00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.580 Guaranteed human.
00:00:05.260 Welcome.
00:00:05.980 It is Verdict with Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you, and it is the week in review.
00:00:11.040 And my oh my, do we have some big stories that we talked about this week, just three
00:00:14.900 days now away from Election Day.
00:00:17.820 First up, the campaign Donald Trump is running now in 2024, very different than in 2016.
00:00:24.680 So could this be the difference for him to be able to win this time compared to 2020?
00:00:31.560 We break that down.
00:00:33.420 Also, the Hispanic community seems to be turning away from the Democratic Party and moving towards
00:00:39.480 Donald Trump over the border issue.
00:00:42.220 How big of an issue will that be on Election Day?
00:00:44.780 We'll dive into that.
00:00:45.760 And finally, many Americans are concerned about illegal votes.
00:00:50.680 Well, guess what?
00:00:51.460 They have real reason to be concerned about it.
00:00:53.540 As a Chinese immigrant voted in Michigan and they caught him voting illegally.
00:00:59.760 The problem is they're still saying his ballot will count.
00:01:04.700 It's the week in review and it starts right now.
00:01:08.320 You know, it's also, I think, very interesting to see how Donald Trump is putting together
00:01:12.380 this campaign.
00:01:13.280 It's a little bit different than he did in 16, certainly.
00:01:16.080 And that is he understands how important it is to have a team around him, whether it's
00:01:23.200 Border Patrol agents.
00:01:24.680 But he also had some things to say about you.
00:01:27.500 You were obviously there with him.
00:01:28.960 And I want people to let them hear what he said about you and how he understands now this
00:01:34.380 is so important that we have a team together that can actually implement some of these ideas
00:01:40.740 in Washington.
00:01:41.200 Because if you don't have team members, if you don't win the Senate, if you don't win the
00:01:45.240 House, you're not going to get as much done as you want to.
00:01:48.020 And I think he understands this time he needs a very tight team that can take these things
00:01:54.060 that he's talking about on the road and put them into action in Congress.
00:01:59.300 Take a listen.
00:02:00.140 Donald Trump talking about you, Senator.
00:02:02.580 I want to thank some of the special guests we have.
00:02:05.400 Senator Ted Cruz for being here.
00:02:07.620 Senator Ted.
00:02:13.600 It's hard to believe he's in a race because honestly, I don't know who would want to run
00:02:17.660 against him because he's really a great senator.
00:02:21.280 He's a great senator.
00:02:22.560 He loves the country.
00:02:24.320 He's tough as hell.
00:02:25.640 He fights.
00:02:26.200 He's always fighting and, you know, and he's fighting for the state, but he's fighting more
00:02:30.140 for the country than just about anybody.
00:02:32.880 And John Barasso would acknowledge that.
00:02:35.040 John is one of our leaders in the Senate.
00:02:37.360 And he's a fantastic man.
00:02:39.520 So, so, Ted, I know you're I know your thing is going good.
00:02:42.400 I heard you were helped very greatly.
00:02:44.520 You got a big pop, right?
00:02:45.620 And I know you're doing great, but I just want to say he's got my complete and total
00:02:50.280 endorsement.
00:02:50.880 He has always always will have.
00:02:54.420 And you can have a great day and hopefully I'm going to have a great day and we're going
00:02:58.860 to be celebrating together and we're going to make our country, as we say, or we'll make
00:03:03.520 America great again.
00:03:04.620 We're going to make it great and it's going to go faster than you think.
00:03:07.260 But it can't sustain this for another four years that I do believe, you know, it's his
00:03:12.220 mindset is just so different this time.
00:03:15.100 It's like, I got to get a group of warriors that are going to come together and fight for
00:03:19.960 this country.
00:03:20.520 And I love the way he talks about people just like you, where he's like, look, we got
00:03:25.100 to get this done together as a team.
00:03:27.220 Yeah, look, we got a lot of work to do.
00:03:28.960 And when Trump was president the first time, I was by far his strongest ally in the Senate.
00:03:33.300 And when he's reelected, I'll again be by far his strongest ally in the Senate.
00:03:38.380 And the job we have to do, I look back over these last four years, I've never seen so much
00:03:44.320 damage done to our country in such a short period of time.
00:03:47.320 And so we've got a massive amount of work to do to secure the border, which we're going
00:03:51.220 to do.
00:03:51.560 And we're going to do it early next year.
