00:00:00.000 My fellow conservatives, I have in my hand the winner of the race, and it doesn't get
00:00:08.540 any closer than this.
00:00:21.400 The individual in second place has 4,514 points, 49%.
00:00:28.160 The individual in first place has 4,696.51, 51%.
00:00:34.200 Ladies and gentlemen, your next leader and Premier of British Columbia, Carrie Lynn Finley.
00:00:58.160 Thank you.
00:01:28.160 Thank you.
00:01:58.160 Please welcome her up, folks.
00:02:28.160 Thank you.
00:02:58.160 wow well thank you thank you wow what a night this has been and what a journey this has been
00:03:10.400 um i first want to thank all the other candidates who love british columbia like i do i know that
00:03:17.620 so i want to thank each and every one of them for putting their names forward and being part
00:03:24.420 of the future of British Columbia. Thank you. Thank you to all of you.
00:03:37.080 You know, my small team of determined warriors has been led by my campaign manager, Chris Dyson,
00:03:45.660 And bolstered by so many MLAs who endorsed me and worked in their own communities.
00:03:56.780 Give yourself a hand, you MLAs who endorsed and supported me.
00:04:06.320 Really, you've been on-spiring.
00:04:09.840 I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
00:04:12.440 you are too look so many people have helped in this and you're too numerous right around the
00:04:20.000 province to name but you know who you are and i am forever grateful for your wisdom
00:04:26.140 your advice and steadfast faith in our vision for a bc that will bring prosperity
00:04:34.600 and opportunity to all who call it home that's us
00:04:39.740 Next, I want to recognize my husband, Brent Chapman.
00:04:56.620 Now, Brent is the MLA for Surrey South.
00:05:10.840 But long before that and since, he has been a source of never-ending love and support to me.
00:05:18.540 So thank you, Darden.
00:05:19.500 Thank you. Also here tonight representing us are two of my four children. There's Hannah
00:05:27.420 and her sons, Aiden and Ronan and Donna and her baby Ruth.
00:05:40.060 that isn't it isn't just a chocolate bar it's a real person baby Ruth and look family honoring
00:05:50.440 them protecting them loving them and encouraging them is the biggest part of my life and I love you
00:06:01.940 all. We are a strong, resilient clan, and I know their brother and sister are watching tonight
00:06:12.240 along with their young children. They're too young to understand all of this, and really,
00:06:18.400 I get that. But someday they will understand that their Gigi, which is what they call me,
00:06:26.320 stood up for them and the children to follow, stood up to make our beautiful BC more affordable,
00:06:33.980 more livable, more safe, and more prosperous. I want the generations now and to come
00:06:41.380 to feel they can have a comfortable and happy life as British Columbians. Isn't that what we all want?
00:06:49.860 So what am I fighting for? I'm fighting for nothing less than the future of
00:06:59.940 British Columbia, our way of life. Mine is a grand vision of fundamental change.
00:07:10.320 Our homes, our individual rights, our properties are at stake. We need hope and
00:07:17.480 prosperity. As Minister of National Revenue I oversaw lower taxes, red tape
00:07:25.380 cuts and a return to surplus from the worst recession since the 1930s. We can
00:07:32.720 do this in British Columbia. Our province will become strong, good paying jobs,
00:07:43.820 modern infrastructure, resource wealth, and opportunity that has been blocked by the NDP.
00:07:52.420 We can be a powerhouse in our nation, a powerhouse no longer denied by eastern and global elites,
00:08:00.720 predatory foreign nations, and our own constitution.
00:08:05.640 NDP radical ideology has devastated property rights, backroom side agreements,
00:08:12.480 and the NDP's economic vandalism has to end.
00:08:18.740 A Finley government will negotiate in the open.
00:08:22.880 We'll bring clarity and certainty
00:08:25.420 because that is what unleashing our natural resources,
00:08:30.600 attracting investment,
00:08:32.620 keeping our professionals practicing without censorship
00:08:36.500 and promoting freedom demands and will deliver.
00:08:41.300 British Columbians deserve this, and we will no longer be seen as irrelevant in interprovincial
00:08:53.480 and international trade and commerce. Make no mistake, I am fighting for our sovereignty,
00:09:01.860 our home. I will unify and take the fight to grassroots British Columbians who've had
00:09:13.160 enough of being pushed around. I am leading to take this province back, speaking up for
00:09:22.920 all, finding solutions that last, where hard work is respected, less government, more freedom,
00:09:32.480 powerful Western alliances, dealing effectively with the tough issues we face daily, violent
00:09:39.980 crime, drugs, chaos, and disorder in our neighborhoods.
00:09:45.200 Right down the street here when we came in tonight, it's all within our grasp.
00:09:51.520 taxes safer streets and communities protecting our children and putting
00:09:57.220 parents and families as a priority clear policy commitments discipline
00:10:03.640 messaging public safety taken seriously again economic decisions that prioritize
00:10:10.840 small business and when the time comes and I'm looking at all the MLA's now
00:10:17.260 When the time comes, real campaign support for our excellent MLAs and candidates.
00:10:28.080 Does that sound exciting?
00:10:34.800 It is.
00:10:36.480 But I understand it's also work, serious work.
00:10:39.660 The Conservative Party of BC will stand together because we know that we can make a difference.
00:10:47.260 We can fight back and we can deliver real change.
00:10:52.260 We'll do it, all of us, together.
00:10:55.440 Tonight, in this amazing space, Rocky Mountaineer,
00:10:59.640 don't you just love their name?
00:11:01.160 I love it.
00:11:02.220 I see passion and commitment.
00:11:05.040 I see people who are not prepared to give up on their communities.
00:11:08.720 I see people who believe that BC can still be a beacon of opportunity,
00:11:14.740 functional, safe, affordable and family-friendly. With your help we can
00:11:21.620 turn that commitment into real change to bring common sense across British
00:11:28.080 Columbia. In our national anthem we cry out to God to make our land glorious and
00:11:36.180 and free free people making free choices and free speech in a free enterprise market economy
00:11:50.820 where hard work is rewarded and we are not crushed by socialist overreach that wants to dictate
00:11:58.340 literally what we think, what we believe, what we can say, and who we associate with.
00:12:06.060 I'm asking you now to donate and volunteer, volunteer some time to our win.
00:12:15.640 Faith, family, and freedom, that's what it's all about.
00:12:20.700 And truly.
00:12:24.380 And I can't wait to get started.
00:12:27.620 God bless British Columbia, and God bless all of you.
00:12:34.120 Allons-y, let's go! 0.98
