:52.180 They get on top of the roof.
00:32:53.320 And they're like, oh, hey, looky here.
00:32:55.700 We got the guy that we sent the pictures out about.
00:32:58.820 And then if you go back in time to what I mentioned a moment ago, Senator, you also had the other concern.
00:33:05.720 And that is from this whistleblower that said, hey, law enforcement partners offered drones to the Secret Service before Butler, Pennsylvania Trump rally.
00:33:17.340 The Secret Service declined.
00:33:18.960 But this 20-year-old shooter, he used drones on the day of the rally.
00:33:25.920 Really?
00:33:26.580 You see a drone in the air and you're good with it?
00:33:28.800 You see a range finder, you're good with it, you lose the guy, you put the president on stage?
00:33:32.860 Look, my assumption is that the personnel was vastly undermanned and that the senior leadership of the Secret Service was not treating Donald Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee as the next president of the United States.
00:33:47.060 And they were undermining him for partisan political reasons.
00:33:50.060 Not only that, so the Washington Post on July 20th wrote a bombshell story.
00:33:56.120 The headline was, Secret Service said to have denied requests for more security at Trump events.
00:34:01.160 Top officials repeatedly rejected requests from Trump's security detail for more manpower and gear at events before attempted assassination.
00:34:09.400 At times, citing lack of resources, people familiar with the ask say.
00:34:13.140 And here's what the Washington Post reported.
00:34:14.740 Quote, top officials at the U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional resources and personnel sought by Donald Trump's security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday.
00:34:28.760 According to four people familiar with the requests, agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty items at other outdoor events, said the people who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss secret security discussions.
00:34:50.660 The requests, the requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency who cited various regions, including a lack of resources at an agency that has long struggled with staffing shortages.
00:35:05.300 These rejections in response to requests that were several times made in writing led to longstanding tensions that pitted Trump, his top aide, said his security detail against Secret Service leadership as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president.
00:35:29.860 Now, what did the secret service?
00:35:31.860 Now, what did the secret service say in the wake of the attempted assassination?
00:35:36.100 Well, that they put out here's what the secret service spokesman said on July 14th, quote, there's an untrue assertion that a member of the former president's team requested additional security resources and that those were rebuffed.
00:35:54.920 This is absolutely false.
00:35:57.300 In fact, we added protective resources and technology and capabilities as part of the increased campaign travel tempo.
00:36:08.480 Now, that's a tweet by Anthony Guglielimi, who is the Secret Service spokesperson.
00:36:15.740 It was an official tweet and it was a flat out lie.
00:36:19.880 And by the way, it wasn't an assertion that a member requested additional security.
00:36:24.700 What the Washington Post reported was that his protective detail, the Secret Service agents on the detail repeatedly requested additional security and repeatedly they were turned down.
00:36:37.200 Why is it that the Secret Service is publicly lying on the record and trying to cover up their disastrous failures?
00:36:44.200 Yeah, and the excuses are getting truly incredible.
00:36:47.100 Before I tell you about that, I want to remind you about what's going on in Israel.
00:36:52.180 The people in Israel right now still very much desperately need your help.
00:36:56.800 They are absolutely under attack.
00:36:59.380 This time with a massive rocket attack that just came in from Hezbollah.
00:37:03.440 Since October the 7th, attacks on Israel have increased with Iran and its proxies launching attack after attack, hundreds and hundreds of drones and missiles.
00:37:12.620 Israel and the Israeli people are living with the harsh reality of terror every day.
00:37:19.040 And the need right now is bomb shelters.
00:37:21.340 The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground right now addressing all the urgent needs.
00:37:27.680 And that's why I want you to partner with IFCJ today.
00:37:31.760 While praying for the best, IFCJ is also preparing for the worst by packing emergency bomb shelter kits that can be delivered immediately to those in desperate need.
00:37:40.980 And your life-saving donation today will help assemble and place these kits with enough food and life-saving emergency supplies for 20 people huddled in a bomb shelter.
00:37:50.960 The cost to put together and distribute these kits is just $290.
00:37:56.060 And your gift will help save lives.
00:37:59.120 And thanks to a matching challenge from a generous IFC supporter, your gift will be doubled in impact to help provide twice the support.
00:38:07.720 Now, all you have to do is call them 888-488-IFCJ.
00:38:14.140 That's 888-488-IFCJ.
00:38:18.980 888-488-IFCJ.
00:38:21.740 You can also go online to supportifcj.org to give.
00:38:26.900 That's one word.
00:38:28.340 Supportifcj.org to stand with the people in Israel.
00:38:33.340 I even got to say, there were some Democrats that were even shocked over just the absurdity of the Secret Service screwing this up.
00:38:42.640 One of them was a Democrat on the House Oversight Committee that was questioning the Secret Service director before she resigned.
00:38:48.700 And this was just about the roof and where the shooter was.
00:38:52.520 It is shocking.
00:38:53.600 Listen.
00:38:53.780 Mr. Cheadle, as you know, the shooter began shooting at 6.11 p.m. Eastern on July 13th.