00:03:53.080 It's not going to take a year.
00:03:54.340 It's not even going to take six months.
00:03:55.560 We're going to secure the border in January and February of next year.
00:03:59.040 And it is going to be simply reversing the policy, ending catch and release, reinstating
00:04:04.960 remain in Mexico.
00:04:06.420 And once people discover that if you come, you don't get to stay, you get sent home,
00:04:12.540 the numbers will plummet immediately.
00:04:14.960 We're also going to extend the tax cuts.
00:04:17.260 We're going to we're going to you know, the Wall Street Journal calls this election the
00:04:20.560 six trillion dollar election, because that's how much your taxes go up if Kamala Harris
00:04:25.500 and the Democrats win or how much they go down and stay down if the Republicans win.
00:04:30.260 We're going to end the regulatory assault on small businesses.
00:04:33.900 We're going to end the regulatory assault on oil and gas and jobs in Texas.
00:04:38.280 And we're going to end the wars.
00:04:39.740 We're going to see both of the wars abroad come to an end.
00:04:42.040 And Israel's going to defeat Hamas.
00:04:43.480 There's a lot of upside.
00:04:45.260 And so that was very kind of Trump, what he said at the rally.
00:04:49.340 And he's focused on the job at hand, what we got to do.
00:04:52.400 And by the way, the contrast, the contrast is really striking.
00:04:56.900 Listen to come.
00:04:57.820 Listen to Trump talking about what Kamala was doing the very same day here in Texas.
00:05:02.480 But today, Kamala is here in Texas to rub shoulders with woke celebrities.
00:05:07.480 Isn't that exciting?
00:05:10.740 But she's not going to meet with any of the victims of migrant crime while she's here.
00:05:15.740 We have many of them right here.
00:05:17.800 The families with many of them and they're incredible people.
00:05:21.120 What they've gone through, the hell that they've gone through and will continue to go through, unfortunately.
00:05:27.620 She'll not speak to the grieving mothers from whom she has stolen the brightest light in their lives.
00:05:33.760 She was in charge of this border and she doesn't like being called BordersR anymore.
00:05:38.280 She didn't mind it almost four years ago, but now she doesn't like it.
00:05:42.320 But you don't need that term.
00:05:44.580 She was in charge of the border.
00:05:45.860 She never came here and she never made one call to these people behind me or anybody in the group.
00:05:52.120 Not one call.
00:05:52.680 She's in charge.
00:05:53.480 She deals with Border Patrol.
00:05:55.500 She hasn't made, Paul, not even.
00:05:57.720 Not one call in four years.
00:06:00.840 Not one call in four years.
00:06:03.460 Wow.
00:06:03.720 Yeah, look, it's a striking contrast.
00:06:06.400 And then we saw shortly after Trump's rally, we saw Kamala come to Houston and it was it was a rally.
00:06:15.480 It was in the Shell Energy Stadium.
00:06:17.100 And, you know, it was designed to get lots of headlines, which the corporate media, like bleeding sheep, completely gave of huge crowd comes out to see Kamala Harris.
00:06:27.520 Now, of course, they told everyone it was a Beyonce concert and Beyonce is is by any measure one of the five biggest musical stars on the face of the planet.
00:06:39.240 And so, you know, it was interesting to see all of the media gushing.
00:06:45.680 Oh, 30,000 people came out to see Kamala Harris.
00:06:48.440 What they really should have written is smallest concert in a decade for Beyonce, because I don't think Beyonce has performed to anything as small as 30,000.
00:06:57.920 And particularly when it was free, they weren't charging you free Beyonce concert brings only 30,000 people.
00:07:04.180 I mean, that would be a headline.
00:07:05.420 But but but I got to say, it really was striking that they had to tell people they were coming to a free concert and then they got there and they didn't even have her sing.
00:07:13.320 God bless America.
00:07:14.220 I mean, they like she didn't even hum good morning like like it was it was striking.
00:07:20.760 The ultimate bait and switch, as we call it.
00:07:23.700 It really was.
00:07:25.060 And listen, I think it's because they were afraid if they just said a Kamala concert that that people wouldn't show up.
00:07:32.660 And so they had to have a reason to get people to come there.
00:07:35.920 And it was not to see Kamala Harris.
00:07:38.000 And and I got to say, listen, I I didn't watch the the the Kamala rally.
00:07:42.600 I have a limit to to masochism and how much how much just prattling on I can endure.
00:07:50.360 So I don't really know what they said, because I like I think I went out and had to water my lawn instead.
00:07:55.720 I just I know there was something else I had to do, but but I did see because it's where I see an awful lot of things in life.
00:08:04.320 I did see on on X a truly horrific snippet outside of this woman who's a Kamala Harris supporter, this young woman in her 20s who comes up to this toddler, maybe two, three years old, this little girl in a stroller and begin screaming at the top of her lungs and cursing at this little baby.
00:08:27.720 And it was I've never seen anything like this.
00:08:30.140 I mean, Ben, have you ever seen and this is not her child?
00:08:34.040 Yeah. And this is it went it went viral for a reason because it was just so disgusting.
00:08:37.940 It was it was a shocking, shocking moment.
00:08:40.280 Like, what are you doing?
00:08:41.740 And the fact that she knew people were recording it and didn't care.
00:08:45.540 And by the way, there was another Kamala Harris supporter next to her who actually intervened and got in her face.
00:08:51.420 And like, you can't quite tell what she's saying, but she's basically like, what the hell are you doing?
00:08:55.800 You don't do this, lady.
00:08:56.960 Like, like, like kudos to the woman who intervened and stopped her.
00:09:01.960 And the dad reaches over and grabs his little girl and picks her up.
00:09:05.260 But but I got to say, and I don't know, I don't know this woman's story.
00:09:09.620 She's she's in her 20s.
00:09:10.980 And, you know, I just never say that.
00:09:16.520 Listen, I was forced to retweet it and just say this is deranged because I have never in my life seen anyone do this to a little child, a two, three year old little girl doesn't know what's going on.
00:09:29.120 And I'm just this this crazy stranger.
00:09:32.060 And we're not talking just one little comment.
00:09:35.680 We're talking screaming at the top of her lungs at a child in a stroller.
00:09:41.540 And listen, I think a lot of people online observed what was my reaction, which which is there is a level of hate, a level of radicalism that Biden and Harris and the modern Democrats have inculcated in their followers.
00:09:59.720 That that they've convinced them, number one, that Donald Trump is Hitler, that literally is their closing message that he's Hitler.
00:10:07.180 And they've also convinced them that anyone who supports Trump is evil, is a Nazi, is a Klansman.
00:10:15.740 And apparently that extends to a two year old in a stroller.
00:10:19.000 And look, I was horrified watching it.
00:10:22.400 But I was also just sad watching it, sad for a country that that that how have we convinced I look this?
00:10:32.840 I'm sure this young woman who screamed at this child, I'm sure the whole world has pounded down upon her in in the days since then.
00:10:40.440 And it has gone so viral.
00:10:42.600 Look, when you scream at a child, bad things happen to you.
00:10:45.500 But but I just viewed it as a really sad sign of just how much hatred has infused.
00:10:55.780 And look, there are people on the right that feel that hatred as well.
00:11:00.100 But I got to tell you, the intensity of it, I haven't heard anyone on the right say Kamala's Hitler.
00:11:07.140 It's only one side that is invoking the Hitler analogies that is and, you know, that kind of closing argument.
00:11:15.500 This is it.
00:11:16.180 This is their last thing they want you to say is, hey, if you vote for him, you are a Nazi and he is Hitler.
00:11:23.400 And that is the closing argument for the American people.
00:11:26.180 I just don't see how that plays well on Election Day.
00:11:29.180 Yeah.
00:11:29.460 And it just if you're screaming at babies, you've really kind of lost lost your footing and lost your grounding and lost, you know,
00:11:40.480 what it is to be a reasonable, compassionate, loving human being.
00:11:45.960 Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation, you can go back and listen to the full podcast from earlier this week.
00:11:52.000 Canadian women are looking for more, more out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders and the world around them.
00:11:58.920 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.
00:12:02.660 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:12:03.840 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:12:05.060 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.
00:12:08.840 Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:12:14.560 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:12:17.540 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:12:23.680 Now on to story number two.
00:12:25.960 Let me also ask you about the Hispanic community as well, because the Hispanic community really seems to be talking a lot about the issue of the border.
00:12:36.720 And the border issue is one where many in the Hispanic community have been affected by the border.
00:12:42.260 They've been affected by the fentanyl.
00:12:43.660 They've been affected by the gang violence.