00:39:02.960 NBC reported that at 5.51 p.m., 20 minutes before the shooting began, the state police informed the Secret Service of their concern.
00:39:11.300 Now, the rally was not paused at that point, correct?
00:39:14.080 No.
00:39:14.280 And according to NBC, just two minutes later, at 5.53 p.m., the Secret Service notified its snipers about the gunmen.
00:39:24.440 The rally wasn't paused at that point either, correct?
00:39:28.580 No.
00:39:29.420 Let me show you some video footage by rally goers.
00:39:32.300 If you could play the video on the screen up here.
00:39:36.060 This was taken two minutes before the shooting started.
00:39:39.500 If you could turn up the volume.
00:39:40.640 Dangerous people.
00:39:42.400 Criminals. 0.99
00:39:43.920 We have criminals.
00:39:44.580 Come up here.
00:39:45.120 He's on the roof.
00:39:46.460 He's locked.
00:39:47.600 We have people that should not be here.
00:39:49.560 Right here.
00:39:49.580 Right on the roof.
00:39:50.740 He's getting up now.
00:39:52.800 He went right on the roof.
00:39:55.020 Up here.
00:39:56.760 Ma'am, that doesn't look like suspicious behavior.
00:39:59.240 That looks like threatening behavior to me.
00:40:01.660 And the rally wasn't paused at that point either, correct?
00:40:04.200 I can tell you, as I stated earlier, sir, that the moment that the shift surrounding the president were aware of an actual threat.
00:40:14.520 That's a threat right there.
00:40:16.380 The guy's on the roof and everybody's yelling at him.
00:40:18.920 Yes.
00:40:19.360 And directing the officer's attention to him.
00:40:22.140 The rally was not paused at that point, correct?
00:40:24.560 We are currently still combing through communications and when communications were passed.
00:40:30.360 Well, I can point you to this communication.
00:40:32.740 It's two minutes before the shots started ringing out.
00:40:35.320 Director Tietel, yes or no?
00:40:37.280 Was there ever a moment where the Secret Service actually considered pausing the rally?
00:40:42.600 The Secret Service would have paused the rally had they known or been told there was an actual threat.
00:40:49.320 The answer is no, correct?
00:40:51.600 I can speak to you in generalities.
00:40:55.000 No, no.
00:40:55.360 I don't want generalities.
00:40:56.340 I want specifics.
00:40:57.600 The answer is no.
00:40:58.520 You did not consider pausing the rally, correct?
00:41:01.640 The people that are in charge of protecting the president on that day would never bring the former president out if there was a threat that had been identified.
00:41:10.520 Well, they did because we've now identified three points in the 20 minutes before the shooting that the threat emerged.
00:41:19.480 I mean, Senator, you listen to this and I worry, final question for you, about not just the incumbency of the director who's resigned,
00:41:27.180 but the people that she's hired in the bureaucracy underneath her, she may be gone. 0.99
00:41:33.400 But if there's others that trickle all the way down to the events level and this is allowed to happen,
00:41:38.980 I mean, for goodness sakes, their excuse about the roof being too sloped to put people up there.
00:41:43.420 Well, guess what?
00:41:44.020 Where the counter sniper team was, we found out that roof was actually sloped at a higher degree of angle than the roof where the shooter shot from.
00:41:51.560 So she was lying to us then it was all PR.
00:41:55.800 It was all spin.
00:41:56.780 This was astonishing incompetence combined with a partisan political gross negligence,
00:42:05.380 which is because her partisan political loyalties are to Joe Biden.
00:42:10.440 They devalued protecting Donald Trump.
00:42:13.860 They also devalued protecting RFK Jr.
00:42:16.360 And that security detail should have been granted long ago.
00:42:20.420 And I think it is, there is a very good question to ask next about who's next.
00:42:25.680 What are they doing now?
00:42:26.860 What are they doing today? 0.78
00:42:28.240 What are they doing tomorrow to prevent the next lunatic from doing this?
00:42:33.040 And we need to make sure there are adequate resources.
00:42:36.580 We need to make sure the site is secured.
00:42:39.080 We need to make sure they have procedures in place.
00:42:41.420 There were multiple junctures at which this assassin, this attempted assassin, could have been stopped, could have been apprehended.
00:42:49.240 President Trump could have been delayed from going up on that stage and never subjected to the risk of the sniper fire.
00:42:55.140 He could have been removed from that stage once they realized there was a potential sniper there.
00:43:00.320 There were a series of catastrophic mistakes.
00:43:03.860 And to date, Secret Service leadership has still taken responsibility for none of them, accountability for none of them.
00:43:13.400 As Harry S. Truman famously said, the buck stops here.
00:43:16.280 Well, the buck doesn't stop anywhere because they're all passing the buck.
00:43:19.760 And they're not even admitting that there was a problem.
00:43:23.100 It is a huge problem going forward.
00:43:26.440 And it needs to be fixed.
00:43:28.680 Yeah, no doubt about it.