00:12:45.220 They've been affected by the sex trafficking.
00:12:47.540 They've been affected by the violent criminals I've come across that were let go by this administration, including those who were convicted murderers and convicted rapists.
00:12:55.740 And you're seeing now these stories that are also really connecting with the Hispanic community, watching and witnessing what has happened within this Hispanic community, which is a very tight-knit community historically in this country.
00:13:14.020 And they are also breaking away from the Democratic Party as well.
00:13:18.020 Yeah, and in very large numbers, I'll tell you, in Texas and across the country, we're seeing Hispanic voters moving right in very significant numbers.
00:13:28.120 And there are lots of reasons for it.
00:13:30.120 One of the reasons for it is economically.
00:13:32.020 The Hispanic community has been savaged by inflation and the economic challenges that is hitting Americans across the board.
00:13:39.680 Listen, I can tell you, in Texas, if you're an Hispanic guy in South Texas and you work in the oil fields and you drive a pickup truck and you go bird hunting on the weekends, you're voting for Donald Trump because Kamala Harris is doing everything she can to destroy your livelihood.
00:13:56.720 And then you put on top of that the chaos at our southern border and the influx of crime and releasing violent murderers and Venezuelan gang members.
00:14:06.180 I'll tell you, many of the victims of these crimes are themselves Hispanic.
00:14:11.640 Many of the illegal immigrants are going to heavily Hispanic neighborhoods where the victims are Hispanic themselves.
00:14:18.440 And the Democrats have no answers.
00:14:20.500 And so I think we're seeing the Hispanic community moving right.
00:14:23.860 And I will say the contrast.
00:14:26.780 So in the closing week, Joe Biden has decided his argument is if you're voting for Donald Trump, you're garbage.
00:14:33.100 In the closing week, Donald Trump actually just today put out an incredibly powerful new ad.
00:14:41.100 And we talked about how on Friday I was with President Trump in Texas and we were there with families of those who lost loved ones to violent criminal illegal aliens,
00:14:50.740 including Alexis Nungary, the mom of Jocelyn Nungary.
00:14:55.480 And as I mentioned, I've gotten to know Alexis very well.
00:14:57.500 She's an incredible young woman.
00:14:59.600 She's just 27 years old and she's dealing with the worst grief imaginable.
00:15:05.340 And she's taken that pain, which easily could just crush you.
00:15:09.660 You could just curl up at a ball and be unable to do anything.
00:15:14.220 And instead, she's taken all of that pain and she's channeled it into being a voice for Jocelyn, speaking out for Jocelyn.
00:15:22.480 And look, Alexis has told me, listen, she knows she can't bring Jocelyn back.
00:15:26.640 But if she can speak out and change the policies, maybe she can save another little girl.
00:15:31.660 Maybe she can save another mom from enduring the grief and sorrow and misery of losing your child.
00:15:39.820 And so I want you I want you to listen to this ad.
00:15:44.580 And it's just an extended interview with Alexis that the Trump campaign just put out because it really does sum up the human cost of Kamala Harris's open borders and the suffering that is happening.
00:15:59.260 Sunday night, I asked her to not stay up super late because of her coming to work with me in the morning for us to do her summer school.
00:16:08.640 She said, OK, I told her goodnight and I love you.
00:16:13.400 I went to bed, not realizing that that was going to be the last time I saw her.
00:16:18.800 We're best friends.
00:16:23.640 We're going to shake it again.
00:16:26.340 I woke up to notice she wasn't in her bed.
00:16:30.040 And I'm in my heart trying not to lose my mind because I don't know where she is.
00:16:36.420 I finally remembered her phone had a location on and her phone was pinging just two minutes down the road right behind the skate park.
00:16:45.440 I start driving to the direction the phone was being pinged at and I see a couple of cop cars with lights on.
00:16:55.140 I see yellow tape and immediately my heart drops and sinks to the bottom of my stomach.
00:17:02.280 My daughter's hands and ankles were both bound.
00:17:08.220 She was strangled to death with left with no pants.
00:17:13.280 And I know in my heart she fought incredibly hard.
00:17:19.360 She was not going down without a fight.
00:17:21.380 We begin with two men.
00:17:27.240 We're learning our charge with capital murder tonight, accused of killing a 12 year old girl.
00:17:31.860 Police say these men strangled her before dumping her into that creek.
00:17:35.760 Both men were in the country illegally apprehended, then released by Border Patrol less than three weeks before Jocelyn's death.
00:17:42.500 The men accused of killing Jocelyn Nungare are affiliated with the gang known for brutal violence.
00:17:48.300 Kamala Harris was in charge of immigration and our borders.
00:17:53.780 If we had better border policies and not open borders and not these catch and release policies, I truly believe this all could have been prevented.
00:18:05.340 Under her being vice president of this country, my daughter's life was ripped away from her.
00:18:13.720 She had her entire life of head of her.
00:18:15.820 My daughter is six feet in the ground based off of policies that she allowed to keep.
00:18:28.760 Kamala Harris did have one job and she not only failed, not me, she failed my daughter.
00:18:37.600 She failed Jocelyn.
00:18:40.220 She was only 12.
00:18:41.220 President Trump reached out, gave me his sincerest condolences as not a former president, but just as a father, someone who cares.
00:18:52.600 I believe Donald Trump needs to be back in office.
00:18:55.860 I can at least know that my next child will be safe in this country.
00:19:02.440 Senator, I've not seen a more powerful ad in my lifetime, and especially, and we'll put it up on social media, because you need to watch it because you see this mother telling her story and you see the pictures of her daughter.
00:19:19.960 And if this is the closing argument for Donald Trump's campaign, it is the most powerful one I think he could have used.
00:19:28.020 Yeah, look, I have sat in her living room.
00:19:33.040 I've sat with Alexis, Jocelyn's mom.
00:19:36.660 I've sat with Kelvin, Jocelyn's grandfather.
00:19:40.460 As they've told me, they shared those same stories just one-on-one with me.
00:19:45.280 And the agony, every time I see her talk about Jocelyn, it just, it, this is the very real cost.
00:19:58.520 And I've got to say, it's a very different message than Kamala and Joe Biden's closing argument.
00:20:06.400 Finally, Senator, Donald Trump is not just running a campaign and doing the speeches.
00:20:12.500 He is continuing to announce new policies for his administration if he wins.
00:20:19.400 And one of them hit a nerve with a lot of Americans in a positive way today when he said this about the victims of the cartels.
00:20:29.340 So today, I'm announcing that for the first time under my administration, we're seizing the assets of the criminal gangs and drug cartels.
00:20:38.860 And we will use those assets to create a compensation fund to provide restitution for the victims of migrant crime.
00:20:51.760 And the government will help in the restoration.
00:20:54.860 The government will help in the restitution.
00:20:56.860 I mean, that's what Americans want.
00:21:02.400 They want action.
00:21:03.600 Yes.
00:21:04.260 Yes.
00:21:04.660 Look, that's exactly the right thing to do.
00:21:07.120 And it's the reason why Jocelyn, look, it's only been, or why Alexis, it's only been a couple of months since Jocelyn was killed.
00:21:13.960 Can you imagine a mom standing up and speaking out like she is?
00:21:18.480 It's the reason she's pouring herself into this is because there's a chance to change this.
00:21:22.880 There's a chance to prevent the next victim, the next little girl, the next little boy from being killed.
00:21:30.380 And, number one, President Trump is promising, as he did before.
00:21:33.660 Look, when he was president last time, I worked hand-in-hand with him, and we had incredible success securing the border.
00:21:40.860 We achieved the lowest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years.
00:21:46.660 It's a very simple message.
00:21:47.840 We did it before.
00:21:49.280 We'll do it again.
00:21:50.700 And I think expanding it, as he's suggesting, to say we're going to seize the assets of these criminal gangs, of these drug cartels,
00:21:58.780 and we're going to use the assets to compensate the victims and the victims' families.
00:22:04.140 I think that is fair.
00:22:05.320 That is right.
00:22:06.400 That is just.
00:22:07.960 And it is the difference between a leader who's actually trying to keep people safe and what Kamala Harris is doing,
00:22:14.580 which is putting our own partisan political interest above the safety and well-being of American families.
00:22:20.640 As before, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation on this topic,
00:22:25.280 you can go back and download the podcast from early this week to hear the entire thing.

00:22:59.580 I want to get back to the big story, number three of the week you may have missed.
00:23:05.720 Well, let me ask you another question.
00:23:08.120 And this is about people that are really concerned about the election coming up.
00:23:13.460 And we have now got a headline.
00:23:15.940 And there's two parts of this headline that will drive you insane.
00:23:19.600 Number one, a Chinese foreign exchange student has been charged with multiple crimes.
00:23:25.120 That's good news for illegally voting in Michigan on Sunday.
00:23:30.460 Now, again, the headline there, you would think to yourself, well, this is great news.
00:23:35.160 We had a guy that was illegally voting.
00:23:37.000 We caught him.
00:23:38.580 It's not going to count.
00:23:40.100 The problem is Michigan can't and won't disqualify an illegal vote cast by this Chinese national
00:23:48.200 because, quote, it's already been put through a tabulator.
00:23:52.240 So Michigan says, hey, it counts.
00:23:55.620 So there is someone that's going to show up and vote in Michigan.
00:23:58.420 And their vote is going to be canceled out by a Chinese foreign exchange student that has
00:24:03.940 been charged with multiple crimes for illegally voting.
00:24:06.580 But it still gets canceled out.
00:24:08.660 And yet Democrats are still sitting there saying it's racist if you say you have to show an
00:24:13.820 ID before you vote.
00:24:15.740 Well, it's infuriating.
00:24:18.140 And understand why this happens.
00:24:20.560 This happened because the Democrats in Michigan passed a law, their voter ID law, allows people
00:24:26.400 to show a current student photo ID card from an educational institution in order to vote.
00:24:33.760 Now, the only problem is you don't have to be an American citizen to get a student ID.
00:24:38.520 In this case, you had a Chinese national who was from China.
00:24:41.920 He had a student ID.
00:24:42.920 It could be a student.
00:24:44.740 That that's allowed.
00:24:46.460 But Chinese nationals are not allowed to vote in American elections.
00:24:51.180 And yet this individual did so.
00:24:53.220 He voted while it was illegal to charges against a 19 year old student.
00:24:59.520 He was not identified, but he is not a U.S.
00:25:01.760 citizen and he's being charged.
00:25:03.160 And the reason that this is happening is because Democrats don't want you actually to have to
00:25:11.420 prove you're a citizen.
00:25:12.560 You know, there was legislation called the SAVE Act.
00:25:15.780 The SAVE Act, they voted on it in the House of Representatives.
00:25:19.320 And the Democrats on essentially a straight party line vote, Democrat after Democrat after
00:25:25.260 Democrat voted no.
00:25:26.580 The SAVE Act was very simple.
00:25:27.940 It said you have to demonstrate, you have to prove you're a citizen in order to register
00:25:30.900 to vote.
00:25:31.280 It's common sense.
00:25:33.240 And yet part of the one of the reasons the Democrats voted no is they claimed, oh, this
00:25:37.900 is not a problem.
00:25:38.740 No noncitizens vote.
00:25:40.060 Well, tell that to the Chinese national who just voted in Michigan.
00:25:43.580 And infuriatingly enough, the Michigan officials say, oh, and by the way, his vote's going to
00:25:48.300 cast.
00:25:48.740 He's illegal.
00:25:50.700 He can't vote legally.
00:25:52.180 And yet we've already tabulated his vote.
00:25:54.280 That's what the Michigan officials are saying.
00:25:56.460 And I'll tell you, I'll bet you a large sum of money, Ben, that the candidate he voted
00:26:01.200 for rhymes with Hamila Karras.
00:26:04.740 And yet magically, that's going to be included in the vote tallies for Michigan, one of the
00:26:10.420 key swing states.
00:26:12.540 And that's sadly an outcome I think the Democrats want.
00:26:17.600 Well, let's go back to the SAVE Act for a moment.
00:26:21.220 And this, I've heard and had more people come up to me, and I'm assuming you have as well,
00:26:27.540 but I'm interested to see where people say, man, I feel like we're going to win this one.
00:26:31.520 I feel like we're on good footing.
00:26:32.820 I feel like momentum's this way.
00:26:34.120 Unless they cheat, unless something happens where they cheat, you get a story like this,
00:26:41.260 and you see that the person was caught voting illegally.
00:26:45.040 Everybody knows it's illegal.
00:26:46.020 And they're like, sorry, it already went through the tabulator.
00:26:47.760 We can't take it out now.
00:26:49.040 So it's going to count.
00:26:49.980 This is why so many Americans, I think now, have no confidence in our election system.
00:26:57.080 And again, this goes back to what you guys try to do in Congress with the SAVE Act.
00:27:02.660 Remind people of how simple that would have been for us to be able to protect the votes
00:27:08.380 of American citizens.
00:27:11.020 It was a simple requirement that you have to demonstrate American citizenship to register
00:27:15.700 to vote.
00:27:16.120 And that's basic common sense, which is why the Democrats as a party are against it.
00:27:21.780 If they don't want non-citizens to vote, why are they opposed to demonstrating you're a
00:27:28.140 citizen before you register to vote?
00:27:30.620 The answer is obvious.
00:27:32.120 But look, here's the good news.
00:27:34.020 The good news is historically voter fraud has only mattered at the margins.
00:27:38.000 It's only mattered when it was close, which means in states across this country, particularly
00:27:43.040 swing states in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, we got to win by a big enough margin, they
00:27:48.220 can't steal it.
00:27:49.460 Will you see unscrupulous Democrats trying to steal votes?
00:27:53.260 Absolutely.
00:27:53.920 It has happened every election for as long as we've had elections.
00:27:57.780 But the best way, well, A, we should do what we can to fight it and prevent it.
00:28:01.980 B, we should pass laws to make it more difficult.
00:28:04.200 But we're four days out.
00:28:05.320 The real answer now is that we need to turn voters out in every state in the country and
00:28:10.460 win by such a big margin that nobody can steal the result.
00:28:14.780 As Trump puts it, make it too big to rig.
00:28:17.740 That's got to be, at this point, that has got to be the number one approach.
00:28:22.040 Senator, final question for you.
00:28:24.120 And this is a election question.
00:28:26.600 There is massive early voting numbers that are coming in around the country.
00:28:32.820 There are two thoughts on this.
00:28:36.100 And we see that women in swing states are outpacing men by about 10% when it comes to
00:28:43.480 the votes that are coming in early voting.
00:28:46.640 Democrats say this is great.
00:28:48.320 It means that women are showing up and they're voting on the issue of abortion, which means
00:28:51.740 they're going to vote for Kamala Harris and other Democrats.
00:28:54.260 And then there's others that say, hold on a second, not so fast.
00:28:58.020 Conservatives are voting earlier now and a lot of single mothers may be voting early and
00:29:03.460 a lot of mothers are struggling with the economy.
00:29:06.200 What is your gut on this?
00:29:07.340 Because I don't think it's a bunch of people showing up on the abortion issue.
00:29:11.760 Well, look, I think it probably varies state by state.
00:29:15.240 And so I don't know the data in the swing states.
00:29:20.060 I will say right now there is a real and meaningful gender gap in terms of the votes that
00:29:26.120 that if you look at it, Republicans right now are winning married men, Republicans are
00:29:31.260 winning single men, and Republicans are winning married women.
00:29:35.260 However, Republicans are badly losing single women.
00:29:39.080 That is in terms of national polling.
00:29:42.960 So one of the questions that I would have, and this is where it's hard to generalize from
00:29:48.240 data without knowing specifics, but I would be very interested in the states where you're
00:29:52.440 seeing a significantly larger number of women than men showing up early, I would be very
00:29:56.980 interested in the breakdown between married women and single women because there's a significant
00:30:02.100 difference in their voting pattern.
00:30:04.300 I can tell you also, at least in the state of Texas where early voting is happening, we're
00:30:08.720 not seeing a significant differential between women and men.
00:30:12.380 We're seeing about equal numbers of both voting in the state of Texas.
00:30:15.780 I don't know about the other states.
00:30:17.280 I haven't studied the numbers there, but it is difficult to generalize.
00:30:22.080 Look, it's possible if you get a bunch of single women who are voting Democrats showing
00:30:27.500 up in large numbers, that is a good data point for Kamala Harris.
00:30:31.120 I don't know if that's the case or not.
00:30:32.700 It may be that you have a bunch of conservative women, you have a bunch of married women who
00:30:36.700 are coming out to vote for Donald Trump.
00:30:38.240 You are right that Republicans are voting early in significantly greater frequency than they
00:30:44.600 did previously, and I think one of the big reasons for that is that Trump asked them
00:30:48.980 to, and the Republican Party is making a very concerted effort to encourage people to vote
00:30:53.300 early.
00:30:54.160 So that one data point on its own, it's hard to generalize about.
00:30:58.460 You really need to drill down more deeply into the data.
00:31:00.920 As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
